Kaylie12 · 12/08/2021 19:55

Thank you for ur reply Smile
I done it at work I work in a care home to be honest I don’t know why I done it I think it’s anxiety thing cause of my previous but when I was searching about it it stated things like sexual activity can cause it and urine infections but I have spoke to with doctor yesterday and they have sent for a scan request and appointment at re current miscarriage clinic so I will wait see what happens sorry for ur losses also and I wish u all the best x

LadyBird2020 · 12/08/2021 20:18

@Kaylie12 previous losses can make your mind go into overdrive.
I purposely haven't bought any more pregnancy tests because I would have the urge to do them daily.
I can completely understand why you done it but sometimes, tests we do at home are not as accurate and will scare you.
It's easier said then done but try and trust your body is doing what it needs to this time round. You will have your rainbow baby 🌈❤️
Are you taking progesterone?x

Kaylie12 · 12/08/2021 20:46

Aww thank you that means a lot! I’m taking folic acid 5mg dr prescribed x

Derbee · 12/08/2021 20:53

Is anyone having strange food cravings yet? I’ve been a vegetarian for 15 years, and I keep thinking of steak and BLTs... I haven’t actually eaten meat yet, but I feel it’s inevitable Confused

LocoCoco13 · 12/08/2021 20:54
@LocoCoco13 Congratulations! I'm the same as you. Don't have many symptoms of pregnancy.
I try no to worry, I know it's easier to say then done.

I personally waiting for my midwife to contact me so I can arrange my first appointment and I can mention lack of symptoms that I have.
( In the area I live midwife contact you and make your appointments usually between 8 to 10 weeks of the pregnancy )
Where I'm from you don't get any appointments with midwife until 12 weeks. i hate this whole waiting about malarkey so stressful I'm going to look into getting a privet scan done maybe next week to ease my fears but I'm not sure I'd even be able to go cause there far away and my partner can't take the time off work to bring me as I don't drive

LadyBird2020 · 12/08/2021 20:59

@Kaylie12 it might be worth having a look at the PRISM trial carried out by Tommy's, the charity.
Although it can't be proven that progesterone has helped woman have a successful pregnancy, with history of early bleeding or miscarriage, it doesn't cause any harm.
I had tests done after my second miscarriage and all showed to be fine. When I fell pregnant this time, I requested progesterone from my consultant and take 400mg twice a day. Hoping it makes it his one stick.
It might not be for a everyone but might be worth looking into.
My consultant also told me to take baby aspirin every day until 12 weeks x

Laurenxx94 · 12/08/2021 21:00

@LadyBird2020 I wish I could just ask for progesterone as I feel that is what I've needed also!
What does baby aspirin do? Xx

LadyBird2020 · 12/08/2021 21:19

@Laurenxx94 you should definitely fight for it. I made myself a pest from the day I found out I was pregnant until my consultant agreed. I said I would happily go private to get it if I had too.
I'll attach a pic. Try using this when you speak to your GP or consultant. It's what I attached to my email to the consultant when requesting progesterone.
Baby aspirin is a low dose blood thinner. It doesn't do any harm but can help in early pregnancy. Some people take it throughout their whole pregnancy. However all my test results were clear so have been told to take it as a precautionary measure up until 12 weeks. It isn't on prescription and can be bought over the counter at any pharmacy. X

Due April 2022
Laurenxx94 · 12/08/2021 21:24

@LadyBird2020 I wish it was this easy. I don't even know how I would start? Would I say I've been attending EPU with spotting and have been recommended to take this? I would love to start baby aspirin but scared lol x

TeamNoSleep · 12/08/2021 21:26

Hello everyone! Joining the April club, this will be my 3rd Shock

@mummytoolive we are so similar! Also coming up as due 6th April and I also have a 6 month old (but a boy). Just thought I'd say hi Smile

Crazy but I already have food cravings! Tonight I had a homemade curry with a side of onion rings and ketchup Blush don't remember having any food cravings with my other two!

Booking in appt on 21st, now just the nervous wait to that all important 12week milestone.

Bebazpba · 12/08/2021 21:43

@LocoCoco13 I know it feels a bit like waiting game. But at least we all can share our experiences and help each other with anxiety and overthinking that comes with a positive pregnancy test☺️

If you decide to have an early scan can it be arrange around the ti. me your partner finishes or just before his work?

