@feliznavidad2 nuggets are well known for their anti emetic qualities aren't they?!

😆 at the big flowery knickers I think we can do better than that!! I mainly wear french knicker type like @2020mission I think 😂

@paintfairy I'm actually a heartless bitch 😂

Kate105 · 24/11/2021 14:12

@becarefuloutthere I wear a S and I’m a 10-12 if that’s any help!

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 14:15

@Minster2012 🤣 It came on again earlier and I had to not watch.

I've self referred to the midwife team today. She took my info and then said I'll get a letter. I thought I'd better, with Christmas being in the middle and 12 weeks being 10th Jan. But I feel like a fraud somehow, telling them this early? 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to order some pants but I'm definitely not a 'S'. 🤭

Minster2012 · 24/11/2021 17:59

@paintfairy 😂I thought you were tougher than that 😂why a fraud?? I've read threads before where ppl self refer before they are due, definitely straight away. It's in there & today you are pregnant so embrace it (she said knowing full well it's not that simple in our minds!)

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 18:35

@Minster2012 I am usually? 🤷‍♀️🤣
I don't know. It doesn't feel real? I keep forgetting. Then remember, and I'm like- are you sure? And it could go wrong so it might not be real for long. It just seems bad luck planning anything, but I agree you need to get in the system or nothing will happen! We all know what the nhs are like. 🙄 I did have more success getting hold of them though than the bloody GP (arm related). Can't be arsed to sit in a phone queue system for hours on end! 🤬

bez91 · 24/11/2021 22:30

@feliznavidad2 snap on the McDs that was me this morning about 11:15. I'm struggling with sickness at the moment and I feel nauseous all the time apart from when I'm eating 🤦🏼‍♀️

@2020mission ahh flowery pants, swear my nan has those exact pairs 😂

@paintfairy you're not a fraud but I get your nervousness, if you don't say it out loud/discuss it with anyone it's like you can stick your head in the sand about it happening right!?

@Minster2012 what was the conclusion on Sudafed? Is it a big no no? I've got an awful head cold which will likely develop into sinusitis like it usually does so trying to wear it off. You feeling any better?

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 22:34

@bez91 maybe that's it? Both DH and I are just in disbelief and no one else knows. Si it's not real. 🤣 La la la.
The sickness sounds shit. When does this start?

Minster2012 · 25/11/2021 08:57

Of course it could go wrong @paintfairy we all live by that fear but it's real...though it kinda does feel more real if you say it out loud to someone. If you are lucky like me then you may avoid the sickness

@bez91 still not feeling better but actually slept some last night. We concluded Sudafed spray ok in moderation (& literally I couldn't breathe without it) and paracetamol. I've also got vapourub but it's not doing much

DKDK123 · 25/11/2021 12:15

Not gonna lie, @2020missions version of big pants IS my style of big pants that I got post c section and continue to buy today 😂 not the flowery style, mine are plain colour but 100% the massive Bridget Jones style not the series version the others posted. Comfort over style all the way 😂

@paintfairy I know its scary admitting it's real but glad you got yourself on the system.

@Minster2012 hope you're feeling a bit better, I seem to have had a permanent cold since getting pregnant that it just feels like a normal way of life now. The whole 'glowing pregnancy' thing is 100% a lie it's not glamorous in the slightest 😂

Kate105 · 25/11/2021 13:18

The pregnancy glow is FAKE NEWS 😂

Genuinely felt better post C section than when I was 9 months pregnant!

becarefuloutthere · 25/11/2021 13:30

@Kate105 jeez my size is sold out already! And the XL. Snooze you lose I guess!

becarefuloutthere · 25/11/2021 14:48

@Lexber I've ordered some next ones now! They didn't have my size again so gone for a few different pairs and collecting on sat. What a Saturday treat 😂

Lexber · 25/11/2021 19:07

@bez91 I've been similar with nausea, I feel like I'm constantly eating as if I don't I feel sick 🤦🏽‍♀️ then the heart burn starts 🤣

Ladies, after weeks of crap sleep with various pillows and cushions OH brought home a pregnancy pillow Monday and holy shit it's amazing!!! I've had THE BEST sleep, I'm genuinely excited to go to bed...

