Hi all, couldn't see an April 2022 birth thread so thought I would start one.
I'm due mid April but need a dating scan to confirm as I have an irregular cycle.

Hi all, hope it’s ok to join? We are due 10th April! How’s everyone feeling. I suppose I’m looking for reassurance but I’m feeling surprisingly ok. Sore boobs, very minor nausea and slight tiredness but wouldn’t know I was pregnant if I hadn’t had a positive test (also had a scan at 8 weeks!) wondered if anyone is the same? I’m glad of course but also really worried for the worst- only seem to have heard horror stories about awful sickness, debilitating tiredness etc!!

sexesam · 16/09/2021 20:54

@Lola008 apologise if you know this but use first urine of the day as it's more concentrated. Maybe 2 mornings in a row?

@mga13 I have basically no symptoms (sorry everyone). I realised I might be after I missed a second period and tested then. I have increased mucas now too but that's it. I am overweight with big boobs anyway so I have not got any noticeable bloat and my boobs didn't swell as far as I can tell so yeh... You are not alone in your lack of symptoms.

BrightSide1987 · 16/09/2021 21:40

@mga13 congrats! I felt like you with hardly any symptoms at all until about a week ago when my boobs became super tender and I couldn't stay awake lol! I think it's almost worse with no symptoms because then you're just worrying if all's ok. But I had a second scan today and all good so I'm sure you will be too!

ok1more · 17/09/2021 06:50

Hi can I join? Found out I'm pregnant on Saturday, had a private scan on Wednesday & I'm 11 weeks!

My youngest is 7 months!

Send help 😅

Edd is 7th April so all going well we will have a 15 month age gap.

We've decided to keep it quiet until our 5 month scan then going to do a surprise gender reveal dinner!

Crazy exciting times ahead.

BrightSide1987 · 17/09/2021 07:37

@ok1more congratulations! Two under two... fun times ahead for you! Are you having many symptoms?

mga13 · 17/09/2021 20:59

@sexesam @BrightSide1987 thank you both- I think I needed that be of re-assurance. I do have insomnia and sometimes the sleepless nights leave me googling- which isn’t always clever! Haha xx

sexesam · 17/09/2021 21:27

Noooo! Google is not your friend!

shannonl26 · 18/09/2021 08:16

Hi ladies, how are we all feeling? Anybody had any scans recently? I’m 9w6d today & if it wasn’t for my sore boobs (that aren’t awfully painful) id definitely forget I was pregnant 😂 so @mga13 I do feel you on that one.

@ok1more congratulations 👶🏻

QueenLagertha · 18/09/2021 11:25

Hi ladies 👋🏽 I see some on this thread have minimal symptoms also. I am 8 weeks today and have minimal symptoms. Due 30th April. In my last pregnancy I had unrelenting all day nausea and food aversions from 3.5 weeks until 14 weeks! I lost quite a bit of weight.

This time I had a bout of insomnia around the time of positive test and my sinuses are occasionally playing up again (had awful trouble with them last time). Sinus rinse sorts out the problem so far. I'm still waiting thinking the sickness could start yet!

BrightSide1987 · 18/09/2021 13:38

Congrats @QueenLagertha! Glad your symptoms are milder this time - unrelenting nausea sounds nasty! As you say could still come but my nausea was worst around the 5/6 week mark so hopefully you've escaped!

@shannonl26 I had a scan on Thursday - measuring 2 days ahead of due date now at 11 weeks so I think I maybe need to eat less otherwise baby will be giant Grin

Hi all - a fellow April 2022 expectant here … I’m 10+3 today and had a private scan at week 8 which said due date is 13th April (would have same bday as my sis) … I’d really recommend a private scan if that’s an option as just helped put our minds at ease a bit.

I’ve had such bad nausea and sickness and ended up needing a drip at the hospital (they gave me a HG leaflet but not convinced I have that 100%). Took anti sickness tablets for about 5 days and now trying to manage without them as want to limit taking medication if I can. The nausea is back but not as strong and luckily have managed to avoid being sick. I’m praying it gets better from here on as I’ve just been miserable since about week 5 whereas I thought this would be some of my happiest days as we’d been TTC for almost 2 years and had a MC last year just before Christmas … don’t get me wrong, I’m so grateful we’re pregnant, just needing to take each day as it comes and patiently waiting for the 2nd trimester when I hope I start to feel a bit more like myself again :)

Wishing everyone luck on their journey to their April baby Smile!

shannonl26 · 18/09/2021 15:12

@BrightSide1987 haha tell me about it, the amount of food I’m consuming is laughable but I can’t be stopped 😂

@1sttimemumat38 congratulations on your pregnancy, sorry you have been suffering badly with nausea I hope you feel better from here onwards!

for some reason today I feel extra anxious thinking at my next scan baby will have stopped developing. I really try to stay positive but it’s so hard after a previous loss & i don’t want to regret being so bloody miserable in this pregnancy! anyway moan over, PMA all around 😂

rosiej95 · 19/09/2021 03:28

Hey all

Hope your all doing well :)

I'm 11 weeks in a couple of days & I'm looking forward to getting a bit more energy 🤞🏻 😂
Found the last 2 days really hard but I've got a couple of days off work now so im exited for that.

I'm incredibly lucky where I am we have private reassurance scans for £50 i Didn't realise prices vary everywhere else.
Still waiting on my date for my 12 week scan starting to get a little impatient haha.

