I stupidly thought I was done with morning sickness last week but it is very much still here to stay. It disappeared soon after 12 weeks in my first pregnancy but it's still going strong at 16+5 this time.

I have my '20 week' scan on Monday - I'll actually only be 17 weeks, I'm hoping it's not too early to spot anomalies. I need to decide if we want to know the sex of the baby too.

PoopMaster · 06/05/2022 20:30

Aww no @Lulu557, have you tried your midwife and what have they said? So sorry you've not been getting help so far, it sounds awful Sad

Mememe17 · 07/05/2022 05:01

Oops seems in only 8 weeks and due in December. So I'll say bye! Good luck ladies x

ploopypleepy · 07/05/2022 10:25

Anyone else feeling a bit anxious at this stage where symptoms seem to have stopped but you can't feel baby yet ? I'm tempted to have a reassurance scan as I'm driving myself mad 😭

ALBXO · 08/05/2022 08:07

@ploopypleepy Ah me too, that’s exactly how I feel! I felt horrendous from weeks 6-14 but now feeling so much better and almost back to my normal self that it’s scared me! I’ve booked in for a private reassurance scan today to put my mind at rest. Im 16 weeks on Tuesday x

ploopypleepy · 08/05/2022 09:55

@ALBXO yes !!! That's exactly how I feel.... I'm normally quite a chilled person too. Funnily enough Im in for a scan today too, let me know how yours goes! I'll be 16 weeks on Monday !

I'm horrendous for this! I've got my 20 week scan on 19th and it can't come soon enough!

ALBXO · 08/05/2022 12:59

@ploopypleepy just out of the scan! Everything is all good, & actually found out we are having a little boy!! So glad I booked and went as feel so much better now. What time is yours? Hope all goes well xx

ploopypleepy · 08/05/2022 13:13

@emmajane90 it's so bad isn't it !! I caved and got a reassurance scan today !!!

@ALBXO same here ... all good, we found out the gender too but we're doing a bit of a reveal later so I will actually find out then. Congrats on your little boy !! I will update when I know ... excited !! Xx

ploopypleepy · 08/05/2022 20:46

It's a girl!! 😍

DogsAndBirds · 09/05/2022 11:14

Congrats @ploopypleepy and @ALBXO on your girl and boy :)

I also found out last week I'm having a boy 💙 We are keeping it quiet from most until 20 weeks but immediate family know.

I also tested positive for Covid yesterday so now have a week of day time tv as I can't go to work for 5 days.....

ALBXO · 09/05/2022 17:07

Ahh congratulations @ploopypleepy ! I feel silly for even being anxious yesterday now lol but think it’s always worth getting the reassurance as I feel so much better now!

When are you due @DogsAndBirds ? I’m 16 weeks tomorrow. I hope you’re not too unwell with covid and that you can enjoy your week of rest! Xx

DogsAndBirds · 09/05/2022 17:09

@ALBXO due 20th so 16+4 currently. Suppose it's better getting Covid now than later in the pregnancy!

Pinktruffle · 09/05/2022 17:25

I had my 20 weeks scan today, found out I'm having another boy. As this will be our last there was a little bit of me that was disappointed I wont have a daughter, but there will be so many great things about having 2 boys!

Now we just need to think of a name as we really struggled coming up with a name for my son, I've had my girls names picked out for years but struggle with boys names!

Pinktruffle · 09/05/2022 18:27

Also found out my placenta is at the front so wont be feeling movements for a while I think

LondonladyTTC · 09/05/2022 19:39

@Pinktruffle congratulations on your healthy baby boy, your son will have so much fun growing up with a brother. Sorry that you have to come to terms with never having a daughter though, it must be hard for it to be so final. I am sure the moment he is in your arms and you see your two boys together it will be forgotten though! What kind of names do you like?

ploopypleepy · 09/05/2022 22:06

@Pinktruffle I'm the same, anterior placenta. Let me know when you feel anything you're further on than me !

Pinktruffle · 10/05/2022 13:36

@ploopypleepy I'll keep you posted. I feel the odd roll I think but no kicking at all so far. I felt it really early with my first, at 15 weeks, so it is freaking me out a bit!

@LondonladyTTC I'll make my peace with it, I am excited about having another boy too. It will be amazing for my son to have a brother and there are lots of pluses - they can share clothes, share a room for a lot longer, hopefully have similar interests. We are of Indian heritage so I would want to go with an Indian name but I don't like any of the traditional ones so I will have to look for some ideas. My sons name is quite unique so the new baby would need something similar. The only name I like at the minute is Roman which isn't Indian and DH's best friends son is called Roman so it's already been veto'd by him!

jadew88 · 11/05/2022 10:39

Everybody who has anterior placentas - my notes from my 12 week scan (at 13+5) said I had an anterior placenta.

I've been feeling baby move every night for the last week. And I don't mean little flutters. I mean proper prods and pokes and rolls!

So don't be disheartened just because it says your placenta is anterior - as your uterus expands the placenta migrates up, so you may feel movements lower down 😊

Also had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday at 17+3 and heard the heart beat and got a recording which was so lovely to hear!

ploopypleepy · 11/05/2022 14:40

@jadew88 awhhh how lovely that you can feel all that !!! I'm coming up to 17 weeks so fingers crossed I'll feel something soon. When did yours start ?? X

jadew88 · 11/05/2022 14:42

@ploopypleepy I've been keeping notes of symptoms etc on my phone because I'm sad like that 😂 I felt my first "is it or isn't it?" Movement on 30th April, then had nothing until 6th May, and it's been every night since then.

I've had prods and pokes, rolls, bubbles, fizzing. The whole lot!

ploopypleepy · 11/05/2022 14:45

Hahah that's so like me !! Okay so about 5 days ago the movements really started. Does it make you feel much more relaxed knowing the babies okay ? X

jadew88 · 11/05/2022 15:19

@ploopypleepy yes and no. Yes it's lovely, but if I wasn't feeling anything yet I wouldn't be concerned. I fully expected to not feel anything for a while, so it's been a massive shock to feel something so early!
