Hi ladies. I couldn't find a new thread for us after ours maxed out already, so I have started another up. How is everyone doing?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Really feeling for those of you who are nauseous. I’ve hit 13wks and am now feeling more normal, the odd wave, but basically think I’m though the sickness part. It was a long slog to get through it though. Good luck, you’re nearly at 2nd trimester, really hope it begins to settle down.

I’ve been told I’ll probably end up having an early c-section. This puts me into Dec 2021, could even be before Christmas. Will keep being in this group but tempted to join in with the Dec MN group. Do you think that’s ok? Not sure what MN etiquette for this is, don’t want to ruffle feathers, particularly when I’m looking for support. x

sociallydistained · 28/06/2021 06:57

I hit peak (I hope!) nausea last week. Friday at work was a struggle I just felt so sick all day. I think I’m mostly past it now. Still need to eat little and often to keep it at bay.

BunBunMum · 28/06/2021 07:01

@NightDreaming my daughter was due 28th Nov so I joined the Nov and Dec groups as I was sure should would be a December baby and she was!!

Missingcoffee22 · 28/06/2021 09:16

@Nightdreaming someone in my August group kept up with September and ended up staying in the group. No one minded at all. There is more difference between August and September long run as school but short run I get why you'd want to be in both.

Worth saying that the dec fb may already be closed to new members as the jan one has already taken a dec due date who couldn't get it. There are actually now a couple of dec due dates there now.

GummyBear2022 · 28/06/2021 17:48

I'm 13 weeks today...... still feeling sick and still being sick at times, even though I'm on anti-sickness tablets! Horrible! Anyway, had my scan today and everything looks fine. Due 3rd Jan

littlelots123 · 29/06/2021 10:36

For all those who have decided to get the covid vaccine, at what stage are you thinking of having it? I’m currently 13 weeks but not sure if I should have it now, or wait till further along! GP and midwife wasn’t much help, just said it’s up to me! x

expectinglittlebear · 29/06/2021 10:44

Anybody else struggling with the nausea and sickness? I am 9+3 today (due end Jan) and I have been nauseous since probably week 5, but this past week has been horrendous. Can't really keep much down, water is also making me sick and its getting me so down!! Sad

Please tell me it gets better??? Halo

BunBunMum · 29/06/2021 10:55

@littlelots123 I had my covid vaccine at 12 weeks exactly last Friday. I was nervous but I already have 2 young children and cases are rising and I’m technically geriatric mother now (37!) so I want to be fully protected by the third trimester. I had a migraine on Saturday but I’ve had a couple of those recently anyway so don’t know if it was the jab or not but otherwise no side effects

NightDreaming · 29/06/2021 11:03

@BunBunMum and @Missingcoffee22 thanks for the replies. Think I will join the Dec group. Not worried about the fb group, wasn’t planning on joining it!

@littlelots123 I had my first before I was pregnant, delayed having my 2nd dose as didn’t want to do it until after 12wks. Have now booked my 2nd vaccine and I’ll be 14.5wks. But you have to do it when you fee comfortable.

@expectinglittlebear not long to go now. My sickness level dropped a lot in wk 10 and had basically gone by 11wks. You can do it.

Missingcoffee22 · 29/06/2021 12:04

@littlelots123 I can't decide either. Part of me wants to wait a little longer, although still get it in before I'm near full term. I also just want to make sure it isn't a time when I'm doing loads alone with my toddler in case I do feel really unwell. Finding a date that I can have help in the evening and also am not so busy at work I can't leave for an hour or so is proving quite challenging!

littlelots123 · 29/06/2021 12:13

@BunBunMum @NightDreaming @Missingcoffee22. I want to have it done so I can be protected later in pregnancy especially being a winter baby!
I have a wedding coming up end of July so I feel like I should have it done before as there’s suppose to be a lot of people attending. I also feel that I would want it done before my next scan, so I can see the baby and have peace of mind, if that make sense! It’s just a little nervous, I guess it’s to be expected with such a new vaccine.
Knowing that people have had it done if reassuring. x

BunBunMum · 29/06/2021 12:32

@littlelots123 I had a private scan for NIPT the day before my first vaccine and I have my official 12 week scan today!