Still waking up in middle of night too 🙄
feeling sick & still very bloated 😂🥰

PinkCheetah · 19/09/2021 08:05

@shannonl26

Hi ladies, how are we all feeling? Anybody had any scans recently? I’m 9w6d today & if it wasn’t for my sore boobs (that aren’t awfully painful) id definitely forget I was pregnant 😂 so *@mga13* I do feel you on that one.

@ok1more congratulations 👶🏻

I'd definitely go for the private scan if you can. Mine cost £59 and it just helped reassure me things were going ok before revealing my pregnancy news to my family.

I feel nausea all the time, esp with food aversions. Feeling fed up now. Just want to eat a full meal again.

YorkshirePhoenix15 · 19/09/2021 14:48

@Lola008 I too can vouch for ultrasound direct. We went to 2 separate branches due to the sonographer having to isolate at the first one for our second scan (first one was too early) and both were absolutely lovely. Very nice calming atmosphere and definitely put my mind at ease

1sttimemumat38 · 20/09/2021 12:33

Thank you @shannonl26!

As you say PMA all round and fingers crossed for your next scan, hope all will be fine Smile x

rosiej95 · 24/09/2021 17:11

Hi all
Hope everyone's doing allright

I've Still not received my 12 week scan date 🤦🏼‍♀️
Midwife said if not heard anything by 11 weeks to contact her. I've text her & rang her & she's not answered/got back to me
So I rang the maternity reception to see if they could tell me the date To get told that my midwife hasn't referred me & until she does I won't get a scan.
So I've rang my midwife, text her & I've had no contact.
I've spoke to the doctors but they can't do anything as it's down to the midwife.
I'm 12 weeks next week & just feel stuck 😔
Anyone else had the same problem?

shannonl26 · 24/09/2021 17:29

@rosiej95 sorry your having a shit time of it! I’m 12 weeks next week too & I still haven’t had my letter but my midwife done my booking appt today where she told me it would be on the 7th so I’m looking forward to that!

I know in my area there’s only one midwife per doctor surgery, is it the same for you? Definitely keep ringing until she answers. I really do feel for you. Apart from that how are you feeling in yourself?

Harlequin1088 · 24/09/2021 18:48

@rosiej95 I'm 10 weeks pregnant and I've found that once you actually get hold of a midwife they're very good but getting hold of one in the first place is like trying to get an audience with the Pope. It took me two weeks of daily phone calls and leaving voicemails before I even got a booking appointment...

rosiej95 · 25/09/2021 03:54

@shannonl26 same here 1 midwife per gp surgery.
I had my booking appointment at 9 weeks.
It's getting me down tbh not going to lie
I totally get she's probs really busy but it is very frustrating 😔 I now can't try ringing her until Monday & then im 12 weeks on Tuesday 🤦🏼‍♀️
Apart from that doing fine still getting the occasional sickness & waking up early hours & not being able to get back to sleep but absolutely loving pregnancy 🥰
How about you?
Glad you've managed to sort the date! So exiting we're entering the second trimester 🥰

@Harlequin1088 😂😂 hopefully she gets it all sorted Quickly When I do finally get in touch with her 🤞🏻
I just had to ring gp to book my booking appointment so was an easier process. I can't believe how much it all varies depending on the area you live.

shannonl26 · 29/09/2021 18:35

@rosiej95 did you manage to get hold of your midwife? I’m super excited for my scan next Thursday just hoping & praying all goes ok! How have you been?

rosiej95 · 29/09/2021 19:08

@shannonl26
It's been an absolute nightmare 😂😂

I still hadn't heard anything by Monday so I tried again no answer rang the hospital to see what they advised, they gave me a number to ring who then gave me a different number to ring, spoke to the lady who was really quite rude & said you need to contact your midwife I then burst out crying down the phone explaining that's what I've been trying to do for the past week 😂 she then gave me another number to ring 🙄 in all fairness the last lady I spoke to was ever so helpful was so reassuring & told me that my midwife was unfortunately self isolating & that's why I wasn't able to get hold of her & that she was back in work today so to contact her then. (Which was annoying that I hadn't been told or given a number for another midwife?)

It got to the point tho where I'm starting to show & it's becoming a bit harder to hide at work so we decided to go for a private scan on Monday 🥰 it was amazing!
Measured 12+3 heard the heartbeat & had a really in depth scan, she said everything was looking really good!

& then the midwife rang me first thing today & got me booked in for our nhs scan next Wednesday 🥰
So I'm in a much better/positive mood 😂

It's so exiting having something to look forward to isn't it!
How are you doing? 😀

shannonl26 · 29/09/2021 19:27

@rosiej95 honestly that sounds so stressful 😂 but I’m glad to hear it’s all sorted itself out now & how amazing to hear about your scan! So happy to hear everything went ok for you & in a week you get to see baby again!

I’m doing ok, I have bought an outfit already I won’t lie 😂 I know people say to wait for 12 weeks. But I’m feeling positive & will Cherish first outfit bought forever regardless!

F1fan81 · 29/09/2021 19:43

Hi all. Got my 12 week nhs scan today. Baby is quite the little wriggle monkey but got to see everything nice and clear. Such an emotional thing seeing baby for the first time. We are now confirmed as due 8th of April. So excited it's all very real now

BrightSide1987 · 29/09/2021 22:18

@F1fan81 brilliant picture - we are due date buddies! I also had my 12 week scan today and it was so exciting to see baby again (who was doing a handstand today). It blows my mind that they're wriggling around and doing somersaults in there and I can't feel a thing lol!

@rosiej95 glad you got sorted in the end - what a stressful start! Private scans are worth every penny for the peace of mind!

@shannonl26 we also caved last week and bought baby's first outfit... hard to resist!

Hope you're all doing well Smile
