@PeeAche thank you.
Therefor even if chocolate related, it is still baby bump. I like the way you think!

Vimto1991 · 24/11/2021 13:56

Throughout the whole pregnancy I’ve felt sick and wretched but the past two weeks is getting worse and worse. I thought it’s supposed to get better 🙈 the idea of food makes me wretch without even seeing or smelling it.

Olive60 · 24/11/2021 14:08

I work around food so it's killing me. Hot food is a no go at the moment 🤮 the smell of hot roast pork today has done me in! Messaged my partner saying "I don't know how long I can take feeling so rough" for him to reply "don't worry you'll be fine" so now he's in the doghouse.

Also can not go to the toilet in the night without turning the light on as I always check the loo roll too!

I have more food aversions than cravings, for a couple weeks I had to eat what I fancied rather than what we had so was really light on the weekly food shop and bought each day depending on what I wanted. It's been better for a week now so able to pre plan meals again. Just have what you fancy while your feeling like this.
Pandamama88 · 24/11/2021 14:23

This is my first pregnancy and I also check the tissue after wiping.

Vimto1991 · 24/11/2021 14:24

@Olive60 oh no! I can’t imagine that right now 😫 must feel like breathing through your mouth constantly!!

@lei1310 yeah that’s what I did for awhile, as I have more aversions than cravings also - problem is, I think I just have food aversion now full stop. Struggling to find joy eating anything without feeling sick. 😫 we get Gousto delivered and I’ve wanted to cancel it as I hate forcing myself to eat something I don’t want, but my DH loves it and wants to keep on going with it. I get to pick the meals but my opinion changes on food hourly. What I chose last week is not what I can eat this week, lol!

PeeAche · 24/11/2021 14:30

@Olive60

Here are a list of things my DH has said since my BFP which I will never forget, and for which I will passively aggressively punish him for the rest of our lives:

1.Try being a man with a family history of angina. I'll probably have to have open heart surgery one day, which is way worse than child birth.

  1. That nurse was pretty hot
  1. When I see the weird foods you're eating, it makes me feel sick
  1. (About redecorating a guest room) Don't do that, you'll hurt yourself. You can do it after the baby is born.

😐

@Vimto1991 we had gousto but cancelled it a few weeks ago as I just couldn’t eat any of it. Normally love it so it’s a shame but I just need simple stuff right now!

If he wants to keep it and you don’t maybe he can cook for himself and have some for lunches as well, whilst you eat what you fancy.

EarlGreywithLemon · 24/11/2021 14:58

Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking for a long time, but have been too superstitious to join. I’m 11 weeks into my second pregnancy, and my scan is on 2 December. I had the NIPT last week (because I’m nearly 40) and luckily it came back low risk, we are having a baby boy. We have a 2 year old girl whose birthday it is today. I’m curious how different it will be to have a baby boy!

Brightsmoke · 24/11/2021 15:25

I'd add a few more things to the list;

To buy before baby comes:

Somewhere for baby to sleep in your room
Snot sucker
Baby wipes
Baby soap
Wash cloths
Bouncer of some description
Nappy rash cream
Bibs
Sleeping bags

If planning on breast feeding
Breast pads
Nursing bra & tops

Then a monitor for when baby is in its own room or asleep upstairs if you go down stairs or vice Versa.

I have a much larger list than this if anyone wants some luxuries to buy/ask as presents. I bought a lot of useless things first time round, so have reduced my necessities drastically this time 😂😂

I had my scan today. Moved forward 3 days, so now EDD is 3rd June. Everything looked ok on scan, just waiting for the blood tests to come back. We go on holiday Saturday, so it's nice to know everything is ok before we fly :)

Also, welcome to @lei1310 and @EarlGreywithLemon :)

Prema112 · 24/11/2021 15:29

@Vimto1991 I fancy no food ever. But if I dont eat I feel even more sick! Yesterday I fried a chicken breast as it was the only thing I vaguely thought I could stomach and DH couldn't understand why I didn't eat anything in the fridge instead of cooking but I just can't, it's all horrible!! He doesn't understand...

Prema112 · 24/11/2021 15:30

@Brightsmoke congrats on the beautiful scan! We have due dates very close together!

Prema112 · 24/11/2021 15:32

@EarlGreywithLemon welcome! I think you're the first in the group to know the sex of the baby! How exciting! Baby boys are GREAT. An awesome whirlwind!

Prema112 · 24/11/2021 15:33

@Willow1981 I definitely have a food bump that I'm claiming is baby!

Vimto1991 · 24/11/2021 15:39

@CurryandSnuggle
Yeah, I think I keep it cause I feel like it encourages me to eat healthy (even if it makes me sad), otherwise I’d end up eating crisps for dinner.

@Prema112 yeah they just don’t understand but I try and explain it’s like the worst hangover ever constantly 🙈

DH just got me weetabix on the go just so I can get some nutrients. 😂

I’m a little bit worried it’s a concussion from the accident just because I feel like it’s got worse, and I’ve not heard of anyones morning sickness getting worse at 11 weeks.

Vimto1991 · 24/11/2021 15:40

@Brightsmoke wow thanks for the awesome list! And congrats on the scan! What a cute little bub :) bet you’re so pleased!

EarlGreywithLemon · 24/11/2021 16:06

Thank you so much everyone! Great lists of what to buy here. I’d add a microwave steriliser, even if you’re planning on breastfeeding. Ours was very useful even so. And also several changes of sheets for where the baby will sleep. That one caught us by surprise when we immediately used up the two we had!

Yes, good extras! I'll add to my list :) thanks!
EarlGreywithLemon · 24/11/2021 16:19

@Brightsmoke thank you a congrats on the scan! So lovely.

PeeAche · 24/11/2021 16:26

I'm thinking of buying a sling too. My SIL (professional "mumflencer" don't you know?) doesn't agree with them because they move baby's head too much. Not sure what people think about that?

I think it's a steaming pile of bulls.... ! 🤐

Welcome @EarlGreywithLemon!! 🤗

Congrats on all the scans everyone! 😊 For those struggling with sickness, I do hope you get a reprieve soon - it’s most unfair and Mother Nature needs to cut you some slack!

@EarlGreywithLemon I also got my NIPT results and happily it’s low risk. We are having a girl (which I hope is accurate as it’s what I really wanted secretly)! 😀

As a FTM thank you for sharing these lists. I’d like to get the minimum needed because our house isn’t massive and babies grow so quickly anyway. I keep looking at sites and the amount of choice makes me go cross eyed. How did we evolve for millions of years without half this stuff? 😉

RoseValleyRambles · 24/11/2021 16:38

@rolledthedice do they tell you gender at the 12 week scan, or have you had an additional test? I thought we had to wait a bit longer but it'd be lovely to know sooner!

Rolledthedice · 24/11/2021 16:41

@RoseValleyRambles I found out as part of a private NIPT Harmony test. I don’t know if the NHS will tell you, but it’s worth asking at the scan. When is yours? I have mine next Monday!

Imhereforthecake · 24/11/2021 16:42

Hope everyone is doing ok.
Still quietly slowing dying in the background here from sickness.
Had a scan today as a follow up because of the bleeding. Measuring 9+5 and all looks ok. Just waiting on a date for a 12 week.
