Hi all, couldn't see an April 2022 birth thread so thought I would start one.
I'm due mid April but need a dating scan to confirm as I have an irregular cycle.

@Hopefulmama93 thank you for replying, I'm sorry you're feeling anxious - I totally get it though. If I'm not exhausted, I'm anxious! Is this your first?? It's my first and so I'm just muddling through, hoping for the best ❤️🤞🏻
My booking apt is on the 6th September and I will definitely speak to them about how I've been feeling, but I'm also hoping it will have eased by then too! X

Nervyy · 18/08/2021 23:26

@80sPadme thank you for the advice, I'm going to try and hang on until my booking apt with my midwife (6th September) but if I get any worse I will definitely reach out sooner. I managed to 'motivate' myself enough to put a load of laundry on and wash the pots today, so that's something!
I hope you are doing okay xx

Yes it's my 1st, it's hard when you don't know what to expect isn't it.

My advice would be, if you're really struggling in the next week or so or feel like it's getting worse, don't hold out until your appointment on the 6th, ring up the EPU and let them know how you're feeling ❤️

See your small victories as being a victory!!
Getting a load of laundry on and doing the dishes is no mean feat when you're feeling low.
By celebrating the small things you're being kinder to yourself, a wiser person told me this when I was really poorly.
Please keep going on for advice if you need it I'm always here for a chat.

Has anyone else noticed hair loss already? I'm 5+4 but when I run my fingers through my hair I end up with loads of hair in my hand, not clumps but a lot more than usual.

I feel like if this is happening already I'm going to be bald by 20 weeks 🙈😆

michmrob1980 · 21/08/2021 13:06

Yes! When I wash my hair it’s terrible 😩

So bad isn't it 🙈 I'm trying to wash my hair less to stop it but I'm not sure if it's helping it not... hopefully this is a symptom that won't last the full 9 months 🤞🏻
michmrob1980 · 21/08/2021 13:43

Me too, mine is so greasy right now lol! Dry shampoo it is haha 😂

I had my early scan today and due to having PCOS, the sonographer thinks I’m earlier than I thought. There was definitely something there and everything looks healthy but it was earlier than 6 weeks so I’ve got to back in 3 weeks when I will definitely be over 6 weeks (more like 8) to have another scan. I had my official dye stealer today and by my estimations and ovulation symptoms I should be 24dpo. I’m just glad it’s not ectopic. Been having some twinges on my left side and just relieved to see the tiniest thing on the scan but to know it’s in the right place. Xx

80sPadme · 21/08/2021 20:39

Sorry I've not been on folks, I've been having spotting the last couple of days and cramping on one side and it's really starting to worry me. I don't think except topic but I do think there is a possibility that my pregnancy isn't viable. I am however determined to have hope

@80sPadme I’m in same situation but started bleeding a lot this afternoon. I think this may be it but I sort of remember something similar with my little boy and I’m keeping hope alive just for a bit longer. @Nervyy suggested doing another test but I think maybe the hormones would still be there anyway xx

XBek1989 · 21/08/2021 21:57

Anyone else not really got any sickness? I’m so worried I’m exactly 7 weeks, I’ve had sore boobs, vivid dreams off my food guess some nausea (but don’t know whether worried sick more type feeling) but haven’t thrown my guts up?

Hopefulmama93 · 21/08/2021 22:21

@80sPadme @LittleMG sorry to hear this. Sending you both lots of positivity ❤️

I've only actually been sick a couple of times and it wasn't much at all. Not everybody gets full on sickness so I wouldn't worry

@80sPadme so sorry to read that you're experiencing this anxiety / stress 😞 have you reached out to your EPU to see if they will scan? How far along are you? I really really hope that your pregnancy is viable, but if it's not then getting seen sooner rather than later is definitely best for your health ❤️ sending positive vibes your way and hoping for a positive outcome for you xx

@XBek1989 my symptoms seem to fluctuate - started off with really notably sore boobs, exhaustion.. moved on to peeing loads!! And heartburn, boob pain comes and goes, have random sweating (lovely!) and random exhaustion. My moods have been all over the place. Started with very mild nausea / off food a few days ago (I'm 7+3) but this fluctuates too. I think it's normal for symptoms to vary from day to day / week to week so as long as you've missed your period, I wouldn't worry too much xx
XBek1989 · 21/08/2021 23:11

@Hopefulmama93 @Nervyy thanks ladies that’s really reassuring! I’ve been peeing loads too, hopefully I’ve just escaped the 24/7 sickness this time around or it may hit me later!

Good morning ladies, I have my first midwife appointment on Wednesday (5w3d) and am going to raise a question on the Covid jab. Initially I was reluctant because of the rumours of messing with fertility and because I have very bad excema and psoriasis so didn't want to risk any of the ingredients causing me to flare up (I've had no flare ups the past 4 months).
However, now with all the stories about covid damaging the placenta etc I'm thinking that the benefit to my baby outweighs my discomfort from a bad flare up.

Since we are due around the same time I wanted to ask- has anyone on the thread been jabbed since finding out they are pregnant or planning to during pregnancy?
If yes, how far along will you be for both?

Thanks so much

I was pregnant when I had my 2nd jab but I didn't know I was pregnant yet, it would've only been a week (ish) after conception but I did speak to my doctor first and she said it's much safer to have the vaccine and be protected during pregnancy. But of course it's completely your choice
Hopefulmama93 · 24/08/2021 11:45

Morning ladies, I just wanted to pop this in here and hope for some reassurance, my husband is trying to comfort me but doesn't really get my worry.

I had a couple of bleeds last weekend, nothing major just a wipes worth each time. I had it again this Sunday just gone. No pain, just a small amount of blood.

I phone the EPU yesterday and they got me straight in for a scan. Based on my last period I'd be 6 weeks today but at yesterday's scan they said the sack was measuring over 6 weeks (I don't know if this is an issue or not, I should've asked)

But they couldn't see the baby yet. I know it's very soon and the baby will be teeny tiny but I made the mistake of googling '6 week scan pictures' and I could see the tiny little baby in them so now I'm worried that they couldn't see mine.

I'm going for another scan next week and just hoping and praying they can see something

Hi ladies, anyone else not having any symptoms, I'm 7 weeks and still nothing if I didn't do a test I wouldn't of known, I also paid for private scan and there is a baby there and was a heartbeat, I get some days where my boobs are little heavy but that's it.
I've also had 2 miscarriages in last 18 months so Im so worried. Xx

I said the exact same thing, then bam! Nausea, vomiting, mood swings, too hot, cramping, diarhea, wish I'd never said anything GrinGrin
ChantelleFirstBaby · 27/08/2021 04:50

Hi guys Im Chantelle and im pregnant with my first baby! very nervous! I started getting breast soreness about a week ago and thought it was my period coming. I have very long 35 day cycles so I didnt think much of about 3 weeks going by. Anyway two days ago I was sat on the toilet and wiped some blood and thought right its finally here. But thats the only blood I had. So the next day I casually did a cheap test I had lying about and you can imagine my shock to see two dark lines! I brought 2 sainsburys ones both positive and I did 2 clear blue with week predictor and apparently im 3+! so worked it out that im due 23 April. So I thought I should pop on mumsnet and get acquainted :)

I too only have tender breasts! I usually get that before a period so I expected that. Its only because I only had a tiny wipe of blood and nothing since that I did a test! some women have full on given birth without ever knowing they were pregnant especially if they carry extra weight that hides the bump. So I wouldnt worry too much about lack of symptoms atm. Pregnancy is no set way for anyone just keep having your appointments and Im sure this time everything will be fine! good luck x
