@KiwiDramaQueen I feel the same. I know it’ll be really important for my mental health to get out and try to do things / see people before too long, but with the situation as it is I just think I’m going to be so nervous about baby mixing with people.

We also moved house just before the pandemic and don’t have many local friends, let alone ones with children. I know I’ll want baby to meet other children but just don’t know how to safely facilitate it in this environment.

SouthwestSis · 21/12/2021 19:53

I wish they would just close nightclubs and pubs, and large events like sports (with the appropriate financial support to those businesses) in order to enable stuff that actually matters like NHS services and baby groups to continue!
Honestly I feel like if it was men that were pregnant and gave birth, and relied on these things, then the management of covid would be very different!

Winterfellismyhome · 22/12/2021 13:12

Anyone got a csection date yet. Mines been booked for the 31st of Jan!

@Winterfellismyhome Goodness! How exciting for you!! How are you feeling about it?

Im just petrified that my partner won’t be able to come in for the birth because of covid. Just keeping everything crossed we manage to keep avoiding it!!!!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/12/2021 21:12

Anyone else feeling absolutely shocking? I'm 32wks and feel constantly sick, stomach pains, overtired as I can't sleep and so so knackered all the time.

I had a scan yesterday and the baby is huge compared to my first. My stomach feels like it's about to explode. I cannot wait for this all to be over.

Winterfellismyhome · 23/12/2021 08:09

@0Scapes feeling quite excited about it! Also daunting to think im going to have a baby in 6 weeks and still need to sort childcare for DS Confused

@PissedOffNeighbour22 yes I'm feeling ropey too but am a couple of weeks ahead of you so feel the end is in sight for me now, especially as I have gestational diabetes so baby may well have to come a bit early.
Still feeling grumpy about having to have a low carb Christmas though :(

CucumberCool · 24/12/2021 16:14

I have ablow lying placenta at 33wks...I'm still hoping for a natural birth but read online csection is more likely (if it's in the way of cervix and doesn't move up).

Has anyone got this or had experience with this?

Also Merry Christmas all! I hope the sickness/back pain/ irritability/emotions are bareable for us all! Xmas WinkXmas Grin

I'm the same as you! 32 weeks and I am absolutely done. Want baby here now although I know it's early and obviously not going to happen for the sake of his health.

But the insomnia is excruciating. I can't actually go out and do anything for the pain and exhaustion as it will knock me out for a good few days after.

Today's wonderful saga was going to the midwife appointment to be told he was measuring big and to go get scanned. We had planned to do the appointment (right across the city from us for some reason), go into the city center (would have to get off there to change to a different bus anyway) and have a nice, slow walk around to grab two last minute bits and have a coffee, followed by wrapping presents at home and prepping everything food wise for tomorrow so we can just chuck it on to cook when it needs it.

But no, instead it was a rush around to grab what we needed, get on another bus to the hospital, wait about for the appointment to be told that the baby is measuring fine. Then wait for another bus home, didn't get in til near 3 and I was in so much pain I just sat on the floor and cried.

I'm so done with this pregnancy. I cannot do this for another 6-8 weeks. It's my 3rd baby and the absolute worst Sad

laalaaleelee · 27/12/2021 13:12

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

Is anyone else absolutely sick of your pregnancy being the only topic of conversation when you talk to people? I feel like I'm so bored of people asking the same questions, the same conversations, like can we please talk about something else?

Also sick to death of the "just you wait" lot that seem intent on making it all just seem miserable and awful. I know it's not going to be a picnic in the park but how is that helpful?

Then there are the people that give all the unsolicited advice or the people that feel they need to comment on the bump every time they see it, the ones that touch it without asking even though I've made it clear I don't like that.

I find it all really patronising and it really annoys me.

I've been quite irritable in the run up to Christmas, actually a bit better the last couple of days but this stuff has been really winding me up for some time.

CucumberCool · 27/12/2021 16:58

@laalaaleelee

I had someone undo my cardigan to get to my bump!! No consent asked first, just helped them self!

With certain people it is all that exists now! I find myself saying the same thing over and over until they feel as bored of it as I am!

Winterfellismyhome · 27/12/2021 18:28

@PrettyPlatapus that is so rude!

I read this last week at 30/31 weeks and couldn’t relate, however I am coming up 32 weeks and yes this has all just kicked in. Stomach pains had ramped up a bit earlier in the week, but my worst part is the feeling sick. I was sick last night and feel like I could be again now. I am so tired all the time and I can’t believe how shit I feel all of a sudden.

I hope everyone had a great christmas though! As much as I am whinging now, it wasn’t awful and most of these symptoms have only just kicked in so I am lucky really.

glasspaw · 28/12/2021 09:02

@catinthehat12 ditto! All kicked in as I got to 32 weeks. I feel like all I’m doing is complaining or trying to stop myself from complaining at the moment because I’m so uncomfortable. Sleeping atrociously and just generally feeling very heavy and fed up.

