Any older mums?

Ladies, I'm wondering if there are any older mums pregnant on here?

I'm 43, 5weeks today. I'm anxious knowing the odds and suffered a miscarriage in November. Would be good to hear from you, might be nice to share experiences and positive vibes

I feel terrified too. Cramping won’t go, and I’m concerned about it. I really don’t know how I’ll get to 12 weeks (hopefully) in one piece.

Bdbel · 26/07/2021 19:38

@Cashewcookie is it constant or on and off? If it makes you feel better I cramp everyday. I think that's ok ❤️

@Bdbel it’s kind of constant with moments where there’s clearly something going on… it’s so hard isn’t it. We are the same age and weeks- I really hope all goes well. Xx

Bdbel · 26/07/2021 21:46

@Cashewcookie it is so hard... it's not knowing and having no control. Hopefully the cramping will calm soon and you can relax a bit. I hope we will both have good news xx

@Bdbel good luck for Wednesday, you'll be fine, let us know how it goes x

Room4onemore · 27/07/2021 12:37

Hope everyone’s ok, I have my 20 week scan tomorrow 😬

Slapnslip · 27/07/2021 12:39

Hi. I’m a few months off 40 and I’m 8 weeks with DC 4. Sore boobs, some spotting on and off. Had a scan at 6+4 and saw a little heartbeat.
The tiredness is crippling

tashx · 27/07/2021 13:30

Hi
I'm 17 weeks today
Can't wait for my scan
Tho I will be 21 weeks
Another 4 weeks 😞

burtle4 · 27/07/2021 19:16

@Room4onemore my 20 week scan is on monday, I really want it to be here but at the same time am so nervous! Good luck for tomorrow, let us know how it goes x

Room4onemore · 27/07/2021 23:33

Thank you, I will do

NopeNotTodaySucca · 28/07/2021 08:27

Good luck @Bdbel and @Room4onemore on your scans today Smile

Livingintheclouds · 28/07/2021 08:33

Long time since I had mine at 41 and 43. My sister had hers at 45, and a friend hers at 47, all conceived naturally. I could go on with other examples.
I was not treated differently other than offered a nuchal fold check. I developed type 1 diabetes with my first so went on a different track, but had the usual scans at the usual times. NHS was great.

AbD82 · 28/07/2021 09:18

Hi everyone! Congratulations to you all. I’m nearly 39 (2nd pregnancy but first ended in early miscarriage) and 6 +4. Prior to getting the positive test I was undergoing tests for early menopause! Due to family history and gynae problems! Having resigned myself to the fact that children probably aren’t in my future it’s been a huge shock! I feel a bit like a Martian having to google 'Am I allowed...' hoping it will all feel a bit more natural as time hopefully progresses! 🤞

Bdbel · 28/07/2021 09:21

@NopeNotTodaySucca thank you... I'm so nervous! It's not until tonight but I promise I'll let you know whatever happens.

@Livingintheclouds hello 👋 that's great to hear, I always worry about feeling old when I meet my midwife. This is very reassuring xx

@NopeNotTodaySucca thank you, got a long wait until half 3 lol. Nervous already though

iloveicelollies · 28/07/2021 09:26

I'm 39. Just had my third baby. All well except he was very small so had a section early at 37 weeks. That wasn't due to my age but instead to unusual placenta issues. Scores for Edwards and downs came back from NHS very low risk for us thankfully. Because of my age and early symptoms coming and going I had an early private scan around 7 weeks which was very reassuring. Good luck to all.

Cashewcookie · 28/07/2021 15:12

@Bdbel unfortunately it looks as though I’m miscarrying. Sat in a and e all morning (on advice of the maternity ward, 111 and my GP) so angry. All I need is a scan. Finally gave me one for the morning, but I know it’s bad news.

I’m completely devastated. Not sure where to go from here.

FactyFrances · 28/07/2021 15:35

@Cashewcookie I'm so sorry to hear that. It is utterly miserable. Take care of yourself xx

Bdbel · 28/07/2021 15:48

@Cashewcookie I am so sorry, i am devastated to read this is happening to you. I hope you are home and getting properly looked after. I am sorry xxx

Bdbel · 28/07/2021 19:21

Hi ladies. Feels wrong posting when others have had such a bad day but I wanted to tell you... I have a heartbeat! Measured 6weeks 1 day. I think I'm 6 weeks 3.... I'm shocked! I expected bad news but so far they are still there xx

Sunbird24 · 28/07/2021 19:46

@Cashewcookie I’m so sorry to read this, and how awful to have to sit there all morning and still have to wait for tomorrow to get a scan 😕 I hope you’re being looked after tonight Flowers

@Bdbel how lovely for you, hang on in there little bean 🤞

FactyFrances · 28/07/2021 19:53

@Bdbel Congratulations, well done you, a heartbeat is the first milestone!
Was is very clear? I'm a week behind you and debating how long I can hold out before booking a viability scan.
