Hi all, couldn't see an April 2022 birth thread so thought I would start one.
I'm due mid April but need a dating scan to confirm as I have an irregular cycle.

@Harlequin1088 I'm also 8 weeks tomorrow and feel exactly the same. The things helping me at the moment are Diet Coke and eating little and often all day. If I let myself actually get hungry the nausea is so bad I struggle to eat anything 🙈 so gage the eat before I feel hungry.
Hoping it'll ease off soon 🤞🏻

Harlequin1088 · 07/09/2021 06:17

@Hopefulmama93 Ah so we're baby buddies then! Yes I find that the nausea is exacerbated if I allow myself to get hungry and then of course I don't want to eat because I feel so sick! It's a vicious cycle. I've got a tin of ginger biscuits under my bed so I've been having a bite of one of those every morning before I physically get out of bed as I find the act of sitting up after being asleep all night is enough to make the room spin. It's like having a hangover without the pleasure of having imbibed the night before 🙄

Hopefulmama93 · 07/09/2021 12:25

@Harlequin1088 we are ☺️
I was told ginger biscuits and they do help when I'm eating them but the after taste makes it worse. Even things like feeding my dogs and the smell of my living room (nobody else thinks it's smells 🤣) make me feel sick 🙈

6W5D since AF and I'm experiencing the best pregnancy symptom ever.... my boobs are bigger than a handful 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

How's everyone feeling today?

Love it! 😆 mine have also grown but they need to stay hidden because they're like a roadmap of blue veins which is a dead giveaway 🤣

And I got my 12 week scan booked in today, less than 4 weeks to go 😍 now if this exhaustion and nausea could go away I'd be great 🤣

shannonl26 · 08/09/2021 15:48

@wannabeamummysobad snap! they feel so heavy Grin I was supposed to have a call off my midwife today but I never did & she only works every Wednesday! I’m worried it’s going to be left too late & then I’ll be behind for my scans etc Grin

@Hopefulmama93 how exciting you’ve got your scan booked! It’s going to fly by!

wannabeamummysobad · 08/09/2021 16:07

@shannonl26 how far along are you?
This is my first pregnancy but I'd guess that the midwife would fit you in within the appropriate window (8-14 weeks) irrespective of when you reach out to them. Don't worry.

I self referred to my preferred hospital at 4W (I have a 25day cycle so knew the day AF didn't show I was pregnant) and despite this my 1st trimester scan isn't until 12W5D 🤷‍♀️. I have an early scan this weekend so I'll have a better idea of if my dates as currently going my my last AF.

shannonl26 · 08/09/2021 17:59

@wannabeamummysobad I’m 8w2d so I know there’s still time, I’m just an impatient soul Grin I’m going to book another scan for next weekend so I’ll be nearly 10 weeks, I saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks so I’m just excited to go back & hopefully see little beans heart flicking away again!

How are you feeling? How exciting for your scan. I really hope all goes well Flowers

wannabeamummysobad · 08/09/2021 18:04

@shannonl26 I'm very bloated and cycle through nausea but nothing major, constantly need the loo etc but overall I'm feeling great.

Really excited for the weekend - I live my life very positively so can't wait to see heartbeat/s. I'm currently convinced I'm having twins 🤞🏻. Just counting down the days.

shannonl26 · 08/09/2021 21:49

@wannabeamummysobad how amazing would twins be! You’ll have to let us know how it goes. I really do love your positivity. Your scan will be here before you know it. Smile

BrightSide1987 · 08/09/2021 22:28

Hi everyone, hope it's OK to join. I'm 9 1/2 weeks along, due 9th April 2022 - conceived via IVF so am able to be pretty precise about dates already! Have had very little in the way of symptoms so far, except my nipples feel like they're about to fall off today! Hope you're all doing well Smile

shannonl26 · 08/09/2021 22:49

@BrightSide1987 congratulations! how are you feeling?

I’ve got (another) scan booked for Friday where I’ll be 8w5d, I was going to wait until 10 weeks but I just can’t Grin

BrightSide1987 · 08/09/2021 23:00

@shannonl26 thank you! I'm feeling good overall thanks, have seen the midwife this week so it's all starting to feel more real now!

I don't blame you for wanting extra scans - at this stage when you can't feel anything it's hard not to worry! I've had regular spotting all the way through so fully expected our 8wk scan to show nothing but happily there was a heartbeat and all looked on track! So now I'm trying to worry less and counting down the days until our 12 wk scan!

BrightSide1987 · 08/09/2021 23:01

P.s. congratulation to you too @shannonl26 - it's an exciting time! How are you finding it?

shannonl26 · 09/09/2021 08:28

@BrightSide1987 I’m glad your feeling good. Have you thought about finding out the gender when the time comes?

