@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 good luck with the GD test. I hope it was negative. Xx

Catconfusion · 24/10/2021 07:49

Hi everyone, just a quick update from me. Yesterday we had a gender scan and found out we’re having a little girl. Our 18 month old boy will make the best big brother. We’re in our 40s and this is our last baby so we’re so relieved everything is ok and baby is looking healthy. We got a 4d picture and baby looked so cute snuggled up in there. I’m 17 weeks now and looking forward to getting my 20 week scan done. I hope you’re all getting on ok. Xx

catconfusion how exciting and so many congratulations , it’s so wonderful all well and 3D scans look very exciting. Xx

Katiekattty · 24/10/2021 10:38

@Catconfusion congrats, I’m so pleased for you.

How’s everyone doing? I’m 30weeks on Tuesday and I’ve definitely crossed over to feeling really uncomfortable now. Counting down the weeks. I woke up to phone call from my DH whose away for a few days saying he’s ordered the pram bundle. So that’s one more thing off the list.

Catconfusion · 25/10/2021 06:43

Thanks @TillyDevon they do a little sneak peak at Window to the Womb. I think so you book a full one for later on. It was the best picture we got. The others were awful. Not sure if it’s because my bump has got so big. At least they could see enough to confirm the sex. Xx

Catconfusion · 25/10/2021 06:45

@Katiekattty congratulations on getting to 20 weeks. How exciting! Lovely to have the pram ordered and feel a bit more ready.

Not so bad here thanks. Really excited about having a daughter. However the sickness has returned and I’m getting a lot of joint aches and pains. This baby is kicking my ass. It’s a good job they’re worth it in the end. Xx

Catconfusion · 25/10/2021 07:37

@Katiekattty I meant 30 weeks!

Katiekattty · 25/10/2021 08:18

@Catconfusion I know exactly what you mean. Sickness returned for me for a few weeks but it’s gone now. Now I have smaller means because there just isn’t room. I had no idea how hard this was going to be on my body. I keep singing ‘final countdown’ in my head.

Pamparam · 25/10/2021 10:44

That's amazing @Catconfusion, congrats on your daughter!

I caved on a private scan (also at Window to the Womb!) and all is looking good so far 🤞

Glad it's all good news so far on here, GTT test disgustingness aside!!

Gummybear17 · 25/10/2021 17:11

Congratulations on your little girl @Catconfusion ! I had my 20 week scan today and my little one looks good 😊

Catconfusion · 25/10/2021 17:15

Bless you @Katiekattty it’s definitely tough. I won’t be going through it now I have a second on the way. It definitely surprised me how tough it was. You’ve got to the final stretch now so hopefully the run up to Christmas will break it up. Xx

Catconfusion · 25/10/2021 17:16

Thanks @Pamparam how many weeks are you now? So pleased all is well. I was really impressed with WTTW for my gender scan. They were fantastic. Xx

Catconfusion · 25/10/2021 17:17

Thanks @Gummybear17 snd I’m so pleased your 20 week scan went well. It’s all so nerve wracking but worth it in the end. Xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/10/2021 15:24

@Catconfusion lovely you're having a girl and all is looking well! Congrats!

@Pamparam brilliant news on the early scan!

I unfortunately did have gestational diabetes. Have my little blood test monitor thing. Had a GD diet lunch of veg soup with a portion of cooked beans and cheese, and just did my reading and even after that it's high 😢 so not sure diet and exercise will control it for me. We'll see with more readings I guess.

Hope everyone else is doing well! I've started shopping for the cot bed etc, hearing there are delivery delays. We got the Stokke, which goes from baby to ten years old, and can wheel around from room to room. Looking forward to getting stuff ready now

Room4onemore · 26/10/2021 17:05

Hi ladies, I’m 39 and I’m 33+4. I’m having growth scans every 4 weeks due to a slow growing baby before and a late loss at 20 weeks. We are having a little girl and I’m due the 10th December

Katiekattty · 26/10/2021 18:01

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 there seems to delays from direct suppliers. I’ve been ordering the the bigger things from Kiddie Kingdom and the delivery has been really good. We got £50 for 6-10 delivery for the Pram bundle. DH ordered it on Sunday and should have been delivered next week, we got an email saying delivery tomorrow.

Katiekattty · 26/10/2021 18:04

Hi @Room4onemore I almost wish this baby would come in December. I’m feeling so uncomfortable already at 30weeks. Although I may need to have a ELCS so he might come in December anyway.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/10/2021 19:48

@Katiekattty yeah ironically everywhere said 6-8 weeks, and yet I just had a message saying the cot is actually going to be delivered tomorrow! Our washable rug is 3 weeks late however and still not been dispatched from Europe...

Pram I was hoping to wait til Black Friday but might then have no pram 😂

zonedoutallnight · 26/10/2021 19:54

I went out at the weekend and bought the pram, car seat and a bedside crib - just with all the delivery delays on every day items I didn't fancy leaving it too long in case it started affecting this sort of thing too. Might have been overly concerned since I now have 4 huge boxes sat in the living room and nowhere to actually put them! Oops.

zonedoutallnight · 26/10/2021 19:55

Hi @Room4onemore - hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Katiekattty · 26/10/2021 20:42

@zonedoutallnight we’re in the same boat with the boxes. We’re in conveyancing hell as the house we were buying the sale fell through. I think I’ll just check that everything is in the boxes tomorrow and seal them back up. I’m praying that the new house conveyancing comes through before I give birth.

Room4onemore · 26/10/2021 20:54

Has anybody bought the snoozepod 4? It’s in my basket to order on Friday just wondered what people thought about it

zonedoutallnight · 29/10/2021 09:55

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 you're right about that drink! Absolutely rank. Hope that you get to grips with managing it ok. I'm on my two hour wait now trying to keep myself occupied.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/10/2021 14:10

@Katiekattty oh no really sorry to hear about the conveyancing hell! Are you close to the second house going through?

@Room4onemore I did look at those temporary baby cots, but my sister and friends said they are only suitable up to six months, is that right? In actual fact due to baby size, my sisters baby only fitted in it for two months, and my best friends baby has outgrown their first cot at just under 4 months. So they told us not to bother with them. We went for the Stokke cot bed after hearing that just because it's expandable when the baby grows and can be wheeled around easily to a different room. But it's small for newborn size so fits easily in the room.

@zonedoutallnight oh no yeah it's really yuk isn't it! Good luck for your results

zonedoutallnight · 29/10/2021 14:18

Feeling much better for some lunch that's for sure! I've not gone for a snooze pod but have got similar with a next2me crib. Went for that instead of a Moses basket. My previous children outgrew Moses baskets by 3 months whereas these are definitely more spacious. Ended up with the full size cot next to the bed from 3 to 6 months with my second which was hard work. Depends how long you want to keep them in your bedroom with you.

Will probably use a travel cot or carrycot from the pram (or my arms for cuddles) downstairs during the day.

I think everyone is different and it just depends what suits your lifestyle and home. We aren't bothering to decorate the nursery until this baby is ready to move out
