Hi ladies. I couldn't find a new thread for us after ours maxed out already, so I have started another up. How is everyone doing?
@GummyBear2022 great all looks good. Did they give a reason for booking you in for another?
I got my date for my first in yday, I will be 11wks 5dsys, I did think this was quite early. I wasn't expecting it to 12/13wks.
Yeah, it was too early at 11 weeks to do all of the tests and measurements as my baby is still a bit small. My periods weren't regular before so the dates were a bit off when they booked me in for this first scan

osmo18 · 15/06/2021 07:18

@NightDreaming I'm 11 weeks and starting to show, I was quite slim before pregnancy and now I just look round at the front and a bit bloated, can't tell unless you catch me at an angle though!

@L1ttleb1t I didn't have any contact from my midwife either I constantly had to phone and chase them. I eventually done my notes at 9 weeks and then I didn't hear anything for my scan so I phoned the local hospital who confirmed Rbs midwife hadn't booked me in. Called the midwife back and coincidentally she was doing it just as I phoned. Keep chasing if you don't hear anything or ask to swap midwives

L1ttleb1t · 15/06/2021 08:48

@osmo18 That's a bit rubbish for you, having to do the chasing. I'm suspicious as it's the same midwives as my first pregnancy and they were pretty flakey then. They have a contact number but it's voicemail only - if you want to speak to someone you have to call the acute hospital EPU, which seems odd. I've left a message and will see what happens. I just have a massively stacked work diary for the next few weeks and need to know when to clear for the booking appt as some of it will be difficult to move at short notice. I know that seems like a small concern in the grand scheme of things.

Meanwhile... anyone else going to be at 8.30pm.... I'm so knackered I can't keep my eyes open.

@GummyBear2022 thanks.. that's good to know.. I'll expect similar then!

osmo18 · 15/06/2021 19:58

Warning TMI -
yesterday morning I noticed brown watery discharge when I went to the toilet first thing, and this evening I have just came home from the gym and got two very small red stains in my underwear. First thing we done was panic so my partner "checked" if I was bleeding but there was no bleeding or blood. I've also had no cramping or no loss of symptoms. I done a quick google search even though I knew I shouldn't and it seems to be quite common in the first trimester, I haven't contacted my midwife just yet as I don't think it's anything to worry about and also because she's pretty useless at answering the phone.
Does anyone have anything similar from previous pregnancy's or experienced anything like this during this pregnancy?

Tootsweets84 · 16/06/2021 11:40

Hi! I'm a long term reader of Mumsnet, but this is my first ever post. I'm due on the 2nd of Jan. This will be my 4th and final baby (3 boys so far so hoping for a girl for a change!) and I have a history of unexplained miscarriages (5 so far including 2 missed mcs discovered at the scan) so am always very nervous during the first trimester. My first scan is on the 22nd so fingers crossed it will be good news.
This will be my 3rd section. I tend to have fairly easy pregnancies after 12 weeks, but complicated births so I'm not looking forward to that! Anyone else with a big family?

SouthwestSis · 16/06/2021 14:47

@Tootsweets84 welcome and hope you are feeling well and managing some time to look after yourself with your 3 boys!

I am 8+ 3 today and currently trying to arrange to move house in the next couple of weeks, around long stressful shifts at work, can't say all the stress is helping my nausea and fatigue!

HforHavana · 17/06/2021 13:24

Just been to get my bloods done in my local sure start (if that's what they're still called).

Got told on arrival I had to do a wee sample which I wasn't previously aware of, no problem, only I'd been the toilet before I left work so had to force a wee out which wasn't easy.!

The scales were broken so I had to estimate my weight.

The info on the forms given to me had my previous address on which I asked at my booking appointment to be changed.

And finally, it looks like they got my info from my GP surgery who still has my mum down as my next of kin but she died 5 years ago!! Mum was registered at the same doctors as me so surely it's on record that she has passed.

Was also told that after my 12 week scan I have to call the GP to make an appointment with the midwife at 15 weeks? Is this standard? I thought they made all the appointments for you and just sent you a letter with the date and time?

1 appointment down, 1272 to go Grin

BunBunMum · 17/06/2021 13:33

@HforHavana my next midwife appointment at 16 weeks - the midwife made it for me at my booking appointment but generally we have to phone the surgery and book everything apart from the scans (although you book the 20wk one in person after your 12 week one around here)

Missingcoffee22 · 17/06/2021 14:46

@HforHavana I knew I needed to pee but still struggled haha. It is very strange but get used to peeing at the start of every appointment!
Booking appointments seems to be different all over. Last time I had my midwife ones booked for me but every other appointment as at the gp and I had to book those myself as I went. One plus side was I could make them at a convenient time for me.

