As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

@blackcurrantqueen awww hugs. You'll be fine. But yeah I'm sure anxiety is normal. I'm not sure what's worse- i like to know what's happening so I can plan but at the same time I think I'd rather not know so I can't dread it! No win situation i think. Good luck though. 🍀 But yes mine is coming via stork @DKDK123 so I'm fine! 🤣 Interesting about the no eating. What happens if they do emergency c- sections on people? With regards to that? Because they won't have not eaten? So many questions......

DKDK123 · 16/01/2022 13:05

@blackcurrantqueen totally normal to be feeling so anxious right now, but also very exciting that by tomorrow you'll be cradling your wee bundle after waiting all this time 🥰

@paintfairy the no eating is to prevent the food coming back up and entering your lungs while you're laid flat. If its an emergency and you've already eaten it will still go ahead it's just another complication they need to watch out for happening. I was starved often with DS as a 'just incase' we need to whisk you to theatre and it was not fun being a hungry pregnant lady but once they explained the safety reasons it was (just a tiny) bit more bearable.

bez91 · 16/01/2022 14:14

Thinking of you for tomorrow @blackcurrantqueen ❤️ all will be good but I understand your anxiety. Enjoy your last day as a 3 ❤️

@Minster2012 @DKDK123 I also have to sleep braless, in fact at any opportunity around the house and they're only mosquito bites 😆 so I don't know how the likes of you get on @minster2012 pretty gutted as my mum had massive knockers, don't know what happened with me. I'm making the most of being braless on a night before I have to wear one to bed to contain milk leakages

@DKDK123 I didn't know that about fasting pre section but it makes sense I suppose! Your DS is too sweet! I think my DD thinks the baby is just going to walk out and will be an instant play mate 🤦🏼‍♀️, this morning insisted she was going to teach them how to play twister at a few weeks old.

Juno231 · 16/01/2022 14:19

@DKDK123 I did always wonder about how they coped in EMCS!

@blackcurrantqueen ah i bet you're anxious but how fantastic that you'll get to see your baby girl tomorrow!! Can't wait to hear all about her ❤️

Did anyone else have EWCM when pregnant? I've had a lot of discharge since my BFP but just had a big blob of EWCM that honestly looked like it would stretch 4 inches easily 😅.

Minster2012 · 16/01/2022 14:37

Leaky boobs?! Wtf! I don't want leaky boobs & atm I'd much prefer to go bra less same as you @DKDK123 & @bez91 whereas I much preferred wearing a bra before pregnancy it's weird now

@paintfairy yeah they can cope with eating before emergencies but it's the ideal not to do if it's planned then it's another thing they can control for the best of the mum & the baby. It's another reason why I have to have a planned c section as the anaesthetist told me that having to be on fragmin a the more dangerous thing than my lack of cortisol...because they can't do an epidural within a certain amount of hours from the last fragmin injection so if I spontaneously went into Labour if it's within a certain time frame of the injection then I'd have to be put out for the c section instead (and not meet baby til later) so a planned time around these things is always better.

I mean a stork brought us DS & sometimes I think it's a bloody good way 🤪

@Juno231 did you stretch it?! Bet it was tempting 😂

@blackcurrantqueen I can't wait to see her 🥳😘

I've just booked a 4D scan for a few weeks time, they usually freak me out so we'll see what it's like when it's my own 😝

Vil10 · 16/01/2022 15:52

@Minster2012 you know what I mean when you get the shivers down your fanny, that just happened! How're you feeling today?

@feliznavidad2 I kept trying to tell myself it's good for you, but the retching definitely wasn't!! Thankyou, I'll keep you all updated! How're you feeling with the cold? Hopefully not too bad!!

@paintfairy I keep telling myself now isn't the time to be healthy when I'm making my way through blocks of Leicester and crackers for my dinner😂hopefully I get to your stage and things taste better!! Also on the cramps I had lots in the early stages not none now which is odd but I'm sure it's just thinking's moving and stretching around now that little one is getting bigger!! Also you have an actual real life small bump!! I just look a bit tub😒

@DKDK123 oh that's so sweet of your DS!! He's going to make an amazing big brother!!

@blackcurrantqueen completely understandable feeling anxious a little sick about it all!! But it's so so exciting thst by tomorrow your baby girl will be here!!

