@Willow1981 @Prema112 @PeeAche @unknownscot Thanks all. I'm going to call tomorrow and chase about the booking appt. A friend who had her baby a few months ago at the same hospital I'll be going to said her booking appt and scan were done as one. Hoping that's just the way it's done for this trust and I've not been forgotten!

@DaimDillyDoo Good luck with the scan tomorrow!

@Vimto1991 I hope you're okay! 💕

PlodandPod · 21/11/2021 22:21

Sending my apologies, I'm the kind of person who reads everything but doesn't contribute as I don't feel like I have much to say. I'm not a big social media user either and struggle a bit with sharing. But from someone on the sidelines you all provide a lot of laughs and reassurance so thank you 🥰

Ive been looking for maternity jeans because of bloatimg mid day onwards.. problem is all are skinny jeans. Hardly any that are wide legged or straight cut. Ordered some from dorothy perkins sale so lets see
Had a look at Dresses too for idea of what is available and thet all look horrendous. ..checked new look , h&m , dp, boohoo. All are polyester material and grey or black!

MrsNT · 22/11/2021 00:11

@Vimto1991 sorry hit post without typing anything. Hope u r doing ok xx did you call insurance?

ALHCTPS · 22/11/2021 07:40

Those looking for maternity jeans, if you’re looking for something good quality and prepared to pay a bit more, check out DL1961 maternity jeans on OUTNET, the Net-a-Porter discount site. J Brand maternity jeans are good too. I’ve picked up some good second-hand pairs on EBay. Boob Design, a Swedish company, are really good for well made maternity and then breastfeeding-friendly clothes and underwear. Their bras are the only ones I can handle wearing right now, my boobs are so tender.

ALHCTPS · 22/11/2021 07:43

And totally agree that it’s bloody annoying how much polyester is involved in even the more expensive maternity clothes. I prefer natural fibres at the best of times, but especially right now. I want soft and comfortable, but also don’t want to look like a total slob, as I need to be pulled together for work.

ALHCTPS · 22/11/2021 07:48

@MrsNT check out Boob Design. Really good quality. But be warned that you have to keep the order under £135 to avoid getting stung by customs (thanks, Brexit) and you have to pay postage for Returns. H&M are the best high street option, I’ve found. But it’s bloody annoying that everything is black and grey. There are quite a lot of non-maternity knit dresses out there that work well. And I wear a lot of denim, cotton and corduroy tunic dresses that have adapted well.

CurryandSnuggle · 22/11/2021 07:58

I haven’t ordered from them yet but I bought dresses from Seraphine last time, a specialist maternity brand. Very good quality!

I’ve ordered stuff from Dorothy Perkins and New look this time. Some good, some bad. Will give a better review later when I get 5 minutes!! Xx

CurryandSnuggle · 22/11/2021 08:03

@Vimto1991 so sorry to read about your car crash. Sounds terrifying. Hope you are ok and wishing you look and reassurance on your private scan ❤️

RoseValleyRambles · 22/11/2021 08:14

There's lots of stuff on vinted, including some of the pricier brands. Saves spending £££ too!

ALHCTPS · 22/11/2021 08:19

@CurryandSnuggle I’ve been disappointed by Seraphine this time round. So much polyester and yet not polyester prices. I’ve been going mad trying to find smart-ish trousers for work that aren’t jeans or leggings and I thought they’d be able to sort me out. Nope. I get the waistband needs to be elastane/polyester/whatever, but does the rest of the fabric really have to be itchy and synthetic? @RoseValleyRambles Vinted is a good call. I used EBay a lot last time.

ALHCTPS · 22/11/2021 08:22

It’s really annoying - I thought I was sorted for pregnancy clothes after last time. But what I was forgetting was that I was due at the exact opposite time of year - end of December last time and end of June this time. And I’m already showing as much as when I was 17 weeks, so what’s the bet I’ll be fucking enormous. Urgh. This is a MUCH wanted baby, but pregnancy is bloody awful.

