Hi everyone made a new thread for all the ladies due end of March beginning of April 2022. We are coming to the end of the first trimester, some of you have already crossed that important milestone! Some are starting to get bumps and sickness could be leaving, has anyone got that 'glow' yet... fat chance

@Nats7504 everything I’ve read suggests a measurement of less than 3.5mm is normal, but I guess need to wait until they combine that with blood results.

They did say I have an anterior placenta which a bit of Googling suggests I won’t feel baby’s movements until a bit later which is a little disappointing but other than that completely normal.

Has anyone else who’s had babies before had an anterior placenta? Anything I should know/be aware of?

Scoaf · 16/09/2021 14:37

@Nats7504 ah wow. So glad everything went well for you. Bet you are so relieved. I read that the baby can feel u prodding and poking your tummy by 12 weeks 😀
Yes i will be having the screening too. Glad they tell you the NT measurements as that was something i was wondering about.
Did they say how long the full results will take to come ?
How exciting 😊

Mazblue86 · 16/09/2021 15:32

My picture from yesterday. 13 weeks instead of 12 apparently although I think that's impossible! 😊

Dyra · 16/09/2021 15:45

@Scoaf IIRC it's something like you'll hear in a few days if high risk, but a couple of weeks if it's all low risk. I think it's something like

Cxjai792 · 16/09/2021 16:39

@Dyra sounds like your induction was a good one! All that matters in the end that baby gets here safely but it’s so worth it you can forget half of what happened!
I feel you on the pushing part especially! I would prefer to have contractions all the way then the pressure to push! Thank you, I hope so and hopefully we all have the births we want! Fingers crossed they’re quicker!

Hayesdays · 16/09/2021 16:56

@Bluebell88 I had an anterior placenta with my DD. I think it really depends where on the front it is, mine was quite low to start so that meant I felt movements quite early on, tiny flutters around 14 weeks that got stronger and stronger.
Only issue I had was when I was about 24ish weeks, the placenta had grown and was on one side so if DD went behind there I couldn’t really feel her move which was scary. But after a lovely trip to the MLU I heard a very strong heart beat and could even hear her swishing about in there which meant she was moving but I couldn’t feel a thing! That only happened once for me though. But if you’re ever in any doubt just get yourself down to the midwives, they are so lovely and will happily have a listen to see what’s going on in there.
You’ll soon get use to your babies movements and you’ll learn what is normal for you both. Just trust your instincts ❤️

Please keep the scan photos coming everyone! Loving seeing them and they're making me more excited for my scan :)

Is anyone else's sickness getting worse rather than better? I'm 12+1 today and only been able to eat toast and plain crackers the last couple of days. I'm running out of foods that agree with me! Was hoping it would be better by now Sad

Nats7504 · 16/09/2021 21:10

@bubblepond I’ve been suffering from HG and still on meds from the drs. Still got nausea but only being sick on average once a day at 13+3, definitely got better over the past week so hang in there lovely. The end is in sight! 🙌

@Scoaf They said if the bloods came back high risk I’d hear back within 5 working days, but if it was low risk I’d get a letter within the next 2 weeks! Slightly apprehensive as she mentioned even though my NT was fine, my age may tip the scales 🙄

@Bluebell88 They didn’t mention my placenta today and didn’t have an anterior with my other 2. Will it move?

Derbee · 16/09/2021 21:15

@bubblepond I’ve had HG and am on medication from the doctor. Narrowly avoided being admitted to hospital for IV a fluids. I am currently 12weeks exactly, and I think my sickness is starting to ease a bit. This is the first day in over 7 weeks that I haven’t vomited. Up to this point, it’s been at least 5 or 6 times a day. Hoping this is the start of feeling better...

Bluebell88 · 16/09/2021 21:28

@Hayesdays thank you! That’s all very reassuring, I just can’t wait to feel movements so a little disappointed I might have to wait longer. Not sure exactly where it is placed.

@bubblepond my sickness has definitely got worse in the last week, I was really sick Thursday & Friday last week and then started to feel better and thought I’d turned a corner, only to be very sick again after dinner last night. Hopefully just a one off!

@Nats7504 I don’t think the placenta can move, I think (well google tells me) it’s position is based on where the egg implants. Your paperwork might tell you your placenta placement as it’s on mine.

