@closingtime101 I think I find out my results at my 16 week scan, which seems forever away, so I guess they would ring beforehand if something was wrong.
I was given so much information at my booking appointment that I wish I made some notes 🤦🏽‍♀️.

@Rachae good luck for your scan this weekend! I would love to do another before the 12 weeks, just to ensure everything is okay in there. My symptoms have subsided a bit which I’m hoping is because the placenta has taken over 🤞🏽.

Rachae · 05/01/2022 09:56

Thanks @Firsttimetrier ! I'm treating this Sunday as my 12 week scan, given I'm only a day out :-) I guess the 14 week scan will be a 'bonus'. Not sure why the 12 week mark is the anxiety finish line... but feels like it?
How far along are now? I was literally about to post about symptoms waning myself! I'm 11+2 today and although I haven't had much of anything really... since 9 weeks I've had quite bad exhaustion. Bang on 11 weeks, it's all gone and I feel pretty normal again. Xx

irishfarmer · 05/01/2022 10:12

Hi all, haven't been on here in a while. Hope you are all doing well!!

@Coco9910 no advice really. I had one started Sunday Evening, and is finally nearly gone today. Like a pick axe going through one side of my brain. I only took two paracetamol and they did nothing. Tonnes of water and I actually got a good nights sleep last night. Funnily enough I did a covid test because I was feeling so crap over all and it is negative.

I've booked a private scan for tomorrow evening. Don't have my booking scan for ages and just want to see.

Coco9910 · 05/01/2022 10:21

@irishfarmer thank you! I will try another painkiller. I made the mistake of logging back on to work today and it’s made me feel worse. I’ll just ride it out! Hope your scan goes well! How far along are you now?

Firsttimetrier · 05/01/2022 10:26

That’s a good way of thinking about it @Rachae. I’m bang on 10 weeks today but started feeling less sick from a few days ago.

I’m still exhausted, like it takes so much effort to get out of bed and then I’m back in bed on my lunch and after work for a quick snooze as I’m so tired.

My Flo app says it’s quite common for symptoms to disappear around this time, so trying to stay positive.

Jupiter92 · 05/01/2022 10:40

Hi everyone! I am very late to the party but I’d love to join 😊 I am 11 weeks tomorrow!
My symptoms started to subside around 8 weeks but yesterday I had awful nausea so I guess I’m not out of the woods yet 😩 when it’s gone I worry but when it’s back I lie there wishing it would go again haha, it’s mainly in the evenings for me but yesterday was pretty much all day!
My 12 week scan is on the 15th. I teach internationally in Brazil so i think my pregnancy care is slightly different. I have my bloods done 4 days before the scan (to check the baby) and then I’ve booked to see my doctor the Friday after! It’s all a bit crazy going through private healthcare especially in a different language haha. I’m doing my best to navigate it!

irishfarmer · 05/01/2022 11:17

@Coco9910 they are not nice! I'm 11 weeks now, and you?

@Jupiter92 that would be hard in a diff language! Does your partner speak Portuguese? Or maybe a good friend you could bring to apps?

Rachae · 05/01/2022 13:04

Hey @irishfarmer are you still having symptoms? A couple of us have had ours subside so just curious :-) xx

Jupiter92 · 05/01/2022 13:52

@irishfarmer we are both British but luckily our doctor is amazing and she speaks English and her secretary has helped booking our scans and things like that!

Coco9910 · 05/01/2022 15:27

@irishfarmer I’m 12 weeks today based on my LMP but maybe more towards 11+2 based on when I ovulated :)

My partner has been quiet this afternoon, he’s just come up to where I’m working clutching his “First Time Dad..” book I got him for Christmas. He’s been reading it (6 months earlier than I thought he might 😂) and he’s told me I should be taking omega 3 vitamins. Is anyone else taking these?

strawberrysummer19 · 05/01/2022 15:51

@Coco9910 yes me im taking omega 3
I don't eat a lot of fish ( hardly ever actually) the recommended is twice weekly I think but I only like salmon and not keen so I take a supplement
I take the one that's in the pregnacare ones as know some fish oils you need to be careful with so I take those ones

I was taking TTC and throughout my ivf so have just continued
I don't think it's a must like folic acid but it's very good for you so I would add it in, can't hurt x

strawberrysummer19 · 05/01/2022 15:59

Just updating my scan date - I caved and re booked for one week earlier ! So my private one is now 11+4 instead of 12+5 as my nhs one isn't until 13+1 and don't want to wait that long so my next scan is only this Saturday now as opposed to next weekend. Having a bit of worry atm. My finance can only do weekends so have pushed it forward- really wanted to be more 12wks but the clinic said a few days earlier should be fine. It's only a dating one anyway but will still be reassuring to see bubs again
No reason why just that I've had 6,8 and a 9 wks scan! So I just feel better for having another one.

