Aww! When is yours?

Yes so happy to be having a girly, I live with my partner, my step son and my pug (male) be nice to have another girl in the household! Plus I already brought a lot of girl things

tuxedocat · 06/08/2021 19:43

@LAR96 so glad it went well, they’re little tinkers aren't they!?

We had a breech position yesterday, so head up higher, legs down at the bottom of my stomach below my belly button. Don’t think I’ve ever had a breech position before so it was interesting! Still loads of room to turn. But explains all the movements down low are feet kicking 😂

I feel quite sore today after my scan, she really pressed down hard in some bits and I’ve felt it today!

LAR96 · 06/08/2021 19:48

@tuxedocat ahh glad yours went well too! I had the same she was pressing quite firmly that it was quite uncomfortable! X

Curlymam88 · 06/08/2021 20:27

Congratulations on the scans today Smile
I've just had a weird experience. I was sat eating a curry and I felt the top part of my belly sort of tighten up a few times. Does anyone have any clue what it could be? Could it just be my stomach trying to digest the curry? Braxton hicks? I've no idea what braxton hicks feels like as didnt have any with my daughter.

LAR96 · 06/08/2021 20:44

@Curlymam88 no idea at all sorry!

My baby girl is having a party tonight, her kicks are getting so much stronger, my partner can feel them now!x

Curlymam88 · 06/08/2021 21:09

@LAR96 nor me. Never felt this before. Happened 3 or 4 times now stopped.
Same as my girlie shes going crazy tonight. For some reason my partner doesn't like to feel her moving he finds it weird??

tuxedocat · 06/08/2021 21:33

@Curlymam88 sounds like Braxton hicks, I had a few with my son but I can’t remember what they felt like, I’m sure it’s tightening like you said ☺️

burtle4 · 06/08/2021 23:42

@LAR96 congrats on the scan, brilliant picture, so used to seeing scan pics with them facing up it's funny seeing her facing down!
@Curlymam88 I think it probably was Braxton hicks, I've always experienced them throughout all three of my pregnancies from the first trimester through until last! Although mine is definitely a tightening of the uterus as opposed to the whole stomach as I can feel it harden. At around 12 weeks it's literally a tennis ball sized lump that goes hard, now I feel it all across the lower right side of my stomach. As pregnancy progresses it feels like my whole stomach goes hard, very strange feeling!

Theawkwardblonde · 07/08/2021 10:29

Had my twenty week scan yesterday. Thankfully all okay, but I have an anterior placenta. Luckily it's high not low.
Don't think the midwives were impressed with me 😂 the baby faced us during the scan so we saw a mouth and eyes. Midwives were all ooohing and ahhing. I thought it was the creepiest thing ever 😳🤣
We didn't find out gender as want a surprise ☺️

xTinkerbell · 08/08/2021 12:57

@Theawkwardblonde high anterior placenta is a totally normal position for placenta :)

Mine is anterior low 😩 hoping for movement by 30 weeks! I’m having a section regardless but I’m so scared of placenta being in the way for my section if it doesn’t move

JW2021 · 08/08/2021 20:00

When am I gonna feel a flutter??
20 weeks 1 day today - scan on Thurs 🤞🏻

2020mission · 08/08/2021 20:59

I've been feeling little prodding/kicks for a week or so. It's always low down areas and usually in the evening when I'm just sitting still, sometimes when I'm sitting still working during the day. I'm sure you'll be feeling it soon @JW2021! All depends on the placenta positioning I think? Scan buddies this Thursday 😅 can't wait

@Theawkwardblonde glad your scan went well. Most of what was on screen was all close ups like the face then it did you get a full view again?

xTinkerbell · 08/08/2021 21:07

@JW2021 definitely depends on placenta position. I felt baby 1 at 17 weeks and by 20 could feel him consistently. Posterior placenta.

Placenta anterior this time and at 20 weeks movements are sporadic and I could easily miss them.

Theawkwardblonde · 08/08/2021 23:34

@xTinkerbell ah I wasn't sure if anterior placenta was uncommon. I'm hoping it doesn't shift much as midwife said it would mean a section if so. I'm the opposite to yourself and trying to avoid a section if possible.

@JW2021 I've only been feeling slight flutters this last week or so. It can entirely depend on where your placenta is.

@2020mission it was a mix of positions. They did like a full body scan then focused on things like the head, brain, heart, face, kidneys stomach and spine. It was quite in depth. The midwives were enamoured with the face for ages as it kept opening its mouth loads. Freaky looking if I'm honest 😂😂 got a load of scan pictures to take away, including the creepy skull face one with its mouth open 🤣

xTinkerbell · 08/08/2021 23:46

@Theawkwardblonde I have to have a section because baby #1 was back to back and got stuck. They think my pelvis is too small for vaginal birth. Wish I didn’t need to have a section but if it’s safer for me & baby then that’s fine.

Did they say yours was likely to move? I know a few people who have had anterior placentas and not much was said to them about it other than it was anterior because they didn’t have concerns about it.

Theawkwardblonde · 09/08/2021 00:10

@xTinkerbell goodness that doesn't sound fun 😳😳 I totally get you having a section if it's safest for you and baby ☺️
My midwives in the scan said it can move lower. They weren't concerned, but said if it goes lower it can cover cervix which would mean a section. They advised it increases chance of baby being back to back though.

LouLou0505 · 09/08/2021 09:24

I’ve got an anterior placenta that’s pretty high. For the past week I’ve been feeling very strong movements from him and it’s all high up.

At my 20 weeks last week he said his feet are below my belly button which is exactly where we see him moving and where I feel it.

I thought I wouldn’t feel him as many said I wouldn’t but he’s defo kicking away in there. Pretty much the same time every day too.

Best of luck everyone having their scans this week! Bet you’re so excited to see your little darlings!! Xx

xTinkerbell · 09/08/2021 09:50

@Theawkwardblonde it was quite a trauma, tried forceps etc but he wouldn’t budge so I’m definitely not keen to repeat the experience 🤦‍♀️.

Oh I didn’t know that about it increasing the chances of back to back. I know my friend had an anterior placenta with her first and baby wasn’t back to back so fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you!

Good luck!

tuxedocat · 09/08/2021 11:02

Anterior def doesn’t mean less movements, but every baby is different!

I’ve had anterior both times and still felt kicks from about 23weeks first time, but last night I saw and felt my first big kick from the outside!

@LouLou0505 we have a similar position, legs below my belly button which is where I feel all the Jabs!

jade0881 · 09/08/2021 18:59

I know I'm so delayed and I apologise. I think I may know what your saying. I've had a few tightnings but only when I move in a certain position. Not what it is. Maybe baby is moving in an awkward position.

Thankyou!

My little step son has managed to get Covid of his mum and he's been with us all weekend so now we all have to isolate, so far negative! So disappointing and worrying :( x

jade0881 · 09/08/2021 19:06

Hi ladies sorry I haven't been interacting as much over the last few days. It has been such an emotional time for me. On Friday we had my brother in laws funeral. Didn't go sleep till 5am Saturday morning. Slept in all Saturday. Then Sunday it was my nephews birthday.

Anyway just an update. I am 20+2 today. I've been feeling a lot of movements. I have my scan this Wednesday. Hoping all is well.

Hope all you ladies are well. Congratulations to all who have had there scans. ❤️
