Thank you ladies, we are all just besotted with her.

@Kate105 I thought you might like our name choice 🤣

Pretty much plain sailing other than the lower segment of my uterus having some significant thinning which would have ruptured had I started having contractions or got bigger. The lovely surgeon has done a repair that would allow me to carry one more baby but only under very close monitoring (as if they don't do that with me anyway) and only as far as 36 weeks at most.

After all the steroid worries she didn't require any extra help and had no problems breathing on her own. One glucose reading from her that was borderline for being a little low, the rest were all perfect and she no longer needs any more glucose tests 🙌🏻

Katie has been an absolute dream but the postnatal ward has been tortuous hell.... if anyone can suggest how to sleep with one baby that has screamed since midnight until now, two women in the early stages of induction who are being observed hourly by some really noisy midwives on top of my own newborn that'd be much appreciated!!

I've now been awake for over 24 hours and it's beginning to catch up with me 🙈

Oh and I meant to share more baby spam with you

@Gem176 oh she's just so scrumptious!! Will you get to move or go home soon?
@Justanothercyster ah hope work goes ok! X

Thinkingandblinking · 01/09/2021 09:51

Congrats @Gem176 she is scrummy! My advise is get the hell out of there as soon as pos! Sleep on a post labour / induction ward is near on impossible, could ask to get moved to window bay if one comes up, that way more tucked away! Xx

Haiyaa · 01/09/2021 11:33

Congratulations @Gem176, another little beauty for the thread! I completely agree r.e. Postnatal wards, I had to stay in for 2 nights with DD and I was begging to leave so I didn’t have to stay for a third! Headphones, snacks, eye mask are about all I can recommend. Private rooms are few and far between at my hospital so mentally preparing myself for the next visit although I’m hoping Covid will have them kicking me out sooner! Hope you get to go home soon!

Kate105 · 01/09/2021 20:35

Also back to work today @Justanothercyster ... Yuck! Although only 9 days until may leave so should probably just suck it up 😂😂😂

Good news here, had my next midwife appointment and baby is back to average size! No more giant baby! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 soooooo relieved 😂

DJmum83 · 01/09/2021 20:58

Hi all massive congratulations @Gem176 she is gorgeous.

So COVID has hit our home our wee girl took not well very quickly last night and has tested positive on 2 lateral flows today the rest of us are negative so far.
We have been for PCR tests today so waiting for them results.
Absolutely crapping it that I will get it. Just hope baby is ok.

Hope all is ok with everyone xx

Justanothercyster · 01/09/2021 21:06

@DJmum83 oh bless :( hope it isn't too bad for you. Make sure you call your MW to let them know when you've got it (by some miracle you won't...) as they'll be able to reassure you and make sure you're both ok x

@Kate105 ah not long! Lucky thing!

Kids back at school…yay! Feels like time to spend with bump and sorting house now!

Growth scan yesterday and baby 3lb at 28weeks…seems so weird as my other two always measured really small….

Kirky658 · 03/09/2021 07:36

@gem176 congrats!!!

Justanothercyster · 03/09/2021 17:52

I'm actually broken 🥴 first week at work and I'm in so much pain, feet, bump, hips, shoulders. And of course we're already rife with covid in our school after 3 days...

Currently baking 3 cakes for dh's surprise 30th bday party tomorrow and I'm so doneeeeeee 😴

Aww @Justanothercyster I forget how lucky I am still getting to work from home. Hopefully next week will be easier for you and good job baking after working through that all week! I'm sure he will appreciate all the effort.

I'm not looking forward to the swelling, when did that kick in for you? I'm only just passing 23 weeks so imagine it's yet to come for me. I'm so relieved to almost have reached viability week next week. Even though it's still months to go until my due date, it feels like a celebration 😆

Kate105 · 03/09/2021 20:30

I did the first two days @Justanothercyster and completely broken by them! Very glad to be mostly WFH for the next week! Have you got long to go?

Justanothercyster · 03/09/2021 21:39

@2020mission it definitely is a celebration!
And the swelling seemed to hit me super early, around 20 weeks 😖

@Kate105 I'm not actually teaching due to risk which is amazing but I'm still shattered haha! I'm going to try and make it to half term

@Gem176 she's absolutely adorable 💗 congratulations! I remember those wards with my DS as I had to be in for 48hours for obs with GBS.

@DJmum83 hope you've managed to avoid it and your DD isn't too poorly?

Had our 20 week scan yesterday and our little girl is definitely a girl (OH made the sonographer double check in hope the gender scan was wrong 🤣). It was my first scan I haven't cried on at last but felt so anxious going through all the checks. Everything was perfect though and we saw her opening and closing her mouth and rubbing her belly (I said she enjoyed our McDonald's sausage muffin 🙈). Her measurements were all between the average and lower centile so hoping she'll be a nice little baby to push out 😂😂 We decided on her name too although I won't say but it means "miracle" which to us after everything is perfect 💗 I need to stop shopping too! After finding out she's a girl nesting has hit in full swing 😱 Why are girl clothes sooo cute...!

DJmum83 · 04/09/2021 13:16

Hi all

That's me positive. My little girl is on the mend, I'm feeling a bit rough.
My hubby and 2 other children are to get another test on Monday highly likely they will be positive,
Keep my eye on my movements of baby and if my chest gets bad Iv to go in.

Hope everybody else is ok xx

2020mission · 04/09/2021 15:38

Lovely @Crazydoglady123 💕 have you got a boy name you had planned that you could share with me... I'm still struggling with picking a name 😅 we had 2 girl name ideas. I don't know if it's just me but there seems to be less nice boy names. I'm really keen to not pick a name from the top names lists but also don't want something too obscure. My husband has said no to any I suggest with responses like "oh that's the name of my sisters ex", "no I knew a guy with that name at school, he was awful" etc 😂

@DJmum83 ah gutted to hear you've caught it but honestly don't panic just take it easy and hopefully it will pass and you won't be feeling too bad. Loads of pregnant ladies have had it and been fine.

Crazydoglady123 · 04/09/2021 16:48

@DJmum83 try not to worry. There's lots of threads on here for pregnant women who've got it and are fine. Hope you feel better soon though.

@2020mission we struggled for boys names too! I liked Hudson and Hunter though. I'm praying no one names their baby our girls name before ours but tbf I don't think we know anyone we're close with who are expecting before us

DJmum83 · 04/09/2021 20:12

Thanks all.
Feeling ok so far.

I had loads of boys names. I loved Harris, Roman and Luca.

We were totally decided on Remi Ann for this wee girl but now I really like Farryn but can't make up my mind.
What do you all think?

Remi or Farryn.

Xx

Crazydoglady123 · 04/09/2021 20:50

@DJmum83 I love Farryn!

DJmum83 · 04/09/2021 21:44

@Crazydoglady123 so do I. I have 3 blankets with Remi on though. Aagggghhh
Can't make up my mind.

Xx