Scoaf · 17/09/2021 08:23

@Dyra thanks for in info....
Oh yay more waiting 🤣 doesnt help i have no patience at all 🙈

Scoaf · 17/09/2021 08:25

@Nats7504
Aww try not to worry. I know easier said than done. Its just all the waiting isnt it. Got everything crossed for good results for you.
Im starting to feel more nervous the closer my scan gets. 🤦‍♀️ x

bubblepond · 17/09/2021 08:30

@Nats7504 @Derbee I'm sorry you've both had a rubbish time with HG! Glad it is getting better for you both.. I really hope it continues!

@Bluebell88 I'm sorry yours has got worse too! I also thought a couple of weeks ago that mine was getting better but I've vomited more in the past week than I have in several weeks. Hope your episode a couple of nights ago was just a one off!

Pleasedontworry · 17/09/2021 08:34

@Bluebell88 @Nats7504 - the scan is mind blowing isn’t it, or at least it was for me! My baby wouldn’t stay still at all, so I got a really long session trying to get the measurements - they did eventually get a few NT measurements at 1.1, and I’ve also read that under 3.5 is considered normal. I was told that it would be around 2 weeks and a letter if low risk but I’d get a call from the midwife before that if anything was high risk, so sounds like a similar message to others.

Nervyy · 17/09/2021 09:29

Hi all, has anyone got the link for the Facebook group and/or WhatsApp group??
Feeling a little more comfortable joining now!x

Derbee · 17/09/2021 11:21

Reading the whole thread from the beginning. Trying to distract myself from my nerves. We have our 12 week scan in 2.5 hours. Eeeeek

bubblybrit · 17/09/2021 12:46

Just got my results back from our NIPT. Baby is low probability (less than 1 in 10000) for Down Syndrome, Edwards and Patau. So so delighted! Got my nhs dating scan on Wednesday so looking forward to seeing baby again.

So pleased to see some scans have taken place and everything is looking good x

bubblepond · 17/09/2021 13:08

Ah brilliant @bubblybrit !!

The GP has prescribed me some cyclizine this morning so hoping that does the trick. I've had 3 days off work this week and feeling so guilty!

Derbee · 17/09/2021 13:12

@bubblepond I found that I needed a couple of days for the cyclizine to start working really well. It’s almost like you need to build up a bit of cyclizine in your body.

So don’t be disheartened if the improvement isn’t immediate. I also ignored the GP, and took the maximum dose of 3 x per day

Thank you! Will definitely give it a few days :)

Good luck for your scan! Keeping my fingers crossed everything goes well for you 🤞🏼

bubblybrit · 17/09/2021 13:15

Thank you @bubblepond. I was also prescribed cyclizine in the early stages...it look about 2-3 days to kick in and even then it only took the edge off for me. I also took the max dose of 3 x per day. Hope you feel better soon xx

Ania89 · 17/09/2021 13:29

Ladies, have you now told the world about your pregancies ? I am 11+2 today and my scan is not until 28th September. I have this irrational fear that if I tell people, something will go wrong. This anxiety is absolutely killing me.. also, yesterday I lost temper at my poor dog and am feeling so guilty about it. I had a scan at 10 weeks and everything was perfect the but I seem to be unable to shake off this awful anxiety…

Ah the worry is horrible isn't it @Ania89 ! I'm sorry you're feeling this way Thanks I found that https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart this website was really reassuring in terms of convincing me that I'm much less likely to have a miscarriage than have one. It's also super reassuring that you had a good scan at 10 weeks!

We told both our families, as well as 2 couples who are our close friends as we would likely tell them anyway even if things went wrong. I've also had to tell my supervisors at work and it's come out to other colleagues too when I've been feeling rubbish. You definitely won't cause anything bad to happen by telling people, in fact I found that I felt better especially telling another friend who is currently pregnant who reassured me she felt the same!

Hope you start to feel better soon Smile

Dyra · 17/09/2021 14:44

I love that website @bubblepond. Definitely helps to see the stats and how low they are now.

Definitely feels like the world knows I'm pregnant now. I was outted at work and by my family much sooner than I would have liked. At least we got to surprise my in-laws. I figured since it's out, I may as well tell people.

Derbee · 17/09/2021 15:14

Thanks for the good luck wishes @bubblepond! Everything went very well at the scan - sonographer said everything looks perfect. So relieved, as I’ve been totally panicking. They’ve changed me from 12w1d to 12w6d, so due date has changed to 26th March 2022.
