Morning ladies!! Catch up in between still painting then we have a christening today so I need to try not look like a heffalump 😂

@paintfairy I had a Chinese last night then popped into see my friends on the way home & they were like 😳look at you!! The consultant app will be fine! I'm high risk & they basically just ask me if all ok & often it follows a scan so they can look at it

@becarefuloutthere ha was just a thought 😉I'm nearly done on the painting, last colour so 2 coats of that then done

@DKDK123 we are always right 🤪😆hood you feel better this morning

@BellatrixK heyyyyy welcome to the side car!! And congrats on the 2/3 that's so brilliant, did you see in a cup or your hand out of interest?! On the RHR we have to tell you to ignore it, as we've got ladies on here who, according to their RHR are basically dead & they've worried but all is ok, can you take it off??

Happy Sunday people!
For those with (active/feral) toddlers, how would you try to entertain them (quietly) in a church for a christening??

Franklydear · 13/03/2022 09:04

@Minster2012 the catholic way, one person seats at the back with them and takes them out as needed, did you noticed how much echo churches have? the whole congregation will hear him clearly, 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

For ds fans: we are planning a weekend away for our anniversary, obviously ds always comes with us so it’s a family weekend not a romantic shagaton, but ds is not part of the planning, yesterday we were making final decisions and booked the hotel, ds made pretty clear that we are not going to the moon hotel (premier inn) as we had a bad experience in one of them (and he is used to much higher chains) when he was 4!, that was when he was 4, a whole 7 years ago!, for full disclosure, we are going to London, to the zoo and Kew Gardens

feliznavidad2 · 13/03/2022 11:08

Welcome @BellatrixK 👋🏻 👋🏻 great to have you with us!

2020mission · 13/03/2022 14:57

@BellatrixK don't worry yourself with RHR. Mines didn't increase at all until the third trimester. It's not a sign of pregnancy for everyone!

Vil10 · 13/03/2022 15:43

@paintfairy we just never stop worrying do we!! Glad the steak was good but not so good on the bloat, ive also been getting bloat again, it's just awful isn't it!! Hopefully the consultant app will go well and you'll be in and out!

@DKDK123 I'm bloody hoping it will! Scanxiety doesn't get better does it😩 I would've chosen aero bubbles over tea too, don't worry! And definitely agree that pregnant women are ALWAYS right!! My OH told me the other day for me to just choose our new bed and order it, he didn't want any input because he wanted to avoid disagreements😂😂

@BellatrixK amazing on the 2-3! Also ignore the rhr for sure!!x

@Franklydear bus driver sounds like a knob head and you're a wonderful mum!! Also laughing at your DS and the premier inn! Boy has high standards!!

@Minster2012 you definitely won't look like a heffalump!! Can't wait to see the finished nursery!!

So after wanting to book a holiday for the last few months, OH booked for us to go to Corfu in May, I'll be 27 weeks and I've read that sometimes if you're 28 weeks airlines might ask for a doctors note to show your EDD and you're a low risk pregnancy, I have my 25 week midwife app on the 14th April so will ask her then! Meal last night was lovely, I opted for a burger because I'm saving my steak and red wine combo for after baby is born! OH also went all out and had so much food because he's finished the shredding part of his plan now (not sure if you all remember when I've spoke about this plan he's been on) but he can start increasing calories now, if anyone is interested too at his results and has me on insta, check out my story!
Also ladies you all need to get to George Asda, I bought some of the cutest bits ever today and at such a good price!! I got 6 leggings and top outfits, 3x white sleepsuits with scratch mittens, 3x muslins, hooded knit cardigan, and the softest romper and was £52!! I was so impressed!!