HforHavana · 29/06/2021 13:29

Hi ladies, had my 12 week scan yesterday and also had my bloods taken. At my booking appointment a few weeks ago, I told the midwife I did not want the screening for Downs. However at the end of my bloods yesterday, the nurse said 'you'll get your results through the post in the next few days, or a phone call if anything flags up.' I just said okay as was abit taken back as I assume it was the screening I asked not to have.

I'm not overly bothered to have had it done, just more surprised really. I didn't know what the bloods where for when I went in, I thought it was just routine.

Also, when the results come through the post, do they show the babies gender? I know one of the tests does but not sure which one!

littlelots123 · 29/06/2021 14:44

@BunBunMum how exciting to see baby again today! Hope it all goes well

Missingcoffee22 · 29/06/2021 16:40

@littlelots123 definitely feel the same, just the timing is so tricky!

Missingcoffee22 · 29/06/2021 16:42

@HforHavana that is the screening for Downs' but also for Edwards' and Patau's. It's just a high risk low risk number so even if you're high risk, you can elect to not have any invasive tests to find out more.
With the NHS you don't find out gender definitively from any blood test. At the 20 week scan you can usually find out, but not guaranteed if baby is in a funny position.

Aquarius93 · 29/06/2021 16:59

@littlelots123 I had my jab at 12 weeks. I also wanted to have it as early as possible so I’m protected in the third trimester. With being due in winter and plans for restrictions being ‘irreversibly’ lifted, I wanted to be on the safe side. Had the Pfizer vaccine and no side effects apart from a sore arm! They also made me speak to a GP there before they gave me the vaccine to make sure I was happy to go ahead.

I had my dating scan last week and have been given a due date of 30th December so slightly earlier than expected. I’ll probably still check in on this group every now and again though! Hope everyone’s feeling okay. I got excited thinking the tiredness would start easing off now but no such luck yet!

littlelots123 · 29/06/2021 17:03

@Aquarius93 Im due 31st New Years Eve! Keep in touch would be lovely to hear how you’re getting on.

Aquarius93 · 29/06/2021 17:15

@littlelots123 ah how exciting! It’s nice to have someone at a very similar stage! Just a bit nervous about the potential for a Christmas arrival!

littlelots123 · 29/06/2021 17:24

@Aquarius93 I know, as long as it doesn’t come Christmas Day, I’ll be fine 🤣 Is this your first?

Aquarius93 · 29/06/2021 17:32

@littlelots123 yes hoping to avoid Christmas Day - I think we can cope with anything else! We have a lot of other birthdays in December and our wedding anniversary but they’re not such an issue!

And yes it’s our first - feeling excited and super naive 🤣

littlelots123 · 02/07/2021 10:50

@Aquarius93, oh wow, our wedding anniversary is in December too, And looks like we’re both Aquarius - how spooky!
I’ve booked my covid jab for next week, feeling a little nervous, but feel like it’s the right thing to do!
Let’s hope we avoid Xmas day! Keep me updated!

Hi ladies

I've been quiet for a bit - had side effects from a medication for sickness and have had terrible terrible sleep as a result of tremors. I've been in a mess of tears with no treatments for it. I haven't posted as it's been so tough. Honestly it's been much harder than the sickness. GP has now said it'll take a few days to recover and prescribing a drug that stops tremors.

Now I'm off the sickness drugs totally and the nausea actually isn't too bad (though I'm really not enjoying food) but I get this feeling like I'm going to throw up and I start dry retching. Does anyone else get that?

I've had really bad sickness too, ended up spending the night in hospital a few weeks ago on a drip. Also took the anti sickness medication. I've stopped taking them now and I'm still feeling sick, usually on a morning. I'm nearly 15 weeks now and it's still happening. I find I'm bad on a morning before I've eaten anything, I get that dry retching too. I'm still off a lot of foods too, and so many smells make me sick. Hoping it passes soon!
Amijustagrump · 10/07/2021 16:34

Hello all! I'm 23 and 11 weeks pregnant today with first baby due end of jan. I've found morning sickness horrific and I've lost a huge amount of weight.. hopefully it won't be too long until I feel better
