Hi all, couldn't see an April 2022 birth thread so thought I would start one.
I'm due mid April but need a dating scan to confirm as I have an irregular cycle.

@rosiej95 still feel really ropey and struggling to eat much. Barely moved off the sofa today 🙄

Lauren87E · 17/10/2021 10:21

Hi everyone! I've nervously sat back as I have been too frightened to post. We have had two baby losses this year. Yesterday we had our dating/screening scan and we are so happy that we could finally announce our pregnancy. I'm 12 weeks 6 days today! Congratulations to you all! Due date is 25th of April. Xxxx

Harlequin1088 · 17/10/2021 10:55

Congratulations @Lauren87E xx

Lauren87E · 17/10/2021 11:55

This is bean! It wouldn’t let me attach it to my post 💙💜

@Lauren87E Oh how lovely! I had my scan a couple of weeks ago and it took them two hours to do it as baby was so active in there that you'd be forgiven for thinking it was doing parkour around my uterus! 😂 I was so embarrassed that the baby wouldn't behave but the sonographer reassured me that at this stage the baby's inability to behave was no reflection on my piss poor parenting skills 😂😂

rosiej95 · 17/10/2021 15:12

@Harlequin1088 sometimes a sofa says needed 🥰 haha sounds like you got a lovely bit of extra time seeing bubba though 🥰

@Lauren87E congratulations! Lovely pic ❤️

shannonl26 · 19/10/2021 22:06

How are we all doing ladies? I hope everything is all going fabulous for you all!

I’m 15 weeks on Friday & honestly the sickness has gone crazy lately 😂 used my sisters Doppler this evening though & got to hear babies heartbeat for the first time, beating away at 157 beats per min ❤️

rosiej95 · 20/10/2021 09:17

Good morning
@shannonl26 I have the worst cold in history of colds 😂🙈 thankfully it's just a really bad cold & not covid but it's made me feel so weak & the sickness decided to make a return As well so that was fun 🙈

I'm 16 weeks on Saturday & time is flying by!
We have a little private scan next week to see bubba ❤️
We're still not finding out the gender tho 😂

Aww lovely to hear you heard it for the first time it's such a magical sound isn't it! 😍
How are you doing?

Dreambow · 20/10/2021 10:22

@rosiej95 I know what you mean about keeping it a little secret - it’s quite nice!! My bump is tiny (mainly food I think) so I don’t think anyone else can tell yet. Would prefer to wait until 20 week scan to tell family and friends but maybe more hard to hide the bump then!
Sorry to hear you have the worst cold. At least it’s not covid. I had a sore throat yesterday and cold today- negative for covid though! Hope you feel better soon x

@Harlequin1088 you poor thing! Your partner sounds amazing! Hope you are feeling a little better now? Has the sickness eased?

@BrightSide1987 congratulations! The harmony test is great. Was so excited reading the results. Great to hear you are having a little boy! My partner is so happy it’s a boy as he is planning to teach him football/ golf etc but we wouldn’t have minded either way! I grew up in a female household so not sure what to do with a boy! But very excited!

@Lauren87E many congratulations! I know what you mean - I sort of followed this thread but was too nervous to join!

@shannonl26 has your sickness got worse? I ordered a Doppler on eBay so hopefully it will come soon!

I have my first midwife appointment today- not sure what to expect. How many appoints do you normally have if everything is straight forward?
I am 14 weeks on Friday and less exhausted now. I have also put on 3 kg since I got pregnant so I hope that slows down a bit. Appetite seems to be reducing as was so unbelievably constantly hungry in the first 12 weeks that I ate everything and was never full 🙈🙈🙈

rosiej95 · 20/10/2021 11:38

@Dreambow yes so thankful it's just a cold
I know someone else that did that too & waited until 20 weeks 🥰

My first midwife appointment I had when I was 9 weeks it was just a load of questions getting my notes checking a wee sample
I did get given a pack as well that might as well of had a microphone attached to it saying " I am pregnant" 😂 so just be aware incase you get one & you have to walk to your midwife appointment as there not very discreet ha my friend never got one tho so not sure it's the same for everyone & then I have my next appointment at 16 weeks.
From what I've learned on this tho every midwife appointments are different.

