@MgW1 oh bless you, I can imagine it would be worrying! Has the doc suggested anything, or do you just need to sit tight?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ah ok, so it could literally be anything? Well that's good news... (but twins!!!!!!! Eek!) What time is your appointment tomorrow? Fingers crossed for you.

MgW1 · 09/06/2021 19:05

@Noodella18
No just said its fairly common , as long as no bleeding or nausea and worsening pain then she just go off 🤷‍♀️ also i am suffering badly with trapped wind !! Sorry tmi!! So I dont think thats helping matters. How are you doing?

Noodella18 · 09/06/2021 19:10

@MgW1 pregnancy is so glamorous hey! 😂 I'm doing fine thanks. No more bleeding which is a relief, and hcg appears to be going up, although my latest worry is that I haven't had a dye stealer yet. Latest test attached do they get darker than that or am I at the limit?! Boobs are sore and the smell of my partner frying eggs this morning revolted me. You having any symptoms other than the windypops?!

@MgW1 that must be scary. I don't understand how after three losses you haven't been referred to EPU for checks, just for reassurance. Hope you're okay. Yes it's hard to tell what cramps are wind 🙈 and what are actual cramps.

@Noodella18 that looks like a very strong line!

I don't know, I looked at some stats in a study published. Most likely is a failed pregnancy (58% or something), second most likely is a normal pregnancy (33%) and the rest is an ectopic pregnancy. We'll see

lennyunexpected · 09/06/2021 19:28

@Noodella18 that's as dark as mine have ever gone on one of those xx

MgW1 · 09/06/2021 19:36

@Noodella18
Very sore and heavy boobs like bricks 🤣 and constipation, but only early on. 6 weeks on fri x

Ready2020 · 09/06/2021 19:42

Hello, just found this thread. I was 36 when I got pregnant (this is my first) and I'm now 32 weeks and 37 years old. I was worried about being an older mum but it just didn't feel right until now. Thankfully I didn't have too much trouble conceiving but I do worry about the impact of birth on my body.

I've been pretty tired through out the pregnancy but only a few weeks of work left to go.

ImpatientTTCer · 09/06/2021 20:27

@Ready2020 welcome! You’ll be the same as me (36, 37 for birth) and I’m sure our bodies will be fine! Except for the obvious stretch marks and saggy bits 😩😂 How have you felt during the pregnancy so far?

@MgW1 I think we’ll have very similar due dates! With my ovulation date (opk and bbt) I should be 6w tomorrow (although my last period dates it as a week earlier). I’ve had some sharp pains too and I was worried, but I’ve just been told by a sonographer that unless they’re accompanied by bleeding then it’s likely to just be the uterus stretching. Would you consider an early scan in the next week or so, to potentially put your mind at ease?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 how are you feeling about everything, and your scan tomorrow?

I just had a very early scan….external couldn’t see much so we went internal, and saw a tiny white blob 😂 She seemed to think that all was well, it wasn’t ectopic and there was only one! Tiny flicker of a heartbeat, quite difficult to see. But it was there, so yay! Although….now I’m worried I’ll lose it before the 12w scan….when does this worrying stop?!

MgW1 · 09/06/2021 20:40

@ImpatientTTCer
Well thats another anxiety right there.... last time i went for a scan I was told there was no heart beat ( 12 week scan) and because of covid I was on my own so im anxious about having a scan as well!!! Im a nightmare 🤪 Apparently by 13 weeks , chances of anything going wrong are v.slim. so I have it in my head that I should go for my dating scan at 13 weeks and hopefully my husband can come too x

MgW1 · 09/06/2021 20:42

@ImpatientTTCer
I was actually reassured on google which is a first!! Says that sharp stitch like pain is common around 6 weeks and is to do with ligaments x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/06/2021 20:47

@ImpatientTTCer 6 weeks and a heartbeat, that's amazing!! You must be so relieved!
But yes I'm getting the feeling there's always something to worry about on this journey...

@MgW1 that's so tough. I don't know. Would you consider a slightly earlier private reassurance scan, as partners can go to those? Say ten weeks or something

ImpatientTTCer · 09/06/2021 20:56

@MgW1 I’ve been having all sorts of sharp pains….left ovary area, generally just between legs, sides of tummy like a stitch, under ribs…it’s so hard to know what’s “normal” and what should be worried about. I’m so sorry that your husband couldn’t join you for the scan last time, and for you to have had received bad news alone as well, that’s awful :( The current NHS guidelines are that partners are allowed into scans again, I believe, but no children.

I’m thinking I might go the complete opposite and book in loads of scans (it’s the replacement of the POAS obsession)…I think it’ll be the only way for me to stop worrying. Maybe one at 9w? Can’t really afford it but if it puts my mind at ease?

Ready2020 · 09/06/2021 21:01

@ImpatientTTCer I've felt OK really, just tired and constipated 😂 my iron levels turned out to be low at my 28 week appointment so with tablets my energy levels have improved.

I've been lucky with my pregnancy I think. She's growing well, no major issues. I work from home now which I think makes a big difference as I don't need to stress as much about getting to work. My hips have started to get sore more these days if I walk too far. My pregnancy pillow is great for sleeping with to support the hips.