Prema112 · 22/11/2021 08:44

Ladies who've had UTI's, what were your symptoms? I've had a very low bad ache/pressure since Friday & cloudy pee but no pain when peeing or blood or anything. Wondering if it could be a UTI...

lollylunaxouk · 22/11/2021 08:44

Hello all I am new to this site I am 9+1 weeks due June 2022 Smile I have had very mild symptoms but suddenly over last few days symptoms have disappeared completely. Have contacted GP and waiting for their advice feel like am in a perpetual waiting game... I had implantation bleeding at the beginning and ended up with the EPU at my local hospital we saw baby at 6 weeks and a heartbeat but feel like I spend my life in a worry.

RoseValleyRambles · 22/11/2021 09:01

I've just bitten the bullet and bought some tights and leggings, as waistbands are so uncomfy. Must admit, there are a lot of really horrid styles. I am not one for a wrap-front top, and it looks like that may become a problem...

Turniptracker · 22/11/2021 09:07

Has anyone elses skin completely rebelled against them? Feel like my face would read as a good short story in braille right now given how lumpy and bumpy it is. Doing nothing for my self confidence!

Rolledthedice · 22/11/2021 09:29

@lollylunaxouk try not to worry if you can (easier said that done I know!) It’s great that you saw a heartbeat early on. I had very mild symptoms too that just seemingly disappeared around the 9 week mark. I think some of us are just lucky with early symptoms! I’m enjoying feeling like myself again.

3yearstrying · 22/11/2021 09:31

@Turniptracker absolutely! We were talking about this in the last thread, a few people suffering the same. I did for a good 2-3 weeks, but pleased to say as of yesterday it seems to have cleared up! Push through and keep your skincare good it will pass. I think with all the hormones your body just purges through your skin somtimes. Im 11+6 if thats any indication for you as to when mine cleared Smile

RoseValleyRambles · 22/11/2021 09:39

Anyone know if it's an issue if your 12 week scan is a little early? Mines currently booked for what's probably mid week 11...

Vimto1991 · 22/11/2021 09:43

Thank you @PlodandPod, taking today off work and tomorrow morning to check on the little bean. :)
@MrsNT I had to contact them but they were closed, had to sort my car out as the air bags went off and it’s pretty smashed up so it had to be recovered.
@CurryandSnuggle thank you for the well wishes :)

rathernotshare · 22/11/2021 10:04

@RoseValleyRambles anywhere from 11+3 is fine 😊

CurryandSnuggle · 22/11/2021 10:23

@RoseValleyRambles that should be fine. NHS website says the dating scan can be between 8-14 weeks: www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/

I think they normally aim for 12 weeks but 11 should be fine. Smile

PeeAche · 22/11/2021 10:28

Oh my - I'm just catching up. @Vimto1991 what!!?? You poor woman! I'm so glad you're okay. I have everything crossed for a happy result at your early scan tomorrow.

Welcome to @lollylunaxouk 😘

@Prema112, I get a lot of UTIs. Mine usually start with a pressure at the very bottom of the urethra, that feels a bit like I need to wee constantly. It's not really painful, but ... pain adjacent, if that makes any sense. Cloudy urine is also a sign. You can do a test by calling the GP and arranging to collect and drop off a sample tube at reception (and then ring for the results.) Alternatively, I think they sell test strips on Amazon but I've never used them myself and cannot vouch for their accuracy.

I can't stop eating salt. It started with silly things like just adding a bit extra to my meals but now I sneak in the kitchen and dip my finger in the Maldon when nobody is looking. I feel like such a freak. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Also really enjoying tinned tuna with salad cream 🤢 and lashings of salt on top of bread. I have never liked salad cream and tuna is full of toxic mercury and I'm eating so much salt, I think I'm going to have a stroke. (I already feel like a terrible mother.)

@3yearstrying ah thank you it's good to know I'm not alone! I'm in my tenth week so hopefully skin will be on the mend. Currently living up to the teenage nickname of pizza face (thank god adults are kinder than teenagers)