becarefuloutthere · 13/03/2022 16:53

@Vil10 your OH looks great! You can tell he's worked really hard. I guess he does it competitively?! Good going on the trip! Bet you can't wait 😛 we've booked to go to Barbados next feb for Dh 40th. We were meant to go March 2020 for my bday but we all remember what happened to cancel that!! 🤪 good going on the Asda haul! So satisfying when you get good bargains 👏🏾
@Minster2012 well done doing it yourself. I saw the post and it's looking great 😊 enjoy the christening, I'm sure you'll look fab!
@BellatrixK congratulations 🥳 and welcome to the bus! I've had my baby now but still hanging around like a bad smell 😂

feliznavidad2 · 13/03/2022 16:56

Ooh @Vil10 I need to find out who you are on IG! Totally agree re. George at Asda, I bought these rompers yesterday. 🥺🥺🥺

Minsters Side Car - Thread 7 - annoying neighbours, second hand bargains and how many sleep suits should we buy again?!
bez91 · 13/03/2022 17:08

@Franklydear go mum, I'd be super annoyed too. That's just not acceptable!

@feliznavidad2 oooh boob liquid... that is interesting. I never leaked before hand with DD and I haven't yet this time either. Hopefully you'll get a good yield of colostrum if you were wanting to collect.

@DKDK123 hope you made up with DH? Mine is also a knob today but that may also be me 😂. His mum has been badgering us to visit them (it is our turn but we're literally busy every weekend up to the end of April with DDs social life and they live over an hour away) we all hate seeing her 🙈 I've pushed him to arrange it otherwise she's likely to kick off and I said we'll go on Mother's Day our only full free day which obviously I didn't really want to but I've also said I'm not leaving the area after 36 weeks because of being high risk of preterm labour, and apparently I'm being awkward 😆 he is still cooking us a roast so maybe it's me being bitter about having to sacrifice my Mother's Day knowing it'll be a 💩 day 😄

@BellatrixK welcome and tentative congratulations! RHR I think can be a thing but definitely not for everyone so ignore it for sure. Hope you're feeling ok

@Vil10 yes Asda! I nipped in last week and got a neutral little beige rainbow romper. I usually find it very hit and miss for baby/kids clothes but very good at the moment! Sounds like great pre birthday celebrations, have you got any house news as yet?

Kate105 · 13/03/2022 19:20

Helloooo it's been a busy busy weekend but will try to catch up... we have a poorly PTSD so he's feeling very sorry for himself. He's got a nasty cough and clearly feels like he's the first to ever have a cough. He is really pathetic and it's making me wonder whether man flu is actually nature rather than nurture???

To answer your question from years ago @paintfairy we have 2 different sets of nappies. We have some totsbots which we used a lot to start with and I'm still using at night. They are in a 2 part system so you need a waterproof wrap to go over the top. We use Motherease Airs which are pretty much unassailable. The bamboo under layer is super absorbant so good for overnight or long stretches without changes, but they take an age to dry. On the other hand, they are completely bomb proof and I've never had a poonami incident in them.

Now I'm a bit more confident, I'm using more Blueberry Simplex during the day. Because they are just one part rather than two, they are not quite as massive and easier for other people to use (people who are used to disposables). I've just got some Bambino Mio ones half price in Aldi and they seem to be pretty similar so you might want to try a cheeky jaunt to Aldi to get a few if you're interested!

Minster2012 · 13/03/2022 19:48

Oh god I'm soooooo tired 🥱

Not a proper catch up as falling asleep but I just need to join the DH IS A KNOB crew

Over and out

bez91 · 13/03/2022 20:17

I mean it's no coincidence @DKDK123 and @Minster2012 that we're due within 10 days of one other and it's our DHs which are the knobs right 💁🏼‍♀️😂

Minster2012 · 13/03/2022 21:08

Pahhhhhhaaaaaaa @bez91 @DKDK123 it's def then though not us 😜

DKDK123 · 14/03/2022 03:23

Welcome @BellatrixK 😊 My RHR took a massive dive about 4 weeks in then started climbing again rapidly so try not to read too much into it.