I was in a ttc thread & it was so nice to be able to talk to people so it's even nicer to be able to be in a thread when pregnant 🥰🥰

Aria28 · 20/10/2021 12:54

Hello, hope you don't mind be joining. I'm 14.5 weeks, constantly paranoid after a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks earlier in the year, and haven't told many ppl so far so thought this thread would be nice to join! Hello everyone :)

Hmumoftw0 · 20/10/2021 12:56

Hello can this little bean and I join? Due 29th but will be born the week before Smile

Finally had my 1st trimester scan- 13 weeks today. My long legged button nose baby is due 27th April. Absolutely buzzing 💕💕💙💖. Any EDD buddies?

We opted for the NT and blood tests. Sonographer was vocal about everything being normal and healthy so keeping everything crossed the bloods say the same.

I don't understand the nub/skull theories but DH thinks he saw 🍆 during the scan but who knows. I just want a healthy baby.

Hmumoftw0 · 20/10/2021 14:04

@wannabeamummysobad iv just pain £9.99 for the nub theory techs 😂 hoping for a girl for my daughter as she said otherwise we have to sell it haha!

wannabeamummysobad · 20/10/2021 14:13

@Hmumoftw0 your dd is too cute! When my mum was pregnant with my younger brother I told her she wasn't allowed to have a girl because I didn't want her to be prettier than me 🙄🤣

yesterdayisinthepast · 20/10/2021 14:22

Hi all! Congratulations to everyone on their pregnancyThanks

Currently 14 weeks pregnant and I already have a 5 month old daughter! Huge shock for us but also great news. I had my first scan last week, so nice to see bubba is doing well and healthy.

My birthday is 18th April, second baby's EDD is 26th of April and our firstborn was born May 3rd! All very excitingGrin

shannonl26 · 20/10/2021 21:05

@rosiej95 oh I hope you feel better soon! How exciting another scan. If it was safe (and if scans were free!) to see baby daily I honestly would just sit there for hours 😂 I’m doing ok thank you, have you felt more tired as the weeks have gone on? I do 12 hour shifts in work & honestly they’re becoming impossible 😂

@Dreambow yes my sickness is the worst it’s been. I’m physically sick atleast once or twice a day but that nausea feeling never ever leaves! Doesn’t stop me from shoving chocolate down my throat mind 😂 amazing let us know when it arrives!

@Aria28 @yesterdayisinthepast& @Hmumoftw0 a huge congratulations & a big welcome to you 🥰 I hope your feeling ok!

@wannabeamummysobad what an amazingly clear scan! Did they say they’d ring or send a letter to let you know? I had mine 2 weeks ago & was hoping for the letter as I know a phone call means high risk. I didn’t have either so I spoke to my midwife who said I’d find out my results at 16 week appt! Disappointed me a bit as I’m worrying now!!

Has anyone started feeling movements yet? Sometimes I swear I can feel slight flutters but as this is my first progressing pregnancy I obviously don’t know what it feels like. 😂

rosiej95 · 20/10/2021 21:25

@wannabeamummysobad we also opted in for those tests my hospital told me it would be a 4-5 day wait for the letter & it came day 4 & all is good 🥰
@shannonl26 that's sad there making you wait :/ hopefully tho that means the fact your midwife is telling you at your 16 weeks rather then you having a phone call hopefully means good news🤞🏻
Also funny you should say about the movements I'm 15+4 & swear I have moments I can feel something ever so light mainly at night time 🥰

First trimester I was tired all the time now not toooo bad I'm on my feet all day but the longest I do is 10 hour days & that's hard enough 😂 your like superwoman 😂 hopefully it eases a little for you soon?

@Aria28 @Hmumoftw0 @yesterdayisinthepast congratulations!
How have you's been doing?

shannonl26 · 20/10/2021 21:44

@rosiej95 I know my sister had a letter within a week of her tests, she was in England & I’m in Wales so not sure why it’s different but luckily my appt is in 2 weeks so not much longer to wait! I’m 14+5 so I know I’m too early to be feeling definite kicks but I just SWEARRR I can feel baby flutters sometimes 😂 I’m glad your doing well! I feel like the 2nd trimester is such a busy time with all the appts & scans, it really is flying by. Do you have any sort of gut feeling on gender? I’m convinced I’m having a girl but would be so happy either way ofcourse.

rosiej95 · 21/10/2021 02:33

@shannonl26 I'm in England too
I'll be honest until the pandemic I didn't realise everyone had different rules 😂
I can't believe how quick second trimester has come around 🙈😂

So Im constantly switching, because of how sick & poorly I've been I thought it was a girl cause that's what I'd heard but I've also been told off a family member that she was really sick & had boys 😂🤷🏼‍♀️
& then I've gone off sweet stuff completely not bothered by chocolate or sweets more into crisps & lemon & limes 🤤🙈😂 so then im like 🤔 maybe it's a boy? 😂
My mum thinks girl tho! :)
I keep looking at my scan photo & ive not a clue what I'm looking for but I'm looking forward to the surprise 🥰

How long until you find out? Will you be waiting for nhs scan or find out at an early scan?

