@Justanothercyster oh jeez I didn't realise it involved hours of waiting between too. Although I feel I've already done similar with the 1 hour 45 minute wait I had between my 12 week scan and the midwife appointment with the bloods. That wasn't a fun time in the waiting room! Husband had to wait outside too so I was staring at a wall. Hopefully it's not diabetes but good to find out and manage it if it is anyway.

Justanothercyster · 10/09/2021 19:01

@2020mission I remember you saying! How frustrating! I'll deffo be taking snacks with me for after

URGH. OH threatening to sleep in the spare room because me getting up in the night means he's getting broken sleep. WHAT ABOUT MY BROKEN SLEEP?! Up since 5 this morning for absolutely no reason 😫

2020mission · 11/09/2021 17:49

@Kate105 men 🙄 I'm up twice a night but my husband usually gets up for a pee anyway after me when I'm up so he doesn't seem bothered. I do find it hard to get back to sleep after getting up but not bad enough to get up as early as 5... yet!

I have a question for you all... when should you expect any changes to the breasts in pregnancy? I'm over 24 weeks now and have noticed I still haven't got the tiniest bit bigger in them, they aren't sore or sensitive in any way and they look the exact same as before. Starting to worry I'm not going to be able to breast feed as nothing is changing. Also cause I know my gran (dads mum) didn't manage to breast feed.

Kate105 · 12/09/2021 08:20

I think it completely depends @2020mission mine grew quickly in the first trimester and haven't grown since. Nearly 38 weeks now and no change from 12 weeks! Even went back to underwired bras because nothing was happening and I was sick of those fugly comfy bras you're expected to wear... Nothing seems to have come of the final weeks growth spurt you're supposed to expect, but I'm definitely getting colostrum coming in now so must be fine! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Kirky658 · 12/09/2021 09:58

@kate105 ohhhh tell him to wait for when the baby arrives 😂
@2020mission mine also grew in the first trimester, then didn't really change, and when my milk came in they got huuuuuuge

Justanothercyster · 12/09/2021 10:06

@Kate105 men! Mine has to wear ear plugs now because for the first time in my life I've started snoring 🙈

@2020mission I'm the same, they grew a cup size in the first trimester and no change since. I also worried but when I squeeze them I got stuff coming out so I'm sure the body knows what to do when it comes o that x

OP posts:
Kate105 · 12/09/2021 10:39

Ohhhhhh yes to the snoring @Justanothercyster I actually woke myself up the other night 😳

I managed to express 5ml of colostrum this morning and I'm so ridiculously proud but feel weird about telling people so will share here instead 😂🙈 I don't even know why I did it, just to see if I could really... Not entirely sure what to do with it now! Haven't been asked to do it by the midwife or anything so probably a pointless exercise!

Justanothercyster · 12/09/2021 12:48

@Kate105 haha I'm glad it's not just me!
And well done 👏🏼 I think you can freeze it?

OP posts:
2020mission · 12/09/2021 15:02

Haha love that you are both squeezing out already. How hard a squeeze does it need? I might try that near the end of the pregnancy too. Thanks for the reassurance, hopefully they will just fill up in the last week or so and it will work ok. I just always heard breasts get bigger in pregnancy and was kind of looking forward to the change but I suppose I should be glad they aren't sore or sensitive and I've not had to buy any new bras either 😅

Kate105 · 12/09/2021 17:29

Not as hard as you'd think @2020mission but then I only thought to try because I'd started to leak a little, so it was obviously on its way regardless! I do feel a bit reassured that it seems to be working from my end!

Thanks I've got it in the freezer now @Justanothercyster ... probs should warn OH before he heads in for ice for his G&T later on... Then again, probably definitely much more entertaining to not warn him so probs won't say a thing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Justanothercyster · 13/09/2021 18:32

@2020mission nah not that hard haha

@Kate105 love that 😂

So... I told my mum I was going in for testing for gestational diabetes tomorrow and guess what she casually dropped into conversation... "oh I had that when I was pregnant with you".

🤯🤯 HELLO! You could have told me earlier on?!?! So pissed off!

OP posts:
2020mission · 13/09/2021 20:41

@Justanothercyster aww yeah you'd think she'd have said incase you ended up with it too! Are you feeling ok? Let us know how you get on tomorrow. Hopefully the time will pass by quickly.

Justanothercyster · 13/09/2021 21:02

@2020mission we have a very unfortunate relationship, but sometimes she's just a knob. I'm ok, baby's busy doing what feels like the Macarena in there haha. Got a killer headache though so watching some MAFS and heading off for an early night soon.
How you doing?

OP posts:
Kate105 · 14/09/2021 08:41

Oh heck @Justanothercyster how useful...! Hope all goes well today.

Kirky658 · 14/09/2021 08:51

@kate105 it's a fab idea to express colostrum, you can freeze it and defrost it ready for when baby arrives 😊 as much as you can get is amazing!

I was ready to murder DH this morning. Alice has had me up every hour from 3am and he was meant to walk the dog as we have to go out for an appt today but he decided to stay in bed instead!!! I know he is back at work but man I'm pissed off 😩

Kate105 · 14/09/2021 15:40

Oh man @Kirky658 I'd be pissed too!

Not a day goes by right now that I wouldn't want to murder OH for some minor misdemeanour, however 😂 I was annoyed with him last night for breathing too near me in bed...

Justanothercyster · 15/09/2021 15:41

I don't have diabetes 🎉 just an unnaturally fast growing giant baby 😂

Kirky658 · 15/09/2021 15:51

@justanothercyster hurrah! 😍❤️

Thinkingandblinking · 15/09/2021 16:19

So pleased for you @Justanothercyster as it really sucks…missing milkshakes and cake and generally eating what I like 😮‍💨😂😂

Kate105 · 15/09/2021 16:56

Yay @Justanothercyster just a giant child instead 😂 hopefully it'll slow down and chill out a bit for you so it evens out!

Justanothercyster · 15/09/2021 17:30

@Thinkingandblinking not gonna lie, my first thought was "shit I'm going to miss cake". It must be so so hard :(

Lexber · 16/09/2021 11:37

Great news @Justanothercyster

Exhausted and nauseous pretty much constantly now and only 5+5, was hoping to wait before telling the kids but getting to the point I'm emotional and snappy and OH has suggested we tell them sooner than planned so they don't just think I'm a cow for no reason 🤣🤣

How the 14yr old dd hasn't guessed I don't know...

2020mission · 16/09/2021 19:59

@Justanothercyster glad all is clear 🙌 although I know you'll still be concerned baby is growing fast. It might have been a short growth spurt and won't keep growing as fast? My husband is diabetic (type 1) so I completely understand how tough it must be for anyone who develops diabetes. I still feel guilt eating sweets in front of him even now.

Sorry if TMI but want to check if anyone has experienced a random bout of diarrhoea during pregnancy? I had stomach cramps followed by that over a couple of hours the other night but I was otherwise feeling fine and the next day my stools were back to normal. Kind of worried I ate something bad when I had a sandwich out that day 😬 scaring myself reading about listeria etc. Someone please reassure me 😅 it's not something I experienced before pregnancy.

Justanothercyster · 16/09/2021 20:36

Thanks ladies. @2020mission I'm not worried tbh as I'd like them out earlier if possible! Induction would be my choice haha.

@Lexber aw it sucks, but you'll get through it as you have before! I'm sure they will be thrilled to know

Anyone else's babies get the hiccups a lot?
