Hi everyone made a new thread for all the ladies due end of March beginning of April 2022. We are coming to the end of the first trimester, some of you have already crossed that important milestone! Some are starting to get bumps and sickness could be leaving, has anyone got that 'glow' yet... fat chance

@Twinkles18 Amazing scan! Congratulations. Did your due date change at all? I'm guessing boy!

@Countingchicks Another lovely scan picture!🥰 Congratulations to you too. Any guesses to what you're having?

@Leen437 and @Cxjai792 How did your scans go?

This week is going to be sooooo long!

Twinkles18 · 14/09/2021 16:58

@Countingchicks your scan is amazing 🥰

@hayesdays @dyra ohh it's so exciting!! I'll definitely have to send it to them to see 🙊
@dyra yes my due date changed from 1st April to 28th March ❤ can't wait

Leen437 · 14/09/2021 17:22

Congratulations on your scans, such happy news. Mine went fine today measuring at 12w+4, Ive never been so nervous throughout the full thing.

Hayesdays · 14/09/2021 17:27

Aww such lovely scan photos…10 days to go until mine. Why is time so slow?!

Nervyy · 14/09/2021 18:27

So lovely to jump on today and see all those beautiful scan pics 😍 honestly so chuffed for everyone!
I have mine next Wednesday and I am so excited and impatient!!

Can I ask, when they do the scan and measure the nuchal fluid for screening, do they give you any idea then and there what they're seeing or do they wait and write to you??

Mazblue86 · 14/09/2021 19:03

Hello everyone. 12 weeks now! Such a relief to get here. I've got my scan tomorrow. Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures!

Bluebell88 · 14/09/2021 19:33

So lovely to see the amazing scan pictures! Congratulations @Twinkles18 @Countingchicks @Leen437

I had my booking apt today and have my scan on Thursday when I’ll be 12 weeks, so nervous but excited too.

I’ve also been completely exhausted and struggled to make it through the day without a nap. My nausea/sickness was awful towards the end of last week but seems to have started to ease off now. I finally felt up to getting out for a walk yesterday morning and felt so much better for it, working from home has its benefits but has also probably made me feel worse as I haven’t been out of the house much with being so busy with work and feeling so rubbish.

Also interest to know how much they tell you at the scan or how long you have to wait to hear results.

bubblepond · 14/09/2021 19:33

Ahhh it's so lovely to see all the scan pictures, congratulations everyone!

@Hayesdays is yours next Friday too?!

Hayesdays · 14/09/2021 20:03

Yes @bubblepond are we scan buddies?!

@Nervyy from what I remember with my DD scan they do give you a rough idea there and then but give an official report via letter

bubblepond · 14/09/2021 20:07

@Hayesdays yes we must be! It seems so far away!

Dyra · 14/09/2021 22:16

@Nervyy Yeah, they do. At the dating scan for DD, the sonographer was talking about what she was looking for/at at the time.

So many more scans this week! So exciting!

bubblybrit · 14/09/2021 22:17

Congratulations on all the beautiful scan photos 💗 so pleased for you all. It’s such a relief to see the little ones wriggling around!

DH and I have started to tell more people given I had a private scan at 11+2 (I’m 11+5 now) and everything looked perfect. Still waiting on the results from the NIPT but won’t get them until I’m closer to 13 weeks and I couldn’t wait until then to share the news with family/friends.

NHS scan isn’t until the 22nd but I’m super busy at work so hoping that the time passes quickly and then I’ll get to see the little one again 😀 xx

charley39 · 14/09/2021 22:20

@Nervyy yes when they do the measurements they should tell you. I think they told me that over 3.5mm was higher risk. They then combine it with bloods you have taken on your scan day aswell and I got my letter in the post two days later! Hope that helps!

Kat2022 · 14/09/2021 23:16

Hi Ladies, I’m new to mumsnet and I’m 10+4 pregnant with my first baby. Ive not had any letters through for my dating scan yet. Is this normal? Should I be chasing my appointment? The reason I’m starting to freak out is that Ive been very sick since week5, off work and on medication as I was very close to be hospitalised. My symptoms slightly disappeared in the past 2 days. I haven’t thrown up at all and average was 3-4 times a day. Should I be worried that something is not right? I am still feeling nauseous and no energy but I can control more what I eat and first time in 4 weeks I was able to cook a dinner (my husbands been looking after me). sorry for TMI just thought I would ask on here and wondered if any of you experienced anything similar :-)

Derbee · 15/09/2021 00:23

@Kat2022 I am the same as you, with sickness. I was about to be admitted to hospital for IV fluids, but have been on prescription medication which has helped. I was throwing up at least 5 or 6 times a day, and I now have some days where I’m not sick at all. It’s easy to worry when your symptoms are masked, I feel the same.

As for your appointment, I’d be trying to hurry them to book something. I saw a midwife at 8w5d and she booked my 12 week scan then, so I’ve had it booked for a while.

A lot of NHS trusts seem to be rather lax about all these appointments, but it would stress me out.

charley39 · 15/09/2021 04:30

@Kat2022 I would maybe give them a quick call just to double check? They only have limited time to do the dating scan if you want all the additional downs screening etc is my knowledge.
I received my scan way back when I had told my GP I was pregnant so around 5/6 weeks? I know every trust is different though but no harm in a quick phone call?

As for the sickness it can start to ease off but then it can come back unfortunately. I had small breaks in my last pregnancy and learnt to just make the most of being able to eat for those few days.

Cxjai792 · 15/09/2021 06:27

Hi ladies! Lovely to see everyone’s scan pics!!
My scan went really well today, baby was measuring 11w4days so just 3 days behind my original due date. Took awhile to measure fluid at the back of neck because baby was sleeping and in a awkward position but then started jumping around and waving.
They did find a cyst on the outside of one of my ovaries though but the lady wasn’t concerned.
Can’t wait to see everyone else’s scans

heywhatswrongwitu · 15/09/2021 06:41

Aw all these scan pics are fab! I'd forgotten how amazing it is to see them wriggling about so early on! Mine would not stay still.! No sign of the haematoma I had early on either.. phew!!

Kat2022 · 15/09/2021 08:42

@charley39 @Derbee thank you both! I’ve called my GP and they were just useless so I found a number for maternity ward/scans in the hospital and I managed to get my appointment in. They had nothing on the system. Oh and sorry derbee to hear about your morning sickness I know how exhausting it is. I’ve been trying to sip on water when I can- although it tastes gross 🤢

Scoaf · 15/09/2021 08:55

Oh wow all these Beautiful scans are getting me a bit more excited for mine now 😍 6 days and counting...
Did anyone have major anxiety before theirs? X

charley39 · 15/09/2021 09:39

@Kat2022 glad you manage to sort it! Honestly it’s so hit and miss with different GP’s/areas!

Cxjai792 · 15/09/2021 09:52

@Scoaf I had really bad anxiety before mine, I cried in the car on the way up there. Pregnancy is such an anxious time anyway I think. Good luck for yoursSmilex

Derbee · 15/09/2021 12:03

@Scoaf I’m feeling really nervous about my scan on Friday. Trying not to think about it, but also kind of looking forward to it. It’s very strange

Scoaf · 15/09/2021 12:32

@Cxjai792
Aww i think i might be the same. Glad yours went well. Thankyou. X

Scoaf · 15/09/2021 12:34

@Derbee
Yes im the same. More anxious than excited.
I keep getting cramps and backache which makes me worry but i know its all part of the process.
Just wish i could relax and enjoy it.
Good Luck with your scan. X