@Juno231 I've had sooo much cm and sometimes a little bit of ewcm, I've had to wear a panty liner almost everyday since getting my BFP!

Well today has solely consisted of packing AGAIN!! And prepping OH's meals, he's starting a new 12 week training plan tomorrow so we made a deal that it he sorted through and packed away under the stairs id do his meals, I definitely drew the short straw, it was so confusing because it's different meals for training days and non training days and then different amounts on different meals, honestly I won't be doing that for him again!!

Kate105 · 16/01/2022 16:59

Good luck for tomorrow @blackcurrantqueen !

Ohhhhhh @Minster2012 the leaky boobs are just the worst! I have to sleep in a crop top thing because I always need to have boob pads in my bra 😭 also a massive mood killer...

Sorry about the DH nappy fuckery @2020mission although we do use reusable nappies and they're really not that bad! We've found them great once you get over the extra washing...

Sorry I've been AWOL but I've had a couple of really shocking nights with TSD and had a massive sense of humour failure. Dosed the fucker up with calpol last night because we suspect it's teething related and that did the trick so YAAAAAY I'm alive again. For now. Jabs tomorrow so more fuckery ahoy!

DKDK123 · 16/01/2022 17:29

@bez91 who knows, your baby may come out a walking, talking genius and take her up on that game of twister afterall 🤣 DS thought the same that it would come right out and play paw patrol but after SIL having a baby a few months ago he's now got the hang of what this whole baby malarkey is about, I thought it would put him off once he saw all they do is cry and sleep but surprisingly not.

@minster2012 I always found the 4d scans a bit on the freaky side but I didn't realise they did it free with our gender scan and when it's your own it is actually far better as it helps you imagine them like a proper baby. We were given a video of ours, think it's on my insta if you scroll down and you can actually see her waving her hands over her face. It was at that one that I finally felt wow this isn't just a hypothetical 'baby' it's actually a real human baby that does things if that makes sense 😂 Still think it's rather alien like but seeing the movements of the arms and legs in 4D made it really real!

@vil10 you definitely drew the short straw, that meal prep sounds complicated!

@kate105 teething is torture for all, stay strong it does pass (in what feels like a million years) and the night of/after a jag can feel just as long so order in takeaway and make life as easy for yourself as possible. I loved these style bibs while DS was teething and also putting a clean wash cloth or muslin in the freezer for a while to let them gnaw on to relive some of the pain.

Good luck for tomorrow @blackcurrantqueen - I know what you mean about nothing being a given with having a baby but you'll be in the best possible hands with people who know what happened last time.

I'm normally one for letting them swing free but they're so sore out of a bra @Minster2012!

Also I've just realised when you write fragmin @Minster2012 I read frangipane in my head! I am fully aware you're not injecting yourself with baked goods though!

I think read somewhere that the discharge is related to progesterone @Juno231 so got to be a good sign?

DS was quite dopey and nappy after his jabs @Kate105 so may not be too bad

Best game I've played all day is a good 15 mins of DS searching for himself in the photo of everyone at our wedding on the wall (taken a good 18 months before he arrived)...he's adamant he's in it 😂

paintfairy · 16/01/2022 18:45

@DKDK123 makes sense! I suppose if nearing the end you maybe won't have eaten much anyway for a while. But pregnant hungry ladies are definitely not to be messed with. 🤣
@Juno231 I can't tell what's going on with my CM because of the pessaries. But I'm sure I've had more in general.
@Minster2012 As for leaky boobs, nope! I don't want that either. As for bras - I've always come home and taken it off if I feel the need @dkdk123 @bez91 and I definitely couldn't sleep in one. But today wearing my wireless one was a revelation, it was actually much better! Maybe no good for riding or jumping about, but great for just normal wear. 😁
@minster 2012 see the 4D scans freak me out too! I'm not sure I'd want one. So it'll be interesting to see how you find it.
@Kate105 Do you use liners or anything in the nappies? And do they just go in the washer? Or do you have to prewash them first? Yay for the calpol. Get more. Now. 🤣🤣
@larrythelizard that could be a very long game! 🤣 Keeps him entertained!

