Anyone due Nov and reached the seriously fed up/uncomfortable stage?

38+5 and seem to have hit peak physical discomfort. I have had PGP since week 12 and the third trimester has been terrible for sleep due to general discomfort, the baby kicking me and restless leg syndrome.

The baby has dropped now, and since yesterday I have had what feels like a permanent stitch on the very lower left part of my bump. The baby is moving lots, feels low, and this stitch pain is even more intense if I sit up (rather than lie down) or if I try to walk. I assume it's because the baby is low and pressing on a nerve.

The thought of another two or three weeks in this state is unbearable. Anyone else physically fed up, and just wishing that labour would start?

@Sussexgirlie5 absolutely and tomorrow night too if you feel up to it. Also I've read that injesting sperm can be more effective than sex... can't think of anything worse right now but my dp is hoping I get fed up enough to try 🤦‍♀️😂

T0rt0ise · 11/11/2021 17:09

@Sussexgirlie5 all of our letters say not to bring them as well. Thankfully the midwife appeared not long after I posted! All booked in for C-section and just waiting on a call from the anesthetist to talk through the any complications with the spinal due to fracturing my vertebrae Smile

ScotsMumOf4 · 11/11/2021 17:09

@T0rt0ise how did it go with the consultant?

T0rt0ise · 11/11/2021 17:11

@ScotsMumOf4 in the end I just saw the midwife and she coordinated with the consultant but all booked in for c-section with no fuss so I'm happy!

ScotsMumOf4 · 11/11/2021 17:16

@T0rt0ise aw you must be so excited knowing you've got your date all sorted 😄

Sussexgirlie5 · 11/11/2021 17:42

@ScotsMumOf4 lol oh my!! Fuck that 😂 I will not be ingesting none of that!! But will have a go with sex today and tomorrow

T0rt0ise · 11/11/2021 18:25

@ScotsMumOf4 just got to hope she doesn't decide to make an appearance before then HmmGrin

ScotsMumOf4 · 11/11/2021 18:54

@Sussexgirlie5 good luck 😁

@T0rt0ise everything crossed 😅

38 +1 here. Got sent for a scan today as had a stand in midwife for my appointment and thought baby turned back to feet down.
Turns out it's head down and bum in the air!
I moved my mat leave by 2 weeks due to stress so now on week 3. House is spotless, tv is boring me and I've had enough. It hurts to walk more than 20mins but then I feel Like I'm turning in to Mrs Blobby just sitting around.
The leg pains at 3am, not cramp, but a bad ache in the left leg doesn't help, then there is the 0345 peeing on the dot. That seems to make little one think it's time to wake up and have a wriggle.
Sorry for the moan but just want little one here now.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 11/11/2021 22:01

38+6 here. Fed up of not being able to sleep. And then the sudden hip pains started up yesterday so now can't stand for more than a few mins at a time. Spending a lot of time on my ball to take the pressure off. Hope she's arriving soon.
@Lizlou85 omg the night peeing!! It's so annoying. I lie awake for ages after.

Latecomer131 · 11/11/2021 22:16

@Lizlou85 , I definitely relate to finding more than 20 mins of walking is all my pelvis can cope with, but then feeling lethargic and sluggish from the lack of exercise.

I am 39+1, had a midwife appointment today, and she thinks my baby is "back-to-back" which will make for a longer and more painful labour unless he spins so that his stomach is facing me rather than his back.

I've been told to sit on a gym ball and try being on all fours for 10 mins at a time in order to encourage him to turn.

I am also getting fed up with the need for repeated nocturnal loo visits. It was just before 5 am today and it took me ages to get back to sleep afterwards.

I no was suffering from PGP, although osteo and physio did allow me to cope and stop
It getting worse, but since baby has become more engaged I don’t have that PGP anymore, so hang in!!

I’ve just demolished a hot and spicy dominoe pizza.

It’s funny how on my birth plan I was “no sweeps, no inductions” bla bla, here I am at 40+4 and would happily be induced tomo 🤣 I’ve had 5 hrs sleep this week, I know sleeping won’t be better with a newborn but at least I’d be comfortable 🤷‍♀️ The joy…

Lizlou85 · 11/11/2021 22:35

@PatientlyWaiting21 my birth plan says C section if emergency but tbh if they offered a C section next week I'd take it.
I'm still set on no forceps.
I'm a little worried about the night peeing as my friend said her now 2yo use to make her go around 5am, then when she was born... bang 5am she'd wake for a feed. I'd rather 5am to 345 however.

One of the first things I'm looking forward to doing is 1 sleeping on my stomach and 2 a nice long walk with out pain.

My new best friend is a hot water bottle, how sad is that, but it does help.

