Anyone due Nov and reached the seriously fed up/uncomfortable stage?

38+5 and seem to have hit peak physical discomfort. I have had PGP since week 12 and the third trimester has been terrible for sleep due to general discomfort, the baby kicking me and restless leg syndrome.

The baby has dropped now, and since yesterday I have had what feels like a permanent stitch on the very lower left part of my bump. The baby is moving lots, feels low, and this stitch pain is even more intense if I sit up (rather than lie down) or if I try to walk. I assume it's because the baby is low and pressing on a nerve.

The thought of another two or three weeks in this state is unbearable. Anyone else physically fed up, and just wishing that labour would start?

Good luck @Needingsupportplease - being first is good, means less chance of hold ups and more likely to get out the next day! Mines likely to be in the afternoon and I'm dreading it because it means it's more likely to be two nights in Confused

Needingsupportplease · 21/11/2021 23:05

I'm only guessing because I'm in at 7.30.. now just hoping they don't have me waiting a long time 🤞

Just wanted to pop back in a say our littpe girl was delivered at 1700 last night in a lovely relaxed ELCS. She's a definite cuddler and I had to ask a lovely midwife to look after her for a couple of hours so I could get some sleep but she's now snoozing away in her cot happily. Hoping to be home today if all goes well.

Hope the rest of you are feeling more comfortable/have happy little bundles

Congratulations @T0rt0ise DS was born on the 22nd at 12.30 weighing 8.13! Not had any sleep at all so far as he loves the boob and is a pooing machine but well get there and he's very much worth it d

T0rt0ise · 24/11/2021 23:01

@Needingsupportplease did you get sent home with fragmin/anti coagulation injections? I clearly skipped the having to be stabbed every day for a week bit when researching Confused

Needingsupportplease · 25/11/2021 11:06

Yeah @T0rt0ise they don't give them out anymore unless you score on a chart of risk factors, I only have them because my dad had a pulmary embolism so they've given me them just as a precaution otherwise I wouldn't of had them. How are you getting on? This little man doesn't sleep during the night at all, my nipples are shredded but my milk is in and I couldn't be happier haha xx

T0rt0ise · 25/11/2021 14:17

@Needingsupportplease yeah, my BMI is higher than with pregnancy number 1 so I suspect that's tipped me over.

Sounds pretty similar, I forgotten how painful the initial weeks of breastfeeding are Confused and this little one is definitely nocturnal, think I managed maybe an hours sleep so am running on vimto Grin little girl has about of jaundice so also waiting on blood test results to see if she needs any UV treatment (she's only just over the threshold so I doubt it)

T0rt0ise · 25/11/2021 14:17

*a bit

Needingsupportplease · 26/11/2021 01:41

Have they not given you any? Defo chase them up. Yes absolute agony haha! I managed to do all day until 5pm when he was very unsettled so gave him a formula top up and have just given breast since. He's on it constantly and I'm so sore but really want it to work this time. He also poos about 10 times a day especially when I've just changed him and hates having his nappy done. I'm obsessed with him though.. 😍

Just an update from me. I had a quick but eventful labour and DS was born at 1.37am on the 21st (4 days over my due date).

My labour progressed too quickly which caused DS's heart rate to drop , so I ended up having forceps and episiotomy to get him out ASAP.

DS is fine and doing really well. I got sent home with the fragmin injections due to the blood loss, and I don't think DH is enjoying having to stab me in the thigh with a needle each night.Grin

@latecomer131 congratulations! Glad he is doing well now.

Fragmin is the worst! Not so much the actual injection but the stinging afterwards Confused only 3 more days of injections to go here!

Latecomer131 · 28/11/2021 05:35

@T0rt0ise , yes, the delayed pain is so weird. I find myself bracing for standard injection pain when the needle goes in, only to feel nothing during but then a sharp stinging starting maybe 20 seconds afterwards.
DH thinks perhaps there is s numbing agent in the injection which wears off quickly causing the delayed injection pain. In any case, it's a very weird sensation.

I'm on the jabs too. I was told it was ok to take paracetamol with the injection as it stings. Feel a bit like a pin cushion and still have until Monday to go with them.
Had my 1st COVID vaccine today and dreading it might sting, didn't feel a thing compared to the jabs hospital sent me home with.
