I’m 6+2, my symptoms haven’t been too bad to be honest. I get the odd wave of tiredness but nothing too bad at the minute 🤞, main thing for me is sore boobs and I’ve had a headache all day today. I can’t wait to get a pregnancy pillow, I’ve heard great things 😂

PeonyBlushSuede · 22/06/2021 22:29

@Jane7891 do it! I only picked this up as I was in store and was half the price of those I'd seen on amazon. I had planned to store it in the spare room for a while until I was ready for it.
Tried the pillow and I'm sold. Even once baby is here I don't think I'll want to give it up!

Jane7891 · 22/06/2021 22:49

I’ll have a look at the weekend and see if I can get one! It all still doesn’t feel real, I don’t think it will sink in until the first scan

stellaglamski · 22/06/2021 23:19

Hi, I'm 5+1 with a 6&4yr old. Nervous as had a mmc in March.

This is my first ever post. I've always read the comments and it's been a great help but thought I'd finally post as it's so difficult not being able to tell anyone.

Feeling ok at the moment. A few head aches at the wknd which prompted me to do a test and very sensitive nipples. They are constantly erect 🤦‍♀️ like I'm freezing but not. Has anyone got this?
I'm curious if any of you have had the Covid vaccine. As I've been trying for a while my doctor said not to get it in case I was pregnant but I'm getting the texts inviting me to have it all the time. I'm just nervous if it could do anything to damage the baby.

overtherainbo · 23/06/2021 06:45

@stellaglamski I too have very sore erect nipples. I also have cold like symptoms and constipation. I thought I was 7+2 today but I am in fact 6+3.

I have had both covid injections. My last one was 30th May.

choccrumpet · 23/06/2021 08:40

@stellaglamski welcome! I had my first jab day before I found out I was pregnant. I'll be getting my second one as soon as it's available to me, hopefully end of first trimester. I want to be as protected as I possibly can from covid.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/06/2021 08:44

@stellaglamski my first vaccine was booked in for when I was five weeks pregnant. I cancelled that one and am hoping to get vaccinated in my second trimester.

Jane7891 · 23/06/2021 08:46

@stellaglamski I am the same as @choccrumpet, I had my covid jab before I found out I was pregnant and all seems to be okay 🤞 I heard on the radio yesterday that pregnant woman are now being encouraged to get the vaccine.

I too am finding it difficult not being able to talk to many people about it, this thread is a god send Smile

Hope2022 · 23/06/2021 09:10

I had my first covid vaccine about 2 weeks before I conceived.. have been invited to second one in 2 weeks time but I’m undecided what to do, mainly because we’ve been ttc for 6 years and other pregnancy was a mmc.. I don’t want to risk anything just yet. Midwife said advice had now changed and pregnant women are being encouraged to have the vaccine.. 🤷‍♀️

Hope2022 · 23/06/2021 09:11

@stellaglamski I’ve had super stiff nips too! 😂 I’m about 6+5 and they seem to have calmed down today but this last week they’ve been painful and sensitive, especially when the shower hit them! 😱

Snowdonia · 23/06/2021 09:18

@Hope2022 I'm the same as you. Had my first vaccine 2 weeks before I conceived. I'll probably wait for the second trimester before I have the next one. I've got time to think about it anyway.

Has anyone told family yet? I want to but because it's so early I dont know what to do! Think that's why I'm tempted to have an early scan which I've seen people mention a lot. More for reassurance really.

rz2022 · 23/06/2021 09:25

@snowdonia I haven't told anyone yet I can't believe I'm holding it in! Smile I think this group is helping! I want to wait until first scan too if o can do it!!.. has anyone got an appointment for their first scan from hospital yet? I've heard you get nearly a months notice?? I'm hoping to get mine on the next couple of weeks as hospital says I'm 8 weeks according to LMP

choccrumpet · 23/06/2021 09:30

@Snowdonia we've told a few friends but not family yet. Ideally I'd like to wait until my first scan (in 2 weeks when I'm 7 weeks) but I'm not sure if I can wait that long. So I'll probably tell them before the scan.

@rz2022 my midwife called me yesterday and gave me my booking app for when I'll be around 8 weeks. It seems random, I only self referred last week so each area does it differently it seems.

