Hi all I hope I've done this right.

@fejkalove just catching up I haven't noticed anything on my notes although my BMI is in over weight category too which was brought up by the midwife but they haven't seemed too concerned at scans. Let us know how you get on! I've got a growth scan on Monday as seeing a consultant so maybe they'll mention it to me then as well.

@luckygreenduck I've had morning sickness again too, when I first got covid last week my taste and smell went and the sickness seemed to go too but it's back with a vengeance the last couple of days!
Also been incredibly tired which I put down to covid but I think is just pregnancy!

I hope you feel better soon and that your hospital stay goes quickly @YummyMummyXoX, glad baby is okay too ❤️Flowers

aNewYorkerInLondon · 27/01/2022 14:48

@YummyMummyXoX I hope that you feel better soon!!!💐

YfenniChristie · 27/01/2022 14:51

Oh no! @YummyMummyXoX Hope you're feeling better soon and not in hospital for too long.

DH has his heart set on a particular girl's name and has been pretty open about it. I wasn't a huge fan of the name but it has grown on me, and it means a lot to him.

The most difficult part has been choosing Welsh names that my English in-laws will be able to pronounce. 😄

GinnyBee · 27/01/2022 15:41

@YfenniChristie We had a similar restriction! We needed a name that is both understandable and pronounceable in both English and Finnish. And girl names are a lot easier than boy names, so of course we're having a boy! We also didn't want it to be one of those there will be seven of in the same class, which made it even more complicated. But we've found it now and we're both happy with it! Downside is that I think it's growing in popularity again...

YummyMummyXoX · 27/01/2022 16:18

@GinnyBee @TashieWoo @Bubbasmama2017 thank you I have my phone and sons iPad to watch soaps on later Grin I went to a&e Friday they said my levels were fine and to go home, turns out my levels were even lower fhen than they are now and shouldn't have been sent home so the doctors have out a complaint in. They said today I'm lucky something didn't happen between friday and now.
They've now lied and said I left before my results came back and they tried to call my partner to offer me treatment which we haven't heard from anyone except gp and on call doctor early hours this morning from another hospital. I can't believe they have said all this but putting to the back of my mind as my heart rates quite high and just want to relax! X

itssquidstella · 27/01/2022 16:46

@GinnyBee did you go for a Finnish or an English name?

Kittycaz · 27/01/2022 17:59

I hope everything goes OK @YummyMummyXoX that's horrid that they sent you away from a & e but at least they are monitoring you now Flowers

TashieWoo · 27/01/2022 18:15

Not what you need @YummyMummyXoX and it isn’t fair that they’re covering it up like that, similar has happened to me in the past but not in an emergency situation like yours. The main thing is that you’re being treated now and I hope this problem doesn’t recur for you Flowers

In terms of names - we have had a girl name and boy name picked from the beginning and we are having a girl, so now like some of you we are referring to her by her name, which I really like. Her middle name is my late grandma’s name and her first name is partly my other grandma’s middle name, with a bit of DP’s mum’s name in it. That makes it sound like a made up name but it isn’t! It has a nice shorter version as well.

We are telling close family and friends the name and everyone likes it so far apart from DP’s mum who has suggested something similar. She is being ignored though Wink. She has also made it clear that she would have rather had a grandson after that generation being all girls so far (there are only 2 other biological grandchildren so hardly a strong trend), that is being ignored too!

Minster2012 · 27/01/2022 19:15

@YummyMummyXoX hope it's ok for you, good luck

On the names we aren't telling anyone as I hate ppl having opinions & making you doubt them. My MIL tried to get it out of me the other day but we didn't announce DS's til he was born so she's got no chance 😂we are going with what we had picked out for a girl last time, then a different middle name.