🤰🏼April 2022 Birth thread 🤰🏼
wannabeamummysobad · 21/10/2021 06:23

@shannonl26 I was told the practice got my trust (in London) was call within 4 days or letter within 2 weeks - keeping everything crossed for the letter!
At the 16 week scan they'll discuss my blood tests in detail.

@rosiej95 that's so exciting. I always saw myself as a 💖 mum but DM, MIL and DH are convinced baby is a 💙. Off the cuff I refer to baby as 💙 so maybe in my heart of hearts I know baby is a 💙, we'll definitely look to find out at the 20 weeks scan and either way as long as baby is healthy I'll be ecstatic!

On a somber note, how are people feeling about the risk of lockdowns/restrictions?
I keep reminding DH how we were drip fed a cancelled Xmas last year so I'm a tad worried as I want him at the 20 week scan (early December) - my friend was pregnant during lockdown at GS start of 2021 and her husband couldn't attend nhs scans. Keeping everything crossed I'm overthinking it.

yesterdayisinthepast · 21/10/2021 10:05

@shannonl26 @rosiej95 congratulations to you both too! I've recently stopped having terrible morning sickness as I'm now in my second trimester (thank God!) but I'm still suffering from terrible SPD which I had in my first pregnancy too:(

How have both of your pregnancies been so far and how far along are you guys? X

Aria28 · 21/10/2021 10:34

Thank you @rosiej95 and @shannonl26 for the welcome!

@shannonl I had my screening letter about a week later. I would say in the past I had a phone call when it was a bad result - and turned out for me I'd had a miscarriage. So I'd think they'd call you if it was bad (basically what the told me). But highly annoying for you to have to wait!

I've been feeling ok after first trimester, which is also making my worry! I'm glad I feel less nauseous but anxiety is high. I feel like I'm just going to be like this throughout!!

rosiej95 · 22/10/2021 09:08

@wannabeamummysobad it has crossed my mind, im really hoping it's not the case tho :/ have you had your vaccines?
I had my first one before my bfp & am due to get second one

@yesterdayisinthepast I'm 15+6 today at the start I was constantly being sick & so tired all of the time & completely went off food. I've had a few nauseas days here and there but am doing all right now :)
I've heard about spd & it sounds so painful! Hope your doing ok.

@Aria28 I agree! I remember the 2ww & thinking once I got a bfp it would be chilled from then. Oh how wrong i was 😂
I think this is it for life now we're constantly going to be worrying about our little bubba's ❤️

shannonl26 · 22/10/2021 09:22

@rosiej95 a very cute scan photo! Oh I know everyone thinks girl for me, literally everyone 😂 we’ve got our gender reveal on Nov 7th when I’ll be 17 weeks so we have paid privately. Then I’ve got my NHS one booked for Nov 22nd 😊 I’m the same as you looking at the scans though, no idea what I’m looking for in the slightest 😂 how are you feeling now?

@wannabeamummysobad I assumed I’d get a letter before my 16 week appt too but nope I haven’t had anything! I just pray that means I’m low risk & I haven’t been missed for a phone call or anything. Such a worrying time isn’t it? I am worried we’ll go back into a lockdown, but then they’re pushing the vaccine into people so much surely they can’t force everyone to get the vaccine & out us back into a lockdown anyway? But who knows eh 😂 I’ve got my first jab next week & I’d be lying if I wasn’t absolutely crapping it. Have any of you had the jab during pregnancy?

@Aria28 ah I am annoyed I haven’t had any update. Maybe I could ring the hospital to chase up the results as my midwife was very laid back & basically said just wait for Nov 3rd to discuss during my appt. the anxiety is real 🙃

I hope your all doing well. I can definitely feel baby flutters now, not all the time as it’s such a faint butterfly feeling but feels amazing when I do catch it. How far gone are we all now?
