Hi all I hope I've done this right.

@fejkalove just catching up I haven't noticed anything on my notes although my BMI is in over weight category too which was brought up by the midwife but they haven't seemed too concerned at scans. Let us know how you get on! I've got a growth scan on Monday as seeing a consultant so maybe they'll mention it to me then as well.

@luckygreenduck I've had morning sickness again too, when I first got covid last week my taste and smell went and the sickness seemed to go too but it's back with a vengeance the last couple of days!
Also been incredibly tired which I put down to covid but I think is just pregnancy!

@TashieWoo my belly button has kinda popped around the edges so not gone like full outie. I think it different for different people. The line I've been told I'm less likely to have it as I'm really pale, but it will be nice to see it if it does end up there.

itssquidstella · 28/01/2022 18:50

@TashieWoo I’ve always had a really deep belly button (like a slit, can't see the bottom!) and it's widened and flattened, although it's still concave. I do have a faint brown line running down my stomach, though.

YummyMummyXoX · 28/01/2022 20:31

@TashieWoo I'm a bit spaced out and deflated now tbh they are moving me to a haematology/oncology ward and there's also Covid people on here x

Kittycaz · 28/01/2022 20:38

@YummyMummyXoX I hope they keep u well away from them and you have different staff. Its wrong to put you with them when your pregnant. Are u vaccinated?

YummyMummyXoX · 28/01/2022 20:43

@Kittycaz I am hoping it's different staff, but can't be sure as it's very busy on here. I've had first vaccine last month and haematologist consultant feels this is all due to the vaccine as I had bloods before and they were fine and since then they've been so dangerously abnormal. He said the vaccine almost resets your immune system to behave differently and mine has sort of started attacking itself as an immune response. X

TashieWoo · 28/01/2022 21:11

I’m sorry @YummyMummyXoX, not good that they’re putting you on a ward with Covid patients but hopefully they will be in their own rooms. And I hope they take good care of you over the weekend and you can go home to your husband & son soon. Are the infusions helping you to feel a bit better at least? Sending strength xx

morphe · 28/01/2022 23:41

Oh no @YummyMummyXoX I wouldn't be too happy with being on the same ward as people with Covid, especially not being fully vaxxed and pregnant. I don't know what you could do about it though, I expect they just don't have the room to move you. Do patients wear masks on the ward? I'd be wearing a FFP2/3 mask if you can get hold of one. Having said that, I had a 9 hour flight a few weeks ago during the Omicron peak and we got pinged because someone must have been positive on the flight, but we never tested positive (and there were quite a few people not wearing masks on the flight). Interesting what your consultant said about the vaccine. I just hope you can go home soon.

@Kittycaz my belly button is starting to pop but not quite there yet. I do have the line across my belly - I don't like how it looks really!

Today I picked up a carrycot to slot on our pushchair - one and a half hour round trip to pick it up as it was an Ebay deal and had to carry it half a mile back to the tube, but happy to tick one thing off the list. I don't know how much we'll end up using it as DD preferred being in a carrier when she was small, but it was so cheap that I thought it would be worth having even if it only gets used a few times.

fattycatty82 · 29/01/2022 05:04

Just when I thought the insomnia was easing off I woke at 3am feeling alert and starving hungry. I've been tiptoeing around our creaky old house eating weetabix! Seems to happen more at weekends for some reason... at least I don't have to do much tomorrow I just have an eye test in town at midday. Ahh but it's so frustrating!!

Baby is moving a lot last few days, seems very active in the evening and at night and some kicks and turns have been quite full on! I've been enjoying it, like she's already here in some ways 🥰

YummyMummyXoX · 29/01/2022 08:03

I had it booked to get my 2nd vaccine. I've already had Covid in my pregnancy and was unvaccinated and recovered. Afterwards I had my bloods and everything was as it should be. Now this since the vaccine. They're saying it's to dangerous for me to even attempt going home before Monday. Because of my reaction to it I'm glad I'm not double/triple jabbed as my baby would've been at more risk, If left unassessed I could've not even progressed into 3rd trimester to worry about contracting Covid again.
I think if a substance can do this to your body in your pregnancy and hospitalises you disrupts your routine, work, takes you away from your child it really makes you feel differently when you were otherwise healthy before X

GinnyBee · 29/01/2022 09:48

@YummyMummyXoX Hope you get some soon! Not ideal being on the same ward as covid people, I would not be happy! Such bad luck with the vaccine too, what a kick in the nuts!

My chest pain is noticeably better today! Not gone, and I still feel fairly delicate, but I definitely now think it's just a flare up of costochondritis or something like that. When they ring me on Monday to schedule the lung scan I might actually tell them I don't want it. Gonna take it easy today and not do anything vigorous to aggravate it and hopefully it'll be gone soon! I had some paracetamol before bed to help me sleep better and I think that has helped - whilst it's not an anti-inflammatory I think it might have given the muscles a little break and helped them relax by taking the pain away and it hasn't come back as intense at all.

Kittycaz · 29/01/2022 10:06

Oh god @YummyMummyXoX how are you today? When I found out last Feb I was expecting for first time I was so excited but a bit scared as had the astrazeneca vaccine 3 days before finding out I was pregnant. (as I'm a carer was given it quite early) so when I had my mmc mid April and the nurses scanned me they said there was a blood clot behind babies brain, bearing in mind what was all in news at that point that astrazeneca can cause blood clots in younger people. So when it came round to having my booster this December is was absolutely petrified. They offered me it in October and I put it off til I was past 20 weeks. They gave me the Pfizer this time and it was allot different but everyone is different. I know people who have had vaccine just to become seriously ill and I know people who caught covid at 85 and most likely cuz of vaccine they survived. Have you ever had an issue with your immune system before?

