Hi all,

Starting thread #2 as our first is nearly full amazingly!

We also have a private Facebook group which @curlywurly3 has kindly set up. So hopefully see you there too Smile

Here's to the nausea, reassurance scans and long waits of the first trimester!

@KelpCake I know I'll get over it, did last time. My 6yr old was so hoping to have a sister, obviously not confirmed yet but is looking likely to be another boy. Though I'm secretly hoping there's a girl hiding. On the plus side, I still have all my boy clothing from last time so cost wise it'll be a bit easier. Struggled to bond last time and dreading it happening again this time around.

Where abouts are you? I know here in Bristol it's pretty manic with scan appointments, seems they are fully booked up and doing much shorter appointments so alot of ladies having to go back for rescans likely isn't helping that.

emmajane90 · 21/05/2022 22:25

We had our 20 week scan on Thursday and found out that the girl we believed we were having is actually a boy 🙈😅 now I've got over the shock I'm excited to be a boy mum 💙

ploopypleepy · 21/05/2022 23:31

@emmajane90 omg what a shock!!! You've clearly taken it very well 😂

Smarsh32 · 24/05/2022 08:19

Is anyone else just crying for next to no reason?! I am a wreck! Have just spent the last hour crying because my husband went to work and the cats were trying to find him!! I am not ok!! Lol

KelpCake · 24/05/2022 09:37

@Smarsh32 yes, like once a day I have a cry over some nonsense. I've cried several times now because there is an all white pigeon by my place and I am worried it was released from a wedding or something and the other pigeons might not want to be friends with it.

justlemonade · 24/05/2022 10:16

@Smarsh32 yes! Yesterday I cried because I was tired. I cried so much I made myself sick...like a ridiculous child.

Smarsh32 · 24/05/2022 10:24

Oh, I am sorry to hear you are upset too, but it makes me feel better that it's not just me crying over nothing! These hormones!! We have to go back for attempt number 2 of 20 week scan tonight - trying to see the skin covering her whole spine! Hopefully she co-operates this time haha. Hope you guys are all getting on OK xx

KelpCake · 24/05/2022 11:42

Finally got a date for mine - but it's at 21weeks, which feels a bit late

Pregnantpolly · 24/05/2022 13:21

I have my 20 week scan next Wednesday at 19wks+4. Exited but anxious. Still worried about all the unknowns.

Smarsh32 · 25/05/2022 11:44

Good luck to you both for your scans!xx

ImReadyForThis · 27/05/2022 05:02

Hi everyone, can I join?

I'm 21 weeks, due early October with my second. Found out last week it looks like I'm having another girl! So excited! All going well so far, although a few things that warrant extra monitoring which I'm trying not to worry too much about as they might all be fine.

Loving all the baby kicks this time- I had an anterior placenta with my first and have been struck by how much stronger this baby's movements feel with a posterior placenta.

Is there a Facebook group on the go? I'd love to join and find it much easier to keep up with chat there than on the threads.

Pregnantpolly · 28/05/2022 11:15

I'm 19 weeks today eek...

xMari · 01/06/2022 07:12

Welcome @ImReadyForThis , I believe there is a facebook group but I don’t have a link sorry! I’m sure someone will pass it on for you!

Is it “normal” to be having doubts about the hospital I’ve chosen to give birth? I’ve been there 4 times this pregnancy and I didn’t have any initial concerns but decided to look up reviews and now I’m shocked. Stories of being sent home after water breaking and having their baby at home as a consequence.
I know reviews are never going to be 100% positive but they barely have 3stars 🤔wondering if I should message my midwife about other options

Pregnantpolly · 01/06/2022 11:03

@xMari are there other options nearby? The one I'll likely get booked into had some horror stories from 10 years ago but I'm optimistic things have changed.

xMari · 01/06/2022 14:39

@Pregnantpolly yeah there’s an MLU pretty much the same distance away from my house and another hospital.
I’m praying your birth location has changed, I’d imagine some of the staff would have changed in 10years at least.
The reviews I read were all in the last year. Wishing I was one of those women that are able to do homebirthing at this point. Think I’m just freaking myself out

emmajane90 · 02/06/2022 00:17

Anyone else absolutely dying of heartburn?! Any & all home remedies gratefully received, I've been put on prescription strength Gaviscon but it's not enough so I'm waiting for the doctor to prescribe me something else on Monday 😩

LondonladyTTC · 02/06/2022 19:29

@emmajane90 yes I have been getting it for the last week or so, I had never had painful heartburn/ indigestion before now 😫 haven't worked out the remedies yet but will be looking out to others recommendations! I have been waking up with it so need to sit up to calm it down

I'll let you know what the doctor prescribes when they're open again on Monday! Honestly some days it's horrendous. Overall feeling pretty good at this point though, I think feeling the odd kick is definitely helping me to actually enjoy pregnancy now rather than just worrying all the time!

Pandabuggle · 04/06/2022 19:08

No heartburn here, got some towards the end last time and eating more in a snacking pattern than actually having meals helped, and milk.

I just keep getting discomfort/pressure in my bum and back. Uncomfortable when I manage to #2 wondering if it's from kiddo being back to back with me (why do they do this?)

xMari · 06/06/2022 15:51

Afternoon all! Hope you’re all well! Just found out I’m having a boy, super happy with that news! ❤️

@Pandabuggle i was experiencing discomfort and a thumping feeling in my bum and cervix area too and the scan showed today that baby’s head is down there 😂They said it’s normal and baby will probably still move around plenty of times, before due date

justlemonade · 06/06/2022 19:07

Is anyone else still vomiting? I'm 20nweeks and it's still happening a couple of times a week.

@xMari that's very exciting! I have my scan this week too and hoping to be able to see gender.

xMari · 08/06/2022 02:52

I’m not vomiting anymore but I hope it’s not too bad for you! Thank you, there was no mistaking the gender of my little boy 😂 I wish you the best for your scan @justlemonade Flowers

Pandabuggle · 11/06/2022 18:00

@justlemonade not vomiting but the nausea has come back with a vengeance. Hopefully yours will fade out shortly. I found the only thing that helped was sucking a boiled sweet or slips of icy lemonade.

Got my redo anomaly scan Monday afternoon, fingers crossed this bub plays ball this time around. And maybe get confirmation of what sex they are too.

How's everyone doing, especially now weather is getting warmer. Currently still walking 4miles a day 5 times a week and noticing it's getting a tad more difficult

ImReadyForThis · 20/06/2022 03:37

Hi, hope everyone is doing OK. I'm starting to struggle with aches and stiffness around my pelvis/hips and finding it hard to get comfy at night a lot of the time now! 24 weeks. Eek.

If anyone could send me a link for the Facebook group or message me to add me somehow that would be brilliant, I'd love to join. Thanks.

Smarsh32 · 20/06/2022 07:18

@ImReadyForThis I am feeling the same, I am 24+3 today and starting to feel it, I am also shocked at how strong her kicks are starting to get. I have an anterior placenta so it's only on the odd occasion throughout the day I feel her but it's crazy I feel so in love already honestly its the best feeling ❤️ I am not in the facebook group as I don't have Facebook sorry I cannot help you there x