@YfenniChristie are you having a boy or girl or not know? DS's middle name is Bryn which I chose as it means "Hill" which was my maiden name. We aren't Welsh or have any Welsh connections so it wasn't going to be a first name

YfenniChristie · 27/01/2022 20:31

@GinnyBee Did you decide on English or Finnish in the end? DH is British-Indian and we made a deal years back about Indian names for girls and Welsh names for boys - it's hard enough taking pronunciation into consideration, let alone popularity! 🤣

@Minster2012 We won't know until they arrive. DH was keen to find out but I've always wanted it to be a surprise. I love what you did for a middle name - Bryn is lovely!

fejkalove · 28/01/2022 06:31

@YummyMummyXoX sorry to hear you're going through such an ordeal - hope you're on the mend now! Absolutely awful they're trying to cover up Sad

I've had toothache since last night - was putting off calling the dentist as I have an appointment Wednesday but looks like I may have to call when they open. I have real dentist-phobia! Does anyone know if I'll be able to have local anaesthetic for a filling? When I was last pregnant I had problems with my teeth (one dentist did 2 fillings without anaesthesia) which has scarred me for good!

YummyMummyXoX · 28/01/2022 07:04

It's been a rough night my 2nd infusion is just going through 1st started at 1230am. My blood pressure keeps dropping but baby is fine obstetric doctors came to see me at 2am and haematologists yesterday. Listened to her heartbeat and she's been moving lots. Keen to get home. will need to see if this has helped my bloods before I can be discharged but be monitored in the community as if they drop so low again it affects my delivery and pain relief options. My nurse has been really lovely all night ❤️

Minster2012 · 28/01/2022 08:08

@fejkalove I'm at the dentist today too, need to find my maternity exemption email, I couldn't do a filing without anaesthetic but DH can

@YfenniChristie awww so nice, have you got your girls name sorted?

@YummyMummyXoX so pleased she's all ok really hope you can get home today

GinnyBee · 28/01/2022 09:00

@itssquidstella @YfenniChristie It's an English name but could pass as a name in Finland too so shouldn't be too baffling for my side of the family. It has an 'R' in it and the Finnish rolling R will be the only difference in pronunciation as well. For a middle name we've gone with my dad's childhood nickname that all his friends called him his whole life, which is definitely an English name for reasons I don't even know. He passed in 2014.

I have a GP appointment at 12 today because of the weird pressure on my chest as I don't think it's just normal anymore, the left side is really quite painful at night, and uncomfortable all day. I can't lie on my left at all, it travels up my neck then and the only time I don't feel it is when I lie on my right which of course gets uncomfortable after a while too so I kept waking up at night with hip pain. Hope they can suggest something that helps!

fattycatty82 · 28/01/2022 09:30

@YummyMummyXoX I hope you get better soon, glad your nurse was kind as I bet that makes all the difference xx

@fejkalove tooth ache is the worst. Ive had terrible bleeding gums but went to see the hygienist the other week and she told me I have to keep going with the flossing as much as I hate it. I also need two fillings replaced but dentist said I should wait until after the baby is born. At least we should get that for free although my hygienist charges £60 for a 30 min appt and that's not included

God, I am so glad it's Friday. Still have a twitching/pulsing eyelid and can't wait for the weekend!!! I'm only going to the gym and blitzing the house (a full on top to bottom clean) but will be relaxing compared to work

morphe · 28/01/2022 09:48

@YummyMummyXoX what an ordeal, it must have been frustrating with A&E messing you around like that. But I'm glad the baby is fine and you will continue to be monitored, that's the main thing.

@fejkalove Having had a bad tooth infection a few weeks ago, I'd definitely get in touch with the dentist as soon as you can! Pregnancy plays havoc with my gums but antibiotics sorted out my infection quickly and I haven't needed further intervention so far. I think different dentists have different approaches - e.g. last pregnancy they wouldn't x-ray me but this time around I had a different dentist who said that if I continued to have issues then it could be justified (although I didn't need to in the end).

