As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

Hey ladies

Beautiful little girl made her appearance this morning weighing 7lb13oz - the exact same as her sister!

The whole thing went entirely to plan, a totally different experience to last time!
Just got to hope she feeds and plays ball and we can get out of here tomorrow 🤞🏼

If anybody wants pictures and names then minster is my nominated person to send pictures, as we won't put anything onto social media for a bit! Xx

larrythelizard · 17/01/2022 15:12

Fantastic news @blackcurrantqueen, lovely to hear that she's here and all is well 💕💕💕 - make sure you ask for the help you need from the nurses/midwives x

Congratulations @blackcurrantqueen 🎉 can't wait to hear and see more when you're ready to share! 💕

paintfairy · 17/01/2022 16:14

@clolo @Crazydoglady123 nothing was said at my scan and I was trying to look at what she was measuring, with no bloody clue what i was looking for. 🤣 But when I got home it was on the info she'd put in my book and so I at least know the fluid measurement was normal (after Google help) as it was 1.5mm. But the wait for the rest is a bit stressful.
@Juno231 I also am a lazy cook for one person. And also need new recipe ideas! God its painful keep trying to think of things (I can't be bothered). DH also has lost the ability to think. Eating is hard work. 🤣
@Minster2012 yeah I think stretch marks are inevitable for me too. 😭
@Vil10 could be coincidence. I've been taking pregnacare throughout. I was using lactulose, as I had to, but haven't for a few weeks. And I'm now fine? Maybe your body gets used to the crazy hormones. 🤣
@Kate105 I just wondered if it was cheaper long term as well. I'll look into it! I'm not against it if its a realistic option. Clearly I'm that old that my mum used terry towel nappies with us. 😆 And I'm sure the calpol is fine. Never harmed us. 🤔🤣
@whatwonder bloody hell. My 20 week is booked for 4pm so I hope it doesn't take 2 hours! I'll definitely be needing to go for something to eat! Glad you got it all sorted though. Did you want to know gender? My placenta is posterior she said last week. She didn't say it was low, so I'm assuming it's not.
@blackcurrantqueen can't wait to see photos! I'm so pleased it all went OK. 🥳

Juno231 · 17/01/2022 16:21

@blackcurrantqueen I'm so glad everything went well and you have your baby girl now! Let us know how recovery goes when you have a moment!

@whatwonder brilliant news!

@Vil10 oh that sounds yum and healthy - I can see that being considered Spanish/Mediterranean 20 years ago actually! When people were a bit more scared of veg that weren't carrots and potatoes 🤣

Midwife appointment was great! Apparently it's continued care so I should have the same midwife throughout and if she's on call when I give birth it'll be her then too! Plus for post natal appointments. Never heard of this in London so I'm pleased. They also said that at my 12 week scan they'll do an extra blood flow scan to check for early indicators of pre eclampsia and that my hospital is the only one (presumably in London) that does this.

I mentioned my TSH concern so they immediately added a thyroid function check to my blood tests today - I've never been listened to like that 🙈. My previous LLETZ means I'll be obstetrics led rather than midwife led - I've been referred to an obstetrics appointment in week 16. Oh and they were a bit surprised by just how out of breath I was - they're thinking my thyroid or low iron could be the culprit. Here I was thinking it was normal 🤔

Overall a very lovely experience though!

Juno231 · 17/01/2022 16:22

@Vil10 oh and I thought there was only one type of bio oil so I've probably got whatever generic one you can get from boots! I've had it years mind you, it's probably out of date 🤣

paintfairy · 17/01/2022 16:34

@Juno231 ooohhh that's interesting. Mine was somewhat dull. Continued care wasn't mentioned either. Although I guess at my next appointment I'll see if it's the same person. I assumed the community ones were somehow different from the hospital ones though? I have no idea......
And no there is the original orange looking bio oil. And then a new natural type one. One got the original one as I figured if it wasn't broke- don't fix it @Vil10

Haiyaa · 17/01/2022 17:14

Hooray! Congratulations @blackcurrantqueen, lovely news, I’ve been thinking of you. Enjoy the snuggles and hope you are free to go in the morning. How are you feeling?

bez91 · 17/01/2022 17:32

Catching up, you've been a chatty lot today..

