Hey! Nice to see some new names and some familiar names! 😍 Welcome and congratulations! 😃

Hoping for healthy happy pregnancies all round for us! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Noodella18 glad to hear things are better and still progressing well! 😃

@ImpatientTTCer yeah, after MMC at Christmas, I just wanted to let our parents and siblings know now, just in case! But hopefully it'll be fab news for us all! I do feel relieved on that front, but still having to dodge vaccine questions from friends and colleagues! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Katiekattty sorry to hear that you don't get along with your in laws! You in the process of moving house then?

How are you all feeling about socialising? Ive been feeling generally tired, nauseous and bloaty, but at the same time, I worry that I can't keep being a hermit, as I'm known for being very sociable! But now I'm pregnant, I'm overly worried about being out now due to covid, coupled with lying about the vaccine! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🙃

We’re putting our house up sale this week and then we need to start looking for a house once we have a buyer.

I’m socialising with the same little bubble of people. Trying to avoid anywhere too vision. I should be going into to London to see friends but I’ll put it off until vaccination. I think I’ll do mainly outdoors things this summer but I don’t see myself out much in the winter.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/06/2021 16:46

@M4v3r1ck and @Katiekattty I am socialising as normal, and live and work in London, I think as vaccinations ramp up it's getting to be okay (for me). Many of my friends are similar age to me so have been vaccinated. I am struggling with the not drinking in front of people though, as I normally really enjoy a few drinks and I think it stands out that I'm nursing a glass of wine (which my partner is drinking when no-ones looking). Any tips for this? Especially at other people's houses

TTCat39 · 07/06/2021 18:48

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 If you can bear to drink it - surreptitiously swap your glass of wine with a glass of non-alcoholic wine you smuggle into your friend's house in your bag. Either get your OH to neck the glass of wine, or chuck it in the bushes/loo, whatever works! I've got a close friend's birthday coming up, when I'll just have turned 12 weeks. My NHS dating scan isn't until I'm 13+2, so I'm going to pay for one a week earlier, just for reassurance, then I'm going to confide in my friend. I can't be bothered with fibbing any more - I'm too knackered to keep up with it 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/06/2021 19:07

I didn't mind Nosecco! It's just they're quite into wine, and so we tend to share bottles and it's totally obvious I've got something different 😂🙈

I'll wait til I've had an early scan in a week or two and of all's okay with that I'll tell people then as I see them

ImpatientTTCer · 07/06/2021 19:13

@TTCat39 great minds think alike! My hen do is 3 days before my 12 week scan….will book a private scan the week before! Otherwise I’ll be dodging the alcohol all day, and they’re my closest female friends so I’ll want them to know!

TTCat39 · 07/06/2021 19:38

@ImpatientTTCer Oh yes definitely the way to go for your celebration - you want to be able to relax and enjoy it!

My mum is a wine drinker and I had similar with hiding / swapping drinks etc in the early weeks. Honestly it was a massive weight off my mind when I told her I was pregnant!

I narrowly escaped a meal with some other relatives the other day where they were cooking liver in brandy! I mean, could there be a more inappropriate dish?! 😆 I actually would have loved that before I was pregnant, which they know, so I've been emailed the recipe and I only just managed to stop them from saving me some! Sorry to all those with nausea, I think you'd probably rather not read about offal! Strangely I am fine with meats, it's vegetables I'm struggling with.

lennyunexpected · 07/06/2021 19:52

Hi everyone Smile

Hope you're all enjoying your pregnancies.

I'm almost 37 and I'm 10weeks 4 days.

I had a silent miscarriage last year and if this one goes to term it'll be my first.

Anyone else completely riddled with anxiety about symptoms not appearing/appearing/disappearing and reappearing? Nothing ever seems to be happening at the right time according to these guides you read online Confused

RCF2503x · 07/06/2021 20:10

I had my first taste of socialising whilst pregnant over the weekend. I pretended I had a water infection so couldn't drink! It's definitely going to be tricky keeping it a secret over the coming weeks! I don't think i'm stealth enough!

I feel a little better about socialising now as I have had both my jabs and a lot of my friends and family have too.

I'm thinking of telling my parents and siblings this weekend. I will be just over 5 weeks, so I know its early, but we're so excited to let them know. Its my first pregnancy so I'm not sure whether I should be waiting a bit longer or not. I would definitely tell them before 12 weeks. I work in a hospital so I have had to let some of my work colleagues know. It feels strange telling them before my family.

I have just sent off my forms to register with the midwife. Looking forward to getting a booking in appointment sorted!

Hope you are all doing well symptom wise. My main one seems to be tiredness. Ready to drop as soon as I get in from work! X

I told my family and a few of my friends as soon as I found out (both times). My partner was keener to keep it between us for a little longer but I knew I'd need their support if I miscarried so it didn't make sense for me to keep it to myself. And I'm rubbish at keeping secrets Grin
A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/06/2021 20:30

@ImpatientTTCer that's exciting about your hen!