@Minster2012 ive had a bit of cold and made me snore more so I got some nose strips and weirdly they open my nose even when bunged up and I can breathe better! May be worth a try?

@DKDK123 i be agree, the glow is a myth men made up to convince us we would look good pregnant 🤣🤣
@becarefuloutthere I usually have 16 to cover my bum but they're rolling under my bump so might buy some bigger 🤣

Had my 16 week MW call today and as I've been spotting (not a lot but slightly every day Friday-yesterday) the MW wanted me to call the women's unit where I was last week to see if they wanted to see me so I ended up back at the hospital this afternoon for another scan. Both babies are good and have moved places again.. i caught sight of myself in the mirror in the lift and holy cow I look massive! No wonder I feel 30 weeks pregnant- I bloody look it 🤣🤣🤣

paintfairy · 25/11/2021 19:13

@Lexber holy shit! You are going to pop by the time you are 30 weeks. 🤣 Wow. I suppose just be thankful there aren't 3 in there? 🤣 Great news they are doing ok though.
@Minster2012 not being able to take stuff for colds is shit. I was really ill whilst doing stims. I'm not sure if you are meant to but I ended up using vicks micromist. I just couldn't breathe, and clearly paracetamol was not helping that!

Lexber · 25/11/2021 19:30

@paintfairy I look like I ate a football then went back for the whole team 🤣🤣

No wonder people look shocked when I say 16 weeks until I add twins 🤣🤣 I will Be rolling after Xmas 🤣🤣🤣
I was this big full term with my youngest... 🤦🏽‍♀️

feliznavidad2 · 25/11/2021 20:06

Looking lovely @Lexber ! Glad all was ok.

How are you feeling @paintfairy ? I've taken the bull by the horns and rang GP for stronger stool softeners today as I can't carry on straining like I am. Blush

Feeling a bit nervous for my scan tomorrow, should be 7+5 🤞🏻 hope it's all ok. Watching Mary Berry as OH is playing a computer game. Hmm

whatwonder · 26/11/2021 10:37

as always, loads to catch up on!

welcome and congrats @paintfairy ! :)

Turns out I've been wearing big pants for ages as well if that's what we're calling big Confused has anyone tried period pants for after pregnancy? thoughts?

@Lexber what pregnancy pillow did you get? I'm willing to give anything a go if it means I have a full nights' sleep!

@feliznavidad2 best of luck today, sending lots of positive vibes your way!!

I've got my first proper NHS scan today (12 week dating scan plus screening tests). Thought I was feeling okay about it but now I'm starting to get really anxious, mostly about the screening. How long did it take to get results from it? Can they give you a rough idea just by looking at the nuchal translucency or do you need to wait for the results from the bloods?

Minster2012 · 26/11/2021 11:16

@whatwonder I got told the measurement was "in the normal range" at the scan, my scan was 2 weeks ago yesterday & ive not heard back yet (they said they'd phone in 7/10 days if higher risk to chat) if not then a letter through the post in 3/4 weeks so they can give you a rough idea, great to have a scan though, when is it?

@feliznavidad2 ❤️❤️❤️

Minster2012 · 26/11/2021 11:18

Micromist @paintfairy thank you I shall look that up

@Lexber bloody hell you look bloomin lovely!!

Sorry catching up in snippets in the pool at CP last morning & distracted by an amazing OG BFP on main thread ladies!!

DKDK123 · 26/11/2021 11:46

@lexber glad to hear both babies are doing well 🥰

@whatwonder enjoy your scan today. They'll take a measurement from behind the babies neck on the scan and this combined with results from your blood test will give them an indicator on whether your high or low risk. I was told if all was fine I'd hear back in about 2 weeks, sooner if it wasn't. Had my scan on Friday and had a letter by the following Thurs to say it was high risk with an appointment scheduled on Monday. So they must have posted the letter on Tues afternoon/Wed morn so only a few days from the scan and bloods being taken.