Funny i mentioned about midwife this morning and she tried to contact me today. She said she contact me again in 2 weeks time as she is on Holliday. Btw firs app wouldn't be a scan for me it would be just a long chit chat. Well at least that's what I gathered.

LadyBird2020 · 13/08/2021 06:17

@Laurenxx94 have you seen a consultant at the hospital to investigate your previous losses? If so, I would go back to him/her. They know your history.
A GP needs an instruction from a GYNAE doctor to prescribe progesterone. So if you can go back to the consultant, you are more likely to get it.
If not, speak to EPU and they may be able to ask a consultant on your behalf as you have been visiting this hospital during this pregnancy.
Last resort, ring your GP. They can then request an instruction from a consultant.
Baby aspirin doesn't do any harm but maybe speak to you Gp first. But it is easy to get hold of x

Motherofkittens28 · 13/08/2021 06:21

@LadyBird2020 ive actually been prescribed a blood thinner for my pregnancy, apparently I have elevated natural killer cells! I'm being monitored by my ivf clinic (although not an ivf pregnancy) and it seems to be pretty standard for them. It's a daily injection and it flipping stings but I'll do anything to make sure I keep this pregnancy. I'm also on 400mg of progesterone 3 times a day, the things we do hey!

Laurenxx94 · 13/08/2021 07:07

@LadyBird2020 thanks for all the advice! I hadn't seen a consultant yet that was my next steps as I was on the waiting list. I think il wait and see how this goes first it seems to be going ok and I really do feel pregnant.
Hope everything goes ok!

My nipples are absolute agony getting more sore every day 😫 the nausea comes in waves and I'm exhausted have been sleeping from 10 last night and I'm still tired 😒xx

Congrats @TeamNoSleep welcome xx

LadyBird2020 · 13/08/2021 07:09

@Motherofkittens28 I am only on baby aspirin, so a 75mg tablet a day. I went through the NHS for my tests and they apparently don't believe in NK killer cells 🙄 hoping this pregnancy goes to plan but if not, my next step is to be tested for NK killer cells privately.
I know what you mean, would do anything for a healthy, happy pregnancy.
I am on 400mg of progesterone twice a day! Let's hope it works for us 🙏🏼 x

fiorelli · 13/08/2021 07:11

Hello ladies, has anyone had cramping/ache ever since they were supposed to have their period? Mine just hasnt gone away and my period would have ended about 9 days ago. I'm 5w 5d now

21Bee · 13/08/2021 07:14

@Derbee meat cravings in pregnancy are because of an iron deficiency!

BaaBaaEmily · 13/08/2021 07:18

@fiorelli I get cramping on and off (6+4 now) if it's mild cramping I don't think it's anything to worry about as it's just your uterus stretching. If you're worried about it though talk to your midwife/GP to reassure you

fiorelli · 13/08/2021 07:27

Thank you for your reply. Mines not been on and off its constantly there, theres no let up at all. It's not painful its uncomfortable just like period cramps. I've spoke with EPU and I've got a scan Sunday but I wanted to see if anyone else has it there all the time and if its normal xx

LadyBird2020 · 13/08/2021 07:29

@Laurenxx94 no problem at all!
I will keep everything crossed for you. 🤞🏼

I definitely feel more tired. I went to bed at 9pm last night. It was definitely needed x

Laurenxx94 · 13/08/2021 07:32

@LadyBird2020 I was 10pm 😳😂 xx

Alohomora07 · 13/08/2021 09:01

Hi everyone, tentatively joining after testing this morning! Due 23rd April, this will be my second child, I also have a little girl who will be 3 in April (a little worried this baby is due, all being well, very close to her birthday!!). Excited to be joining, and congratulations to everyone else on their BFPs!

Sez93 · 13/08/2021 09:53

I'm not sure if I'm hungry, not hungry, want to throw up or want to sleep 😂

polkadotpixie · 13/08/2021 09:54

Hello, please can I join? I got my BFP yesterday at 11dpo so I'm really early

My EDD is 24.04.22 although baby will likely be delivered by ELCS around 38 weeks due to a uterine tear during my last birth

I'm 37 and have a DS who is about to turn 3 in September 😊

I'll try and read the full thread to catch up!