@Juno231 Lasagne is a very good analogy 😂

@Minster2012 yessss to catching the little kicks on camera 😊

@larrythelizard have they suggested possible section due to last years problem? I can't fully remember what happened with you. My friend has a tiny bit of fluid on her brain and they said section before she had her boy, I think because of risk of pressure in natural labour

@paintfairy yes furry belly definitely something to look forward to! DD was quite furry when born 😆 she was only a week or so early. I used bio oil before. It seemed to do the job but I only put it on my belly and got stretch marks on my hips, boobs, bum and on like my public bone so this time I'm just lathering it on all over 🙈

@whatwonder fab news on the scan, glad baby cooperated eventually but sounds like they put you through a workout!

@blackcurrantqueen amazing! Congratulations to you all ❤️ really pleased to hear the experience was much better than your previous. Hope you're all good for home in the morning

@Juno231 great you'll see the same midwife, it does help without having to explain yourself over and over even with 1000s of notes, I've not seen the same one once yet and never did with DD so must depend on the area you're in

Minster2012 · 17/01/2022 19:10

Hey catching up,

Obligatory Congrats 🥳 for the wonderful @blackcurrantqueen who had me balling my eyes out earlier with gorgeous squishiness & super gooey eyed love on the face of OH 😊you chill now beauts & hoping you escape back to introduce to DD tomorrow 🤞🏻 anything you need I will be PA 👩‍💼

@whatwonder that happened with our 12 week scan for DS (carried by my friend) and we weren't able to get the measurements despite jumping jacks, squats & walking to get her chocolate so it's fab you got there in the end & they said no cause for concern 🥰

@Vil10 is so much better than me on the cooking for one, I'm totally with you @paintfairy
when DH has not been here (nearly every weekend) I've basically been getting takeaway which is horrendous for my weight of course

@Juno231 that sounds absolutely fantastic and a great experience! I mean let's hope the breathlessness is normal (I think we need to hope for that?!) but that's so good on the rest of it

I'm def gonna up my lathering of the oils as per @bez91 then. Otherwise I will just be one huge stretch mark 😂

whatwonder · 17/01/2022 19:48

huge congrats @blackcurrantqueen!! hope you and bub are doing well and enjoying the time together :) glad your experience was a positive one!

@Juno231that sounds lush! have sent you a DM asking you some more questions about it as I'm also based in London

feliznavidad2 · 18/01/2022 07:23

@blackcurrantqueen lovely news! Huge congratulations. Hope you both get to go home today. x

Minster2012 · 18/01/2022 08:08

@Juno231 good luck for your NIPT & scan today...it's an actual baby now! Either a big or a girl 🤔I think that's mad at 10 weeks!

feliznavidad2 · 18/01/2022 08:14

Ooh yes, good luck @Juno231 x

Juno231 · 18/01/2022 08:31

@Minster2012 @feliznavidad2 thank you! I'm mainly worried about whether or not baby is still ok 😬. If it is then yeah it's crazy I could know what it is next week already!

larrythelizard · 18/01/2022 09:05

Good luck today @Juno231 - it is mad that the baby is already a boy or a girl isn't it?! Exciting that you'll know soon! I like having the same community midwife too - she does homebirths round here but that is definitely not for me so will be a different hospital team for that.

I felt nauseous and had loads of random food aversions for most of my pregnancy with DS @paintfairy and I definitely forgot how to cook!

@bez91 they thought I had a stroke (blue lights to hospital, full on stroke treatment etc) but nothing showed up on CT or MRI so conclusion was that it was a migraine. Hopefully a one-off as it's not something I ever want to repeat! Have a discharge letter somewhere that I'll need to find. Had a EMCS with DS which is why there's a conversation to be had about VBAC vs ELCS but then the added migrainey stuff too.

Cold here today but pretty, would be nice to go for a cold crisp walk but nope, working!

paintfairy · 18/01/2022 09:08

@Juno231 it'll be fine! But I'm like that every time. Literally end up in the toilet 1000 times because I'm so nervous. Always having that thought of what if. But then you see it there without a care in the world. 🤣 What time is it?
@bez91 noted! Lather it is!

Juno231 · 18/01/2022 09:18

@larrythelizard oh wow I forgot how big that episode was - I'm so glad it wasn't a stroke though!

