@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 we’ve started the process on the second house. I’m hoping that because the stamp duty holiday as ended that the searches will come through quite quickly. Our buyers need to be in at the end of month. So keeping my fingers crossed. I’d like to have moved by my 36wk appointment.

zonedoutallnight · 29/10/2021 14:31

Sounds like a stressful time. We moved house with a 3 month old and swore we would never move again. Hope you get in before baby arrives! If everyone is committed to get in before Christmas you might be ok.

zonedoutallnight · 29/10/2021 14:34

In fact @Katiekattty we ended up moving out for a week (in with my parents) so our buyers could get in before our onward purchase finally went through. We were desperate to get out at the time. I'd completely forgotten that whole thing. Not sure what we would have done if our purchase had fallen through through.

Katiekattty · 29/10/2021 14:38

@zonedoutallnight we might have to do the same but I’m hoping we don’t need to. Our seller is getting a probate property and she’s happy to move as soon as. So fingers x, I’ve said I won’t move after the 36wk because I may need a ELCS.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/10/2021 15:04

@Katiekattty very stressful! I did this (not pregnant and not with a baby) and ended up packing and moving all our stuff into storage and then back out again 😬 However my neighbour got a company to come in and pack hers all up for her, put it in storage, and then move it all into the right rooms of the new house once it was ready and she said that was amazing. All she had to do was pack a suitcase. We are looking at moving atm, but will def pay (a lot) extra for this this time around either heavily pregnant or with a newborn

Katiekattty · 29/10/2021 15:12

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 we’re definitely having the movers do all the work. I’ve said to my DH, that we need finish packing by the end of the November because I don’t see myself being able to do much after, I feel so heavy and bending is challenging. We did pack most of the house already, we were supposed to exchange the last week of September. I’m just making up a box to label baby stuff in our bedroom. So I can find his stuff easily when the time comes.

zonedoutallnight · 04/11/2021 20:41

How's everyone getting on?

My GTT came back normal which is good. Had flu and whooping cough vaccines this week so both my arms are killing me which is making sleeping on my side a bit of a challenge.

On the bright side this little one is wriggling away something chronic a lot of the time which is really lovely.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/11/2021 11:34

@zonedoutallnight sorry for the delay. Glad your GTT went well! All good here thanks, except my GD meant I had to cancel a couple of trips as couldn't get a fit to fly. On the plus side, that's a lot of money saved for baby things though!

How's everyone else getting along?

zonedoutallnight · 14/11/2021 18:35

I have to start clexane injections this week and I'm absolutely dreading it. I'm such a wimp about needles the thought of it is really miserable.

Anyone else suffering with me? This what I get for being old and fat I guess...

Also the dr said to do it at 10pm but I'm normally in bed and asleep by 9. Do I really have to stay up late to punish myself further? Trying not to think about the scary warnings about potential bleeding too. It's all just getting on top of me tonight.

Katiekattty · 14/11/2021 18:58

@zonedoutallnight I’m right there with you. I’m definitely losing weight after this pregnancy. I’ve been on Fragmin since 28wks and it’s awful. My legs are covered in bruises and I look like a pin cushion considering that I’m black that’s an achievement. Someone mentioned to trying to give my self daily incentives to take it. So I have a chocolate or a biscuit after each injection. I hope clexane doesn’t sting as much as Fragmin. I’m too big to get the sides of my legs now so DH as to do it.

zonedoutallnight · 14/11/2021 19:05

Ah @Katiekattty bruises? That doesn't sound fun! I'm going to make my DH do it as he works in the nhs so has done injections and cannulas and things at work. Then I can also be cross and grumpy with him for hurting me...

Mines got to go in my belly I think not my thigh - is that the place they say with fragmin?

A reward is a good idea but not sure what I'll choose - I get heartburn if I eat late at night!

Katiekattty · 14/11/2021 19:16

@zonedoutallnight Fragmin can go either in your belly or thighs. I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of doing it in my belly but I alternate each leg daily. Plus I think at this stage 32+5 you have switch to your thighs anyway. It will be a lot better having someone who has done it before to do your injections. We’ve finally got to the point where I’m not in agony after each injection but it still stings. The annoying thing is if I do need an ELCS other people seem to have to carry on the injections for another 6 weeks or less.

zonedoutallnight · 17/11/2021 17:53

I have been back at the midwife today. Got glucose showing up in my urine so they're testing my blood to look at the long term glucose levels in case I do have GD after all. I don't know whether I'm coming or going!

DH has been doing a good job of the clexane jabs though - so much better having someone to do it for me there's no way I could bring myself to do it.

How's everyone else going?

Misty84 · 18/11/2021 10:46

Got my BFP yesterday, after 2.5yrs trying, I have finally graduated from the TTC group!