@franklydear glad to hear DS put in his planning input and you didn't book the moon hotel 😂 Tho I am quite partial to a cheap n cheerful moon hotel myself, that's what we're staying in next weekend for the wedding £80 for 2 nights at the moon hotel vs £500 for 2nights at the wedding hotel, it was a bit of a no brainer, I shall feed back to him if they've improved in the past 7 years 😉

@minster2012 how did the wedding go, did you manage to keep feral child entertained in the church? I actually love taking DS to these things as it gives me an excuse to leave and go outside with him when I get bored and blame it on him getting antsy 😂

@vil10 your OH is a wise man letting you choose the bed 😂 loving asda baby clothes at the min too, asda and matalan have been my 2 go to places for baby clothes tho it's been so hard trying not to buy everything and only choosing a few things!

@feliznavidad2 those rompers are so cute 😍

@bez91 do you need to see MIL for the whole day? Could you not go through really early and say you're taking her out for a mothersay day breakfast/brunch, drop her back off at her house and you've done your duty, gives you guys the rest of the day to yourselves.

@kate105 poorly babies are never fun, hopefully he gets over it soon......tho I do think you're onto something with man flu starting so young 😂

@bez91 @minster2012 there definitely is something about 3rd trimester that turns the men folk into knows, definitely not us at all! 😂 DH didn't apologise, but did take DS out for a few hours so I could rest (or maybe he feared for DSs life being left in the house with an angry hormonal pregnant lady) and returned with chocolate which is his way of an apology without saying it and also made my lunch so clearly he knew he was in the wrong 😉

larrythelizard · 14/03/2022 09:23

Covid properly wiped me out this weekend! Was DH's birthday so I had to try and be a bit more functional but was a serious battle. Going to try and do a bit of work today, DS gone to nursery and I'm starting to feel better.

Ba ha ha @DKDK123 @Minster2012 @bez91 i don't think I'd realised how close all of your due dates were. Definitely still the men though and not you!!

@Minster2012 looking good at the christening this weekend!

Lovely to see you over this side @BellatrixK

Interesting question @Kate105 - DH is awful at manflu so I assumed that had been inherited by DS but maybe it's just because he has a Willy?! Hope the pope is starting to feel better

Cute baby clothes from Asda @Vil10 and @DKDK123!

Ooh Barbados @becarefuloutthere lush!

I'm always in for stories about your DS and pleased to hear he's got standards @Franklydear 😂

I think you have your 20 week scan this week @Vil10? I know you said but I can't remember dates...if it's today, good luck!

OP posts:
Vil10 · 14/03/2022 09:53

@becarefuloutthere he's put so much effort into it it's crazy! Nope not competitively he just likes to set himself goals and then focuses on them, he's mad! Oh wow Barbados will be amazing!! My mum and dad love it there it's their favourite destination, I'm jealous, you'll have the best time!!

@feliznavidad2 so my username is my real name backwards, that'll help you with IG😂 ohhh look at those, so sweet!!

@bez91 isn't it good at the minute!! Definitely stocking up! House news, we had our mortgage accepted pretty quickly, bank are happy with the value of the house etc, we want to make another viewing to measure up and OH wants to check all stuff that they'd check during searches, luckily he has a background of bits of things like that so is going to take his uncle and they're going to go through everything, hopefully that'll be this week and we're still looking at may for moving in🤞🏼

@Minster2012 how was the christening?? Loved the family photo! Also men are all dick heads the end

@DKDK123 hahaha he definitely knows not to argue with me at the minute😂 I haven't been to matalan yet but I'll definitely try there!

@larrythelizard sorry you've been struggling with being poorly!! I'm 20 weeks today and scan is on Wednesday! Thankyou!!x

