I have 2 prams from DS one with the car seat attached and one thats a flat carry cot style. I decided I'd sell both of them and just get the one travel system to ease up space this time round. After the childcare cost reality check the other day I decided I'd get a 2nd hand travel system and just buy a new car seat part of it so I knew that was safe. Was having a nosey at prices on marketplace to mentally plan ahead my budgeting for later and £200 seemed to be the average going for a lot I liked. Then I came across one in excellent condition going for quick sale at £50, the price was too great in comparison to just leave so I got it as the chances of getting a bargain like that in a few months time are slim. Now I'm freaking out about jinxing things by buying a pram at only 14 weeks and literally woke up in the middle of the night sobbing that it'll be my fault if we don't bring this baby home because I bought a pram too early 🙈 (I know its completely irrational but we all know you don't get to choose how the hormones and anxiety land!)

DKDK123 · 28/11/2021 04:53

@Lexber enjoy the gender reveal today, my guess is 💙💙

lucyrp · 28/11/2021 05:09

@DKDK123 I bought a pram at like 16 weeks too. Similar thing I had a couple of prams for DS but decided I wanted a new one for this baby and spent £150 on facebook marketplace for something that is £1600 new ! Has it steam cleaned and serviced for £100 and it's basically brand new!

Just woken for the first time in the night ... Dd has just slept 9 and. Half hours 😳😳

bez91 · 28/11/2021 06:31

@Kate105 argggh, sending matchsticks for your eyes 😭 hope you're all soundly asleep!

@DKDK123 you've not jinxed anything. A bargain is a bargain! Look at it as spending £50 not buying a pram, I'm sure you can hide it away somewhere 😊 we're reusing DDs travel system so just going to pay for it to be properly cleaned. I'm feeling that anxiety today, scan day and feeling movement so don't know why 🤦🏼‍♀️ DD is being too sweet. Constantly taking to my belly "morning baby, hope you're ok in there, I'm doing X,Y,Z today so I'll talk to you later" and constants "I love you baby" 😭

@lucyrp wow what a good stint of sleep 🥳 long may it continue!

Lexber · 28/11/2021 06:50

Oh @DKDK123 I completely understand how you feel - we have gone 2nd hand due to the cost as the twin travel system I was looking at fir everything was over £2k and I refuse to pay that, we saw an absolute bargain at £500 and OH collected it last weekend (15+3) and I had the same worries that it was too early esp with 2... what if ...

I pushed the thoughts out my head and looked on the positive side, that we are carrying beautiful happy babies and everything WILL be ok, and buying a pram slightly earlier than planned WILL NOT cause that to change! Xxxx

Lexber · 28/11/2021 06:55

@bez91 your DD is the sweetest!!!!
I felt anxious yesterday even though I had an unexpected scan at the hospital Thursday- spotting again turns out I have an infection so on antibiotics
I'm feeling movement from both now but still seem to hold my breath before a scan until I see them moving or they tell me there's 2 heartbeats!

Wide awake!! I think it may be the excitement of today...

How did the night go @Kate105 ?
That's fantastic @lucyrp

So that's 2 💙💙 guesses from @bez91 and @DKDK123 anymore guesses?

Enjoy the scan today @bez91 ❤️💛

feliznavidad2 · 28/11/2021 07:21

I think 💖💙 @Lexber - have a lovely day today at your gender reveal

@bez91 enjoy your scan lovely x

lucyrp · 28/11/2021 07:29

@bez91 I know! I'm shocked! She has done anywhere between 5-8 hours for a few nights in a row now but 9 and a half! Don't be fooled though she wakes every hour or every couple some nights 😅 I highly recommend the pram parlour for having DD travel system cleaned, I paid £100 which included them sending the boxes to me, i then had the weekend to package it up which was the frame, the stroller seat, the carrycot and the cosy toes and seat liner and they then collected it (via DPD) on the Monday and it was delivered back to me the following Monday. All for £100ish (110?) I thought that was a bargain!

@Lexber I'm going to guess 💗💗! I have an inkling of one of each but going to go wild and say two girls!

