Ladies hello sorry I have been awol, not had my baby yet alas 40+1 today so hoping it will be soon. Sending you all positive vibes and hoping that you are all healthy and well x

MrsMcJnr · 16/01/2008 15:38

I guess I will have to post more now that I am your Grand Dame thanks for thinking of me!!

Jules - I just wanted to say that the heparin must be working here, I am the first person to go over my due date in my family for decades and don't worry about being induced. I am having to have that chat tomorrow with my consultant and I'll share the chat afterwards but unless there is a really good reason why I have to be induced I am going to be playing for more time to go into labour naturally, it makes sense, the more intervention you have the more likely a C section is and the more dangerous that is having been on heparin! I'll keep you posted!!

feedmenow · 16/01/2008 15:43

Nice to have you still around MrsMc! You're rather alone on the Grande Dame front, so a lot of pressure on you now By the time I'm due, there are loads of us expecting at the same time, so we'll be fighting for the title!!

kate2179 · 16/01/2008 19:21

Evening ladies, may I have some (more ) advice please?
I've now got the forms from my gp for the hcg & progesterone tests, so I just have to pop down to the hosp to have the bloods taken whenever. When do you think I should have them? GP said whenevr I feel ready (umm, right now if it's good news, never if it's bad?)
I should be 4+0 tomorrow, so I could go thursday and fri, of thurs and mon, or fri and mon, or mon and wed..... etc etc etc... Don't want to get too hung up on the exact figures but I know they should be doubling every 48-72 hours, is that right? Thank you, sorry for being so indecisive!

Kate, honey, first things first...just go and get the first blood draw overwith.

kate2179 · 16/01/2008 22:09

Thank you Twilight maybe I will... But not sure if they'll give me the results separately or whether I'll have to wait to get them both together iyswim. Do you think tom then monday would be better then tomorrow and friday?
Thank you too jules - pesky weekends just always fall at the wrong time don't they?!

well - luckily the bleeding never got any heavier. Had some slight spotting last night of red blood and was sure that I'd be woken in night - slept on a towel just in case! got up this morning and (fingers crossed) no more bleeding. I was so sure that I was going to mc yesterday. Anyway - will just have to wait and see. 28th seems so far away. Am sure I'll get caught my some one in owrk with my hands down my pants at some point today!!!

EllieG · 17/01/2008 09:27

That's good news nervousal, take it easy today x

goingfor3 · 17/01/2008 09:51

Hello all,

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and it was wonderful. The images of the baby were so clear on screen and they had a screen on the wall for the parents to look at so no craning my neck like I had to at my 20 week scans with the others. I am having a girl which has really relaxed me as both of the children I have are girls and the ones I mc'd were boys, it may just be coincidence but it does put me more at ease.

kate2179 · 17/01/2008 09:55

Yay G43! Fantastic news

Thanks jules I'll give them a call now to check when they're open...

spugs · 17/01/2008 10:56

goingfor3 - congratulations on your scan hun, and a girl im pregnant with my 3 rd girl as well

mrsmc - 40+1 wow your pregnancy seems to have gone a lot faster then mine is going sending you lots of labour vibes x

kate2179 · 17/01/2008 10:56

not only do they say there's absolutely nowhere open on saturdays, I asked about getting the results and they said if I call the surgery in "about a week" they "should" be back by then
Apparently they all have to be sent to the lab at the one hospital locally that doesn't have a clinic to actually take the samples.
Pathetic. So am planning on going monday and wednesday, just hope I can get there in time each day... Rubbish!!
Although, I suppose as long as the results are good I don't care how long they take...

goingfor3 · 17/01/2008 10:58

kate2179 the hospital I go to doesn't have a lab onsite so all samples are sent away making the whole process longer. At the hospital I used to work at we could get results within a couple of hours.

p2b · 17/01/2008 11:02

Hi

Goingfor3 that's lovely news. Excellent. I'm off later for my fortnightly scan with the consultant. I'm now 14.5 weeks and approaching the point when my first baby must have died as well as what would have been my due date. I have to admit to finding it tough emotionally at the minute and I can't help fearing the worst. My husband can't come with me to the scan this afternoon so I'm having to be brave. Is it just me or does the stretch from the end of the first trimester to the infamous 20 week mark seem worst than the first twelve weeks? I panic when I feel nothing and panic equally if I feel twinges or aches.

Arghh...
Sarah

goingfor3 · 17/01/2008 11:07

p2b good luck for this afternoon, I really hope you see a wiggling jiggling baby in there. I find I need to break up the pregnancy, I reached my 21 week goal today as my first mc was at 20 weeks and now want to get to the 24 week viable stage, then 28 weeks so I know she has a good chance (the fact she's a girl makes a postive difference to the speed of recovery if she is prem), then after 34 I will be able to relax and know that if I go into labour me and my little girl will be home together within a few days of the birth. Let us know how it goes, I'll be thinking of you.

Uki · 17/01/2008 11:33

AWWWWW MRS MC???????

Where's that Baby, I'm waiting with baited breath to hear, so excited for you.

I love a surprise baby...... ?

GOOD LUCK

let us know all the beautiful details soon, echo you'll be a fab, fab mum

kate2179 · 17/01/2008 11:34

Thinking of you p2b, good luck! Let us know how you get on xx

nervousal · 17/01/2008 11:35

Good luck p2b - hope all goes well. I feel ridiculous - just noticed some more red bleeding. Honestly what am I like?? feel like I'm coming in here with "I'm going to mc", "I'm not going to mc", "no - I was right first time". sounds awful but I'm just thinking that if its going to happen I just wish it would happen and get it over with. But of course the bigger part of me is thinking "stretching womb, stretching womb..."

TJuice · 17/01/2008 12:19

i totally feel like the stretch to 20 weeks is hard. i am 17 weeks right now and not really showing or feeling much, apart from the stretchy twinges now and again. i had a scan last friday because i had a spot of browniness, but it didn't reassure me that much . . .i guess i am scan-greedy

i am positive about this pregnancy but to be honest, i sometimes get really sad and scared when i hear about late miscarriages...

i just want to feel kicks in my guts! and have a doppler and maybe a home-scanning machine. (I don't think i would ever leave the house . . . )

makecakesnotwar · 17/01/2008 12:19

positive vibes to MrsMc....cn't wait for your news.

With you on targets goingfor3- 21 weeks today too....scan still three weeks away, but breaking it up really does help me.

Morning all!