Laurenbsmith2809 · 23/06/2021 09:33

@Hope2022 I saw my midwife yesterday for booking in appointment and she suggested waiting until second trimester don’t know if that helps

Katff · 23/06/2021 09:41

I did a self referral to my local hospital on Friday, and yesterday they sent me the dates for an 8 week booking in appointment and the 12 week scan. It seems like they are super organised which is a little reassuring!
I’ve now got my head around the pregnancy and and now super anxious about every little twinge so think I’ll book in an early private scan at 6 weeks (next weekend) for a bit more reassurance. I did a clear blue this morning and it came back as 2-3weeks, it was nice to see that it had moved up from the 1-2 that I got over the weekend!

stellaglamski · 23/06/2021 09:42

Thank you for your feedback on the erect nipples 🤣 and vaccine. It's so annoying that we have to think about what we are doing over that but the advice seems to be mixed. Like everything with covid we can only ever do what we feel is right for ourselves.
Haven't told anyone yet. Super hard not as got a big reunion next weds and I'm usually a party girl. Any tips on why I won't be drinking. I feel they'll just know 😬 but too soon yet to tell. Got an early scan booked for 7th July when I should be 7+2. 🤞🏼 can't wait to tell my daughters though as they often as about babies 🤣.
Congrats to everyone, it's an amazing journey x

Hope2022 · 23/06/2021 09:42

@Snowdonia yes there’s no rush is there. I may just see how pregnancy goes and the covid risk..

We haven’t told anyone yet, mainly because we want that 12 week scan before we can get excited! We found out about our mmc at our 12 week scan so We’re feeling a little anxious about telling people until then.. luckily we hadn’t told anyone that time either because personally I found it easier to deal with privately. Having said that we all deal with things diffusion just do what feels right for you! 😘

Sycamore89 · 23/06/2021 09:43

@stellaglamski I did a lot of research and decided to get the vaccine, went to get it and the doctor at the vaccination centre advised me not to get it (I was 5+4 at the time). I think she was probably just quite risk adverse, but I didn’t want to make a choice against a doctors advice… will definitely get it when (if) I get to 12 weeks.

Completely with you on nipples!

I had an early scan yesterday (at 7 weeks). This is my first pregnancy and it was so magic to see the heartbeat. Now feeling slightly more confident to start to tell family.. though it hasn’t done much to stop me feeling nervous! Can’t wait to get to 12 weeks!

Hope2022 · 23/06/2021 09:45

Thanks @Laurenbsmith2809

Hope2022 · 23/06/2021 09:46

@Sycamore89 so lovely to hear you had a lovely scan! I’m having one next week and will be just over 7 weeks! Excited and anxious 😬

rz2022 · 23/06/2021 09:55

@choccrumpet @katff that's great seems really organised! Would love if I got that letter 🤣 I think once we have that first scan and everything is ok I will be at a bit more ease. It seems like the longest wait 🤣

Dgmac · 23/06/2021 09:55

I'm due in February with my first Smile based on my last MC I though I would be due mid Feb but midwives have given me due date of 6th Feb. Just have to wait for 12 week scan to confirm I suppose!
Really suffering with nausea and vomiting this week have been off work for the last few days and have had to let my manager know.
I was meant to get 2nd dose covid vaccine a few weeks ago but consultant advised me to wait until I am in second trimester.

Snowdonia · 23/06/2021 10:03

Has anyone experienced slight bleeding at all? It's started within the last half hour while I'm in work. It's my first so no idea if this is normal or not. I've googled it and it has said it can be common around 6 - 7 weeks 🤞🏻

Bells3032 · 23/06/2021 10:14

@Snowdonia the only bleeding i had was at exactly 6 weeks before i knew i was pregnant after a erm rambunctious afternoon with DH.

Was advised a long as light and no clots bigger than a 2p piece its ok

Hatethisplacetho · 23/06/2021 10:22

Ooh. A group for me! I am 6+1 with DC2, just found out a week ago.. Was a surprise as my May period was ten days long and threw off my “rhythm method” calculations Blush
I cried for a day but now I am thrilled and feeling this kind of floaty serene pregnant lady feeling! Does anyone else get that? I had it with DC1, my first symptom was alleviation of a 2 year depression. This time a lot of my anxiety has dissipated - maybe because I’m simply too tired to worry about anything Grin Have got intense nausea and weird dreams as well.
Following other currently bf mamas with interest - I’m still bf my 19 month old - they are more enthusiastic than ever. Shock definitely keen to wean ASAP as I don’t think I can handle feeding them both!!
