Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone is a similar stage to me and how you're feeling. A tiny part of me feels a bit emotional that this will be my last pregnancy and it's nearly over, but a very, very large part of me is thoroughly fed up!

Anyone else? :)

Thanks @8dpwoah that's really helpful! I would 100% want an epidural if they wanted to use the drip. I'm not great at advocating for myself in these situations and hate feeling so vulnerable!

@mrssunshinexxx I've not had one this time but had one with my first which did nothing, did they say how dilated you are?
@marykitty are you having any scar pain ? I'm anxious about rupture I know it's v rare but I have quite a small gap
@mrssunshinexxx I completely understand, it is also my biggest fearConfused and the reason why I will avoid induction.
No, I do not have any real pain, I could feel the scar "stretching" a bit during my second trimester.
My gap is 2.5 years.
You? Do you have any pain?

Bananapancakes6 · 31/10/2021 20:43

@8dpwoah Really interesting to hear about your experiences, thank you for sharing.

mrssunshinexxx · 01/11/2021 04:14

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles wasn't dilated at all just cervix open and soft at bottom but still slightly closed at the top it's like a tube I think?
@marykitty I get the odd niggle but nothing major I don't think I keep telling myself how rare rupture is because it really is but then if it happened it's going to be bad it's a shit situation. My gap is 16 months and same I have declined induction minus sweeps if you class that as z

So, I am now heading to my due date check up, cannot believe it happened again Confused around me all people wich were due later than me, are starting to have babies....feel like a dejavu from last pregnancy.

I guess I just like to cook my babies well doneConfused

mrssunshinexxx · 01/11/2021 13:55

@marykitty have you got an elective booked if you don't go into labour by x day? X

Bananapancakes6 · 01/11/2021 20:04

@marykitty how did the appointment go?

I went in for reduced movements this morning, baby was very quiet over night. Thankfully everything is fine, but the hospital have messed up big time and not got me properly assigned on their system (I was transferred from another hospital at 32 weeks) and I should have had 2 or 3 growth scans and a meeting with fetal medicine in that time (baby has a heart anomaly) so this week I have to go back and have a growth scan and a meeting with a consultant.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 01/11/2021 23:04

Blimey @Bananapancakes6 that's not very good! How long have you got left? Sounds like your care has been really compromised, i hope everything is ok!

Growth scan and due date appointment on Wednesday for me, with a view to being induced early next week if no baby! What on earth is he doing in there Hmm i was so convinced he'd come early!

Today is my due dateSmile

@mrssunshinexxx I am waiting a call from the hospital to confirm the slot, should be next tuesdsy morning (41 weeks). I have the feeling baby will be stubborn and we will need the ELCS Sad how are you feeling today?

Appointment went good, we confirmed that we are going to wait max until next tuesday, no induction, cervix is soft but still super high and posterior.

@Bananapancakes6 how on earth did they manage to forget? Shock Finger crossed for your consulant meeting Flowers

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles I also wonder what is she doing still inside, I am 5 feet tall and literally no space left, she definitely cannot be confortable in there! Grin

mrssunshinexxx · 02/11/2021 09:16

@marykitty mine is next Thurs going into sign consent papers this morn. I do think mine will come before then but the closer it gets it will be abit of a head f**k?! are you having a sweep? I'm having another tomorrow I had one on Fri and cervix was open and soft at bottom but still slightly closed at the top so hoping for some progress

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 02/11/2021 16:41

Had awful low down pressure all day, walked the dogs this morning so thought it was that but its not stopped! Getting cramps front and back so just dropped the other kids at their grandparents. Fingers crossed not another false alarm🤞

Can't get my bloody (brand new, £50) TENS machine to work so making do with a hot water bottle!

OP posts:
mrssunshinexxx · 02/11/2021 17:02

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles oh bloody hell re tens you need it on I loved mine can your husband not work it out ., YouTube tutorial?

