We’re coming to the end of our last thread so here is, hopefully, the final instalment of our journeys. I’m going to compile a list of due dates and births from the last thread and I’ll post them below.

Hopefully we’ll have lots more baby announcements on the way! How is everyone doing?

@serenfach1 Ah okay! I’m sure we’re going to be just fine, a new little pattern and way of life will find it’s way!!

I think I was having tightenings in my sleep as I kept waking but then wondering if I was dreaming hahah But just had 2 more now ish and more show so things are defo getting underway!

Taylor1896 · 22/06/2021 05:29

@serenfach1 Aww so what date are they looking at for induction for you?

@AlRRRR eek how exciting! Good luck!

AlRRRR · 22/06/2021 05:31

@Taylor1896 Haha exciting and nerve wrecking! Is this your first? :)

Taylor1896 · 22/06/2021 05:52

@AlRRRR yeah! And have had such a dreamy pregnancy. Was hoping for home birth but everyday that gets closer to induction date, home birth feels further away.

In a few weeks none of this will matter and we will have our gorgeous babies in our arms! So excited to meet little one now

AlRRRR · 22/06/2021 05:57

@Taylor1896 Oooo I really hope you get your home birth! I was swinging between that and the local birth centre, i went with the latter as it MW led and independent from a hospital, reallllly small and have between 0-3 births a week there 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How long till they might induce you? Are you 40 weeks plus 3 did you say? You’re from
Manchester right?

Taylor1896 · 22/06/2021 06:45

@AlRRRR 40+6, from Manchester, induction at 41+5 if no labour before.

serenfach1 · 22/06/2021 08:56

@Nesski

Our boy arrived at 39+3 on Saturday. Went through all the different scenarios possible in the books aside from induction and episiotomy, didn't get my water birth although I was about to step in. Ended up with emergency c section but it's all worth it in the end... I hope Grin
@nesski congratulations! I had an emergency c-section with my son in 2019. I hope you're not feeling too sore. Eat lots of blueberries and fresh chicken soup. It's great for healing! And yes, all worth it Smile. I opted against an elective c-sec this time round but may well end up having one!
MimiDaisy11 · 22/06/2021 22:24

Hope those still waiting and going through induction etc are going well and better than mines did.

I had an emergency c-section at 5am (at exactly 42 weeks) this morning and now have a lovely son 😊 -though time has lost all meaning since I haven’t slept in so long. I started the induction process on Friday and been in hospital since Saturday Confused(hopefully leaving tomorrow!). I ended up needlessly putting myself through various invasive induction processes when I should have listened to a feeling that it wasn’t going to work and I should just have pushed for elective caesarian. It’s just so hard to know what’s best. Though luckily my c-section was a success - baby is well and I feel mobile and good.

Best wishes Flowers

Nesski · 23/06/2021 01:59

@serenfach1 thank you for your kind words, I felt like I've been put through the wringer, not sure if I could do it again...

serenfach1 · 23/06/2021 08:13

@nesski you have been put through the wringer. Don't underestimate the huge mental and physical energy it takes to grow, carry and give birth no matter how quick, long, "easy" or hard it was. And now you've got to give yourself time recover and heal all whilst tending to your baby practically 24/7. You're a wonder woman!

serenfach1 · 23/06/2021 08:16

@mimidaisy11 congratulations! Good to hear you feel mobile and good. Hope you get to nap and rest as much as is possible Smile

serenfach1 · 23/06/2021 08:28

@Nellle how are you feeling today? It certainly can change at any moment. I hope you're feeling a bit brighter today. Are you feeling mobile? A little walk and some fresh air might help lift your spirits? I'm totally with you on letting things take their course with as little intervention as possible. I think midwives like to interfere these days because they can. I'm sure sweeps and inductions weren't a thing a generation ago! Saying that I'm booked in for an induction at 41+1. Would like to go longer but I have my reasons for letting it happen then.

@Taylor1896 I've got a balloon induction booked for 26th June at 41+1. They would let me go to 41+3 but the weekend date works better for getting childcare duties covered with my family!

@AlRRRR how are you doing?

AlRRRR · 23/06/2021 08:56

Hi, I had baby at 2am, 8lb 8oz at the local birth centre after 6 hour labour!

Had to be transferred by ambulance to the hospital due to a bleed after placenta delivered, which was scary as hell but had some medications and resting and seems to be going okay! x

Taylor1896 · 23/06/2021 09:14

@AlRRRR ahhh congratulations amazing news! Rest up now mama let everyone take care of you!

PinkPlantCase · 23/06/2021 09:39

@AlRRRR congratulations!!

serenfach1 · 23/06/2021 09:44

@AIRRR ahhhhh congratulations! Hope you're being well looked after and you're able to get home once it's safe and comfortable to do so.

SantoPalo · 23/06/2021 10:07

Good morning everyone, not sure if I updated the group as everything is still sinking in. On 17th June I gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 7lb 2 via emergency c section. My partner and I are so in love with our little person. He was due on 25th June xx

AlRRRR · 23/06/2021 10:38

I freaked out a bit, i’ll be honest but yes all over with now!!

MimiDaisy11 · 23/06/2021 10:45

@AlRRRR congrats! Glad it worked out in the end. Scary moments are easy to forget if it works out well.

Sweetmad · 23/06/2021 12:42

@AIRRRR Congratulations! Rest up and enjoy those newborn snuggles xx

PurpleishDahlia · 23/06/2021 13:08

@SantoPalo congratulations on your little boy! Hope you recover nicely from the section, look after yourself :)

@AIRRRR congratulations! Wow 1 day before due date how crazy accurate was that? I'm also due tomorrow but no signs of anything happening.
Did you go for a physiological delivery of the placenta, then had a hemorrhage? Glad it's all good now. Enjoy these first days with your little girl. Are you going with the greek name you mentioned? meaning joy - in any case I hope she brings you all the joy in the world xx

AlRRRR · 23/06/2021 14:07

@PurpleishDahlia Yes hara haha

Not sure what happened except her waters didn’t break so it kinda all went together, after she was born, i waited for placenta to come out by itself and it kinda popped out with such force and then unbeknown us had blood clots so couldn’t contract back down so a dr had to manually do it after they transferred me by ambulance !

serenfach1 · 23/06/2021 15:22

@SantoPalo congratulations! Hope you're home and able to rest as much as possible to help the c-sec recovery.

Whywontitname · 23/06/2021 16:18

@Lovethatjourneyforme @Fishingforhappiness well the good nights ended abruptly last night he fed from 8-2.30 then he screamed and cried till 6am it was awful Sad

@AlRRRR Congratulations!

Sweetmad · 23/06/2021 19:52

Ladies who have had their bubba’s; have you had results of the newborn heel prick screening test? Ted had to have repeat testing due to borderline hypothyroidism. Have had the call today from Great Ormand Street Hospital and he has to go there tomorrow for repeat bloods as his TSH is high and a nuclear medicine scan on Monday to check the size of his thyroid 😔feel very overwhelmed at the moment and he also has torticollis which I’m hoping they can help with as the lump is huge. Feeling of never ending worry at the moment and I just don’t know where to turn x
