@zonedoutallnight
Is it because of bmi that its been prescribed ? My bmi has tipped over into overweight but I have put weight on in the pregnancy but the other risks were my age ( 38) and family history of blood clots. Feel fat , old and knackered 😄!! X

zonedoutallnight · 14/12/2021 16:35

@MgW1 I got all the reasons Confused high bmi, 39yo, and previous baby sga (small for gestational age) which led to them finding a uterine artery issue which means that blood flow to the uterus was/is restricted. Having regular growth scans and so far they've been positive - had a scan last week and baby was slight bigger than they expected which is a good thing I think as it means the clexane is working. So I think that's helping my mindset on it as well - I'm not just taking it for myself but to help the baby grow better.

Although it had gone from being head down at me previous scan to being breech on the most recent one! Here's hoping it turns back around before the next one!

@zonedoutallnight thank you, I’m okay, just feeling a bit foolish and bruised 😅

Have any of you, in previous or in this pregnancy, had a weird growth scan? Mine is showing that femur length is now third centile (so small) compared to a 97 percentile abdomen. I have GD so the abdomen isn’t a surprise, but I’m wondering if it could be some kind of asymmetrical IUGR. Especially as I have low Papp A. But don’t know much about it.

zonedoutallnight · 14/12/2021 17:03

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've not had that. What were they on previous growth scans? Or is this the first? It sounds like an extreme difference but if you had a previous measurement to compare it to maybe it would make more sense. I take it that they double checked the measurements? Did they not discuss it with you? I'm always booked in with the dr straight after my scans.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/12/2021 19:09

@zonedoutallnight I mean he’s never had the longest legs but 3% now seems pretty small. It’s not massively off curve I don’t think, as looking through all my scans they’ve been at the lower end of the curve. I have a fetal medicine appointment later this week now they’ve hit the 3rd centile. So far though they said they don’t see any signs of skeletal dysplasia as everything else looks good, and I had the NIPT so they don’t think chromosomal. So from googling, I’m wondering if my placental function is poor maybe 🤷‍♀️

How’s everyone getting along? Looking forward to Christmas?

zonedoutallnight · 14/12/2021 19:37

I hope your FM appointment goes well and you get some answers.

I have 3 days left to work and then I'm on mat leave. I cannot wait. It's getting harder by the day. So I'm counting down to Friday and then I'm going to start wrapping presents and feeling properly Christmassy. It is 100% my favourite time of year. Give me Christmas over summer every time.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/12/2021 20:01

@zonedoutallnight that sounds great, lovely to have some time off before! It is getting tougher and more tiring now

MgW1 · 14/12/2021 20:28

@zonedoutallnight
I am so glad the jabs are working and the baby's growth is fine. Mine is on 50th percentile. My other 2 were average. My daughter was 7.5 at 40 weeks and my son was 6lbs at 37weeks, so I think this one will be similar ish. I am really excited but anxious about the birth as I was before ... hopefully it will be quick. How long do you have left before due date? I finish work at 36 weeks.

zonedoutallnight · 14/12/2021 20:49

I'm 33 weeks but had my previous children at 38weeks and 36 weeks so I am thinking in my head 5 weeks to go at the most! Even though really it's 7 weeks left. I have convinced myself it'll be here mid Jan. probably foolish of me because this baby has so far been different in absolutely every possible way.

Blimey I hope it's not 36 weeks again - only having 3 weeks left would not be long enough to get everything sorted! I'd better start thinking about a hospital bag...

MgW1 · 14/12/2021 22:09

@zonedoutallnight
I am thinking about at the practical stuff after Xmas... same here , will probably go over this time!!!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/12/2021 11:09

@MgW1 50th percentile for everything sounds ideal!

We’re you both induced early before or babies just turned up early out of the blue?

MgW1 · 15/12/2021 13:07

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7
No my waters just went both times. Both mine were back to back and I think your waters tend to go first when they are like that , contractions started at least 12 hrs after with both... might be different this time with more room in there !!

zonedoutallnight · 15/12/2021 14:19

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 both times it just started when my waters went - and then it was pretty quick from start to finish. 7 hours for my first and just 3 for the second! I was a lot younger and fitter then but I'm optimistic for another short labour/delivery.

Although slightly worried if it's icy/snowy weather in jan that we might not get to the hospital in time if it's that fast again by the time someone gets here to look after the children and then we get to set off.