@GinnyBee I'm having more problems breathing, we live in a third floor flat and the lift has been broken for months. Feels like climbing a mountain coming home and I'm huffing and puffing when I get to our front door! Have been told that an engineer will finally come out next week though.

I haven't had a chance to discuss names with DH yet, though I've made my own list, jotting down whenever I hear a name I like. I find myself reading the credits at the end of films looking for interesting names!

YummyMummyXoX · 28/01/2022 10:37

Thanks for your warm wishes guys I just hope everyone else is doing ok
I keep reading about your name plans and buying stuff it does make me happy as we are on a journey together even though it's very individual

Doesn't look like il be going today I want to get back to my son my partner is keen for him to visit after school but I don't want him to see me in here or to cry infront of him if I will be going home tomorrow x

YfenniChristie · 28/01/2022 11:56

@YummyMummyXoX Fingers crossed you'll be discharged tomorrow. I hope your infusion went ok this morning. Are they likely to do more?

@Minster2012 We're still having a small standoff over the middle name. I really want Gwenllian but DH is concerned its a bit long. It could easily be shortened to Gwen but I prefer the long version (and I like how the full name sounds out loud). 🤷🏼‍♀️

@GinnyBee Love what you're doing for a middle name.

I haven't had any issues with breathlessness, yet. I have noticed my breathing is slightly shallower - I usually breath quite deeply and my belly doesn't seem to move as much nowadays. 😂

itssquidstella · 28/01/2022 11:59

@YfenniChristie I love the name Gwenllian, it's beautiful! I went to school with a girl whose middle name it was.

I’m getting so breathless going up stairs these days, which is a nightmare because I work in a large secondary school and have to go up and down multiple stairs multiple times a day! At least it keeps me fit, but I’m usually embarrassingly out of breath when I arrive at my lessons...

YummyMummyXoX · 28/01/2022 12:04

@YfenniChristie I need 8 bottles I'm currently on my 3rd! X

Kittycaz · 28/01/2022 14:56

@GinnyBee hope everything is OK for you today.

I've finally picked out my moses basket the Claire de lune bobble one in blue with stand. My mums just seen me for the first time since I was 16 weeks and she was so shocked with how big I am now. My bump has popped forward quite allot and my belly button has popped. It's flat at the moment. Has anyone's belly button popped out? I'm quite sad I never got the brown line down my bump kept looking for it but it hasn't popped up yet.

fejkalove · 28/01/2022 15:45

@morphe @fattycatty82 @Minster2012 thank you - I managed to get an emergency appointment, he did a 'blind' filling to cover the crack and slow any further decay. He did try to do it without anaesthesia but the cold water being sprayed whilst he was drilling was agony so he did give some local anaesthetic. I'm still in pain but hoping it's just been aggravated. Once baby is born they will x-ray and see if what he has done is sufficient.

GinnyBee · 28/01/2022 16:55

So the GP was almost certain it's musculoskeletal and nothing to be concerned about, but because of increased risks in pregnancy he wanted me to get checked out at triage as well, so that's where I've been all day. They ran every test going, all looks fine so far. The only thing they couldn't do today was lung scan, so I'll have to go back sometime next week, and in the mean time I've been given blood thinning injections. It's still fucking painful and uncomfortable, and I'm no wiser about what to do about it so I can feel better.

YfenniChristie · 28/01/2022 17:23

@Kittycaz Mine hasn't popped out yet but it's definitely feeling shallower!

TashieWoo · 28/01/2022 17:40

Can you go and see a physiotherapist maybe @GinnyBee? Other than that I guess all the pregnancy-safe options for muscular pains, heat pads etc. It does sound painful though. But I’m glad it’s nothing more serious.

How are you getting on @YummyMummyXoX?

@Kittycaz my bellybutton is pretty much flat now, is it more likely to stay flat or is popping out the next stage? I know it sounds silly but I don’t want it to pop out and to have a funny lump you can see through my top! I don’t have a dark line going down, my mum keeps asking me as she had it but I don’t think I will now.
