38+5 and seem to have hit peak physical discomfort. I have had PGP since week 12 and the third trimester has been terrible for sleep due to general discomfort, the baby kicking me and restless leg syndrome.

The baby has dropped now, and since yesterday I have had what feels like a permanent stitch on the very lower left part of my bump. The baby is moving lots, feels low, and this stitch pain is even more intense if I sit up (rather than lie down) or if I try to walk. I assume it's because the baby is low and pressing on a nerve.

The thought of another two or three weeks in this state is unbearable. Anyone else physically fed up, and just wishing that labour would start?

Yes!! 37+2 bit with a big old baby which is making it harder i imagine. Due on 27th buy having a section on 22nd due to previous emcs and size. Just hoping he stays in until then! So uncomfortable, he's engaged too movements are now so uncomfortable and sometimes really hurt me which I've never had previously (2nd baby) but nearing the end. Also what is sleep... and none stop heartburn.. its all good fun haha x

Latecomer131 · 08/11/2021 11:03

@Needingsupportplease , mine was just under being bang on average for weight at the 36 wk scan, but it seems that he's still managed to make engaging as uncomfortable as possible.
I've mostly been spared heartburn, so massive sympathy there!

I know the scans can be off anyway but my daughter was 8.6 at 40+4 and I'm only 5ft1 and was 8 stone pre pregnancy haha! And he's off the chart and over the 100th centile so glad I'm having a section. Yeah I've not had it before been pregnant this time, its bloody awful probs not helped by the fact all I do is eat.. haha, not long to go now. You had any twinges or anything x

Latecomer131 · 08/11/2021 11:35

Occasional Braxton Hicks, but haven't lost my mucus plug yet or had any other signs that labour is imminent.

Yup 37+1 and so fed up. Had blood tests this morning due to seriously itchy ankles/legs so hoping it's just a hormonal thing and not obstetric choleostasis. Also waiting for consultant appointment on Thursday to hopefully get booked in for ELCS (1st baby was EMCS) as at least then will have an end point!

JackJack84 · 08/11/2021 11:42

Yep! 38+2 & had PGP since 19 weeks. It was helped massively by the chiropractor, managed to get off my crutches but then came back with a vengeance at 36 weeks. I hired a TENS machine & that's helping loads as a lot of the pain is in my back. Thankfully I'm being induced tomorrow so I haven't got too much longer to wait. Sending you luck for the next couple of weeks!

JackJack84 · 08/11/2021 11:42

Oh and I have restless leg syndrome as wel & weirdly restless arm syndrome too, it was driving me insane last night!!

Latecomer131 · 08/11/2021 11:48

@JackJack84 you sound like you had a worse case of PGP worse I have had ( I managed to avoid crutches), so I am glad to hear that you're being induced tomorrow.

I think it's cos baby is so big (I have gestational diabetes) & I had a bad back & hips before pregnancy so it was probably inevitable!

Wiltshire90 · 08/11/2021 11:58

37+3 here, I had awful RLS to the point I was sleeping 90 mins a night! I was put on iron tablets and they have hugely relieved the symptoms. Baby keeps engaging its head and then going back up. Baby is also measuring HUGE so any movements very uncomfortable. Feel like this could go on for another 4 weeks Confused

T0rt0ise · 08/11/2021 12:56

@Wiltshire90 that's interesting, just had my blood test results and no OC thankfully but iron levels are low and have really bad restless legs. Hopefully the tablets might help!

FrancesFlute · 08/11/2021 13:08

I am! I'm 37+5 with my second and I'm just so uncomfortable now. I spent my days groaning loudly every time I have to move. Toddler DS keeps insisting I come down onto the floor to play with him and it is just horrendous getting back up. My heartburn is awful every evening - feel like I need to sleep upright in a chair. I am also very very breathless and have been since second trimester. Baby also feels quite low. My first came at 40+4 and I don't really want to go over that as I just want him out so the breathlessness will improve.

ElmtreeMama · 08/11/2021 13:42

37+5 here and seriously fed up!
SPD since 12 weeks and now on crutches
GD and on insulin
On clexane
In a lot of pain with every movement

Having braxton hicks but no other signs unfortunately

Wiltshire90 · 08/11/2021 13:47

@T0rt0ise we are obviously having similar pregnancy journeys! I was also investigated for OC and my bile levels were raised but borderline. They gave me some anti-histamines (not stuff you can get on the shelf) and some cream for the itching which helped!

Latecomer131 · 08/11/2021 14:09

@ElmtreeMama , that sounds like a really tough combo of issues to deal with. Hoping you get some relief soon.

Mee! Due 24th but baby measuring biiig so they're checking next week about sooner. Had enough. Left for maternity last week instead of this because I'm so tired, uncomfortable and can't focus. I've become a moody cow as well ConfusedBlush

Namenic · 08/11/2021 14:33

I am 36+6 and feel so bloated. Getting pgp, constipation and heartburn. But baby is measuring slightly small? I dunno how. I suppose at least I can feel her kicks well (better than my previous 2 - so I don’t have to worry and wonder if I should call the delivery unit).

ScotsMumOf4 · 08/11/2021 15:20

37+4 and absolutely done with this now. Baby has dropped and I'm so uncomfortable and fed up with being stuck in the house. Had contractions every 20 mins for a full day that turned into nothing and now having no twinges. Also if one more person asks if I think I'm close/baby here yet I might actually explode. My response now is yeah I had him last week and forgot to tell everyone 🙄😅

NS1988 · 08/11/2021 16:08

39+5 midwife appointment tomorrow and hopefully I’m favourable for a sweep which she said she might be able to do last time I went. FTM has anyone previously had one before, unsure of what to expect? Anyone have bleeding or issues after it? Uncomfortable and struggle to sleep so hopefully baby arrives soon. Getting fed up of people messaging because they want to know if I’ve had any signs of baby yet 🙄

Potterurotter · 08/11/2021 16:13

Yep 38+3 and after seeing midwife on Saturday I’ve been referred for an urgent growth scan tomorrow as she seems to be same size as two weeks ago and on bottom of chart at 5th percentile! Hoping it’s just some inaccurate fundal measurements. Also had lots of movement and pressure today and had people in trying to get the heating working for 8 hours so far when I just want to slob and nap!

I had a sweep at 40+2 with my first. Labour started that night - although of course that could have been a coincidence! It was a quite painful experience (the sweep) but I would do it again if this one still hasn't come by 40 weeks.
JamDoughnut21 · 08/11/2021 17:45

39+3 here ladies - due Friday. Have a mw app on Thursday so I’m really hoping she may offer a sweep, we’ll see. Absolutely no sign of labour apart from irregular pain and a bit of pressure.

Baby has measured small throughout and has been diagnosed with a cleft lip & probable palette - so I’m eager to get this pregnancy over with for lots of reasons but I’ve only become really really uncomfortable in the last week or so - it just hit me all of a sudden! Albeit I do not have the biggest bump in the world so I guess I’m lucky. Fingers crossed for us ladies xx

T0rt0ise · 08/11/2021 19:09

@NS1988 I always explain a sweep as being fingered by a 14 year old boy. Not pleasant but bearable!

T0rt0ise · 08/11/2021 19:11

@Wiltshire90 thankfully I've managed to avoid having to take anything other than the iron but if the itching continues I'll be speaking out some anti-histamines myself - awake with it for hours last night Confused.