Sooo lovely to see some familiar names here😃, I hope you remember me! I’ve been stuck there for a very long time 😂 xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/11/2021 14:16

@Katiekattty and @zonedoutallnight sorry you’re having such a rough time with the jabs. Sounds awful. How much longer do you have to go? I’m on insulin now, so feeling you with all the needles each day, and can’t even have a biscuit as a reward 😂 Hoping to be induced in 7 weeks.

@Misty84 know I congratulated you on the other thread, but just wanted to say HUGE CONGRATS again! How far along are you, and will you get a private scan soon?

Katiekattty · 25/11/2021 14:28

@Misty84 congrats, so very pleased for you.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’ve got 6 weeks to go but I think it will be earlier because I may need an ELCS. I find out in two weeks. Ughhh apparently you have to keep taking Fragmin for a couple weeks after an ELCS so I don’t even have an end date to look forward to with the injections. But at least it feels like the end is near now. I’ve just been sent an appointment to see an aesthetician next week.

Anyone else started packing their hospital bags? I’m washing baby clothes today. Normally I wouldn’t bother but I had really sensitive skin as a child and my skin is so sensitive in this pregnancy, better safe than sorry.

zonedoutallnight · 25/11/2021 20:44

@Misty84 congratulations and welcome! Hope it is all going smoothly for you so far.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm 30 weeks at the moment but previous experience is making me think I'll be going early with this one as well - I'm predicting mid January but will actually be surprised if I make it that far.

I've unpacked some of the big items this week - assembled the pram, checked the car seat and figured out how to use it properly. Maybe a bit early but I feel better knowing it's sorted. Probably going to get the crib etc out this weekend.

@Katiekattty you weren't kidding about the bruises! There's some right corkers on my belly now but the one bonus is at least they don't hurt like proper bruises when I press them. It is definitely a blessing that DH has been happy to do my injections - I just shut my eyes and sing to myself until it's over and it's bearable (I know I'm a bit pathetic but I hate needles)

I've started with pgp in the last couple of weeks too which has been as much fun as a kick in the crotch. Work have made some accommodations for me so I'm based on the ground floor and I've started to manage the pain a bit better so hopefully it'll stay at a manageable level and not get worse! The things we go through!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/11/2021 12:29

@zonedoutallnight oh you and I are the same, I’m 30 weeks also. Thinking I’ll be induced within 7 weeks, so have also got some things ready, washed all my clothes, put up furniture and cot etc. Possibly too early, but better than having piles of stuff and boxes lying around - I hate clutter and our place is too small to have a lot of it 😂

Katiekattty · 26/11/2021 13:29

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that’s miles better than me having everything done last minute. By the time I’ve moved house gotten everything ready for the baby, I’ll be too tired to have a baby.

I’m just exhausted now. I got 34weeks and it’s like my body is saying. We’re done, I’ve had enough.

Misty84 · 26/11/2021 13:56

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’m so sorry to hear about the struggles you’ve been having! I’m only 5 weeks and I’ve booked a scan for 7 weeks.

Thank you @Katiekattty and @zonedoutallnight. You ladies are so far ahead of me! Hope you manage to get through you final weeks ok, I bet it’s been a marathon!

Pamparam · 26/11/2021 14:26

I’m so chuffed to see you here @Misty84 - good luck with the first scan! ❤️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/11/2021 14:28

@Misty84 that’s exciting!! I was so so happy for you when I saw but didn’t want to make a big deal on the other thread. It’s okay, I had a very good first and second trimester, and even now I can do everything and go to work etc so it’s not too bad!

@Katiekattty wellllll you have a very good excuse with the moving etc/ not knowing if you can move!

Misty84 · 26/11/2021 14:48

Aww thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 and @Pamparam! Yeah gotta keep the excitement reigned in on the TTC thread, it’s so hard for everyone there😔 (including me until last week!) xx

ImpatientTTCer · 28/11/2021 06:23

Omg @Misty84 congratulations!! Your head must be spinning!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I am so happy for you, and really hope all goes well ❤️ Have you a scan booked yet?! (Being paranoid I did one just before 6 weeks, then again at 8…NHS at 12, private again at 16, 2x NHS at 20, then a private gender scan at 22 and a 4D scan at 29 🙄)

I’ve been lurking so long on here that everyone has probably forgotten me 😂 Hope you’re all well?! Are we expecting any babies soon?

I’m 31w now and can’t wait for the pregnancy to end (although not sure this means I’ll get the sleep I’m so desperately in need of….?!) and yet petrified at the idea of keeping a tiny human alive. Oh, and labour. That sounds fun!

zonedoutallnight · 04/12/2021 17:59

Seems like there's a few of us due around the same time I think.
I have another growth scan booked for Wednesday- my last one put it on exactly the 50% mark which was good so hoping for more of the same this week.
I'm just exhausted today though. Still got two weeks to work before I start mat leave but I'm done in already feel like a zombie.

And today I've started to worry about the baby actually arriving and all the germs that everyone will have. Never bothered me really with my older children but I guess covid has done a number on my mindset. You think it'd be reasonable to ask visitors to wear a mask if they're holding the baby?
