Due 17/7. First pregnancy and 41 yrs,very excited /nervous.first time on here .any abbreviations I should know? Thanks in advance

Hi all, just wondering why this thread has gone so quiet, I used to enjoy catching up on everyone’s news at the end of the day but seems there’s not many posts any more. Has everyone moved over to the Facebook group now? I’m not brave enough to join there just yet. Good luck to everyone with their upcoming scans this week 🤞🏼

How are you doing?

I have my scan a week tomorrow when I’ll be 12+6. Feeling very anxious as I feel relatively normal now and ended up googling which is never a good idea! Just hoping the little bean is doing well and everything is where it should be! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

@SantiagoSister I think its because a lot are on FB. I just find it easier. I only use MN when I am on the laptop supposed to be working! Their app isn't great.

I'm good though how are you? I've my first official scan with the hospital this Thursday, I'll be 13ish weeks by then. It will be nice to be given an official date. DH is allowed to this one thankfully, well according to the letter he is. You never know that might change on the day. I have had scans in EPU though and a private one as one week my irrational fear went through the roof when I was convinced I felt the same way I had when I mc'd before. I didn't mc and the baby was wiggling around.

Ah thank you @Firsttimetrier and @irishfarmer, I appreciate your replies and it makes sense that most people are on the FB group now. As time goes on and I get past certain milestones I do hope to join you all on there.

@Firsttimetrier I definitely can understand you on the feeling completely normal and wondering if things are going ok in there, I’m the same too. I also have my 12 week scan next week, on Wednesday, really hoping for good news.

I’m glad you’re all good @irishfarmer, not long at all until your scan, good news that DH can attend with you, hopefully this doesn’t change between now and then. I’m glad your private scan help to put your mind at ease when you worried about MC, I can understand that fear as I still haven’t had any symptoms of being pregnant at all and I worry about MMC. Just over a week until I can find out what’s going on in there 🤞🏼

I'm still here and reading, @SantiagoSister. Given my struggles outlined on my thread (crippled with anxiety that if might be twins again) I don't really feel like I have the right to post here ATM. I am in the Facebook group and it's a lovely, supportive group but I can't really join in much with anything when there are so many unknowns for us.

@Firsttimetrier we had a scan already and yes it's twins. On the day of the scan I should have been 7 weeks. Twin A was measuring 7+1 so spot on but twin B was measuring 5+3 so 12 days difference between them. Both had heartbeats but the sonographer said I'd need another scan in 2 weeks to check on things. That 2nd scan is tomorrow morning. I've already had two sets of twins and this is the third. We lost the first twin pregnancy at 19 weeks due to placental abruption. The second set of twins were born 5 months early - our daughter incredibly has survived but tragically our son did not. I can't go through another twin pregnancy (taking dozens of factors into account) so if twin B is still viable tomorrow I'll be going down the selective reduction route. It's a horrible, horrible situation.

@Squiff70 that is such an awfully hard situation to be in. Don't feel like you can't talk about it on the FB group or here. We all want to support each other. So please don't feel like you shouldn't post.

I don’t think I’ll ever feel completely brave enough but we had our 12 week scan yesterday and things are looking ok so far thankfully. Still a while to go until the 20 week scan but am missing the support of the thread. Is the group completely private? As in none of my friends will be able to see me join it? 🙈 thank you!