@lennyunexpected yes I worry too, I also had a miscarriage last year and had no clue. Didn't start properly bleeding until a couple weeks after. So lots of boob jiggling and knocker checking going on over here, and things are fluctuating. Have you had extra reassurance scans?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/06/2021 20:33

@RCF2503x I told my family and close friends at 5-6 weeks last time, it didn't work out, but I was glad they knew

I found out about the miscarriage at a 10 week scan but it hadn't progressed beyond 7 weeks. I didn't even know silent miscarriage was a thing. I think it might have messed me up a little bit because I'm convinced it has happened almost every day and even a lack of blood or cramping doesn't reassure me.

I went for a reassurance scan at 7 weeks and it looked ok but was worried about obsessing over them and made a decision not to get any more until the NHS one.

It would be nice to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. So excited about things like names and cute clothes but then have to pinch myself x

Ooohlalaura · 07/06/2021 21:08

@lennyunexpected very anxious here too. No particularly strong symptoms except difficulty staying asleep and fatigue but also think that could be with overthinking ?? Literally counting down the days. I’ll be 36 when I have this baby and it will also be my first x

lennyunexpected · 07/06/2021 21:24

@Ooohlalaura have you got much longer to go? X

RCF2503x · 07/06/2021 21:26

@lennyunexpected @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thank you, that makes me feel better about sharing the news early.

Exciting about your hen @ImpatientTTCer. Do you think you could ask them to bring your 12 week scan a little earlier?

I'm very similar @Ooohlalaura. No strong symptoms other than trouble sleeping and fatigue. Did have an achey lower back last week but that's settled now. I am still testing every day. Feel I may need to step away from the sticks soon! It is so reassuring seeing 2 lines though!

How does everyone feel about exercise atm? I would usually do something like an online workout or a run (some weeks better than others!), but I'm nervous about doing anything like that at the moment x

lennyunexpected · 07/06/2021 21:31

@RCF2503x It's your news :) I'd share it whenever and with whoever I wanted :)

I was learning to run and walking lots but since I found out I feel completely wiped. And my anxiety has made me a little anxious to leave the house. Ive put on a good few lbs and feel like I'm walking through treacle. I'm looking forward to getting back out there. I think of you feel able and your doctor is ok with it then go for it x

Queenie6655 · 07/06/2021 21:40

Hello lovely people

Can I join??

Hope it's ok
So I'm 8 weeks today
Baby number two
Been nauseous all day every day
Fell over twice at the weekend 😳😳😳

Apart from that all is ok
Not heard from MW yet
Went to doctor three weeks ago

Also I got to London for work from Dublin once per fortnight
Nit sure when I should give this up??

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/06/2021 23:21

Welcome @Queenie6655 sorry to hear you've been not feeling good this pregnancy. I'm not sure about London, it's a short flight, so would assume you can do it for as long as you feel up to it

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/06/2021 23:24

Has anyone been constipated and (tmi 🙈) had a little pale pink discharge after going for a no.2? Tiny bit on one wipe, but feeling a bit worried. I'm very early, 5 weeks, or 18 dpo.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/06/2021 06:06

I took this test to check this morning, and the test line has stolen even more dye from the control line than when I last tested two days ago

Tiredandobsessed · 08/06/2021 09:18

Hi everyone, please can I join? I'm almost 37 & 5 weeks pregnant today with our first. It's been a long & complicated journey to get here but here I am. My only real symptom is hunger, literally could eat all day every day and a little bloating (but that could be all the food 🐷), feel really anxious that I've no other symptoms, I know its early and noone really wants ms or pain but it just doesn't feel real yet. Speaking to the GP on Thursday as I was waiting surgery for an ovarian abscess so hoping they'll offer an early scan to monitor that but if not I'll book a reassurance scan. Going to tell our parents on father's Day as we thought that would be nice then a couple of friends after that who have been by my side so far and I'm desperate to tell them. Would be really good to have people in the same situation as me to talk to though x

M4v3r1ck · 08/06/2021 09:36

Welcome and congratulations newbies! 😍

Good luck with the house sale @Katiekattty 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I take it you can't always be "the designated driver"? I get the worst hangovers ever, so I've been playing on that a lot and just telling people I can't risk that...

@TTCat39 the fibbing is so exhausting isn't it! 🤣 omg liver in brandy! 🤣🙈 I agree that vegetables are the most yuck thing for me!

@lennyunexpected I feel you! 😘 I'm so anxious and negative! It's not like me at all. But it's only natural given what we've been through previously. I just try to remember to treat this as a new pregnancy, fresh start, and remember that every pregnancy is different so the symptoms won't always follow the textbook! 😃

@RCF2503x I'm usually so good at exercising but been hit with a fair bit of fatigue and nausea these past few weeks, so totally fallen by the wayside! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I've just been trying to get a nice long walk every day. Hoping to start swimming and yoga again soon! What's your usual workout plans? I know midwives aren't overly keen on high intensity stuff unless you do it all the time!

@Tiredandobsessed id imagine they will want to keep an eye on that! 🤔 Have you spoken to a midwife?

Also, I've decided to book a reassurance scan for Saturday now! I know I wasn't going to, but we decided it might be best for my mental health! Got so much 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hope you're all having good days! 😘

@M4v3r1ck I live in London so sadly no driving excuses! I don't mind, I'll tell people in a couple weeks I reckon, if I make it to then.

I called the GP about the pink spotting hoping she'd tell me it was nothing, and not to worry. But given previous history she's booked me in with EPU this afternoon. Feeling pretty apprehensive about it