So- I've attached a photo of my normal jeans. So you can see why there is such an issue. I did wear these on boxing day to go to families house. But wearing them now is kind of not going to work and this is before eating! After is, well, worse. 🙄

Crazydoglady123 · 16/01/2022 18:53

@Minster2012 aw so exciting for your 4D scan! You're so tiny in your pic on insta

@Vil10 food prep sounds so stressful! I struggle thinking of meal ideas alone for us

@Kate105 hope TSD jabs go okay tomorrow

@larrythelizard that's actually hilarious about DS

@blackcurrantqueen I can't believe tomorrow is the day for you! No signs of madam yet (despite all my efforts of natural induction).

I'm actually feeling really fed up tonight. My day 6 & 7 LFT are super strong lines still so no early release tomorrow which means my DS has to stay at his dads even longer. It'll be 2 weeks Thursday when I'm out of isolation which is the longest I've been apart from him and it's getting to me now loads. And when I get him from school Thursday I've got to leave him again shortly after to go for the growth scan at the hospital that had to be moved because of having covid. Madam could seriously do with coming before Thursday at least while he is at his dads. I just want to get him back Thursday and get back to normal but it's going to be sat on edge waiting for madam to come, sort out emergency childcare when she does or be stuck in hospital being induced if she doesn't come soon 😔

2020mission · 16/01/2022 18:56

@paintfairy enjoy your nice belly piercing while you can 😅 I haven't tried to get mines back in yet. The skin at where the piercing was has gone really red since my bump was big unfortunately. My stomach is actually already back to normal otherwise after just a couple of weeks. Possibly the breast feeding helped it return to normal sooner? I thought I'd look pregnant for a good month or so at least after having him. I don't miss having to extend my jeans like that but I did the exact same and never bought any maternity jeans. Soon gave up and went for comfort all the way with tights and leggings!

Haiyaa · 16/01/2022 20:30

Just popping my head in to say good luck for tomorrow @blackcurrantqueen! Here’s hoping you are first on the list and little lady is earthside before breakfast time! Let us know how it goes, especially with it being “Covid times” (I hate that phrase 😂).

Minster2012 · 16/01/2022 20:54

@Vil10 that's a ridiculously short straw!!

@Kate105 ahhhh DS's first jabs were ok actually, is that the one where you have to take calpol with you for straight away after? (For him that is not you 😂you need wine!)...his ones are 13 months or whenever the next ones are were the awful ones for is 😬

I'm def hoping it will feel better when it's ours @DKDK123, maybe it's just the "still shots" from the 4D I find really weird, my DS has seen a few babies recently so fortunately he doesn't think baby sister will play with him, & I've prepared him for crying

@larrythelizard if I had to have frangipane every day that would be MUCH more delightful. Small needles that sting like a bitch & bruise, not so nice. Omg we had a really frustrating day with DS the other week about our wedding photo with him saying "but where am I?" ..."you weren't born yet X"... "but WHERE AM I?" ..."it was before you were born, you know like baby sister isn't born yet?" "WHERE AM I? Why aren't i born?"
Oh give me strength 🙄😂

@paintfairy yeah that's not ideal with the jeans 👖, bigger pair til maternity ones I think. Are you gonna stop the pessaries now?

@Crazydoglady123 you are the finest pregnant lady I (kind of) know!! But thank you, that sounds rough with the LFTs & your boy. 😩😩you still actually FEELING ok? Do you have a date when you will get induced?

@2020mission your tummy is back to normal already that's awesome 🙌🏻

@blackcurrantqueen 🤞🏻🤞🏻💃🏼💃🏼come on baby! So excited 😆

So ladies another minge question. Today I defluffed and yes ok it's only about the 3rd time since being pregnant as was so scared of EVERYTHING for weeks. But each time I'm finding my usual "tough hair cream" isn't really doing much. It's like the hair has got even coarser (& my hair is coarse & thick anyway & my old medication made it worse). Has anyone else found this??? I did say to DH "well I won't be able to see it soon anyway so 🤷🏼‍♀️" but wondered if this was another weird hormonal thing or if it's just me (remember orange hair-gate?!)

