@tierneytarny

We went for a scan and saw a little beating heart and our little bean. Dates slightly behind my own but I know that they can be inaccurate at this point so I’m not over thinking it. It has eased my worries and recommend an early scan if you’re climbing the walls like I was. Now I have calmed down, I’m exhausted 🙈
That's great news ☺️ must be such a relief to you both 🙂

Morning everyone, I've heard a lot of people mention that they're experiencing constipation during early pregnancy but I seem to have the opposite problem. Sorry if this is tmi, I'm 5+3 and have had loose stools, sometimes diarrhea multiple times a day and feel like I've got a bad stomach at times. Is anyone else experiencing the same? Google is telling me it's normal but I haven't heard many others mention it. Hopefully you've finished eating your breakfast when you're reading this 😆

Jellybean8 · 25/06/2021 10:30

@choccrumpet don't worry you're not alone! I've had both! In my last pregnancy it was constipation but it's been the opposite this time

rz2022 · 25/06/2021 10:37

@choccrumpet I seem to be going more frequently too haven't experienced constipation in my first pregnancy or this one yet! 🤣

choccrumpet · 25/06/2021 10:48

@rz2022 @Jellybean8 so nice to know that I'm not alone 😅 I was starting to think it wasn't okay. Some days are bad and others are okay, I wonder if it will eventually stop. Not sure which one is better..

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/06/2021 12:13

@choccrumpet I'm one of the constipated ones and it's awful! When I was looking it up it said if you have IBS it's likely to be diarrhoea. I tend to get constipated with any changes anyway, like jet lag, or eating badly 🙈😂 so that must be my normal reaction to change

choccrumpet · 25/06/2021 12:52

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that's so interesting, I normally react with diarrhea. I didn't know IBS was more likely to give diarrhea so that would make sense with my IBS. I mean it's good to know 🙈 again very lucky that I'm wfh

rz2022 · 25/06/2021 13:05

Hi @vmfwh congratulations 🎉🎉 I have spent the last half hour looking for the app you mentioned but I have an android 🤣

Sorry u had such a hard time.in your first pregnancy... Fingers crossed for u for your next ultrasound. I hope it goes well for you 😌 It's amazing how quick you have had a scan in Dubai!!!

I'm sorry I don't have any tips on high blood pressure but it seems like u and doctors are on top of it with medication. 😌

vmfwh · 25/06/2021 13:22

@rz2022 thank you so much! How are you keeping? How far along are you? And congratulations to you too!!

Yes, sorry! I've only just realised the app is available for iphones at the moment but hopefully they release an android version soon!

The government maternity care here for expats is pretty limited so we all have private health insurance and can go to see the gynaecologist/any specialist directly, no referrals needed, and we can get an ultrasound done with no waiting times and all for a minimal fee. You ladies are so brave and patient! The waiting times on the nhs would drive me absolutely crazy now that I am used to the healthcare here!

Thank you, I really really hope everything goes well tomorrow and they find a sac. I seem to have a lot more CM yesterday and today so hoping that is a good sign that things are progressing well despite not having any other symptoms.

rz2022 · 25/06/2021 14:38

I'm 8 weeks according to LMP but think I'm 6 weeks ... feeling good just have waves of tiredness and nausea! Have to wait for first scan to confirm. I'm actually in Ireland but it's similar to UK with appointments.

Seems like a positive sign that things are progressing and Ur HCG is increasing.

This group is great as I try to keep the pregnancy a secret 🙂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/06/2021 14:58

@choccrumpet We're SO lucky to be mostly wfh atm. Went in yesterday and it exhausted me! Had to skip the drinks and come home to rest. Hope you feel better soon

vmfwh · 25/06/2021 15:05

Me too! DH and I have decided not to tell anyone till the 12 week detail scan shows everything is ok, seeing as it is high risk...we just don't want to get too excited till we know for sure :)

Oh! Not long to go till you have your scan! Super excited for you and hope that all goes well with the little one!

I have really bad cramps tonight, I remember having cramps with my last 2 pregnancies but these are getting quite bad tonight

Jane7891 · 26/06/2021 07:26

@feb2022 I’ve been getting bad cramps too, especially at night 😴 try not to worry xxx

The nausea has hit me this morning, does any one have any tips?

Shsh · 26/06/2021 09:35

@Jane7891my cramps bloating and nausea are so severe I’m struggling to get out of bed. I’ve asked in here for tips previously and don’t think anybody had any please let me know if you find some 🤢🤢

feb2022 · 26/06/2021 09:42

@Jane7891 they were so bad last night, sort of like when your period arrives and makes you feel hot & sick, they have eased off this morning though thank god!

feb2022 · 26/06/2021 09:43

@Shsh I find chewing gum helps with my sickness and eating carbs

vmfwh · 26/06/2021 10:18

I haven't had any nausea this time around (yet!) but with my last one, I agree, snacking on something carby every hour really helped me as well! I'd eat a plain cream cracker or a rice cake or oat cake every hour or so. For the cramps, I found some prenatal yoga pelvic stretches on youtube and they helped me a lot.

These are probably basic tips for sickness but I use magnesium oil at night which is meant to be great for it and the sea sick bands on my wrists when I'm out. I'm also having acupuncture. I'm 7.5 weeks and so far only having odd waves of nausea and lack of appetite from the afternoon onwards. Did gag doing my teeth this morning tho

@sam433 that's awful sorry! Hopefully yours will finish quickly as you're sicker earlier. I spray it on my legs before bed. Someone who had sickness recommended it - I don't know if it's working for me or I just don't have bad sickness

I started feeling sick this morning (5+3) but am still able to and want to eat, just feel nauseous before & after. I think eating smaller meals regularly is helping but it's only been half a day so who knows how this will progress. I empathise with those who can't eat at the moment!

Rmw99 · 26/06/2021 15:31

Hey ladies,
Had my private scan done today everything is looking good and I'm measuring further than what i thought 8w 1day. Nice strong healthy heart beat. Hopefully the next 5 weeks will fly by for the next scan x
