Hope everyone is good! Congrats on the baby girls seems a lot of them so far! I have a private gender scan Friday, convinced it's another boy not long to go now! Symptoms been full force recently back came the sickness, exhaustion and painful boobs not sure where that's come back from but would like it to disappear again! 2 weeks left of mat leave and back to work dreading the manic mornings and home times of drop offs and collections whilst feeling like crap also not sure how I am going to stay awake as come 1pm I'm struggling to keep my eyes open lol.

@Pregnantpolly constant worrying. I was the same yesterday had no pains felt 'normal' then today I've woke up and have slight backache and also lower 'period' type pains currently sat with a hot water bottle and also took paracetamol as when I'm walking around it seems to bring it on a bit more.....not sure whether to get some advice or it's just growing/stretching pains. Wow paddle boarding lol something I've never tried!

Hope42022 · 27/04/2022 12:46

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well. Time is flying by! I have my 16 week appointment on Saturday and we’re having a gender scan on Sunday so I’m excited to find out what we’re having. As a scared first time mum, I recently signed up for NCT classes as loads of my friends recommended them. I’ve now got an email from them about their Early Days course which starts in late November and I’m not sure if it is worth doing that as well. Is anyone else considering one or both?!

Pregnantpolly · 27/04/2022 13:09

@Boopsy89 hope you're feeling good today. I'm glad someone else is in same boat of questioning everything. I want this baby more than anything.

WildePozy · 27/04/2022 14:08

Hope everyone is doing ok! I had my 16 week appt today at the GP’s with a covering midwife. She didn’t do the heartbeat though so I was really disappointed, said it was too early.. but I see a few of you have had it done at that appt.
Roll on the 20 week scan now!!

TheGirlWithTheGreyBunny · 27/04/2022 14:22

Heloo everyone hoping I can tag along with you all. I’m 17+2, due 3rd October and we are having a baby girl. Have children aged 9,7,5&3 all boys

Boopsy89 · 27/04/2022 14:38

@Pregnantpolly I ended up speaking to a midwife and she said just to rest hot water bottle and paracetamol didn't seem concerned as I wasn't bleeding so potentially 'growing' pains lol. Again feel differently today not got as much pains etc.... obviously everyday is different but a constant worry as you say the baby is wanted so much wish sometimes I could go sleep and wake up when I'm due lol hope your feeling okay today!

Boopsy89 · 27/04/2022 14:40

#TheGirlWithTheGreyBunny hi I'm due 2nd October with a girl as well. Sounds like you will have your hands full....super mummy lol

Boopsy89 · 27/04/2022 14:42

@TheGirlWithTheGreyBunny phone put hash tag instead of @ message is above lol

Loulou1712 · 27/04/2022 15:51

Can I be added to the Facebook group please?

I'm due 12th October, 3rd pregnancy with 2 little girls already. My eldest turns 4 on October 15th so we may just end up with 3 under 4!!

Boopsy89 · 27/04/2022 16:18

@WildePozy hope your ok ....at my appointment my midwife said she would rather not try to listen to heartbeat as it can be difficult to find at this stage and then when they can't find it it makes potential mums more anxious and go away thinking the worse so don't be to disheartened I know it would of been amazing to hear but if she struggled to find it it would of made you worry a little....just think it's not that far away for your 20 week scan so something look forward too!

WildePozy · 27/04/2022 16:59

Thanks @Boopsy89 - Totally get it, just would have been nice today. Only a few weeks to go though.
Is anyone else waiting to find out? We had a surprise with my son, and are doing the same again this time.. but I feel even more curious about it the second time!

PoopMaster · 27/04/2022 19:45

@WildePozy I had my 16 week appointment last week and same thing, no listening in which was disappointing. My midwife knows how anxious I've been so probably didn't for the same reasons others have said, it can be hard to find and would have completely freaked me out in that case. We definitely used to get to listen in at the same appointment with my older DDs 10 years ago so policy must have changed since then.

It's a long wait to the 20 weeks scan! My bump feels really high and pregnancy has been very different to my girls, so wondering if we're having a boy this time.

Pregnantpolly · 28/04/2022 09:39

I don't think it's that common place for them to listen to heartbeat at 16 week appointment any more. Certainly it hasn't been mentioned.

Is it bad to want a bump already? I'm not 15 weeks until Saturday but all my clothes still fit so it's still surreal. Symptoms definitely easing too although I did vomit after a curry chip yesterday! Cramping if any is super mild.

Smarsh32 · 28/04/2022 10:55

I had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday (I was 16+5) and they did listen to the heartbeat.. however they pre warned to say it may take them a while or they may not be able to find it as she is small. They did find it and we listened for about 5-10 seconds then she moved and she couldn't find it after that. Have my whooping cough vaccination today! It still does not feel real lol! I am not sure it's going to until she is here lol.

Pinktruffle · 28/04/2022 11:45

@WildePozy I'm in the same situation, we have a little boy and didn't find out with him. DH is keen for another surprise but I think I want to know. We are still debating whether or not to find out.

As it's my 2nd, my bump is very visible at 15+3, its hard to hide it now. My last pregnancy was during lockdown so the only maternity wear I have is joggers and leggings, I need to get some work suitable wear. My bump is really trying to grow, I can feel my belly trying to stretch and it's so uncomfortable.

DogsAndBirds · 28/04/2022 12:11

@Pregnantpolly I am 15 weeks today (FTM) and starting to notice everything changing shape. I don't have bump as such but my belly is definitely changing shape - I imagine it might pop out quite soon. Some tops do make me look more pregnant than others though!

Pregnantpolly · 28/04/2022 13:44

@DogsAndBirds you're really not too far ahead. So far boobs are only thing really changing. I really need new bras but cautious in case I grow our of those. I'm excited for you.
How's the symptoms today?

DogsAndBirds · 28/04/2022 16:59

@Pregnantpolly no major symptoms today but I'm so busy at work so no time to have any 😂 My boobs have got massive as well and exactly the same just making do with my old bras for now.

thunderonly · 28/04/2022 17:46

Just checking in with everybody and hope you're all doing okay.
Sure I felt some flutters today, I'm 16+3. Anyone else feeling movements ?

Pregnantpolly · 28/04/2022 18:36

@thunderonly that's really exciting! I can't wait to feel movement.

Pregnantpolly · 28/04/2022 18:38

@thunderonly that's really exciting! I can't wait to feel movement.

thunderonly · 28/04/2022 19:51

@Pregnantpolly I'm sure it won't be long !

Anyone else eating like mad ? Nothing seems to hit the spot ! I can be eating and literally thinking about what I'm going to have next. I'm naturally petite but can't see it staying that way at this rate

WildePozy · 28/04/2022 19:54

@Pinktruffle I am the same (15+4) and really starting to show this time round. My last pregnancy was over winter time so lots of baggy jumpers and leggings did the job, but I think i’m going to have to invest in some floaty dresses for Summer.
