@PeeAche 😂 yes it is a Christmas tree in November! But we had a very excited 6 year old desperate to put it up.. that’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it Grin
@DaimDillyDoo I had my booking in appointment today and I don't weigh myself very often but had to weigh myself today and my BMI is 31 so I have to have extra growth scans, a consultant appointment etc. I'm a size 12 but quite muscley and have fairly big boobs and I really struggle with being overweight and I'm really not looking forward to it being discussed at every appointment. I usually play hockey 3x a week, run 5k once a week and eat healthily, and it drives me nuts that we are all classified by a scale used to measure white men - our body compositions are just not the same as men's and I wish they would use a different measure of health Angry.

Anyway, I very much empathise with the struggle of the idea of putting on weight and losing fitness as I feel there is so much shame around weight and it's so hard to shake that off. I have found listening to audio books and podcasts about intuitive eating incredibly helpful and would really recommend to anyone else who struggles with body image like I do.

Anyone else find it exhausting having to go through their whole medical history at the booking in appointment!? I feel so drained. Doesn't help that the app crashed half way through and she had to redo it all.
@AlbatrossSociety I was consultant led with my first pregnancy because of my bmi so just wanted to share my experience...
I was weighed at my booking in appt and then never again.
The consultant never asked my bmi or mentioned my weight again. To be honest he asked every time why I was there!
In the end I just saw it as a positive that I got to have extra scans!

PeeAche · 22/11/2021 20:47

@Olive60 my booking appointment is tomorrow too!!!! I can't believe I'm excited about it. 🤣

@sunflower198 thanks so much for sharing, that's really helpful. When I had my contraceptive implant out the woman said it would probably take me a while to conceive and I probably had PCOS because of my BMI which I thought was a bit of a stretch. So basically just used to ignorance around it!

Willow1981 · 22/11/2021 21:09

I was sent for GD test due to my BMI. I'm convinced that it's only really high coz I'm V.short and rather blessed in the boob department!

Prema112 · 22/11/2021 21:29

Just sneezed while lying on my back- I would NOT recommend it- SO painful! Oh my word!

rathernotshare · 22/11/2021 21:38

My BMI is 23 and I'm being sent for GD tests because my 55 year old dad has pre-diabetes due to shovelling cheesecakes and milkshakes as he was losing weight rapidly because he couldn't taste anything when he had covid. I wouldn't mind but I've heard it's a horrible test 😂

Willow1981 · 22/11/2021 21:41

@rathernotshare. It's not that bad really. The worst part is the 2 blood tests and the 2 hour wait (boring!) But the drink was OK. I had orange and it was like lucazade sport.

rathernotshare · 22/11/2021 21:43

@Willow1981 my midwife said they say it tastes like lucozade but it doesn't! I know a few who have had it and said the drink is minging. Do you have to wait wherever you're having the test? She said they won't do it until 28 weeks for me

Willow1981 · 22/11/2021 22:00

I was allowed to go to my car but they don't want you walking around.
I had mine in the hospital as I'm an awkward bleeder.
Drink was not minging, honest. Not sure if there is a variety of drinks.

MrsNT · 22/11/2021 22:01

Me 🙋🏻‍♀️ I've not had any sickness this time around. Got my 12 week scan tomorrow - hoping all is well. My first pregnancy was the complete opposite - I was sick/nauseous for the whole 9 months!
MrsNT · 22/11/2021 22:08

@sunflower198
Heres wishing you a lovely scan and wonderful news tomorrow..do keep us updated dear xxxx

CurryandSnuggle · 22/11/2021 22:39

@pregnancydiaries lol I watched it and did wonder about anyone still suffering morning sickness! Could not have watched this a couple of weeks ago…

pregnancydiaries · 22/11/2021 22:40

My toast and peanut butter did not enjoy it @CurryandSnuggle 😂😂

RoseValleyRambles · 22/11/2021 22:51

Good luck to those with scans and bookings tomorrow! May you sleep sound and have a nausea free breakfast... That's about as much as any of us can hope for these days...

Willow1981 · 22/11/2021 23:37

@MrsNT I've only had about 2 /3 days of it too at about 8 weeks. I'm 11+3 now and feel fine but tired.

Clomid1 · 23/11/2021 03:56

@MrsNT 11 weeks tomorrow and nothing. Not even mild nausea 😅 i just want to eat the world

pregnancydiaries · 23/11/2021 06:40

Also joining the booking in appt team today! Good luck ladies x

Olive60 · 23/11/2021 06:53

@mrsnt I had zero sickness/nausea/symptoms with my first pregnancy.

Does anyone else compare pregnancies?! This one is totally different to my other. I wouldnt even know I was pregnant with my first! Although I did come out in really bad spots, deffo no pregnancy glow! But I could eat anything I wanted to and keep up with day to day life. I even remember going shopping 41+5 & out for a meal at 41+6.
This time my skins the clearest its ever been! I can not stomach the thought of food & I'm so drained yet can't sleep. Obviously happy with whatever my baby is but it would be lovely to have a boy as we have 4 girls between us!

Good luck to everyone else with their booking appts today! Mines just a phone call sadly (although I'm going to double check when they open!) at 2pm. 😊

Jam1985 · 23/11/2021 06:54

Hi all, newbie here, bit of a lurker, has been really helpful reading through everyone's experiences! Due first week of June, 12+1, scan is on Friday! Already had private one at 8 weeks, so hoping this one feels just as exciting. Have had pretty bad sickness for about last 6 weeks, but that seems to have gone the last few days! Anyone else had a bad cold? Picked something up and now turned into chest infection, so that's been a fun(!) replacement for the sickness!! Sorry a bit moany, just waiting for this lovely second trimester feeling I keep reading about....!

AlbatrossSociety · 23/11/2021 07:10

Also those with booking in appts today make sure you're well hydrated if they're going to take bloods! I was not well hydrated and they couldn't get any so have to go back next week!

CurryandSnuggle · 23/11/2021 07:26

@Prema112 on the sneezing point - it’s round ligament pain. Brought on by sudden movement e.g sneezing. I read that bending your knees and leaning forward when you sneeze eases it (apparently)

Ooh. Good tip. I twisted to get something yesterday and set it off - didn't realise it was caused by moving.
