Glad to have found the new thread! Anyone else 6 weeks tomoz? I had to tell my boss yesterday and someone I work with who I play raquet sports with as I didn't want to get my heart rate too high during our games so had to come clean with her. For some reason I'm really weird and awkward telling people like it's all really cringe. Haven't a clue why I feel like this

Seabreeze2 · 20/10/2021 18:07

Congratulations @courtslous 😁💕

MO22 · 20/10/2021 18:09

This is exactly where I am... I want to tell my close friends, and if I had a miscarriage I'd like to think if lean on them! But also just kinda feel like I might jinx it as it's soooo early. I think having an early scan at 9 weeks will help and I'll tell people afterwards. Problem is I'm such a boozer usually I'm sure everyone will guess. Just pretending to have an ongoing UTI at the mo!

MO22 · 20/10/2021 18:12

She sounds lovely, glad they were nice! Hoping for all the best for you xx

Brightsmoke · 20/10/2021 18:18

Oh ladies, I'm so sorry you're feeling so worried. I was like this with my first, and got into my head that worrying wouldn't change what happens, so try not to worry 😘.
I had bleeding at around 8 weeks with my boy, it's horrible but totally normal.

Also know what you mean about the fitness @Wellthiswasunexpected. I've got a half marathon in a few weeks, and every time I do a long run, I get a dull ache. But I had a scan today and the little heart is beating, so it really won't be hurting baby

Wellthiswasunexpected · 20/10/2021 18:21

@Brightsmoke Oh I’m so glad to hear it! Thanks for the reassurance :) congrats on your happy scan and good luck with the half marathon!

CurryandSnuggle · 20/10/2021 19:05

@Brightsmoke and @Wellthiswasunexpected I ran the London Marathon a few weeks ago, the main problem I experienced was nausea. But I read up a lot on the safety of it beforehand as I was scared. Tommy’s says running in pregnancy is safe, and keeping up your normal levels of activity or what your body is used to is absolutely fine. Make sure you don’t dehydrate. Xx

Did you!! I did too but I had no idea I was pregnant! I'm so impressed you did it knowing you were pregnant, how far gone were you? I definitely would have used it as an excuse not to do it if I'd had known ha.

i123i · 20/10/2021 19:28

Good evening ladies! Hope it’s ok for me to join you all. I’m only just 4 weeks, so I know it’s very early days and I’m trying not to get too carried away but I can’t help it! Have had 3 BFPs so far.
I would be due 30th June 2022 based on my ovulation date (and 28 June based on first day of last cycle), so I only just make it into this lovely group 😊💗.
Debating about contacting the midwife in a few days to arrange the first appointment - but also don’t want to jinx it! Still planning to take a few pregnancy tests to be sure over the next few days!

@Brightsmoke - that so awesome you’re running and doing a half marathon. I jogged a few times in the TWW and was paranoid, but like you said, it’s good for you (and like @CurryandSnuggle says - should be fine if you’ve been doing it pre-pregnancy).

Impressed with @CurryandSnuggle and @MO22 running the London marathon while pregnant 👏🏼

i123i · 20/10/2021 19:30

Also who has everyone told so far that they’re pregnant? I’ve only told my husband so far… think I’ll keep it that way until 12 week scan if possible. So tricky though.

Prema112 · 20/10/2021 19:38

@PeeAche I know how you feel about one minute imagining holding my baby in June and the next minute imagining miscarrying 😔 Today I didn't feel sick all morning and I was Googling loss of symptoms most of the morning instead of working. I'm now feeling sick as a dog and quite relieved but also a bit silly. I can't wait to be off this rollercoaster and further into pregnancy.

I've told my mum as I can't cope without her knowing, I'm texting her every 5 minutes worrying about the pregnancy. We've also told a few friends and family as if I miscarry again I'll need a lot of support. We also believe in the power of prayer so we've got them all praying. I won't tell more general people until much later on though, the ones we've told are sworn to secrecy!

Unarosaes · 20/10/2021 19:51

We have told only my parents and are planning to tell my sister in law next time we see her. My DP doesn't want to tell his parents at least until we have had our first scan. My first pregnancy endedn in MMC and he doesn't want his parents to have to deal with the loss. I was thinking about telling one or two close friends but last time I told one friend, who told her parents, who told their other daughter, who told her boyfriend... etcetera. The joys of living in a small town.

Dogmum5 · 20/10/2021 19:54

Ive told parents, siblings and a few close friends who I told about the MC. We agreed that we wanted to be open from the beginning that if the worst was to happen again our support network already know.

Think it just depends on what you feel comfortable with.

i123i · 20/10/2021 19:56

@Prema112 - with you on the praying front!! Storming heaven! And on the rollercoaster of “oh no I have no symptoms at the moment” and googling etc.

@Unarosaes - that’s good you have your parents support. I am not going tell my mum yet and she’d get FAAAAAR to excited. How annoying about the friend of yours spreading the word around. That’s my worry, so I’d rather not tell anyone for a while if I can.

i123i · 20/10/2021 19:58

@Dogmum5 - can totally understand that especially if you have history of a MC. Sorry to hear that. 💗 This is my first BFP, but can see the advantage of telling some people as it’s important not to deal with it alone either.

unknownscot · 20/10/2021 20:04

@i123i

We've told our parents, siblings and a handful of close friends who knew when our embryo transfer was as were ivf.
We will tell others after our 8'week scan.

I work in the NHS so will tell work next week when I'm back.

X

Brightsmoke · 20/10/2021 20:16

Wow, well done on the London marathon! I'm a bit gutted in a way as I was all set for a sub 2hr half, but now I'm barely able to train with the nausea.

I've told a fair few people already. I work for the emergency services, so have told my team, and the outer units will probably have guessed why I'm suddenly on desk duty. My running buddy I told, just in case I had a fall whilst out. I've got a group of 8 really really close friends, who I met on here 5 years ago with, who I've told. Also one of my best friends. I'll tell my parents when I see them next week, and then my in-laws when we see them in November. My husband jokes that everyone but the important people know already!

MrsNT · 20/10/2021 20:30

Is anyone here on metaformin for pcos?

TinyTickler · 20/10/2021 20:45

@PeeAche the hormones won't be helping but give yourself a break. You cannot control the outcome, and worrying yourself sick will do you more harm

Today you are pregnant. Focus on the here and now, and what you know.

CurryandSnuggle · 20/10/2021 20:48

@PeeAche Easier said than done but I would focus on eating healthy, limiting caffeine RTC and just being the best baby-grower you can be.

On another note, I think I’ve found my nausea cure! Peppermint tea. Had a cup and I am magically better after feeling sick ALL day.

I know NHS website says no more than 4 cups of herbal tea in a day though, so I’m going to buy some mints to suck on tomorrow as well.

CurryandSnuggle · 20/10/2021 20:52

Apologies previous note was supposed to eat etc, not sure why it’s autocorrected to RTC 😂

@MrsNT

Is anyone here on metaformin for pcos?
Yep! I'm still taking it but not sure entirely if I should as I can't get through to a GP. The internet and my long suffering doctor sister say it's fine...
Clomid1 · 20/10/2021 21:05

@mrsNT yep 1000mg I was told to take it until 14 weeks

MrsNT · 20/10/2021 21:14

@clomid1 I was initially told 12 weeks but lets see. Im happy to take it as lomg as possible if it has benefits .