DKDK123 · 28/11/2021 08:55

Thanks ladies, it just felt waaaaay too soon for a big 'real' item like a pram but glad to see I'm not the only one. I'd have been stupid to walk away from it at that price.

I've never heard of the pram parlour @lucyrp, going to look it up. And wow on the sleep front, let's hope it's a sign of things to come!

@bez91, I wonder if the anxiety ever goes away or if we just need to wait it out till we finally have them in our arms 🤔 Giving a hand hold for your scan today, even tho you know it'll be fine I know you won't breathe until you see it is. Your DD is going to make an amazing big sister ❤

@lexber you have double the worry with 2 in there. I'm the same I don't dare breathe in scans until they say there's the heartbeat. Funnily tho with DS it was a high risk very complicated pregnancy that was touch and go throughout and the doctors and all my friends and family were constantly worried and I was cool as a cucumber completely unphased by it all telling them all not to be silly everything was going to be fine. Have zero reason to believe anythings other other fine at the moment with this one and I'm a nervous wreck, take me back to my days of child 1 where ignorance was bliss 😂
So excited for your gender reveal today, have an amazing time sharing your news with your loved ones 💕

Kate105 · 28/11/2021 08:57

Omg I'm so jealous @lucyrp we had a wild night... up at 11:30 for a full costume change thanks to nappy leak, then saw every hour from 3am. Definitely partly wind related so back to the gripe water we go...! Managed to sneak in an extra hour at 6am by letting him sleep on me... needs must!

lucyrp · 28/11/2021 09:18

@DKDK123 this is the link to their Facebook page
www.facebook.com/buggycleaners/

We've had more nights of good sleep than rubbish at the moment but I know ir can change at any point and that's fine 🙈

@Kate105 oh goodness I feel for you 😨 we have to use infacol at every feed or we have the same problem. DD did from 7.30pm - 5.30am and then went back to sleep from 5.40am- 9.10am 😳😳 she was incredibly grumpy all day yesterday and a devil child though so possibly why. Hopefully a better day today agyer the sleep 😅 and fingers crossed for a better night for you tonight too?

Minster2012 · 28/11/2021 09:31

My guess girl boy for @Lexber 💙💜

@DKDK123 you can't jinx it by buying a pram, but we all know the worry, like @Lexber says buying a pram will not change that

@Kate105 how was the little darling?? Did @lucyrp's good luck rub off on him??

@bez91 That is so sweet literally making me blub!! Nope you don't have to wait long today

bez91 · 28/11/2021 10:03

I haven't guessed yet @Lexber 😆 I'll say 💙💖

@lucyrp I know they always lead you into a false sense of security 🙈 I've seen that Pram parlour before. We have a couple locally that I've found which are around the same price 😊 it's actually not too bad and stored in cellophane but have been stored for some time. I'm hoping they can sort some gauges in the chassis too.

@DKDK123 I think you're right it never truly goes away. Don't get me wrong I feel a lot better than I have done but definitely have wobbles as I'm sure you do!

@Minster2012 she is a bit of a charmer, her dad (DH) used to be like that 😂 it's at 2pm so a bit to wait but out of town so hopefully my dad will come over earlier so we can go and get a bite to eat too 😬

Minster2012 · 28/11/2021 11:52

Awww that sounds like a lovely day of you can get food too @bez91

I've just opened my post from yesterday & got my anomaly scan through for 3rd jan. Consultant appointment day after too, I had an anesthetics call whilst at CP it's all going on!! Crazy how that doesn't feel that long away but it's 5 weeks! Having Christmas in between really helps think of the time differently

Haiyaa · 28/11/2021 12:53

I’m going to guess ❤️ 💙 @Lexber, hope you have a fab day and it’s not too stormy where you are.

@bez91 and @DKDK123 no sadly the anxiety doesn’t completely go away (at least it hasn’t for me) but it does get better, especially when you get the reassurance of regular movements and past milestones like the 20 week scan. I will certainly be much happier when baby is earth side!