@GinnyBee I'm really glad to hear your feeling better today try to take it easy.

YummyMummyXoX · 29/01/2022 10:09

You think your doing the best thing for you and your baby but everyone is different and bodies react differently. I've been advised that it's best not to have the others as I'm now probably going to be exempt as an under developing a blood disorder following vaccination. The haematology ward have said I'm not the first pregnant lady that has ended up here under following vaccination, many much further along than me. It's a shame they only publicise the benefits. I feel the same today my blood cells are still pretty much the same as they were days ago they are going to check again today.
I will now have extra antenatal appointments and scans as well as haematology appointments throughout the week until delivery!
I think work are now putting me on medical suspension because I need to be available for all these apps and probably not going to be well enough for my patients x

YummyMummyXoX · 29/01/2022 10:12

Lol so many typos in my last post that's how spaced out I'm getting.
I hope all you mummies and mums to be are well so exciting to hear everyone's planning coming along nicely ❤️

aNewYorkerInLondon · 29/01/2022 10:19

Hey ladies, my parents are visiting from the States for the first time (I haven't seen them since July 2019) and I'm trying to think of covid-safe things to do in London, but it's rather cold and my mother needs a knee replacement so she's not as mobile as usual. I'm totally at a loss for ideas! We had a nice dinner last night at a restaurant in the city that has individual heated "cabins" on the rooftop so you're not mixing in with other people. It was great but I can't think of anything else! Any ideas?

@YummyMummyXoX, so scary! I hope that Monday comes quickly and that you get to go home!

Kittycaz · 29/01/2022 13:10

@aNewYorkerInLondon maybe see if there is a show on at the theatre that way everyone is sat down and it's warm?

MissM94 · 29/01/2022 13:49

Hello ladies!

I'm just wondering, how many items of each thing we actually need? So how many newborn vests & baby grows, 0-3 vests & baby grows? FTM and I'm lost haha

Kittycaz · 29/01/2022 16:45

@MissM94 I'm a FTM too I've just brought things I like so far. I have 4 long sleeve sleepsuits aged 0-3, 8 short sleeve vests 0-3 and 2 long sleeve 3-6 (just incase LO is quite big) so far. I'm thinking with us having summer babies, that we may need short sleeves more than long. I've got hats, scratch mits, socks and booties as well.

GinnyBee · 29/01/2022 21:03

@MissM94 It's so hard isn't it! I'm probably going to aim to have about 15 sleepsuits and body suits in 0-3 size, as they can get through a few in a day and I don't want to be doing laundry ALL the time! And I figured if he's small when born I can buy more smaller things, although I'll have a few to start with but not too many. With 0-3 he'll wear them eventually so have bought more of those, but with the little ones you just don't know how long they'll be in them. I won't bother with outfits until he's a bit bigger.

Apparently we'll also need like hundreds of muslins and bibs!

Sarah239 · 29/01/2022 23:11

@MissM94 I've heard 14 vests and 14 baby grows! And also that you don't technically need anything else in terms of clothes!

Sarah239 · 29/01/2022 23:22

Currently lying in bed and it feels like baby girl is kicking me in the cervix! Just feels weird and a bit uncomfortable! I wish she'd kick me somewhere else, feels like she's about to break out! Anyone else had this?

fattycatty82 · 29/01/2022 23:27

Haha yes I've had a lot of that lately too @Sarah239 and full on rolls and summersaults most evenings and during the night x

morphe · 29/01/2022 23:31

@YummyMummyXoX I'm sure you have some protection against Covid if you had it recently. It does sound scary and stressful with all the extra monitoring.

@aNewYorkerInLondon maybe a boat ride, on the Thames or canal? We did one a few months ago and it was quite breezy on deck, but a nice way to see the city.
King's Cross has some outdoor things going on like curling and installations.
Viewing experiences like the Orbit (at Stratford) or Sky Garden - some nice places to eat/drink up there?
Galleries like Tate and RA tend to be very quiet on weekday mornings and have higher rate of mask use than other venues.

MissM94 · 30/01/2022 08:41

@Kittycaz yeah! Not knowing what the weather is like is throwing me off haha

@GinnyBee yeah haha it's a nightmare, I have 24 muslins so hoping that's enough! I actually love doing the laundry so I know I'll still be doing that a couple of times a week 😂

@Sarah239 ahh okay! So I have 17 newborn vests, 8 newborn baby grows & 16 0-3 vests, 10 0-3 baby grows.. is that enough or should I get a pack of baby grows in both sizes to be safe? God knows how we've acquired that many newborn vests I think people have bought newborn for us, we've had a few things given to us haha

MissM94 · 30/01/2022 08:59

Just had a cute big spoon cuddle with DP and baby boy kicked his back the whole time 🥰 maybe he wants mummy all to himself 👀😂

fejkalove · 30/01/2022 09:05

Morning all,

Baby has been breech since noticed at the 16 week private scan so all my kicks are very low - it is a really weird feeling down there. I was led in bed last night with the remote resting on my stomach and she must've punched it as it moved, caught one on camera too - made me a little emotional!Smile I must admit I prefer the higher movements!