Thinking ahead of myself here since baby isn't even born yet let alone me being on mat leave, but started to price up childcare for when I go back to work nursery + before and after school care for DS just to see how much more of a mortgage we could stretch to to start looking at bigger houses. .......Yea I won't be moving to a bigger house any time soon, at least not until #2 starts to get their funded nursery hours at 3 🙈 it's fine, we can work with cramped we'll call it compact and close together 😂

paintfairy · 26/11/2021 12:03

@feliznavidad2 I'm doing better i think. I'm taking 1 fybogel a day (I've got the tablet version) and it's keeping the edge off. Maybe i need 2..... But I feel less pregnant now. 🤣 I was so bloated and in pain before.
@whatwonder I hope your scan goes well.
@DKDK123 I'm honestly not sure how we'll afford childcare full stop! Do you use nursery? I am just dreading to think.

I've ordered some next pants. And finally some Christmas presents. My rhr jumped back up one. Its a good day. 🤣 Apart from - in the day I can never get bloody warm! Permanently freezing until about 9pm. 🙄

DKDK123 · 26/11/2021 13:18

@paintfairy yea DS goes to nursery 3 days a week while I'm at work. The plus side is he'll have started school when the next one starts nursery so it'll only be 3 days nursery and 3 days before & after school care each week to pay for rather than 2 sets of nursery fees, still eye watering tho. I knew it would be, we had planned to hold off moving house till #2 started to get free nursery hours but with the possibility of #2 having DS I was looking at more suitable houses just incase. But we'll just need to make do with the one we're in and tighten our belts, it's not the end of the world. You find a way to make things work one way or another.

whatwonder · 26/11/2021 17:06

scan went well! baby is measuring well, they said the nuchal measurement is in normal range, but I need to wait to have that combined with the blood tests (which I should expect via a letter within the next two weeks) to be sure.

Have to say, the woman doing the scan was not pleasant. She had terrible bedside manner (seemed annoyed and huffy when I asked any questions) and I only got to see the screen for about 12 seconds before she turned it back. I asked if I could have another look after she had finished doing all the measurements and was quite plainly told no. yeeeesh! Lady at reception was also in a foul mood so maybe it had just been a long week.

2020mission · 26/11/2021 17:40

@Minster2012 I'm really chuffed to have seen an OG BFP today too! Hopefully she will be posting here soon.

Glad your scan went well @whatwonder! There is some miserable people around isn't there, try to forget them 😅 I guess everyone has a bad day at work.

I had my 35 week community midwife appointment yesterday... turned up on time for 9.20 to be told it had been cancelled! Nobody told me. Thankfully they squeezed me in but I had a 40 min wait (and that was with work to get back to!) I questioned it a bit as my last appointment was at 32 weeks and that was when I was told I had polyhydramnios. Surely it's not normal to leave someone on their first pregnancy for 5 weeks unseen in the third trimester and when just having been classed as higher risk? She seemed to think it was acceptable. I measured fine with the tape this time and she could feel baby easily, head down and heart rate fine. I'm really hoping my appointment next week shows the fluid has gone back down 🤞

Has anyone got disposable knickers in prep for labour/afterwards? All the chat of pants and I forgot to mention I got a pack of 5 disposables.

paintfairy · 26/11/2021 17:46

@DKDK123 I honestly have no idea what we'll do. I'm also partly aware- aren't you meant to apply early for everything? So its not even like you can see how it pans out? I'm hoping my mum will help out some days as we really can't afford full time. But her health isn't the best (my step dad is fine) so I'm not so sure, until it happens. I've not even told her yet.
@whatwonder I'm glad everything is OK, but god, what a crap experience. These people shouldn't have jobs! Not if they see no joy in it. I hope no one buys her a Christmas present.....
@2020mission no one gives a sh*t mostly. But I would say that's not acceptable? And what an arse them cancelling it!

Omg disposable knickers? What?! 🙈 Dare I ask?
