Hi all, couldn't see an April 2022 birth thread so thought I would start one.
I'm due mid April but need a dating scan to confirm as I have an irregular cycle.

I think you should ring your hospital's maternity department and ask for your results, I did this when I hadn't heard and I was told the results over the phone and then the woman I'd spoken to also emailed them to me. They said they had posted them but I still haven't received anything in the post nearly a month later. I'd assume you're fine and they'd have rung you if anything was wrong but it's not really good enough to say you'll find out at your 16 weeks appointment.

I had my second vaccine while pregnant and it was completely fine.

BrightSide1987 · 22/10/2021 11:28

Hey ladies, hope you're all doing well! Had my 16 wk appt with the midwife today and got to hear baby's heartbeat on the Doppler machine - it's so reassuring!

@Aria28 welcome - I second @Londoner5s in saying you should ring to chase results - it's too much anxiety to cope with for another week and a bit!

@rosiej95 what a clear scan photo! I'm like you though, no clue what's what Grin

rosiej95 · 22/10/2021 14:26

@shannonl26 how exiting! That's not that long away at all! 🥰
Feeling so much better now Thankyou! Last day of self isolation today too 🥰
How are you doing today?

@BrightSide1987 think it was something to do with the fact my bladder was that full I think I was going to burst 😂🙈
Ahh lovely to hear all went well it's so magical hearing the heartbeat isn't it! 🥰

wannabeamummysobad · 22/10/2021 22:57

@rosiej95 @shannonl26 no I haven't had it. So worried about it so held off as though in London I WFH and don't really have a social life right now.
Will reassess once I've had my flu and whooping cough vaccinations in a few weeks. I'll likely wait until 3rd trimester unless my social life widens in the holidays.

heebiejeebies45 · 23/10/2021 07:55

Hi @rosiej95 I've name changed but was previously yesterdayisinthepast.

Aw bless you! I remember being completely off food in my first pregnancy, it was awful. Glad to hear you're doing much better now tho:)

SPD is awful, most days I can't even walk and I have a 5 month old to be looking after too🙃 all is well with me thank you! Excited to find out the gender in Dec

ponymum1980 · 24/10/2021 10:07

Hello, can I join the due April's? Had my scan on Friday and due April 30th. (Wasn't sure if I'd be April or May) and was so anxious until I saw my little baby jumping around on the scan. 13+1 and enjoying the second trimester infinity more than the first!

Saa101 · 24/10/2021 12:24

I’m 13+ 3 due 28th April. Anyone have any idea if they think boy or girl xxx

Had my first midwife appoint - they asked a lot of questions, weighed me, took my bloods and blood pressure! Haha @rosiej95 they gave me the pregnancy pack which was bulky and obvious 🙈🙈🙈

Welcome @Hmumoftw0 @wannabeamummysobad @ponymum1980 @Saa101
Massive congratulations! :)

@wannabeamummysobad I am so buzzing as well! But also nervous at getting myself too ahead of myself.
I am very nervous about covid tbh. I work in healthcare but haven’t had my booster and not sure I want it at the moment, as there is not much data. I have had the double vaccines. I get the tube and train to work and so many people not wearing masks it’s making me nervous.

@yesterdayisinthepast that’s so cool that your birthdays will be really close to each other!

@shannonl26 that’s so tricky with the sickness.
I am loving the chocolates and the sweets at the moment! Even more so though than usual. The weight is piling on which is making me a bit nervous tbh 🙈 Gosh your hours are so long! I am doing about 13 hrs including a over 2 hr commute each way. Not sure if this is going to be doable toward the end 🙈 How are you finding it?

xxxx

wannabeamummysobad · 25/10/2021 09:05

@Dreambow what was in the pack? I only got a blue book for appointments results etc and was told to carry it everywhere. Tbh, I haven't been (only to hospital appointments) but I'm barely going anywhere.

I agree with the tubes it is beyond annoying that people aren't wearing masks but I wear mine and sanitise before I put it on/take it off. I find it so strange that people either don't wear it or even worse hold onto a public banister and touch their faces/face mask without sanitising. You can only try your best I guess. As for me I still don't let people sit next to me if they aren't wearing a mask - I just point to the sign saying wear a mask and they either walk away or go into their pocket to put one on. There was even this old lady that tapped a maskless woman who wanted to sit next to me and gave her a disposable mask to wear 🤣.

rosiej95 · 25/10/2021 09:20

@Dreambow honestly I've recently changed gp surgeries & if I was going to my old one I would have had to walk through a busy town with it 😂🙈
Someone would have deffo seen me 😂

@wannabeamummysobad it's mainly just leaflets but you get a couple of samples of washing powder, pregnacare tablets & few other little things.
I love that you do that! I think we're now in a world where you do you I do me kinda thing to protect yourself I think that's the only thing you can do nowadays.
I still wear my mask everywhere. It's like my safety blanket!

@ponymum1980 @Saa101 congratulations! :)

How's everyone doing this week?
I can't believe how fast the weeks are going tbh 🙈

coconutlatte44 · 25/10/2021 11:05

Hi all
I'm moving over from May as I'm expecting mcda (identical, shared placenta) twins who generally tend to be delivered at 36 weeks, if not before then. So April (or earlier) it is! I should get an official "due date" at my 12 week scan next week.

I have a somewhat tricky pregnancy history - early loss first time, successful pregnancy (21 month old son), another early loss, and now this one which is high risk but looking good as of last week. I'm just now starting to accept there's a good chance it will work out, although the risks will persist throughout the pregnancy in this case.

Anyone else expecting twins?

