@SouthwestSis my very best friend came over for one last coffee on Saturday before we began isolating ready for induction. She had PCRed two days before and LFTed every day but then tested positive Sunday morning.

We kept our distance the whole time but sat in the same room. It's just sods law!

Induction is related to high (but medicated) blood pressure so it may be that they're okay to delay a day or two (taking me past the new 5 day isolation) as long as I continue to monitor BP.

And just keeping fingers and toes crossed that DP doesn't catch it off me now!
We've just been through the same. Thankfully, and by some huge miracle, DH managed to avoid it in a house full of covid and can be at the birth tomorrow!

All my fingers are crossed for you @FebBabyNo1 and I hope all goes well when the time comes Thanks

FebBabyNo1 · 26/01/2022 23:54

@Skybooks thank you so much for your message Star

Spoke with my consultant at the hopsital and my midwife team today. Supplied with all sorts of machines and contraptions and medicines to monitor me and feeling very well looked after.

Hospital offered a postponed induction date so we have everything crossed that DP stays negative and makes the date!

Thank you again xx

FebBabyNo1 · 26/01/2022 23:57

@MollyQueenOfSocks oh I'm so, so pleased for you both!! Thank you for sharing your positive experience and I hope it all goes well tomorrow! xxx

Skybooks · 27/01/2022 06:14

@febbabyno1 I also meant to add I caught it from DS but DH had been around us the whole time wfh, didn't isolate and hasn't caught it.

Glad hospital are looking after you, good luck.

So I had my growth and consultant yesterday! On the growth scan her femur length has now dropped below the lower line so have to see a foetal growth specialist. The consultant doesn't seem to be concerned as I'm only 4ft 8 and partner only 5ft 10. Has anyone had any experience with this and know what's coming? I'm getting really worried now that something is wrong! Consultant has said that if the growth doctors are happy then I don't need to be induced early but still waiting on a call from them to book me in which consultant said would 'hopefully' be before I see him again in two weeks!

apricotoreos · 27/01/2022 20:30

Hi all, congratulations to those who have their little ones earth side now!

I had my ECV, it was very very painful and I am bruised now but they did turn him successfully thank God! Now he just needs to stay that way! I knew that some people do find it painful and I am glad I went for it and grit my teeth but its made me wonder how I will cope with labor. I always thought my pain tolerance was pretty good but now I am thinking perhaps I should put I am open to an epidural on my birth plan Blush first baby so honestly I have no idea how well I will cope but feel like I have been living in a haze of false confidence till now.

@BabyFeb22 for most of my pregnancy his legs have been measuring short but in my last growth scan they suddenly caught up more or less with the rest of him. His Dad has quite a long torso and shorter legs so I wasn't too concerned and neither were they so fingers crossed for you

Jeffers5 · 28/01/2022 00:59

Had my scan and consultants appointment today due to a low lying placenta.
The placenta hasn’t moved enough so I’ve got a c-section booked for the 7th! Now to get everything ready and pray I don’t go into labour early!

Sunshine8888 · 28/01/2022 01:47

My sweep was successful… went into early labour Tuesday evening and Oscar was born yesterday at 38+3 weighing a very healthy 8lbs 3oz. Labour was long and horrific as the not so little baby turned out to be back to back with a huge head (37cm) but the most important thing is he’s here safe and sound! We were both discharged today so home and ready to begin our adventures as a family of 4 💙

swiggles · 28/01/2022 02:56

Congratulations to @Sunshine8888 and all the others with little ones born already- so exciting!!
I am at 37 weeks, eagerly waiting consultant appointment on Tuesday to discuss birth plan as had ECS after induction with my first pregnancy I would love to wait for natural labour to start this time as have not had any complications this time. Anyone on here with similar plans or experiences? Have been reading lots of VBAC positive birth stories to get me feeling positive!
X

becarefuloutthere · 28/01/2022 08:57

@Sunshine8888 congratulations 🥳 so pleased all went well and you're back home! My baby is back to back too and I've been told not to panic. They couldn't measure her head at 36 weeks as she was too low down already. Was it really tough birthing a back to back baby compared to the right way round? Feeling a bit unsure on what to do if she doesn't turn in time...

Winterfellismyhome · 28/01/2022 10:56

Congratulations @Sunshine8888 !

@Sunshine8888 congratulations!! Lovely news. Hope you're recovering well.

