Hi all I hope I've done this right.

@fejkalove just catching up I haven't noticed anything on my notes although my BMI is in over weight category too which was brought up by the midwife but they haven't seemed too concerned at scans. Let us know how you get on! I've got a growth scan on Monday as seeing a consultant so maybe they'll mention it to me then as well.

@luckygreenduck I've had morning sickness again too, when I first got covid last week my taste and smell went and the sickness seemed to go too but it's back with a vengeance the last couple of days!
Also been incredibly tired which I put down to covid but I think is just pregnancy!

I'm so ready for baby to come now, 32 weeks and while her room isn't ready in the slightest and I've not packed a bag for hospital I'm just ready to meet her and not be achy all the time lol

Sorry for the double post I clicked post too soon!

@Kittycaz I like those and nursing bra! I've loads of vest for easy feeding access too

So tmi but these pants are so comfy George are really impressing me and for peanuts too 🙂

I've also got the dress for my baby shower (which I'm being forced to have lol) think people just want me to celebrate instead of the just memories of being ill and carted off to hosp every 5 mins which is understandable but I don't want the fuss. Am I the only one that's like this? Or does anyone enjoy big celebrations?

@Bubbasmama2017 I'm ready now I think mentally you get to a place where you just want to hold your baby after all the weeks and symptoms and growing and kicking and scans and appointments! X

Kittycaz · 16/03/2022 21:01

@YummyMummyXoX I haven't had a baby shower and don't really want one either. I'd just be happy for family and friends to meet him when he's born. Those pants do look comfy was planning on raiding primark for some tomorrow but might order them from George. X

Bubbasmama2017 · 16/03/2022 21:07

@YummyMummyXoX yep that's how I feel too, I've had a few extra scans because of reduced movements and I'm glad baby is safe but I just want to meet them properly!

Anyone else struggling to get hold of lateral flow tests? I haven't been able to get any on the government website for the last couple of days.

YummyMummyXoX · 16/03/2022 22:02

@Kittycaz so glad I'm not the only one who likes low key. Just gonna have a few hours then be done with it huff lol.
@Bubbasmama2017 could've wrote this myself. Not long at all now your 32 weeks 🥰 will have our babies very soon x

Kittycaz · 16/03/2022 22:19

@SouthwestSis I ordered a pack two days ago and they came today so not to bad here but I think it depends where u are in country. X

So, I had some pink spotting when I went to the toilet yesterday. It was recommended that I get a check up at triage the same day so I did. They did a urine sample, monitored babies movements for about 30 minutes, took at a look at my cervix and a swab from down there. They said everything was fine but then I had spotting soon after the swab. I only had pink spotting once all of that day so I think it was due to the swab that caused the second bit of pink spotting. Bit scary though as they initially kept saying that it could be due to the start of an early labour. Hoping it won't happen again unless I'm a lot closer to 37 weeks! Has anyone else had pink spotting recently? X

Kittycaz · 17/03/2022 09:57

@H0peing I haven't maybe ur cervix was irritated from the swabs. Definatley keep chasing it up though if it continues.

I feel huge this morning my 1st stretch marks are popping up which makes me sad as I've been using palmers since 20 weeks. Got a few red marks on my tummy I know it's worth it.

Morning, just wanted to say that the Positive Birth Company Digital Hypnobirthing Pack is £12 (reduced from £39) for today only! We bought it weeks ago and still working our way through it (so many videos!) but it has helped me with confidence around giving birth. Would recommend!

H0peing · 17/03/2022 15:34

@Kittycaz Yes, I think the swab irritated my cervix. It only happened just after the swab yesterday evening. I'm all clear today, thankfully! I've been using almond oil and that seems to be working so far. No stretch marks at the moment and my belly is definitely big. Xx

H0peing · 17/03/2022 15:35

@Sarah239 Thanks! I've just bought it! Just need to make sure I make an effort to complete the course now! I think it will help :)

We're back from our weekend away (well, got back Tuesday but have been busy since) and I so wish we could've stayed longer! Still managing nice walks with the dog - 2-3 hours around Peak District so ups and downs and I didn't start aching! I'm so pleased. My knee was giving me a bit of trouble towards the end of one walk I went on by myself and the dog, but I reckon that's because he pulls a bit so that was tilting me off balance. The harder walk we all did together was all fine as husband was holding the lead (he absolutely cannot be trusted off lead, so is always on a long line).

