Hi ladies. I couldn't find a new thread for us after ours maxed out already, so I have started another up. How is everyone doing?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HforHavana · 09/06/2021 10:02

I'm 10+1 today and I woke up yesterday as if I'm back to normal. No sickness, tiredness or nausea. I'm sure this is normal at this point as this is when first trimester symptoms start ease off so Iv read.

It's felt great to not be falling asleep at my desk at work, and we even went out for out tea lastnight as I had energy!

Iv also started taking vitamin D alongside the folic acid as advised by the midwife at my booking in appointment. Not sure if this would stop me being tired but I'm all for it anyway!

Had my scan appointment also for 28th June so I will be 12+6. Exciting!

RockyisMYRhino · 09/06/2021 10:07

Thanks ladies. Spoke to the unit again this morning and the earliest they can see me for a scan is late tomorrow morning. Just got to get through today and keep my fingers crossed I see my little flump tomorrow all happy and as healthy as possible I suppose.

RockyisMYRhino · 09/06/2021 10:07

@Eyedontknow hope you're ok! Keeping everything crossed for you

littlelots123 · 09/06/2021 11:12

Hi a random one! Has anyone else been told to use something called badger notes to keep all their maternity records? Also, are people still receiving letters about the scan time and date?

HforHavana · 09/06/2021 11:20

@littlelots123 I am using one called 'my pregnancy notes'. I got my booking app through this, and then my scan letter came in the post.
There is a section for upcoming appointments but my scan isn't on there. From what Iv heard, they're not very good with keeping the online systems up to date and with no actual paper notes, it's a bit crap really.

zeromango · 09/06/2021 11:22

@HforHavana - so weird! I'm 9w4d and my sickness has completely gone too! It was so bad for ages but the only symptom I have now is sore boobs! Trying not to worry too much. The placenta starts taking over between 8-12 weeks so I'm hoping it's something to do with that!

littlelots123 · 09/06/2021 11:24

@HforHavana
Thank you for your reply! I received a note on the app to say my scan has been booked for 23rd at a hospital nowhere near to where I live. I’ve been trying to get hold of my midwife to confirm this since Friday, but she is rubbish! No post yet, maybe I’ll wait a few more Days then hound the midwife again!

L1ttleb1t · 09/06/2021 12:07

@RockyisMYRhino Good they've got you in, even if it's tomorrow. If the bleeding gets heavy or you get cramps, I'd call 111 as A&E should be able to see you.

Re: booking appointments - I'm 7+3 now and heard nothing from midwives or about scans. When did people hear about booking in?

gigchic · 09/06/2021 13:03

Hi ladies, think this is some of the people from the previous thread. Had my booking in appointment yesterday so waiting for my scan date now. 10 weeks today and my symptoms disappeared yesterday so I was hoping I was seeing the other side of the sickness but today's it's back! Pregnancy still doesn't feel real to me, even after 1.5 hours with midwife yesterday! I'm excited for the scan and hoping that'll make it feel a bit more real! Hope you are all ok and settling into pregnant life. X

osmo18 · 09/06/2021 14:15

Ladies I am so glad to hear that sickness is disappearing for a lot of you! Mine is easing up and is so much better than it was just last week, I initially panicked and thought oh no is everything okay, why am I loosing symptoms but I think it's pretty normal as we head towards the second trimesterGrin

kiararafiki · 09/06/2021 15:02

Hi ladies, enjoying keeping up with everyone's journey! I am 10+2 today and still have nausea every now and then but my main symptoms at the moment are complete exhaustion and aversions to anything other than very plain carbs.

I know this is a personal one for everyone and there are no wrong or right answers. My family who live quite far away and who I haven't seen in a long time are visiting this weekend. My boyfriend and I are planning on telling them then so I will be 10+4, we are going for a private scan the same day before they arrive just to check all is good.

I don't really know what my question is here - all opinions welcome on whether the timing is right and would love to know when you are all thinking of telling your families/ if you have already?