T0rt0ise · 12/11/2021 04:54

@PatientlyWaiting21 with number 1 I definitely slept better after he was born than before!

@Lizlou85 if baby is back to back you have my utmost sympathy. Number 1 was and it was not fun Confused pethadine is your friend for getting some rest! (I'd always said I didn't want it as it can make you sick but it was the only thing that allowed me to get any rest in a very long labour so well worth it!)

Lizlou85 · 12/11/2021 06:01

@T0rt0ise thanks for the advice. No LO is thankfully the correct way around. Think it just wanted use to see its bum on the bug screen yesterday.

Broke the 0345 wake up this morning, made it to 545. Hubby now snoring so that's me awake now.

Latecomer131 · 12/11/2021 08:38

@T0rt0ise , it's me with the back-to-back baby. Thanks for the pethadine tip.

I am supposed to be giving birth in the midwife led unit, and they have pethadine (I think) but if I decide that the pain is so bad that I need an epidural I will have to be transferred to the delivery ward, which I want to avoid, if possible, as the MLM seems much nicer and private. However, whether I can stay at the MLM is contingent on the birth being reasonably straightforward.

Ah, my bad @Latecomer131 - that's what I get for sleepless typing Grin Is the MLU part of the hospital or a separate unit entirely? I started off in the MLU at the local hospital and then made my way through the various other units in the hospital until the little man finally made an appearance by C-section (I had other complications than back-to-back though).

Latecomer131 · 12/11/2021 17:33

@T0rt0ise the MLU is part of the hospital, it's not a standalone one, so if I need to be transferred it will be very quick.

Another morning with pregnancy insomnia, all because I needed a wee at 1am. Too hot with both arms and legs under the duvet, too cold to have them outside, definitely too hot to put the heating on. I’m constipated and my stomach is gurgling like mad, my nipples are so itchy and both hips hurt after a few minutes of lying on that side. DH is also encroaching on my pillow. This isn’t acceptable at the best of times but at the minute I think it’s grounds for leaving the bastard! Although I need him to drive me to the hospital…

My fasting blood glucose levels are all over the place, probably because I’m not sleeping. I went to MAU with reduced movements and concerns over my glucose levels today. I had an induction booked for 39 weeks due to GD but I’ve agreed to an earlier one because I’m getting quite anxious about it. So new induction date of the 19th when I’ll be 38+1.

T0rt0ise · 14/11/2021 05:48

@InTheNightWeWillWish you have my sympathy!

Still chronically itchy here which is making sleep somewhat hard to come by. Had a cold shower in the middle of the night which gave some brief respite until the toddler woke up for a wee!

Lizlou85 · 14/11/2021 10:34

@InTheNightWeWillWish I think hubby's encroaching on pillow space at this late stage is grounds for cold shoulder and over dramatic pregnantzillas (like a bridezilla). Mine asked me if I was OK this morning while I was trying to sit up in bed, so he got a long list of my aches n pains from a bad night sleep. I can't shake a pain all down my left leg, my feet and legs aren't swollen it's just a dull ache in the bone.

bookwitch13 · 14/11/2021 22:18

Hello! Sweep update,
Still no luck 😭 cervix still high up and closed, though I’ve done a lot of reading and am reassured this doesn’t mean I’ll never go into labour myself as the cervix can literally completely change in a matter of hours.
I have another appointment on Wednesday to see if they can progress any more and an induction booked for Sunday 21st.
Come on baby!!!

ScotsMumOf4 · 15/11/2021 13:32

@bookwitch13 I'm not overly a fan of sweeps. I've had 3 in previous pregnancies and none of them worked, had my babies 1 day early and 1 day late, so yes definitely do not be disheartened.

I have given up trying to force get this baby out 😅 38+4 and the other day I tried loads of raspberry leaf tea, a warm bath, expressing colostrum, ate the spiciest curry I could, bounced on my ball for about 5 hours and sex... still effing pregnant. It didn't even give me one single braxton hicks 😭😂

All signs of me going into labour any time soon have totally disappeared and I'm feeling quite good🤯

Latecomer131 · 17/11/2021 11:50

@bookwitch13 , I am in the same situation. I have a sweep scheduled for tomorrow and if that doesn't work, induction has been booked for the 28th. Really hoping these babies come of their own accord before we need to be induced.

Whens your section booked for @T0rt0ise

I'm 38+4 now, Just been for my last scan and consultant app, baby boy is predicted to be 8.8 already haha!! He's coming out Monday via c-section though so doesn't matter about his size aslong as he's healthy. I've felt really good the last few days enjoying my last few days of been pregnant for the last time! Hope everyone is ok x