That will fly by @Minster2012, especially with Christmas. I’ve been counting up my weeks at work and with all my annual leave I only have 5 weeks left to work, which is both exciting and terrifying!

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 13:04

I'm struggling with staying awake! 🙈
I find the pram chat interesting. Clearly it's far too early for me to think about that but at some point I'm going to need tips on that and car seats. I literally am clueless. I plan on 2nd hand too. So I'd feel the same @DKDK123 about buying early but then if you see a bargain, you really have to?
@Lexber hmmm. My guess is 💙❤ but I'm crap at such things!

bez91 · 28/11/2021 17:34

Scan all went well 😊 wriggly baby and measuring slightly ahead. I'm still in shock about this whole pregnancy tbh, I just keep saying to DH I can't believe we have a baby that's alive.
The sonography looked at us like we had 2 heads when we said we didn't want to know the gender 🤷‍♀️ managed an hour with DH so did a bit of child free Christmas shopping which was nice.

@Minster2012 I keep thinking that, Christmas is definitely helping with the timing. My 20 week scan is 30th December so very close to yours!

@Haiyaa definitely I'm the same, just happy of progress. 5 weeks left to work, wow that'll fly by. what is your due date?

@paintfairy get all the sleep you can. It really does take it out of you in those first few weeks

bez91 · 28/11/2021 17:34

Meant to post a little photo 😊

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 17:42

@bez91 awww! It looks like a real baby and everything! ❤ I know what you mean, I'm not sure when it ever feels real?
And I fell asleep again this afternoon. Struggling to exist right now. 🤣

Minster2012 · 28/11/2021 18:17

5 weeks left @Haiyaa that's crazy! Crazy good! So what's your DD?

We've never had a new pram @paintfairy and our car seat is the best thing ever so happy to put my two pence in when the time comes!

@bez91 that's such a beautiful picture ❤️🥰

DKDK123 · 29/11/2021 04:27

Glad to hear all was well @bez91, what a lovely clear photo.

@Minster2012 I got my scan date through too, 20th Jan.......at 7pm! Don't they know I'm usually in bed by that time 😂 I didnt even realise the NHS scanned that late, they must have a backlog of people to get through.

I've got my hospital appointment today to discuss the DS results, consultant appointment next week to discuss how baby's getting out, gender scan the week after it all feels like it's went slow now its racing ahead 🙈

@Lexber I've not got Instagram, what were the results of your reveal? Tho did you happen to post a video on a Nubs group on FB? Just because I watched a twin reveal on that last night with 2 older girls popping the balloons and instantly I thought, I wonder if that's @lexber 🤔 I commented under your video if it was 😊

Lexber · 29/11/2021 08:27

Yes @DKDK123 that was me!!!!!

Lexber · 29/11/2021 08:34

We are so happy and so are the girls we are having 💙💖

My youngest (ASD) was desperate for a little sister so I cleverly gave her the pink balloon and he little face, the pop made her jump then she looked at the confetti and took a moment to process it before realising it was pink then actually squealed and jumped for joy ❤️❤️ I had to hold back tears it was amazing to see her so happy.
My eldest wanted a brother but over the 24hrs had convinced herself it was 2 girls as she asked me over and over and I accidentally smirked at 2 girls so she was convinced and the more she said it the more I laughed so I let her think that more so for the shock! Plus the fact the first was pink too intentionally 🤣 she's very relaxed but I've watched the video so many times and the little smile on her face after the blue comes out makes me smile so much!

Everyone was so pleased for us it was wonderful.

OH is so over the moon he is having a boy and girl and I now know the boy is the lower baby and the girl is the higher baby.

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 08:37

@Lexber one of each is the best outcome really! Everyone is happy all round. And at least you won't ever be confused which one is which or who's clothes are who's. 🤣

Lexber · 29/11/2021 08:46

@paintfairy 🤣🤣 very true!!

In all honesty we really didn't mind at all the sexes as long as they are happy and healthy. But we are so pleased that it's one of each. Especially as. The girls were in different teams.. it has definitely made that easier!

It will definitely save me painting ones toes when we bring them home 🤣🤣