Thanks!

I'm 10+1 so a day behind you. All my family and friends know and have done since the start. A few reasons for this were
  1. We live with PIL so would have been hard to hide it from them
  2. We were too excited and I am terrible with secrets
  3. If anything was to go wrong, the more people who know, the more support they can give
osmo18 · 09/06/2021 15:23

Hi @kiararafiki I'm 10+3 today and my parents, employer and a few close friends know. Just as a support bubble for me should I need anything or have any worries. Always good to have support of others although I do also completely understand those who wait a little longer. My friends and family also knew we were TTC so were kind of expecting it at some point.
We're probably going to wait as long as we possibly can before announcing to anyone else, maybe around 16 weeksSmile

Missingcoffee22 · 09/06/2021 15:40

@kiararafiki if you feel you'd like to tell then go for it! I'm currently 10+1.. we told my parents at 5 weeks, my brother and his gf know (though that was a bit of an accident), we just told my mil and I told my best friend at the weekend. Basically people who support me/us, who I would want to know if things go wrong, we are telling when we see them. I will tell my boss straight after my 12 week scan and then everyone else I care about telling just whenever we see them from then!

mpregnancy · 09/06/2021 15:55

Hi everyone, so glad I came across this website I have recently found out I’m pregnant, but my periods are always so irregular so I wouldn’t know exactly how many weeks, I’m going to say either 6/7. My anxiety is sky high, over thinking everything and just worrying about something going wrong. I also have horrendous morning sickness which comes and goes throughout the day which isn’t settling my nerves at all!!!

kiararafiki · 09/06/2021 16:18

Thanks @HforHavana @osmo18 and @Missingcoffee22 , it would definitely be nice to have some extra support and to get my mum's wisdom on things (I do wonder if I sound like a broken record telling my boyfriend how tired I am all the time Grin). Feeing more reassured in telling them now after hearing i won't being the only one!

chelsea93lucas · 09/06/2021 20:25

@ReginaaPhalange how's your scan gone? X

ReginaaPhalange · 09/06/2021 20:34

@chelsea93lucas I'm a bit confused. Going by lmp I should be 7w4d but the scan dated me at 5w6d but baby has a heartbeat xx

BunBunMum · 09/06/2021 20:46

@kiararafiki my Mum knew the day I got my BFP and one friend knows and told my boss and in laws 2 weeks ago so I was 8 weeks. I told the health and safety officer at work today (I’m 9+5) as I work in a lab and want to make sure I’m not exposed to dangerous stuff! I think it’s fine to tell those who you’d want to talk to/get support from if things go wrong but there’s no right or wrong answer really! X

Eyedontknow · 09/06/2021 22:36

@L1ttleb1t @RockyisMYRhino unfortunately not good news for me. They've said I am having a threatened miscarriage. There is an embryo but it is near the cervix and not towards the top of my uterus where it should be. Combined with my cramps, passing clots and heavy bleeding now, they've said I'll likely have a miscarriage over the next week or so. Still a very small chance everything will be fine because my cervix is still closed, but given the amount of blood/cramps and diminishing symptoms, I can't see how that's possible. Follow up scan in 2 weeks time. They didn't see a heartbeat, but I was measuring 6 weeks as I expected to be.

I hope everyone has happy and healthy pregnancies.

NightDreaming · 10/06/2021 06:52

@Eyedontknow so sorry to hear you’re going through this. It is such a horrible waiting game. Really hope it all turns out to be ok, but in mean time hope you’re not too uncomfortable. Take it gently, sending lots of love. x

BunBunMum · 10/06/2021 06:54

Really sorry to hear that @Eyedontknow Be easy on yourself xx

RockyisMYRhino · 10/06/2021 07:43

So sorry to hear this @Eyedontknow fingers crossed for the small chance that's still there for you
I have a scan later on this morning so will update you all this afternoon. Hope little flump is ok!

Aquarius93 · 10/06/2021 08:18
