@PrettyPlatapus
I've sent you a message regarding the Facebook group.

The nappies that you were given might just need a strip wash or need to go into the tumble dryer to make them soft again. Hard to tell Grin

Anyone still nauseaous? I have more and more days where I am again so nauseaous. It's so annoying.
I would really like to go back to liking food but I'm still very cautious with what I eat and make a decision on how easy it will be to puke it up again 😶

But baby is kicking and this makes me so happy ❤️
Sometimes can't believe that half of the pregnancy is over.

glasspaw · 06/10/2021 11:16

@Peachi82 funny you should say that. I’ve been nausea free since week 14 but today (in week 21) I’ve started feeling sick again. Not ideal!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/10/2021 12:10

@Peachi82 yes I've suddenly got nausea and an upset stomach again last day or two (23 weeks). And had an odd day of sickness last week too. Hopefully it'll stop soon.

@PrettyPlatapus I used The Nappy Lady but also found The Nappy Guru maybe a bit better. I bought some of The Nappy Lady's newborn recommendations, and will be buying some of the nappy gurus. Just found the second site easier to use, the nappy recommendations and why easier to follow, and really liked the recommendation to use a small hanging wet bag for the nappies rather than a big unsightly bucket. The bags are actually super cute and will look lovely in the nursery.

Have to say I've no idea on baby clothes for a newborn in winter - what will they wear day to day in that weather and do they need a park suit?

rubberr · 06/10/2021 15:00

My son was born in Feb 2018 when we had the Beast from the East.
Generally he wore a vest, a babygro, hat, and had blankets surrounding him in the bassinet.

Anymore and he would overheat!

Peachi82 · 06/10/2021 16:50

Glad I'm not alone with the nausea. It's just so exhausting.

Managed a long walk with my son today, currently sitting on a hot water bottle to warm my bits up from the park 😂😂😂

My son was born Dec17, and I dressed him similar to @rubberr
You don't want to overheat baby.
I had a few cute suits from the jumble sale but never managed to get him into the first sizes. If you get a pram suit, get it a size larger. Doesn't matter if the legs and arms are too long, but it'll be easier to get them in and out of it. Especially if they hate getting dressed and undressed. Nothing worse than wrangling a baby in something too tight.

rubberr · 06/10/2021 17:28

Omg the absolute anger of dressing a baby in a snowsuit that has no stretch 🥵

rubberr · 06/10/2021 17:57

I could honestly cry.

I feel like I actually have another new cold.

Felt dreadful last week, then started to feel somewhat normal on Sunday, now I have blocked and heavy sinuses again!

Anyone else?!

catinthehat12 · 06/10/2021 19:45

I haven’t had a cold in years, isn’t that so odd to say? There are some awful ones going around, I am terrified of catching one. A friend also had one two weeks ago and seems to have caught another in very quick succession so really feeling for you Rubber.

AtomicSquash · 06/10/2021 20:10

Yes rubberr I am in exactly the same boat! Since falling pregnant I've had multiple colds, a vomiting bug, covid and tonsilitis all on top of morning sickness and pregnancy fatigue. It's one thing after the other. I was feeling like I was on top of things again for the last few days and now I've come down with another cold. It's is just totally and utterly draining isn't it.

Oh wow, that's a lot Cake
Sunshine8888 · 06/10/2021 21:13

Yeo I’m currently on day 12 of the most awful cold and totally fed up!

rubberr · 07/10/2021 08:05

So I've woken up worse again this morning.

I think it's something to do with sinuses. Headache, subtle ache under my eye area on one side, toothache.

I don't think the GP would do anything? And I don't really want to take anything!

22Feb22 · 07/10/2021 11:55

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow & managed to catch a horrible cold & slight cough yesterday Sad. I've done a COVID test which was negative but the 20 week scan letter says you aren't allowed to attend with any COVID symptoms. Anyone else had this issue?

feb2022 · 07/10/2021 12:43

@22Feb22 I'm exactly the same I have my 20 week scan on Monday and I've felt terrible all week!
I'd ring the hospital and tell them you have symptoms but you have a negative covid test and see what they say, they might be understanding because it is cold season at the moment and everyone has it my two boys are full of it too, it's not fun my household at the moment x

Winterfellismyhome · 07/10/2021 16:05

Hope the people feeling rubbish feel better soon ❤️

Winterfellismyhome · 07/10/2021 17:33

feb2022 · 07/10/2021 18:03

@Winterfellismyhome yeah my 20 week one, I can't wait, I know the nerves will creep in soon though x

HelloBambinos · 07/10/2021 21:55

Oh god sorry I've just managed to find my way back to the group and yes @feb2022 it's been a whirlwind since finding out. I hope those feeling ill feel better soon. Can I be added to the Facebook group please? I find it easier to navigate as well. So lovely seeing everyone's 20 week scan I have mine in Sunday and will be dh first time seeing little one. We aren't finding our gender though its so tempting I'm tempted to post my. 13 week pics here and see if anyone wants to guess for fun based on nub theory or just a feeling? It's always fun to guess. How is everyone now? Excited to be at the half way mark?

Winterfellismyhome · 08/10/2021 01:56

Good luck for it! @feb2022

@feb2022 good luck for Monday!
@HelloBambinos best of luck for Sunday! Post the previous pic although I'm rubbish at nub theory 🙈@Peachi82 can invite you to the fb group as she's admin.

Hey everyone, been quiet on here recently as we moved house last week and it's been hectic to say the least!
We're away from the catchment area now so have had to register here and get my notes transferred across. The hospital where I want to give birth said the midwife linked to the gp will book my scan with them. I'm 20 +3 and have a scan booked bk in London tomorrow and I've been trying desperately to get it over here instead as it's at 8am in woolwich and just not practical to go tomorrow. (Dh is supposed to be working, I have a baptism and 80th bday in different locations, plus we don't have a car yet.)
Anyway the midwife for the area has been off sick and I was finally able to speak to the team of midwives who said they'd sort an emergency scan out for next week. Not sure when I'll hear bk however so still contemplating whether we should just go tomorrow. I know you're meant to have it before 21 weeks ideally. Does anyone know how detrimental it is to have it after 21 weeks?

babywipes · 08/10/2021 17:36

St. George's hospital in Wimbledon routinely offer the anatomy scan between 21 and 22 weeks.

So doesn't sound like a problem?

Peachi82 · 08/10/2021 17:55

I think they try to book them early, so there is time for a repeat before 24 weeks. I'm not very familiar with the law, but I think not every detected condition allows for a termination beyond 24 weeks? I might be wrong though.

@Facebook group:
Has everyone got an invite who wanted one?

catinthehat12 · 08/10/2021 19:18

@Peachi82 I hadn’t joined it yet but had 20 week scan now so would like to. Thanks Smile