Maybe because I Saw my friend today who's 15wks and she has a re scan tomorrow as she was told at her 12 wks scan (which was booked for 13.5) was too late for first trimester and too early for second trimester, that baby was measuring too big and she had to be rescanned in 2 weeks time? Didn't know what that meant? Does anyone else know? My nhs one is booked 13+1 and know the '12 week scan' is a window up until 14 wks but I wouldn't be very happy if they said sorry come back in 2 weeks
They haven't even done her screening yet?

@Rachae I had the migraine, which I think is related as I don't get them anymore since I got my high BP controlled. Also a bit sick feeling today and still exhausted. I had some spotting the other day though and just an awful feeling something was wrong so I've booked a private app for tomorrow. I wanted one sooner but everywhere was booked out! Dublin is only 1.5hrs away and I couldn't get anywhere closer would have been 1-2 week wait. Even in Dub only 1 clinic had an app this wk. Everyone must be mad looking for scans after Christmas! With one of my previous pregnancies I called that morning and had a scan that evening. Although and I know google is not normally our friend I found some very reassuring sites that risk of miscarriage after seeing the heartbeat is v v low. But I've it booked now so I'm going.

@Coco9910 I'm taking it as part of pregnacare max. That's sweet he is reading his book. My DH is fairly good at looking up what is happening week by week too which is nice

Rachae · 05/01/2022 16:48

@irishfarmer aww I'm sure everything is just fine. I'm the same - constantly googling mc risk after 10 week scan! I like our odds. I've actually just brought my scan forward to Friday night too, as don't want to spend all weekend worrying for Sunday night. xx

Firsttimetrier · 06/01/2022 08:06

Morning all, hope you are all good?

Since my nausea has decreased, my anxiety has increased massively. I know that more than likely everything will be fine but I’m so worried about a MMC.

I feel like I should be grateful that I can now eat things that aren’t beige, but I miss the healthy food aversions.

Might see if my husband would be keen for another scan for a bit of reassurance.

The only ‘symptom’ I do seem to have is our cat has suddenly become very clingy towards me in the last week or so. Usually she’s happy with her own space but now she’ll meow to sit on my stomach and has to be around me constantly 😂.
Anyone else with pets noticed a change in their behaviour?

Rachae · 06/01/2022 09:49

@Firsttimetrier ahh symptomless is tough! I've moved my scan to tomorrow night as can't bear the wait, given I've stopped feeling my only symptom. (Tiredness) My cats have definitely been more needy since conceiving! 😻
Here's my Nero who sits on me in bed every morning as a ritual. My other one, Merlin, sleeps on my legs every night! Xx

Due July/August (vol. 2)
ellie1789 · 06/01/2022 11:47

I'm the same as you both @Rachae @Firsttimetrier I saw a massive decline in symptoms at 9 weeks so have a reassurance scan tomorrow as the worry isn't worth it

I have two cats and my girl cat has become extra needy since becoming pregnant. She now likes to sit closer more than ever, and appeared when I thought I was going to throw up the other day. I've heard that cats, especially, can sense it

strawberrysummer19 · 06/01/2022 11:53

@Firsttimetrier @Rachae I feel exactly the same! My sickness has got so much better - pretty much don't feel it anymore! So now feel more anxious hence why I've bought my scan forward to Saturday where I'd be 11+4
I'm sure I'll be so much happier when i have the 12week scan reassurance! X

Rachae · 06/01/2022 12:23

Sounds like we're all in the same boat... So hopefully that means we're all ok! 😁 Xx

HA22 · 06/01/2022 16:56

i've had a decrease in pretty much all my symptoms at 8/9 weeks. the only ones now are just slight tender breasts and not liking the smell of food cooking

ellie1789 · 06/01/2022 17:19

Nausea was back today... spoke too soon. I had 4 days off at least Grin

Firsttimetrier · 06/01/2022 18:52

@ellie1789 I spoke too soon too. Was on a Teams video call earlier today and had to swallow down some sick (sorry TMI) and act like everything was okay 😩.

I’m welcoming a new change to my cravings though - chicken salad with tahini dressing and olives. Don’t know where this has come from as I used to hate chicken salads before pregnancy 😂. Was one of the best dinners I’ve had in forever!

Noonoo88 · 07/01/2022 10:16

Morning all. Can I add my scan date in as well? It's on 27th January. I don't actually know my numbers yet, as there have been several conflicting dates from various professionals, nobody can actually agree a due date yet 🙄 but in theory I should be around 12+5. I am diabetic so it's likely I will be induced early anyway. Nausea keeps coming and going for me as well by the way! Some days I'm ok and can eat relatively normally, others I can't even move off the sofa 🤢 hope you're all doing well x

strawberrysummer19 · 07/01/2022 15:10

How is everyone doing? Felt sicky this afternoon but morning like the bad nausea

I have a terrible headache despite drinking lots water

X

Rachae · 07/01/2022 15:19

Hey @strawberrysummer19 I'm counting down the hours till my scan tonight 🙈 Weirdly, I've had a headache too for like 3 days. Haven't had one before in this pregnancy. Absolutely floored today .. had to sack off work and just flopped on the sofa! Hoping that's a good sign. How are you? X
