Hi all I hope I've done this right.

@fejkalove just catching up I haven't noticed anything on my notes although my BMI is in over weight category too which was brought up by the midwife but they haven't seemed too concerned at scans. Let us know how you get on! I've got a growth scan on Monday as seeing a consultant so maybe they'll mention it to me then as well.

@luckygreenduck I've had morning sickness again too, when I first got covid last week my taste and smell went and the sickness seemed to go too but it's back with a vengeance the last couple of days!
Also been incredibly tired which I put down to covid but I think is just pregnancy!

@YfenniChristie that sounds stressful, hope it all works out ok

@YfenniChristie

Morning ladies. I'm currently sat in a hospital waiting room.

Had my 34 week community midwife appointment this morning, and my blood pressure is high. It's usually on the high side of normal anyway, but she's not happy with it so I've sent to the hospital for observation .

I have been thoroughly questioned on pre-eclampsia symptoms, none of which I'm experiencing (and not sure I appreciated it being described as "denies" over the phone when she spoke to the hospital).

Not sure how I'm feeling. Trying my best to stay calm cause I don't want to stress and get my blood pressure even higher. I'm now trying to think of everything I've done in the last 12hrs from lack of sleep to what I've eaten so see if that might have had an impact.

Ah hope you're okay! This happened me last time but once I was on the monitor at hospital the readings came back normal so was sent home. Until 38 weeks when it went crazy again and was pre-eclampsia with absolutely no symptoms. Except the high BP and then protein in urine appeared.

So hopefully it's just a blip for you and a day or two of rest helps bring it back down again.

YfenniChristie · 31/03/2022 12:26

Well, they've taken my blood pressure again and it's all fine. Listened to the baby's heartbeat and that's also fine. Been sent back to the waiting room while they find me a bed so they can observe some more.

DH wants to be with me but sodding restrictions means he can't. I also realise I only have a bottle of water and no food with me. 🤦🏼‍♀️

GinnyBee · 31/03/2022 13:44

Isn't it lovely being pregnant, y'all! 😒 If it's not SPD then it's low/high BP, or low iron, or rib flare, or HG, or GD, or heartburn, or low/high amniotic fluid, small/big baby prompting growth scans, reduced movement, low lying placenta, back ache, aching feet, insomnia, constipation, piles, diastasis recti... and that's all BEFORE everything that can happen during birth.

It's a wonder humans still willingly put themselves through this! Sometimes spending years planning and trying. 😂

Bubbasmama2017 · 31/03/2022 15:03

Yep @GinnyBee it's a wild ride!
I'm insanely tired today and yesterday, really struggling to get through work only 2 more weeks then I'm on maternity leave but have my daughter home part time so no rest on those days lol
Also been worrying again about movements, still don't feel like there is a pattern to when baby girl moves. I feel her every day but can go 6 hours sometimes without feeling a single movement is anyone else like this?

This made me laugh and cheered me up no end love it 🙊

@Bubbasmama2017 sounds like you have your hands full your doing well hopefully you get to rest when your off your leave. I can have maybe 2 hours without any movements, if your concerned why don't you speak to your community midwife or the those at triage best to get reassurance if you worried and you feel like movement could reduced x

JMill13 · 31/03/2022 17:20

@GinnyBee 😂😂 so true. Been asking myself today why am I doing this again for a second time! 🙈

Duno how I'm making it another 2 weeks of work, I'm completely busted after today.

@Bubbasmama2017 you got this. Call your midwife if you're worried at all. My last go round after about 19 weeks I never felt my little boy until he was born. The amount of panic and anxiety I used to have to get my OH to lay his ear on my belly to reassure me all was well or I'd have been at hospital every day. This time this little one is an absolute terror and hardly stops moving.

Bubbasmama2017 · 31/03/2022 17:34

@YummyMummyXoX and @jmill13 thanks for the reassurance, I swear I'd be at the day unit every other day if I could! Just wish I could feel her move a bit more regularly. Hopefully it means she's a calm baby? Lol doubt it
When is everyone finishing for maternity leave?

