Hi all,

Starting thread #2 as our first is nearly full amazingly!

We also have a private Facebook group which @curlywurly3 has kindly set up. So hopefully see you there too Smile

Here's to the nausea, reassurance scans and long waits of the first trimester!

I'm in the same boat re 16w appointment! Had my booking one and was told I need to move to a different mw for my 16w app as they're re-structuring. Phoned them up to be told I'll get a call from someone at some point around the 16w mark?!? Said I've got a busy week that week and unlikely to be able to answer phone randomly after which was promised a pre-call to organise, that was 2w ago and got nothing. So currently don't even have a mw.. Surely that's not normal?

Hi everyone, hope all is well.
Had 16 week scan today and were having a little girl ❤️ over the moon.
So happy she looks healthy and everything seems OK. A little alien pic of her from the 3d scan today attached haha xx

@Kirsike thats appalling on their behalf! Definitely call them because you don’t want to be missing important milestones because they’re restructuring! You’re also allowed to tell them refer you to another midwife then if they can’t support you. The last thing you need right now is extra stress of not knowing if you had a midwife! Fingers crossed for you!

@Smarsh32 congratulations on the scan! 💜

emmajane90 · 23/04/2022 13:07

@Smarsh32 congratulations 💗💗💗

Thank you ❤️❤️

Spent yesterday walking round the shops looking at prams/cots/cribs etc. It seems so early given I'm only 14 weeks but needed to physically see something having only really looked online at things.

Also picked up the Emma's diary bags from Argos and the bounty bag from Tesco - some decent free stuff in both and made the hubby sign up as well so we got two of each; Cupboard is now filling up with nappies 😂🙈😳

I thought the first one was pretty crap ! What are the others like ?
I've been walking round the shops today I'm in so much pain now with my legs 😩

Is anyone else suffering after standing/walking too long?

DogsAndBirds · 23/04/2022 17:17

@thunderonlyhappenswhen I picked up all 3 of the Emma's diary ones as I presumed nothing would go off. I can't quite remember what came in each bag. There was a small pack (22?) of newborn nappies, sudocrem, some handsanitiser, breast pads, breast milk freezer bags, sanitary dailies towels. (Of course a load of vouchers and leaflets some of which were okay - money off pampers and fairy non bio etc)

In the bounty one was just a massive bag of nappies. Like a full size pack.

DogsAndBirds · 24/04/2022 10:03

(Forgot to add there were other things in the Emma's diary bags - wet wipes and pregnacare vitamins etc... just can't remember everything as I've stashed it all away in various areas around the house!)

AmberRH1993 · 25/04/2022 10:17

It's obviously girl season as I had my 16 week scan last week and found out we're having a girl after 7 generations of boys 🎉💕 still seems surreal but I suppose the potty shot doesn't lie?

Pandabuggle · 25/04/2022 11:10

@AmberRH1993 congratulations! Hoping to join the baby girl club, 6yr old son has requested a sister, fingers crossed! Not sure if I'll find out on 5th as it'll be a rescan after my dating scan the tech was unable to get any measurements. I'll be just over 16 weeks then.

Is anyone in this group around Bristol/Bath?

We did a private scan at 16 weeks as my hospital won't confirm any gender until 20 week scan appointment even if they can see the gender 🙄

Yes I did get the pregnacare vitamins, and the teeny tiny sudocrem 😆

Aw congratulations! Yep here come the girls!

thunderonly · 25/04/2022 13:28

Hi everyone are we all doing okay?

16 weeks today, had my midwife appointment and heard babies heartbeat which was lovely. The midwife said my uterus is quite high which probably explains why I've got quite a bump already !
Also blood pressure is on the low side which again explains my dizziness and near fainting episodes, been told to eat every two hours and drink lots of water. Can't stop eating anyway 😆

mistyrae · 25/04/2022 13:30

@Kirsike Exactly the same happened to me! Was booked for a call last week and never happened! Called again they said I’m on the list for this week, they’re short staffed. Asked to call back if I don’t hear from them by Friday when I’ll be 18+ weeks! So stressful when this is your first pregnancy and nobody seems to be telling you anything - also no idea who my midwife is. Didn’t even know which team I was under when I got asked today. X

Yes, first time for me too so not great. Hope they get it sorted soon for you! @xMari thanks!
Was going to chase them this week but ended up getting a call today, turns out my mw was on annual leave hence the delay. She was actually really nice and explained quite a few things so def feel better now. Turns out I'll be seeing a hospital mw at my consultant app next week so will be skipping her appointment. Provided all well will continue with the community one from 22wk onwards . Had no clue about any of this beforehand!
Lastly, as someone previously mentioned - turns out walking 3.5 miles at 14wk equals with about the same soreness/stiffness as running a 10k without a proper warmup/cool down apparently!! 😅

xMari · 26/04/2022 00:20

@Kirsike glad you finally heard from her! Huge coincidence that my midwife just got off annual leave also… there’s no way we have the same one right? LOL

ploopypleepy · 26/04/2022 08:45

My stepson has just come out with chicken pox .... really worried now even though I had it when I was younger. The complications for the baby are awful 😞 fingers crossed I'm immune !

Pregnantpolly · 26/04/2022 10:18

Ahhh even feeling fine makes me worry. Today I feel good with no cramps or any ailments and I'm having worries about that. I don't feel pregnant. I did paddleboarding last night and had a slight fall from being on knees to my bum. Was grand but still.

Vie8126 · 26/04/2022 10:25

Hope everyone is good! Congrats on the baby girls seems a lot of them so far! I have a private gender scan Friday, convinced it's another boy not long to go now! Symptoms been full force recently back came the sickness, exhaustion and painful boobs not sure where that's come back from but would like it to disappear again! 2 weeks left of mat leave and back to work dreading the manic mornings and home times of drop offs and collections whilst feeling like crap also not sure how I am going to stay awake as come 1pm I'm struggling to keep my eyes open lol.