Happy 20 weeks pregnant to me!! Can't believe I'm half way already, where has that time gone!! OH told me to be ready for 12:30 then I'll know where we're going/what we're doing, so I think I'll be quiet on here until Tuesday night! Hope everyone has a lovely day❤️

becarefuloutthere · 14/03/2022 10:37

@larrythelizard I'm glad you're on the mend now but go easy on yourself too ❤️
@Vil10 ooh very dedicated, that's great 😃
Yeah barbs is beautiful! My family are from there so I've been a few times now. Dh is yet to go so I'm very eager for him to experience it and meet some of my distant relatives.
Enjoy the scan/day and being half way through! I loved it from here on in as it felt truly real and ok 👍🏾 🥰

paintfairy · 14/03/2022 11:16

I maybe need to clarify my consultant confusion. I've seen her twice so far. At the last appointment she measured my cervix and checked baby measurements. She then said she'd have the sonographer check my cervix at my 20 week scan and she'd follow that up with a phone appointment. I would also get 28, 32, 36 week scans, and she'd follow those up with a phone appointment also. So I assumed that would be it (unless there was a problem).
I had my follow up phone call from my 20 week scan last Monday. Which she confirmed everything was fine. The majority of the call was a lecture on vaccines. 🙄 So I'm confused why I need to go again so soon and physically see her. Firstly I dislike her and secondly my appointment is 10.30. My first one was 9 and an hour late. My second one was 9.30 and 1.5 hours late. So god knows how many hours I'll be there. And I can honestly think of better things to be doing! 🤬

I will do a separate catch up post. 🤣

becarefuloutthere · 14/03/2022 11:25

@paintfairy I understand your frustration and confusion over why you're seeing her again now. That is annoying! I think they are as regular as midwives if you're being consultant led rather than midwife led?

Vil10 · 14/03/2022 11:33

@becarefuloutthere oh yes I think I remember you saying that actually!! Aww it'll be amazing!!

@paintfairy that is very annoying!! And like you said, how much time will you actually be taking out of your day if they're going to be late??

Also a quick question about the 20 week scan, is it just the scan then home? Or do you see the midwife after like the 12 week one?

paintfairy · 14/03/2022 11:36

@DKDK123 I've got plenty of vests and sleepsuits for both newborn and 0-3 now. Also hats. I'm unsure about 'outfits' but I've got the basics at least. Also got towels and muslins. Men are knobs but I can definitely see how you would regret the aero! What I want to eat and what I eat that agrees with me are not the same thing at all!
@BellatrixK do not look at rhr. Turn it off if necessary! 🤣
@Minster2012 did you manage christening entertainment? Also, is your DH really tall or are you not? I then realised X actually looks pretty big next to you also. 🤣 So maybe you aren't that tall? I'm not either mind..... As for knobs- they were born knobs. What's he done? 🤔
@Vil10 I couldn't see OH photos but I did see steak! 🤣 And yes everything is one big worry! Great about asda and the house progress.
@feliznavidad2 I haven't got leakage but I noticed i have a scabby nipple! It seems a bit sore? Ffs. They've been tender though since the beginning. Do I need nipple cream already?! 😱
@becarefuloutthere I don't think you are meant to leave the bus are you? How else can we see how things are going!? We almost need a baby born extra bus, for us all to move onto later. 🤣 Never been to Barbados but it looks amazing.
@Kate105 yes all the different types is what confuses me. I maybe need the most simple but I don't want something that takes an age to dry either. I didn't know aldi sold them! Useful! Men are pathetic, you should know this? 🤭 I hope PTSD is feeling better soon.
@bez91 yeah I wouldn't be thrilled about seeing her either. Doesn't sound great fun!
@larrythelizard glad you are feeling better!

Yesterday I had another headache from hell. I also have been struggling with pains? My knee today. 🤣 I feel useless? Hips and thighs hurt. Even like my pubic bone? Not really bad but it's there. And I had the weird hard left hand side stomach in the night again and actually that hurts when it does it? Again not like excruciating? No idea what's normal and what isn't! I'll mention it all to the midwife but I'm not seeing her for another 4 weeks yet. I'm definitely feeling the baby moving more though. Its like bad wind now and not just wind. 🤣

paintfairy · 14/03/2022 11:39

@becarefuloutthere I'm not sure how often normal people see the midwife so it's hard to tell? I saw my local one at booking, at 16 weeks and my next is 25. But do other people see it more? Only I'm seeing this terrible woman instead?
@Vil10 can't answer- see above. But I've never seen anyone after scans, not the 12 or 20. 🤷‍♀️ Just scan and home.