@paintfairy it's at 4.30pm so it's another long wait I'm afraid! I'm intrigued to see how an abdominal scan will work this time.

Kate105 · 18/01/2022 09:30

No @Juno231 it's magic! Although I'm not sure about formula poos, that might be different. I was able to borrow some from a friend before committing, but I believe in less miserable parts of the country there are nappy libraries where you can hire or borrow some to try. The Nappy Lady website also does trial hire packs as well I think? I live in the arse end of nowhere so wasn't an option for me. This might be something you could try too @paintfairy ?

Oooh are you also a cloth bummer @Minster2012 ? It's a bit like a cult isn't it 😂 some people get reeeeeally into their nappy stash!

Oooh @feliznavidad2 definitely go for the wipes at the very least! We use them for EVERYTHING and they're genuinely so much better than baby wipes. Not to sound grim but you can scrape a lot more off with a cheeky wipe 😂🙈 they are the best thing.

Fabulous news @blackcurrantqueen congratulations! 🥳🥳🥳

Well TSD was spectacularly sick everywhere after his jabs yesterday and basically a vile wee grumpy gremlin 😳 but we are chirpy chirpy again today, including another 3am party, so think he's over the worst of it. I wish they did calpol for adults and I wish it had some sort of caffeine on roids in it. Like Pro Plus and Calpol together. Then I could drink it through a straw and pretend I'm on holiday poolside with a margarita...

Kate105 · 18/01/2022 09:33

Full disclaimer, TSD was mostly partly a vile grumpy gremlin yesterday because I cut his nails before going to the GP yesterday (genius move) and sliced a bit out of his finger with the nail clippers. Cue mild hysteria from both of us and a tearful confession to the poor nurse doing the jabs, who was not bothered in the slightest and did not phone social services as I fully expected. So much crying, so much wine when I got home. Mother of the year over here! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Vil10 · 18/01/2022 09:43

@Minster2012 it was lovely!! And just what I needed after a cold day! I'm usually rubbish at cooking for 1 though, unless I have something prepped I just pick at everything!!

@whatwonder so glad everything well with the scan!!

@blackcurrantqueen absolutely amazing news!! So so happy for you all! Congratulations💗

@paintfairy I think you're probably right, our bodies have got used to it and probably sick of being constipated too😂

@Juno231 hahaha maybe that's where my mum got it from!! Glad the appointment went well!! And amazing you'll have the same midwife, I wish I'd have asked thst at mine now too because she was lovely the woman I had!! Well when I typed in bio oil the same one came up, I guess they all do the same job don't they!! Good luck for the tests and scan today!!🤞🏼 hopefully the day doesn't drag too much!!

@Kate105 oh jd love to be poolside drinking a margarita right now

So in all the craziness of yesterday I forgot to update! A house came on rightmove on Saturday afternoon, and after being in the house searching game long enough and seeing how much competition there is I knew we had to be the first to ring up, so obviously yesterday at 9:01am I rang, we saw the house last night and loved it!! It's just outside the area we wanted to be (by just outside I literally mean a 6 min drive) so it's still in the catchment area for the schools I like, and it's just perfect, we got a phone call this morning from the estate agents asking for our initial offer with an email with proof of funds etc, then they will go round all bidders and ask for best and final and they want to get it all done and sorted today!!! Because the owners of the house want to put an offer in on a house they love but can't until they've accepted one on theirs, and someone else has put an offer in on the one they want so they need to be quick!! OH has the email with the mortgage in principle on because I deleted it by mistake and he has no service at work at the minute so I'm trying to get hold of him like a mad woman so he can send this bloody email!!😂😂

@Vil10 have you sent the email?????? Come on girl this is your time!!

@Kate105 ahhhhh 😆 hilarious and it won't be the only time you do something stupid like that, I'm really down with this whole swaddling thing if that's the result! I have to admit I gave up on cloth bum as DS was also a reflux baby & was going through at least 3 sets of clothing a day I then couldn't face adding more nappies to the mix too. Haven't decided on this one

@Juno231 a hint. Don't go in and take your pants off like me 😆

Vil10 · 18/01/2022 12:16

@Minster2012 best and final offer went in an hour ago!!! I literally feel sick😂 hoping we find out soon!!