Loubun38 · 09/06/2021 21:04

Hi all, I'm 38 (turned on 15th April) was due out on evening of 16th to celebrate so thought I'd test 'just in case' and low and behold a positive result!

I'm now just under 11+6 and have my first scan on Monday - so excited!
Been pretty symptom free up to this point other than incredibly sore boobs early on and terrible cramps around weeks 5-6 (put down to hormones). So just hoping all is good come Monday and I've just been lucky re symptoms!

Noodella18 · 09/06/2021 22:52

@ImpatientTTCer ahhh so pleased you had a good scan and that there was a little heartbeat 💓 I would go for the 9 week scan personally, you can't put a price on peace of mind - just resign yourself to having cheap meals like beans on toast and pasta for a week if that makes it easier to justify.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 best of luck tomorrow, sending positive vibes your way x

Noodella18 · 09/06/2021 22:54

@Loubun38 hi, welcome- ooh how exciting to have your first scan coming up!

@Ready2020 sounds like the ideal pregnancy! How are you feeling about the upcoming birth?

Noodella18 · 09/06/2021 22:58

@Ready2020 I think you're doing well to get your iron levels up before the birth. Mine were on the low side of normal when I gave birth and following a forceps delivery and post partum haemorrhage they were extremely low, down at 83 but they wouldn't give me a transfusion because the threshold was 80 - meaning a long, slow slog to build them up again whilst dealing with a newborn. This pregnancy i will definitely be keeping them topped up as far as they will go to give me a buffer in case of complications. (I was just unlucky, more women do not have post partum haemorrhage!)

MgW1 · 09/06/2021 23:22

@ImpatientTTCer
Well yes if your saving money now in not bulk buying pregnancy tests then book a scan 🤪 i may feel a but more confident in a few weeks to go for one .... il see how I feel at 9 weeks , i think thats a good time if your having an early one x

Noodella18 · 10/06/2021 14:47

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 just saw on another thread that all was OK with your scan! I'm so bloody pleased for you! I've been thinking of you all morning 🙈

My friend had a reassurance scan today at 11 weeks because her nausea had stopped abruptly at 10 weeks... turns out baby didn't have a heartbeat 😓 feel gutted for her and also kind of petrified myself, seems so incredibly common. So it's lovely to hear your news and know it can turn out ok!!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 14:58

@Noodella18 thank you so much, yes it was okay, I had kind of worked myself up into thinking it would be an ectopic. A friend had a ruptured tube and a terrible recovery.

How're you lovely? Oh no so sorry for your friend. How awful.

MgW1 · 10/06/2021 15:09

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7
Hi good news about scan , could they see anything ? Did they give you idea on dates ? X

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 15:13

@MgW1 from ovulation, I'm exactly five weeks today. She saw a sac and a yolk. My hcg had almost tripled over 43 hours. I don't think it was doing anything close to that last time (but I didn't know much about anything back then).

How're you?

Noodella18 · 10/06/2021 15:17

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I can't even imagine how nervous you were! I would have been the same. How are you feeling now? Do you think you'll do another scan before the 12 week one?

I'm okish but I feel like the morning sickness is starting. I'm not relishing the prospect, it lasted the whole 9 months with my daughter and then I threw up after every contraction in labour. I had a shit labour in general and lost loads of blood and was really poorly after. Tbh I'm actually feeling scared about everything, pregnancy, labour, newborn phase again. I know it's ungrateful, as I know so many women would kill to be in my position. I guess I got caught up in the excitement of ttc and forgot how shit I found pregnancy first time round. But anyway. Onwards and upwards. Going to find out my friend's new address so I can send some flowers. Poor thing :(

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 15:26

@Noodella18 it's definitely okay to complain and not ungrateful at all! We can be grateful and still think it's a bit shit. And where else can you complain about it if not here!

The constant nausea and vomiting and labour sounds very tough. Can you pre-empt it this time around before the first vomit sets in with some meds? You know what you're getting yourself into here, that's the downside, I'm walking around in ignorance!

I think I'll do one at 8 weeks or so, and I want a full nipt at 9 weeks.

I think that'll be lovely re: your friend

M4v3r1ck · 10/06/2021 15:34

Hey ladies just catching up! Hope you're all good! 😃

Thanks for the support/kind words for Saturday! I'm utterly terrified and praying for good news!!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@lennyunexpected I've learned all my knowledge from the 35+ TTC group here on MN! I've been TTC since end of May 2020, had a MMC, and this is me pregnant again! 🤞🏻 what about you?

@RCF2503x do you do les mills workouts at home by any chance? I like their body balance etc workouts for the "easier" workouts! 😃

Welcome @Ready2020! How exciting that you've only got a few weeks left! 😍 so glad it's all gone well!

@ImpatientTTCer yay to scan! 😍 that's amazing!

@MgW1 I agree re: weird pains etc! Tbh I think it's bloating/wind for me! 🙈😂 I've also heard blood circulation increases all around there, so could be muscles moving etc?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Loubun38 welcome and congratulations! 🤞🏻 for Monday! Keep us posted! 😃

@Noodella18 oh gosh that's awful re your friend! 😔😔😔 that's my fear!!! Oh no, sorry to hear your previous pregnancy was rough! Hopefully you'll have an easier/better time this time! 🤞🏻

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yay that's fantastic and what a relief! 😍