L1ttleb1t · 18/06/2021 16:50

@HforHavana Next time you go for your appointment ask for some wee sample pots and do your wee when you feel like you need one at home before the appointment. I can never wee on demand and not into a tiny pot!

I've got my booking appointment through for next wednesday. OH can't come as it clashes with the school run. Oh well. Not much for him to do really anyway at a booking appointment.

willithappen · 20/06/2021 09:41

Mine give me the cup to take away and I have to do it at home before going in and take with me

Also not allowed partner at booking appointment, but honestly there's no reason for him to be there at the moment anyway so it would just be a huge bore for him.

sociallydistained · 20/06/2021 12:06

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant a few days ago and I’m 8 weeks.+ 😬 Very much still in shock!
I haven’t made any calls or appointments yet but I will call this week. I have struggled to come to terms with if I want the baby or not and I feel terribly guilty for it but I think I have come to conclusion I do.

I just wish I knew sooner because I am one of those cases who had what I thought were two periods 🤦🏻‍♀️ I did notice they were light but they were both bang on time and so I put the thought out of my mind. Also had a blood test for something else and thought if I’m pregnant they’ll tell me…. Nope! Something made me do the test though! On reflection all my symptoms have been so obvious 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m due end of Jan x

RockyisMYRhino · 22/06/2021 19:50

How is everyone doing? I've spent the last few days either feeling extremely nauseous without actually being sick, or so hungry I have to eat everything in sight!!! The fatigue seems to be wearing off a bit now, although if I have a late night one might I do feel like I've been hit by a bus by 8:30 the next night Confused. I have my booking appointment on Friday morning so should get a scan date soon after so we can have another look at flump Smile

littlelots123 · 22/06/2021 20:09

Hi @RockyisMYRhino I know that feeling! I have been extremely sick this time round! 7 times in one day 🤢 I really hope it passes soon!
I have my 12 week scan tomorrow, very nervous! Hope your booking appointment goes well on Friday!

I had nausea and sickness from week 6. I'm 12 weeks now and last week ended up spending a night in hospital after being unable to keep anything down for over 24 hours. Currently taking anti-sickness tablets 3x a day. Horrible feeling
RockyisMYRhino · 23/06/2021 16:49

@GummyBear2022 sorry you've been so poorly! Hope you start to feel better soon!

L1ttleb1t · 26/06/2021 10:56

I'm struggling with nausea too - on 2 different antihistamine tablets now. I just want the first trimester to be over. Over lost 1 stone so far.

Hi everyone,

First time poster. This is my first pregnancy and due on the 5th Jan 2022, So 12+3 weeks at the moment with my first scan on Monday. I’m so nervous for the scan and so worried something might be wrong.

My pregnancy has been hard so far, suffered really badly with morning sickness and low energy levels but finally starting to feel like I’m coming through the other side of that now and can start enjoying the pregnancy.

It’s all starting to feel very real and I feel like I know nothing about pregnancy or babies!

marnh18 · 26/06/2021 18:46

Has anyone had their 12 week scan yet? Or have experience from a previous pregnancy?
Im curious to know if anyone had an early scan, measured behind and then measured how many weeks they thought they were at the 12 week scan?
I had an early scan and measured around a week and a half behind but they said to go by my LMP so i'll be gutted if my 12 week scan still pushes me nearly 2 weeks behind!

littlelots123 · 26/06/2021 18:59

I had my 12 weeks scan on Wednesday, and it turns out I’m 3 days earlier than I though and am actually due New Years Eve!

PheebsJ · 27/06/2021 18:22

How’s everyone doing? I haven’t been on here for ages, everything has been a bit chaotic in my life lol! On the plus side I’ve finally told all my family and friends in expecting which has been lovely and I’m glad to not be hiding it anymore! I’ve had terrible morning sickness but that’s slowly getting better as well.

Missingcoffee22 · 27/06/2021 18:46

I'm so relieved to be telling everyone now! I'm so tired, it's hard to ignore why!
PheebsJ · 27/06/2021 21:20

I couldn’t hide it much longer as well, both because of tiredness and sickness plus I’m expecting twins so although I’m only 11 weeks I’m already starting to see a tiny bump and thought I might as tell them before they figure it out, which some already had! 😂

SouthwestSis · 27/06/2021 21:38

I've got my booking appointment tomorrow which is a nice little milestone to get to but it's over the phone so not sure what's gonna happen with getting blood tests done and no date for a dating scan get.
I've told a few close family only but have some friends struggling with their fertility so feeling apprehensive about telling them....