OP posts:
JMill13 · 31/03/2022 20:17

@Bubbasmama2017 ha think most of us would!

I'm all set to finish on the 15th April but starting to wonder if I should just finish next week if I can get everything tidied up. My manager won't be happy about it but I think I need to. Unless she lets me wfh for 2 weeks. When are you due to finish?

I've felt very like I'm due on today, it's so strange. I duno if that's normal or if I'm being paranoid or am I going
To end up in early labour? (Hope not that one as only 33 weeks) Any one any ideas?

YummyMummyXoX · 31/03/2022 20:25

@JMill13 the 15ths my birthday 😬 I think someone might go into labour lol. There's some ladies that are like 35 weeks now so I'm confident! X

Bubbasmama2017 · 31/03/2022 21:01

@JMill13 I'm finishing that day too (34 weeks at the moment) I work from home anyway but wishing I had said I would finish next week instead!
Do you feel crampy? I've had a few days where I've had a different kind of back pain and got worried! Had some Braxton Hicks in the night and got worried about that too lol I reckon I'll be over due though

OP posts:
JMill13 · 31/03/2022 21:19

@YummyMummyXoX hopefully it's not me 😂 my OHs mum would kill me, her and his dad go on holiday on the 14th and she's already worried I'll go while they're away.

@Bubbasmama2017 glad I'm not the only one that wishes they finish next week. It's like the stage prior to cramps so not quite cramps, it's the weirdest feeling and making me feel like I need to wee every 5 minutes. What makes you think you'll be overdue?
I'm back at the consultant on the 11th so will be getting my section date then. Feels like it's all coming in so fast.

Bubbasmama2017 · 31/03/2022 21:28

@JMill13 just think it will be sods law that she'll arrive late and keep us waiting! I had my daughter at 38 weeks but was induced with her and it took quite a while so I don't think she was ready to come!

OP posts:
JMill13 · 31/03/2022 21:39

@Bubbasmama2017 ah yeah, hopefully she doesn't make you wait too long. They definitely just get too comfy in there don't they.

YummyMummyXoX · 31/03/2022 21:57

@JMill13 ok hopefully you can hang fire til they are back. I am so excited for us all and can't believe it's April in 2 hours!!! X

YfenniChristie · 31/03/2022 22:13

Evening everyone. Was finally discharged from the hospital at 6pm!

All blood pressure readings were normal, baby's heartbeat was normal, baby's movements were normal.

Have been discharged with no further concerns, but do have to go back on Sunday and Thursday to have my blood pressure taken again.

fejkalove · 31/03/2022 22:43

Agree if you're concerned to call the midwife but I also don't have a pattern - this one seems to have always had days where she's quieter than others, today she's barely stopped which always makes me worry that tomorrow she will be quieter and I'll be prodding and poking (or if I have a bath she usually goes mad!)
GinnyBee · 01/04/2022 20:27

Baby Thor decided to play a little April Fool's on me today! I usually feel a couple nudges when I first wake up, but not today. I felt a gentle tug when I was having breakfast so that reassured me a bit. Then I had to get on with my day, and I usually don't feel him when up and about, but he generally wakes up after I have lunch. So I had lunch and a couple squares of chocolate for dessert, and nothing, two very faint nudges. Lied down for a quick nap, which is again a usual time for him to start wiggling about, and still nothing. Rang triage, they booked me in straight away, and pretty much as soon as I was hooked up to the monitor he decided to have a rave 🤦🏼‍♀️

I think he must be hiding behind my placenta a little bit as the gadget was recording a lot more movement than I could feel. He's been more active all evening again though.