@BabyFeb22 I had this with short femurs, and he's here now and his legs are fine. He measured normal for height.

What centile are you, or how many weeks are they measuring behind? Mine were between 3rd and 8th centile depending on the scan, and roughly two weeks behind. FMU said if there are issues, they normally measure very significantly behind, and not just a couple weeks. The FMU scan will examine for other markers, so the skeleton, the rib cage (babies with dysplasia apparently have narrow rib cages), bossing on the skull, bowing of the bones etc and the heart and kidneys. Short femurs on their own are not very reliable markers of any issues apparently. Good luck, the FMU drs are great and hopefully will put your mind at rest.

@becarefuloutthere I had back to back and it was painful but also okay. So if he doesn't turn, don't worry. Just to be aware, the contractions go down the front and also down the back, so it feels like you're needing to poop rather than in labour. Anyway for me active pushing was less than an hour and a half and I didn't need interventions or have tears etc. The midwives said afterwards (we didn't know he was back to back) that pain relief might need to be more sorted for back to back, so maybe have a think about what you might want in advance if he doesn't turn.

Sleepyquest · 28/01/2022 12:08

Congrats @Sunshine8888 !!

becarefuloutthere · 28/01/2022 12:53

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you. I'm thinking epidural anyway tbh, this has probably made my mind up though! X

Winterfellismyhome · 28/01/2022 15:20

So, so far we have 2 boys and a girl? Anyone else feeling like its going to be soon?

BabyFeb22 · 28/01/2022 16:39

Congratulations @Sunshine8888!!
@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thank you they've called today to say it will be Monday so I'll see how it goes.

I feel like I'm getting cramping in my back but not all the time, she is fully head down and back to back with my placenta at the front so I don't know if it's just her position that's making me more uncomfortable!

becarefuloutthere · 28/01/2022 19:41

@BabyFeb22 I constantly feel her limbs with her being back to back, gets uncomfortable. My placenta is high though. So is your consultant call on Monday right?

laalaaleelee · 28/01/2022 20:04

Anyone else suffering with the WORST flatulence? I just can't stop. And the smell is 🤢🤢🤢

BabyFeb22 · 28/01/2022 21:27

@becarefuloutthere So I have the scan with the FMU Monday then back with my consultant the week after. I'm hoping I get answers on Monday as the consultant has already said as long as they are happy then he doesn't need me to be induced early. Although with how uncomfortable I am the thought of another nearly 5 weeks is daunting!

Winnie87 · 29/01/2022 00:33

I had my little boy on Wednesday night from a 2 day induction. Weighing healthy 8lb 8oz. Feels very surreal. Totally worth it ❤️

Sunshine8888 · 29/01/2022 02:14

@becarefuloutthere yes so being completely honest his position made labour very long and slow. It also meant I had content pressure on my back which did not go away between contractions so the pain became unbearable. I tried to have an epidural but it only worked on one side. It was looking like forceps would be needed to get him out but thankfully he turned as he came down so I did eventually manage. I didn’t have any pain relief when I had my daughter and she came very quickly so I really wasn’t expecting such a difficult second birth! Anyway at least he’s here now and we’re both ok - I’m grateful to have got away with just a few stitches.

Currently heading into the 6th hour of continuous newborn cluster feeding. Really hoping this will settle once my milk is fully in as being awake feeding all night is taking its toll - soooo exhausted and my boobs are super sore!!!

haidri · 29/01/2022 02:54

I'm 38+1, and it's day 4 of loose stools. Why am I not in labour yet 🤦🏻‍♀️ no mucus plug released but plenty of Braxton hicks. For a first time mum, this baby has me on edge!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 29/01/2022 03:04

I've finally managed to see a consultant who will agree my ELCS. Unfortunately as they've delayed so much the only date available is 3 days before my due date but there's talk of admitting me on Monday - almost 2wks before the CS.
Apparently there's too much danger over unstable lie and it's too risky for me not to be in hospital as I don't live close enough if my waters break and the cord gets dragged out. Have managed to agree that they wait until after my scan Monday to make a decision. I can't take 2wks stuck on a ward, it'll drive me mad plus I don't have childcare for my toddler when my DP is at work (they won't give him time off if I'm in hospital).
Also found out that they forgot to put me on blood thinners, so they had a panic about that and decided I have to inject daily from now on.

Winterfellismyhome · 29/01/2022 03:48

Congratulations @Winnie87 💙