bez91 · 14/03/2022 12:12

@DKDK123 we have the full Mother's Day with no plans now. Result but then DH changed it to the weekend after so now we're double booked and I need to rearrange something else instead 🤦🏼‍♀️

@larrythelizard take it easy today if you are childless, the fatigue got me which isn't ideal when pregnant 💕

@Vil10 fab news you're still on track for May with the house - exciting times! On the scan I think every trust is different; I always see sonographer then midwife then consultant then phlebotomist. Everyone who is midwife led seems to do the same minus the consultant but it means you're there hours a bit like.
Like you @paintfairy 🤦🏼‍♀️ are they planning to scan you too or literally just app with consultant? Can you ring up and ask if they can do it over the phone instead? Unless there's any reason why not and they need bloods/obs etc. I'm being seen every week now between hospital and midwife base which isn't too bad as they are both very close but annoying all the same I get it!

Walked to post office with DD in tow on her bike this morning, feel like baby is going to fall out now 🙈

larrythelizard · 14/03/2022 16:07

I was consultant led last time @paintfairy and I barely saw them, maybe your MW can shed light on why the consultant wants to see you so often? Does the anti-D thing have any bearing on it?

Sounds like a pain in the arse @bez91 but at least you don't sacrifice your Mother's Day for MIL. DH was on about booking somewhere, I suspect he has not, I may do it for him as he's been very nice whilst I've been ill.

Pubic bone pain sounds like the starts of PGP @paintfairy - have a google.

Excellent house news @Vil10 it's so lovely that everything is coming together after all the stress ❤️

My sister is having her first baby and due in about 3 weeks, she actually asked me some advice today which is super super rare!!

I popped an e-consult over to the Dr this morning about heartburn and medication so cross your fingers for me they say yes as I'm actually wanting to get back cooking and eating interesting food again!

Hope your all well ladies small check in as my MN doesn't load properly 😬 keeps saying error to load! -.-
@BellatrixK welcome 😘❤️❤️ try to avoid focusing on the RhR mine was all over post BFP 👀
@Minster2012 gorgeous pics from the christenings & your baby girls nursery 😍
@Vil10 happy 20 week today darling how time is flyinggggggg 🥺🤰❤️ unsure about the process post scan hunny my letter doesn't mention midwife follow up or anything like that
@larrythelizard glad to hear your feeling a little bit better 😘
@paintfairy I'm still with you there with the isit wind vs baby, so glad little bubs has become more prominent in movements to differ the two ;)

Had a quiet birthday weekend ladies! Cancelled all my plans because mable continued to be poorly over the weekend, cleaning d&v up pretty much all over it! Got her seen at vets and they've gave her this probiotic drink stuff and medicine and she's like back to normal already so todays the first day we've been able to actually enjoy and relax! Been shopping and got paints for our nursery as all upstairs is upside down from being plastered and the nursery is in the mist of drying out so it'll be the first one to tackle! If anyones got a Asda nearby or Asda living there is a 1/2 price baby sale on :) soon as we stepped in we ended up with a full basket 🤣👀

whatwonder · 14/03/2022 16:21

hiya! sorry for the radio silence, had a proper internet detox whilst in Spain.

Had a great babymoon, but struggled to take it easy (was doing 25K+ steps a day in Sevilla for 3 days and then was so sore, to then point where I actually couldn't walk or take off my own shoes, just hobble into the bath and hope for the best). But then we went to the countryside and had a properly relaxing time, which was ace.

Had my growth scan today (recommended after I went to maternity triage for reduced movement monitoring) and everything is looking good, baby is hitting around the 50th percentile on all the measurements so that's very reassuring! Have also been feeling the baby move and kick more (confirmed at the scan that bub is head down with their feet lovingly kicking the inside of my ribs on a semi regular basis),

Lots to go back and catch up on, but thanks for the new bus @larrythelizard and welcome @BellatrixK ! echoing what others have said - put the RHR monitor away!