Honestly if I could have weekly scans I really would Grin ive had 2 previous miscarriages so I feel really guilty for not being able to enjoy these early stages, but I know my scan tomorrow will put me at ease. Seeing the heartbeat at 7 weeks did make me feel good as I’ve never made it this far before. I’m sure all will be ok, I’m just a natural stress head Grin

BrightSide1987 · 09/09/2021 12:40

@shannonl26 sorry to hear about your losses, it must have been very hard and make the whole process now that but nervier! This is our first pregnancy so I am trying to stay realistic but it's hard not to get carried away!

I think we're going to find out the gender but will probably keep it to ourselves until baby arrives (mainly to discourage grandparents deluging us with either pink or blue stuff!). What about you?

HW1989 · 09/09/2021 14:06

Congratulations to you all!
Can I join in here?! I’m currently around 10-11 weeks pregnant. Not entirely sure on dates as baby was a surprise (I was consistently taking the pill). I have my scan next Wednesday so excited and nervous to see how things are going and find out how far along I really am!

rosiej95 · 10/09/2021 04:02

@wannabeamummysobad that's one of the best pregnancy symptoms I've experienced so far 😂
The waking up at silly o'clock, not being able to go back to sleep & the nausea haven't been my favourite though 😂

I had my booking appointment on Wednesday so hopefully won't have to wait long for my 12 week scan date 🥰

Anyone else feel like they're starting to show allready? Im only 9+2 & know it's just bloating but feel like Im having to wear more flowy tops for work & I'm struggling with my jeans 🤷🏼‍♀️ even my mum commented on it 😂🙈

Supernova2021 · 10/09/2021 12:23

@BrightSide1987 Ah we are due date buddies (for now, mine will likely change as my cycles are usually a bit longer).

@rosiej95 I'm definitely feeling the bloat struggle! Jeans have been ditched for leggings for the foreseeable Grin

shannonl26 · 10/09/2021 12:49

@BrightSide1987 I’d like to think I’ll be able to keep it a surprise, but I’ll probably change my mind 10 times when it comes around Grin woken up today with boobs not as sore as they have been, so ofcourse I’ve convinced myself that the scan today won’t go as I’m hoping. I do make myself angry not being able to enjoy this pregnancy but I think I’ll feel more at ease come the 12 week mark.

@HW1989 congrats on your pregnancy, do keep us updated with scan! 🥰

@rosiej95 snap with the bloating, honestly so uncomfortable isn’t it 😂

@Supernova2021 I feel you on the leggings, my absolute saviour at the moment 😂

HW1989 · 10/09/2021 13:53

Last week I thought I was really showing then this week when I’ve had more time to exercise I’m back to my normal size so I guess it was just water retention and bloating. But sticking with leggings anyway!
Excited for the real bump to start coming out!

Good luck with scans everyone and keep us posted.

irene88 · 10/09/2021 15:46

Hello! I was in a different thread but I can't find it anywhere - so weird! - so I found myself another one instead :)

Just came back from my private scan, baby measuring exactly as per my dates (8+1) and a strong heartbeat. So happy! I was quite worried as 3 months ago I was diagnosed with a MMC, so I've learned the hard way that even if things seem to be going well it might not be the case... but so far so good with this little bean.

shannonl26 · 10/09/2021 18:27

Scan went absolutely amazing this evening. Measuring at 8w5d, not 9 weeks like the pic says for same reason 😂 but saw baby wriggling around & a strong heartbeat what an amazing feeling. 👶🏻

@irene88 Sorry for your previous loss. Im glad your scan went ok & a big congratulations to you 🥰

@rosiej95 my newest symptom is constipation. I'm so uncomfortable and don't know how to relive it. It's so uncomfortable I had to cut my run short this morning. Currently downing water and having a decaf coffee in the hopes I can move this along. 7W2D since LMP

irene88 · 11/09/2021 11:43

Hi @rosiej95 , I suffer from chronic constipation but funnily enough so far the pregnancy seems to be making things easier for me.

If you can stomach it, try kiwi fruit or - even better - a smoothie with kiwi, papaya, ripe banana, etc. Prunes are of course best for this (but I hate them).

Then there are the foods you better stop eating for a bit: white pasta, white rice, white bread, unripe bananas and unripe fruit in general. Switch to brown cereals, I actually prefer wholemeal bread and brown rice. Wholemeal pasta is not my fave but Sainsbury's is decent.

If none of that helps, I'd suggest asking your doctor for help. There are a bunch of natural and not natural meds you can take that are safe during pregnancy but speaking to a doctor first is a must.

Good luck!