8dpwoah · 02/11/2021 17:30

Sounds positive! Persevere with the Tens, I thought it would be crap but it really helped in the first bit... And I knew things were really happening when I was turning it up three or four steps every contraction 😂 it stopped doing much for me after that point but was really helpful for a time!

Sounds like we could have a few more babies on the thread before too long!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 02/11/2021 17:36

Thankfully DP has got it working! I haven't used one in previous labours but definitely finding it helpful at the moment, though pain isn't too bad.

Think this could really be it.. After one trip to the labour ward and twice calling DP home for false alarms Blush

Just trying to keep distracted for now.. Fingers crossed I'm not wrong AGAIN Blush

Hi all just joining the thread. 36+3 and getting sore and really uncomfortable now. Second baby (5th pregnancy) first was extremely traumatic and ended up in emcs after a week of induction and failed intervention so booked in for an elective section on the 22nd. My previous scar is quite sore and so are my stretch marks which I didnt get the first time round! This baby is also measuring over the 97th centile so grateful for a section haha. Lovely to see some of you have had your babies and some are very near the end! Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone x

SweetSunflowerBoo · 02/11/2021 20:07

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles how are you doing now?

I'm 37+1 and was REALLY REALLY hoping today would be the day but I've had nothing. Light period cramps when I lay down at night but besides that f all.

Don't even think I've ever had any braxton hicks and if I have I haven't noticed before

Bananapancakes6 · 02/11/2021 20:48

@marykitty @Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles Thank you. Somewhere between the transfer between hospitals some key admin was missed it seems. Not good at all.

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles How exciting! I hope this is it for you!

Bananapancakes6 · 02/11/2021 20:50

@Needingsupportplease Welcome! Your first birth sounds rough. I hope this time can be a better experience for you. My first birth was traumatic and I suffered PND as a result, praying I get off easier this time.

How has your pregnancy been? My baby is also over the 97th centile now, after being 50th all the way through!

Needingsupportplease · 02/11/2021 21:56

Thankyou @Bananapancakes6 it definitely was! Had an 11 day hospital stay due to my birth and baby been born with sepsis. I knew something was wrong due to reduced movements and gut instinct but wasn't listened to, she was 8.6 at 40+4 and I'm 5ft1 and was 8 stone pre pregnancy haha! I also suffered from PND which im preying i avoid this time. This pregnancy has been much easier but struggling abit with anxiety but not long left now thank goodness, a scan at 35+1 predicted he was 6.6 already so well see how big he ends up haha 🤦🏼‍♀️ how has your pregnancy been x

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles I hope everything is going great Flowers

@mrssunshinexxx no, no sweeps but I do not live in the UK and here is not performed before 41 weeks, and this is when I will have ELCS! With DS1 i had placenta failure and this is the reason why they do not want to risk going too long...
But hospital did not call me back yet confirming ELCS date, unsure if this is normal....

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 03/11/2021 09:34

Took the kids to their grandparents, had my tens ramped up, waited until around 2am then.. Nothing. All stopped Sad tears have been shed!! Can't believe it!

OP posts:
Bananapancakes6 · 03/11/2021 09:57

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles Whattt! no! I can't believe that, I'm so sorry! Surely that means the real thing can't be far off. Did it taper off or just stop?

@Needingsupportplease Oh that does sound scary. Glad to hear your pregnancy has been ok tho, I feel way more anxious this time round as well, I think to a degree with your first baby ignorance is bliss a bit. I've found this pregnancy pretty hard, 3yo to look after, horrid PGP and lots of personal and financial issues going on. I've slept really badly these last 6 weeks or so too so I will be glad to get my non pregnant body back and have a good sleep on my tummy. Hopefully not long. I'm 39+5 today.

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles cannot believe it, it must be so frustrating! Sad Hang in there, you got this Flowers

On a different note, my DH has been WFH since 10 days (we have only 1 car, and he works more than 1 hour away, so it is not great in case labor starts and he is at work with our only car....)

Anyway, there were 2 covid cases in his Team yesterday and today and now the whole Team is isolating....and guess who has to go to the office? Envy