Kittycaz · 02/04/2022 09:10

@GinnyBee theyre little rascals aren't they. Mine makes me out yo be a liar all the time. I see him bouncing around and feel his strong movements and when I'm with friends family I'm like quick pur you hand on he then decides to be super still like a ninja 😂

My DH was really mean yesterday he rang my MIL early in morning and told her I'd given birth she started crying on the phone was really happy asked how much he weighed and my DH started laughing couldn't keep up the charade and told her April fools she then hung up the phone on him. I sent my DH to her house to make sure she was OK but I said to him now she won't believe us when he does make an appearance 😂 have a good weekend everyone x

YfenniChristie · 03/04/2022 12:28

@Kittycaz Mine does this! Baby starts having a rave, and every time I let my husband know and outs his hand on my belly they go quiet! 😂

Was back at the hospital this morning for a blood pressure check, and everything measured normal again. In fact this time it measured 130/70 which is probably the lowest it's ever been!

Kittycaz · 04/04/2022 16:31

Hey ladies just got back from hospital was in there a long time again. They scanned me and liquor is still high so they took me through to consultant who has booked me back in on 20th for a scan but said if my fluid is high then he's gonna get him out. So I may have my baby around 20 days time I'm so excited. He's warned me if my waters break I gotta go on all 4s and ring ambulance to take me to hospital to prevent cord prolapse. Also he's measuring above the 90th gentile now so he's gonna be a big baby. X

YummyMummyXoX · 04/04/2022 16:53

@Kittycaz I'm glad your being monitored often and there's a plan in place. Hope you and your baby are doing ok otherwise 💕

So as Id worked out from readings now have GD on top of the blood disorder caused by the steroids, had a GTT weeks ago before steroids which was negative. I'll be diet and medically managed so now up to 12 tabs a day hopefully they don't get increased!
No more excess carbs, fat and sugar for me lol. I'm glad Ive been eating exactly what I wanted after months of not eating with HG and now restrictions it's not such a big blow. I've put on only 2kg up to now which is all baby placenta and fluid gotta try look at the positives where I can else I'll just cry 😕❤️ have a growth scan next week I suspect they'll cancel the one for the week after and consultant in 3 weeks then induced after that.... it's really not long! x

GinnyBee · 04/04/2022 17:14

Sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations @Kittycaz and @YummyMummyXoX !

It really isn't long now, I'm starting to freak out! 🙈 Five-ish weeks for me, will hopefully get my c-section date on Thursday at my consultant appointment. And five weeks will soon be one month, then two weeks, and then it's time!

Have you all had a discussion with your partners about visiting after the birth and set some rules? We haven't yet but will need to soon I guess. My in-laws live right next door so some boundaries are needed. They're not intrusive openly, but sometimes they've told hubby if we haven't had them over for dinner for a while that they feel excluded and would like to see us more, so whilst I'm not worried they'll walk in without invitation, I don't want them making DH feel guilty about not having them over all the time. This is their first grandchild so they are justifiably excited, but I don't want to be pestered into having people over before I'm ready 🙈

Kittycaz · 04/04/2022 17:35

@GinnyBee me and my husband discussed it and decided that my mum can bring me home from hospital so she can meet her first grandchild but it's only gonna be for the 20 minute car ride. Then I'm having 2 weeks of staying in DH will do everything while I stay in with LO. Then after 2 weeks DH LO and I will go for short walks in Park to get my stamina back and fresh air. Then from 5 weeks we will start making arrangements to meet his family and my family. I don't want to rush into anything. I've just been to aldi and brought 5 packs of newborn nappies ready for self isolation period.

@YummyMummyXoX I'm sorry to hear you got GD at least they keeping an eye on you to. Not long til we meet our beautiful babies x

YfenniChristie · 04/04/2022 18:54

@GinnyBee We've decided that (ideally) there will be no visitors for 2 weeks, and it'll just be us and baby. My sister and BIL will be moving in with my parents for a bit as well so we acclimatise to the new arrival.

I know my parents and family are on board. But I'm not sure about the in-laws.