MgW1 · 15/12/2021 19:24

@zonedoutallnight
The journey to the hospital has crossed my mind as well.. I'm about 30 mins drive, I won't be hanging about waiting , I'd rather just get there and there is a Costa at least if its within trading hours!!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/12/2021 12:33

@zonedoutallnight and @MgW1 can absolutely see why you’d want to get to the hospital ASAP and wait around in Costa etc rather than leave it too late! That sounds amazingly quick

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/12/2021 12:36

Had my FMU scan yesterday and they think everything is okay, no evidence of skeletal issues or problems, and just I may have some asymmetrical growth restriction that they will monitor. Baby was almost 5lb at 32 weeks, and they want to make sure he keeps growing. So I have a scan every two weeks now, in induction between 37 and 38 weeks

MgW1 · 16/12/2021 15:55

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7
That's great news and a healthy weight. I bet baby will be around 7lbs mark then by 37 weeks which is good . I think my boy will be around 7.5 average, I have bought quite a lot of new born stuff , new born used to be up to 9lbs but in some stores its 7.5 lbs now x

Xanthes · 16/12/2021 17:19

Hello! I’d like to join this thread :). I am 38 years old and hopefully expecting my second child. I have a son who is turning 4 in March. Me and my husband have been trying for a year, and I just got a BFP a couple of days ago. I tested positive two days before expected period, today is one day after. And I started to have symptoms like aching breasts and a little morning sickness already a week before expected period..! I got a bit of ache in my lower back and hips yesterday and it is like I already has a “pregnancy brain” and has become more forgetful..! With my son in my first pregnancy, these things came later, about another 3 weeks from now.

I really want this little seed to stay and grow, and I am so happy we finally succeeded, I had started to think that it was too late for me.
My estimated due date is August the 24th, so it is really early. But I actually already told my parents and my sister, as I saw someone else did in the thread ;D. I am just so happy and excited.

zonedoutallnight · 16/12/2021 20:28

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that sounds like really positive news. Glad they've investigated and are happy. Do you have a planned date for induction now then? A month or so to go?

@Xanthes congratulations on your news and welcome

zonedoutallnight · 16/12/2021 20:32

In other news covid has hit our house this week. DD tasted positive and is out of isolation on 24th dec. now we are waiting to find out if DH has it or not - if he does that's our plans for Christmas over. Although part of me thinks if he gets it now at least he'll be better in time for the birth. He's been triple jabbed since October so should be ok I hope.

I'm ok so far but had my booster jab booked for Monday and may not be able to go. My second dose was 6 months ago on New Year's Day so a bit worried about the waning immunity thing. Just hoping I don't get it again. We all had it in November last year pre vaccine. Feel like we've had our fair share already.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/12/2021 23:39

@zonedoutallnight oh my gosh so sorry, last thing you need right now especially right before Christmas. I really really hope you manage to avoid it. And the others don’t feel too poorly with it.

I missed one of your messages above about growth scans sorry, I’m so pleased baby is bigger than expected, that’s really fab.

@MgW1 I’m totally clueless about how all of this stuff is calculated but 7.5 lbs sounds like a good weight! Hopefully your newborn stuff goes up a bit larger then 😅

Katiekattty · 17/12/2021 00:01

@zonedoutallnight that’s rubbish. It seems like nearly everyone lately is getting covid. Hopefully it’s negative test for your DH.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 great news about the scan

@MgW1 I bought all 0-3mths and 2 newborn outfits because I kept being told I was measuring big. He wasn’t even 6lbs at my 36wk scan only 5lbs 6oz. And size difference between Next and Tesco is huge. So is my M&S stuff.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/12/2021 10:03

@Katiekattty I only have two newborn outfits also, figure I can always roll up the sleeves a tiny bit or otherwise nip and buy some more if he’s a lot smaller 😂

@Xanthes welcome and congrats!

@Misty84 how’re you getting on? Are you still feeling well?

Misty84 · 17/12/2021 10:41

I am ok thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7! These first weeks are obviously a very anxious time, it’s taken so long to get here and I’m scared of it all being taken away at any moment!

I’m 7+6 today and we had an early scan a few days ago where we saw the heartbeat which was the most wondrous thing ever!!
I just can’t wait to get to the second trimester🤞

How are you?? Xx

Katiekattty · 17/12/2021 11:29

Well my waters have broken!!! All station panic, haven’t packed properly we’re still in boxes in the new house. And my husband is on his way from work in London.