MollyQueenOfSocks · 28/12/2021 12:07

@catinthehat12 @glasspaw

I am there with you. I have felt generally shit the last few weeks to be honest and now at 33 weeks (tomorrow) it's worse.

The only saving grace is that at my appointment a few weeks ago they checked my iron/ferritin and found my ferritin to be low. I'm now on tablets for it and my restless legs have vanished completely allowing me to sleep! That said even with sleep I still feel shite, in pain and exhausted and now get post medication nausea when taking them, even if I eat a full meal before hand.

I am so done with this still. Just want to sleep til baby is here now so I don't have to face all this.

BabyFeb22 · 28/12/2021 15:49

Glad I'm not the only one hating feeling so heavy and tired right now! I know this is probably going to sound stupid but it's like she has doubled in size during the last three days and also getting braxton hicks when I walk for more than 5 minutes.

0Scapes · 28/12/2021 16:42

@BabyFeb22 me too. I think I experienced my first braxton hicks yesterday when we took the dog out. It’s made me scared to take him out now!! We weren’t even going particularly fast or anywhere strenuous (just a small hill) and it’s completely knocked my confidence going anywhere.

I’m getting quite uncomfortable now but I know I’m the grand scheme of things I’m probably doing fine/as expected. There’s also a particular spot on my ribs that she keeps kicking and it’s just so sore!! I keep telling her she can kick elsewhere just to give it a bit of a break but she doesn’t listen 😂.

catinthehat12 · 28/12/2021 17:20

Yep the complaining comes hand in hand with all these symptoms. I still have 4 weeks left at work once I go back next week, but have taken holiday that will shorten my weeks to 4 days. I am leaving at 36/37 weeks which seemed so realistic a few months ago but I am so dreading these last few weeks.

I don’t think I have had braxton hicks yet, I get pain when I walk a lot now but don’t have the usual bump tightening etc., think it’s just round ligament pain.

SouthwestSis · 28/12/2021 18:51

I managed to go swimming today and cannot recommend it enough. It was so nice to take the weight off my legs, pelvis and lower back and it was the first time I felt comfortable in ages.
I managed some slow widths and felt really refreshed afterwards.
Feel like I will sleep better tonight too as I'm not as uncomfortable as I usually am by this time of evening:)

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/12/2021 10:28

@catinthehat12 I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, and whilst I'm feeling pretty crappy now in comparison to how I was feeling a couple weeks ago, working has been fine. Like you I've used holiday to do four day weeks, and it's manageable. The acid reflux/nausea is awful though, and I'm not sleeping really well as a result. I'm working up to 38 weeks, hoping I can hold out for another three

@0Scapes don't be scared, the exercise is good, just make sure you drink lots of water. I'm under consultant and walk 8-10km with my dog each day, and the Dr said to do my absolute best to keep this up and just stay hydrated as it's good for me, baby, and birth

MollyQueenOfSocks · 29/12/2021 14:08

@Winterfellismyhome

How many weeks are you now?

I got told at the appointment before last by my usual midwife we would get a C-section date on my Christmas eve appointment. The midwife I saw on 24th wasn't my usual midwife and she told me "we don't do that, you should have a consultant appointment booked" which I don't.

Pretty concerning as I am absolutely NOT wanting a VBac. Also don't want to be getting a date that's after 40 weeks because they are booked solid!

Winterfellismyhome · 29/12/2021 14:50

@MollyQueenOfSocks im 34 weeks. I had an appointment booked with the consultant on new years eve but she told me not to bother and just call her when i had made my decision.

@MollyQueenOfSocks i had an appointment booked because of a previous c section, maybe thats why?

Sunshine8888 · 29/12/2021 20:05

Sorry I’ve been quiet, I’ve just been rushed off my feet recently. Finished work on 23rd, had covid booster which made me feel unwell for Christmas Eve and super tired! And it’s just been manic since. I haven’t even had time to process that I’ve finished work. I never managed to finish work with my little girl as she came 5 weeks early! She was born at the start of the pandemic so I did most of the birth alone and a ten day stay in neonatal after with no visitors at all. Just hoping it wont be any worse than that 🙈 it would be even worse this time round as I would hate to be away from my daughter 😢. Also feeling totally fed up of being pregnant, constantly aching and shattered and eating has become a chore as feel so bleugh afterwards. Bump was measuring average at 34 week check with baby head down. I never made it any further than that with my little girl. I’m just hoping this one at least makes it to 37 weeks … desperately need to sort my hospital bag as well, so bad that I haven’t especially as I hadn’t last time and trying to pack mid contractions is not fun…

0Scapes · 30/12/2021 17:57

On the note of hospital bags - how many baby grows and nappies is everyone packing? I still need to wash baby clothes as I’ve been putting it off until the furniture gets here so I’d have somewhere to store it (should be here by next week!!).

I’m just realising how unprepared we are if she decides to make an early appearance and it’s really putting me on edge! Does anyone else feel similar?