Have had my 31 week midwife appointment just now and I had ketones in my urine again. I had them back in January as well, and both times it's happened 1-2 hours after I've had lunch. Never at a morning appointment! So weird, does anyone have any guesses why? Ketones would usually appear after fasting or not eating enough carbs, but I had chocolate after lunch 😂

I'm slightly ticked off by my colleague who is supposed to take over my role when I finish in two weeks. I work from home mostly, but have been going in once a week for a half day to run through what I do. I'm a bookkeeper and he has zero experience of bookkeeping, but it's a small set of accounts and a really easy set of tasks. All is fine when I'm in and talking him through what to do, but whenever I try to send him stuff to do when I'm at home to get him to practice while I'm still available for questions he does fuck all, doesn't even reply to emails when I've asked to let me know if he's too busy for whatever I've asked him to do so that I can do it myself. And I know he's not too busy because he spends most of his time at work just doodling in his notebook. But, I guess it's not my problem. He will have a shock when I'm actually off and he has to fend for himself.

Lovely bump @Kittycaz! Don't worry about the stretch marks, they'll fade. I've always got them a bit later in pregnancy, so I don't have any just yet but I'm sure they'll appear in a few weeks.

My bump must have really popped this week as DD's swimming teacher congratulated me and said she'd only just realised that I was expecting! I have to go into the water with DD (wearing a swimsuit) so I'm not hiding the bump under baggy clothes - I thought it had been obvious for a while but I guess not!

I've bought almost all my basic baby clothes from Asda George! I've found them to be good value in the past and it's one of the few places I've found that does multipacks of plain white vests/sleepsuits with no slogans.

Glad you enjoyed your mini break @GinnyBee, I think it's lovely to have a little break as a couple before the baby's here. I'm impressed with all that walking! I'm doing a fair bit of walking daily just because we don't drive and I struggle with it a bit.

SerendipitySunshine · 18/03/2022 17:19

I've given up on stretch marks. No idea what will be left of my body after this but it'll be worth it for the baby!

Luckygreenduck · 19/03/2022 00:56

Anyone else awake? I am in hospital for observations after a bleed yesterday morning. I think everything is ok now though.
The other ladies on the ward are all in early labour and it's not filling me with confidence! No idea how to sleep and stay calm when I can hear people in pain all around me. They are all doing amazing but I just want my own bed! Praying I can go home tomorrow.

Sarah239 · 19/03/2022 06:52

@Luckygreenduck I hope all is ok for you and you can get home soon safely. I was in hospital (only for a few hours) on Monday as I was concerned about elevated heart rate. It's still kind of high (normal/sitting HR seems to be about 90-100 throughout the day) but has settled a bit. Just measured it after waking up and it was 73.

I didn't come across anyone in early labour though! That must be a little disconcerting to hear. Hope you managed to get some rest x

GinnyBee · 19/03/2022 07:48

I miraculously don't have any stretch marks yet, I was expecting to get them. I guess there's still time! It's largely down to genetics whether you get them, and I had them on my hips and boobs when I was going through puberty, so clearly my skin at least used to be prone to scarring.

@Luckygreenduck Hope all is well with you and the little one!

Kittycaz · 19/03/2022 08:16

@Luckygreenduck I hope all is well with you and LO Flowers

H0peing · 19/03/2022 08:34

@Luckygreenduck How are you now? I hope you're able to go home today. Xx

H0peing · 19/03/2022 08:36

@YummyMummyXoX I just saw this and thought of what you've been through. Wondered if you can get some kind of compensation: www.gov.uk/vaccine-damage-payment