paintfairy · 16/01/2022 21:05

@Minster2012 I've reduced the progesterone as I wanted to wean off it. I dropped to 400mg, now I'm on 300mg. I was going to drop to 200mg tomorrow but now I've had these pains its worried me?
The hair i think can go either way. Either thicker and better or finer and crap and fall out. Mine will do the latter no doubt, as I have shit fine hair anyway! 🙄
@2020mission i bet I'll never get mine back in either, once i have to take it out. Rubbish! And no one gets a normal stomach back that quick? You are giving people false hope. 🤣
@Crazydoglady123 how frustrating. Try my to stress though, what will be will be. And it'll all work out! She'll be here soon. 💕

Minster2012 · 16/01/2022 21:11

@paintfairy I think honestly you'll be fine to drop to 200mg, unless pains aren't going away they basically say bits of pain are all normal

paintfairy · 16/01/2022 22:07

@Minster2012 yes I'm sure you are right. I dropped to 300 on Thursday though and the pains started Friday, so it's made me paranoid. But if the placenta is now there then technically there should be no reason to carry it on.

larrythelizard · 17/01/2022 06:37

Yeah that's a pregnancy thing @Minster2012 last time I got quite a covering of what looked like down on my stomach.

Hopefully little madam plays ball @Crazydoglady123!

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 17/01/2022 06:44

Good luck today @blackcurrantqueen will be thinking of you x

bez91 · 17/01/2022 07:35

Argggh @Vil10 meal prep is stressful and soooo time consuming! Hope you got it all sorted

@Minster2012 @DKDK123 I'm also weirded out by 4d 😆 They look like little aliens IMO and despite saying "it's different when they're you're own" I've seen my own before and no, I still think they look as alien as any other strangers baby. We're going for a private scan this weekend as DD wants to see so hopefully she'll like the little alien as I'm sure they'll roll the 4D out 🙈

@Crazydoglady123 that's really annoying. Are they planning to induce before your day 10? I got my first negative yesterday on day 15 🤦🏼‍♀️ it will work out one way or another and you'll have your baby girl with you soon 💕

@Minster2012 I think it's a pregnancy thing. I can't see mine now so I've warned DH. I've also got a bit of a furry belly, like blonde hair 😆

kaylsd · 17/01/2022 07:53

@blackcurrantqueen good luck for today sweetie ❤️

Juno231 · 17/01/2022 08:02

@blackcurrantqueen so excited for you today

@Minster2012 definitely a pregnancy thing - my friend is only 8 weeks and has been complaining about the same already

@2020mission wow your stomach is back to normal already?? That's incredible - gives us hope 😆

4d scans always look like closeups of lasagna to me lol!

10 weeks today, got my midwife appointment at 2pm - pretty excited :)

Minster2012 · 17/01/2022 08:15

Well at least I've not had it since 8 weeks @Juno231, I was going to ask you if you've got your booking in appointment today, then your NIPT & scan tomorrow. Lasagne?? 🤗

Furry belly's all round then! @bez91 I was inspired by your video of little kicks and I stared at my belly last night & filmed one. Crazy stuff! And that's lovely for DD to come to a scan, our DS loved it!

@paintfairy who am I to talk I kept going with the progesterone until 17 weeks I think as was told to carry on til 24 weeks then was told to stop so I went in between 😜

larrythelizard · 17/01/2022 08:50

Ooh exciting @Juno231 - I had mine yesterday (or all the talky bits anyway, I have bloods and the blowy thing on Tuesday). Consultant may want to see me sooner than later because of last year's crazy migraine.

Aww that's lovely @bez91!

Yay a kick on camera @Minster2012!

Good luck @blackcurrantqueen

OP posts:
whatwonder · 17/01/2022 09:06

good luck today @blackcurrantqueen ! so exciting :)

@Crazydoglady123 I'm so sorry hun, that's really tough to be away from DS for that long, how are you feeling symptom wise?

@Minster2012 it's definitely a hormonal thing, I swear the hair on my head has not gotten all thick and shiny like everyone promised, all that thick hair goodness has transferred to my body hair, joy.

@paintfairy have you considered getting a bump band? You can wear it over your jeans and it covers up the zip/button area. Like this one

www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/multi-use-belly-band-a9117.html?refSrc=12807&nosto=nosto-page-product1

I've got my 20 week scan today! Feeling excited but also a bit nervous. For those who have already had theirs, how long did it take? Guess it depends on if baby is cooperative?