BrightSide1987 · 26/10/2021 13:38

@shannonl26 have you had your jab yet? If it gives you and @wannabeamummysobad any reassurance I had mine during the 2ww and all seems to be going fine for me!

Welcome and congrats @ponymum1980 and @Saa101 - how are you both feeling? And wow @coconutlatte44, double excitement for you with twins! I know what you mean about not being able to relax yet but fingers crossed it'll be smooth sailing for you all 😁

rosiej95 · 27/10/2021 18:10

Hi all

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today :)
Got to hear baby's heartbeat again ❤️ it's such an amazing feeling!

How's everyone else doing today? :)

@coconutlatte44 congratulations on your twins! :) How exiting!

BrightSide1987 · 27/10/2021 22:31

@rosiej95 so pleased for you! I grinned from ear to ear last week hearing ours - it's a brilliant feeling!

shannonl26 · 28/10/2021 21:07

Hi all!

Been a bit quiet lately I was just recharging the batteries but I finally feel more human! Congratulations & welcome to the newest members of the gang 🥰

I rang the hospital to discuss my results & they basically said the fact they hadn’t called means I’m low risk but the midwife will discuss at my 16 week appt on the 3rd. I wasn’t happy but what can I do eh 😂 I have used the Doppler a few more times too, I get so excited hearing little one wriggle & that heartbeat is the best sound. I’m hoping the midwife will do it with me next week too, plus my gender scan is the 4th so baby overload 👶🏻

I’m 16 weeks tomorrow & I’m getting more excited as the days pass! How is everybody doing? Anybody had any scans recently?

Dreambow · 29/10/2021 09:50

I am 15 weeks today - soooo excited and count ourselves lucky that we have made it this far :)

@rosiej95 awwwwww it’s so nice hearing the heartbeat!! How wonderful!
My Doppler arrived; love listening to the heartbeat! Wow @shannonl26 your gender scan is soooo soon! Do you have any idea what your having? I have not had any recent scans but have my 20 week scan booked in for the 3rd December- looking forward to seeing him again :)

Congratulations @coconutlatte44 and welcome!! :) You must be so excited to have identical twins! Do you have to have more regular scans? I hope you are being well looked after.

@wannabeamummysobad the pack just had some baby wipes, washing powder sample, vitamin sample and some leaflets - you have not missed much! You are so good telling people to put masks on - on my early tube there only about a third wear masks so feel like I can’t tell them all to put them on. 🙈

I am finally starting to have my energy back - was absolutely exhausted and panned out in the first trimester! How is everyone else feeling? xxx

shannonl26 · 29/10/2021 11:40

@Dreambow oh wow happy 15 weeks 🥰👶🏻

I’ve had a ‘feeling’ from day one we’re having a little girl. No idea why, all friends & family with the exception of 2 people also think girl so I’m so excited to find out! I’ll be completely thrilled either way that’s for sure.

This is a private scan I’ve booked so I can do a reveal with close friends & family, my NHS scan is Nov 22nd where I’ll be just over 19 weeks! 😊 have you bought much??

rosiej95 · 29/10/2021 11:49

I had a private scan on Tuesday 🥰 baby is so much bigger 😂

@shannonl26 my nhs scan is the same
Day as yours! :D

@Dreambow I feel like I could eat ALL the time 😂😂😂 deffo not how I felt at the beginning. Have a few nauseas days here and there.
How are you doing? :)

ponymum1980 · 29/10/2021 21:18

Second trimester is SOOOO much nicer than the first! So lovely to have had our first scan at 13 weeks and so reassuring to see the baby bopping about. Energy is back up (hooray) and nausea is pretty much gone. We booked our wedding today (civil ceremony in January next year, then will do a proper reception in 2023) and the trisomy blood tests all came back low risk. On a little bubble of endorphins right now.

hibye123 · 29/10/2021 21:24

Second trimester is SOOOO much nicer than the first!

Literally😂 second trimester was the best in my first pregnancy and now currently in my second. Sometimes I forget I'm pregnant but PGP never fails to remind me!😩

shannonl26 · 30/10/2021 10:59

@rosiej95 exciting times!

@ponymum1980 & @hibye123 I deffo feel the opposite I’ve been floored with sickness for the past few weeks, hoping it’ll calm down soon 😂

How are we all feeling?

SlipperTripper · 30/10/2021 14:53

Have come into town today to do some Christmas shopping, and have a BURNING desire to buy a tiny green jellycat octopus.

I've taken myself off for a coffee and a talking to. Promised myself no baby shopping until 24 weeks. But... omg, it's so bloody cute.

Has anyone bought anything sneaky? Something monumental will have to happen to stop me going back and buying it, I don't think a lemon muffin is hardcore enough.

shannonl26 · 30/10/2021 15:35

@SlipperTripper I bought my first bodysuit at around 10 weeks I think it was. I’ve only got 5 outfits in total, I’m now 16 weeks 😊

Buy the outfit!!

BrightSide1987 · 30/10/2021 16:00

@SlipperTripper we've bought one outfit but OMG my mother in law has bought about 17 outfits already! She's a shopaholic and this has opened up whole new horizons Grin buying stuff makes me feel the pressure but it's hard to resist though!

Aquarius25 · 30/10/2021 16:06

hello all
I am currently 18 weeks pregnant today, due april the 2nd 2022
I've not been enjoying my pregnancy so far, I've had a really rough time of it, 4 months in still suffering. I wonder when I'll start to feel like myself again, anybody else been suffering? I've come here because I dont have anybody to talk to, I'm scared and worried constantly and anxious so would be greatful for any advice or help or even someone going through the same xxx
